Andy Hansen

NEWCASTLE, Wyo. - Prominent Wyoming banker Andy Hansen, 93, died early Thursday, July 27, 2000, at the home of his son, Robert C. Hansen, in Fort Collins, Colo., after battling emphysema.

Born to Hans T. and Lydia Hansen, Danish homesteaders on the prairie north of Newcastle, Andy was highly regarded during a 50-year career in banking and retired as president of the First State Bank of Newcastle in 1974.

He married Newcastle home-economics teacher Frances Emma Wormwood on Aug. 25, 1935, at her home in Glendo, Wyo., and was preceded by her in death on Nov. 26, 1980. In addition to son Robert and his wife, Mary, he is survived by daughter Janice Hansen Erisman and her husband, David O., Cincinnati; son Russell A. and his wife, Carol Sue Oslund Hansen, Gillette, Wyo.; and a brother, Richard, and his wife, Pauline Hansen, Newcastle. They also enjoyed grandchildren Jason and Lisa Hansen, Fort Collins, John and Joel Erisman, Cincinnati, Mike and Megan Erisman Cleary, Ann Arbor, Mich.; great-grandchildren Andy and Emma Frances Hansen and numerous nieces and nephews. Also predeceased are a brother, Clarence Hansen, and wife, Juelle

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Worden Chapel in Newcastle.

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at First United Methodist Church in Newcastle, with Dr. Robert Firebaugh officiating.

The family suggests contributions to a garden memorial or to First United Methodist Church. Contributions may be left with Worden Funeral Directors, P.O. Box 627, Newcastle, WY 82701 or First State Bank, P.O. Box 910, Newcastle, WY 82701.

Berniece Marie Manning

APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. - Berniece Marie Manning, 77, Apache Junction, and formerly of Rapid City, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at Mesa Lutheran Hospital.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Wise and Donna Dugger, both of Rapid City; two sisters, Vonnie Eschenbaum, Sacramento, Calif., and Alice Steinlighter, San Bernadino, Calif.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Behrens Mortuary in Rapid City. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City, with the Rev. Mike Hight as celebrant. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City.

Jean T. Gordon

RAPID CITY — Jean T. Gordon, 66, Rapid City, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at a local nursing home.

She is survived by her long-time companion, Lloyd Chercus, Rapid City; her son, John W. Gordon IV and his wife Kate, Rapid City; her daughter, Jean Root and her husband, Tony, Caputa; one sister, Elizabeth "Susie" N. Hall, Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Austin Murtha, John W. Gordon, V. Jason Gordon and Beth Gordon; and three great-grandchildren, Alec Gordon, Molly Gordon and Camron Gordon.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at First Presbyterian Church in Rapid City, with Dr. David Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City.

Ladonna L. Crazy Thunder-Fritz

PINE RIDGE — Ladonna L. Crazy Thunder-Fritz, infant, Pine Ridge, died Friday, July 28, 2000, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her parents, Greg Fritz and Beverly Crazy Thunder, both of Pine Ridge; one brother, Eric Crazy Thunder, Pine Ridge; and grandparents Frank and Erna Crazy Thunder of Pine Ridge and Kathy Fritz, Rapid City.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Holy Rosary Mission Cemetery in Pine Ridge, with the Rev. Bill Pauly, S.J., officiating.

Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Weston P. Brown

RAPID CITY — Weston P. Brown, 89, Rapid City, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include five daughters, Imagene Horse, Chadron, Neb., and Lilith Rambur, Karen Johnson, Diane Lien, Lori Shanefelt, all of Auburn, Wash.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron with the Rev. Ed Cortney, S.J., officiating.

Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Kristine Ann McQuistion

CHAMBERLAIN — Kristine Ann McQuistion, 39, Chamberlain, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Gary McQuistion, Chamberlain; her parents, Clifford and Priscilla Parke, Kadoka; three sons, Clinton McQuistion, John McQuistion and Andy McQuistion, all of Chamberlain; her grandmother, Olive Parke, Kadoka; two sisters, Teresa Eberhart, Pueblo, Colo., and Michelle Renning, Emerson, Neb.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Wevik Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at United Church of Christ in Chamberlain, with the Rev. Richard Fylling officiating. Burial will follow at Scotty Philip Cemetery in Fort Pierre.

Florence McGurn

MOORCROFT, Wyo. — Florence McGurn, 85, Moorcroft, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at her home.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Hagstrom, Moorcroft.

Arrangements are pending with Fidler-Roberts Funeral Chapel in Sundance.

