Visitation will be Monday beginning at 6:00 PM. Mrs. Zimoski passed away July 17, 2008 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Esther Zimoski was born on October 25, 1926 in Trail City, S.D. to Philip and Magdaline (Beffert) Bashans. She was the youngest of two children and grew up and attended school in Mobridge, SD. Esther then moved to Michigan with her sister Alma, to help care for her family. In 1944 she married Mike Zimoski in Flint, Michigan and to this union three children were born. Esther moved back to Mobridge, SD in 1963 and worked various jobs. Her first job was working at the Western Café followed by the Arcade, Plastic Plant and the last being the Fireside Supper Club.

Esther was a woman of very strong faith.. Whenever someone would have a problem she would always say, “Put your trust in the Lord and he will take care of it that is why he is here, to take care of you.” Esther never worried about anything, for she knew God would take care of her and she depended on the Lord for everything. She was a very giving person and would always tell her grandchildren that her purse was too small for her money, so she had to give them some. Her grandchildren always told her they were going to buy her a smaller purse.

Craig Lynd remembers; there is a story in the bible where Jesus is conversing with a man inside a temple. They are discussing people who are making donations. They see a rich man give a lot of money and they observe a poor woman give a few pennies. Jesus proclaimed that the woman gave more than the rich man for she gave all she had. First time I heard this story I thought of grandma. She never had any money to speak of but my cousin Eric and I could never tell because no matter how little she had she always gave us all she could and I will never forget that.

Esther was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Mobridge and enjoyed the many family gatherings, especially the holidays and also loved visiting with family and friends. She especially enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and watching her game shows.

Esther is survived by two daughters; Sherry (Sherman) Renner of Mobridge, SD and Sharon (Louie) Lipp of Mobridge, SD and one son; Michael (Carol) Zimoski of Mobridge, SD; six grandchildren; Craig Lynd, Jennifer Keller, Eric Skillingstad, Jason Zimoski, Jackie Zimoski and Steven Zimoski; two great grandchildren; Arianna Lynd and Jesse Lynd.