Boyd M. Potter

CUSTER — Boyd M. Potter, 70, Custer, died Friday, July 28, 2000.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Potter, Custer; three sons, Dee Potter and Bret Potter, both of Huntington, Utah, and Wayne Potter, Salt Lake City; two daughters, Stacy Christman, Huntington, and Jamie Peacock, Lawrence, Utah; one brother, Scott Potter, Richland, Wash.; one sister, Sonja Potter, McCall, Idaho; and 18 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 3, at Isburg-McColley's Chapel in Custer.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at St. John the Baptist Church in Custer, with burial at 3 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Jacob Steely

STURGIS — Jacob Steely, 89, Sturgis, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at Sturgis Community Long Term Care Center.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Steely, Sturgis; two sons, Jake Steely Jr., Sturgis, and William Steely, Pierre; two daughters, Betty Steely, Pierre, and Rosella Teager, Fort Collins, Colo.; one stepson, Eldon Bigham, Fort Collins; one stepdaughter, Deborah Love, Hot Springs; one sister, Kathryn Neisent, Fort Collins; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. until services on Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. Services will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Rhodes officiating.

Burial will follow at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

Ruth Viola Overland

STURGIS — Ruth Viola Overland, 94, Sturgis, died Sunday, July 31, 2000, at Sturgis Community Health Center.

Survivors include three sons, Clayton Overland, Whitewood, Wayne Overland, Union Center, and Jack Overland, Red Owl; five daughters, Doris Bastian, Union Center, Shirley Drum, Faith, Norma Hauser, Faith, Barb Isaacs, Faith, and Pearl Strong, Union Center; 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis and before services, which will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Harold Delbridge officiating. Burial will be at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

Jacqueline Leila Petersen

RAPID CITY — Jacqueline Leila Petersen, 61, Rapid City, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at Evanston Regional Hospital, Evanston, Wyo.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas "Tom" Petersen, Rapid City; four daughters, Muriel Baker, Black Hawk, Norma Willier, Rapid City, Dianna Duckett, Spearfish, and Yvonne Hurtado, Atlantic City, N.J.; two sons, Jeffery Rath, Spokane, Wash., and Michael Rath, Park City, Mont.; her mother, Merle Beaton, Jacksonville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Behrens Mortuary in Rapid City.

Doyle P. Red Cloud

PINE RIDGE — Doyle P. Red Cloud, 51, Pine Ridge, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include one son, Anthony Waters, Pine Ridge; one daughter, Rosebud Red Horse, Pine Ridge; four brothers, Carl Elk Boy, Bishop, Calif., Winfred Elk Boy, Prairie Island, Minn.; Richard Elk Boy and Donroy Elk Boy, both of Pine Ridge; and five sisters, Mary Ann Red Cloud and Vera Bring Plenty, both of Pine Ridge, Marie Black Tail Deer, Red Wing, Minn., Lula Red Cloud, Hermosa, and Delia Bear Saves Life, Oglala.

Two-night wake services will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Wakpamni CAP Building in Pine Ridge.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Wakpamni CAP Building with Floyd Hand officiating.

Burial will be at Red Cloud Family Cemetery in Pine Ridge.

Sioux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Barret M. Jolley

RAPID CITY — Barret Mitchell Jolley, 6, Rapid City, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

He was born Feb. 27, 1994, at Rapid City, the son of Jon S. and Janice A. (Lancaster) Jolley.

Survivors include his father, Jon S. Jolley, Rapid City; four sisters, Alexa Jolley and Jade Jolley, both of Rapid City, Michel Tassler, Sioux Falls, and Morgan Tassler, Monroe, Neb.; one brother, Sean Tassler, Monroe; maternal grandmother, Janet Walker, Toronto, S.D.; paternal grandparents, Clint and Sandi Jolley, Rapid City; and great- grandparents, Dennis and Arlene Yohner, Harvey, N.D.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Jolley, in 1996.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home, with family members present. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, with the Rev. Jeff Carlson officiating. Interment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery.

A Memorial Education Fund has been established for his brothers and sisters.

The funeral procession will depart from Osheim-Catron Funeral Home at about 9:50 a.m.

Floyd Windedahl

STURGIS — Floyd Windedahl, 89, Sturgis, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Inez, Sturgis; four sons, Merle Windedahl, Whitewood, Verlin Windedahl, Rifle, Colo., and Jim Windedahl and Jerry Windedahl, both of Rapid City; three daughters, LaVonne Gravelle, Kellogg, Idaho, Shirley Christie, Yankton, and Marlys Beshara, Rapid City; one brother, Melvin Windedahl, Carthage; five sisters, Alma Sneesby, Bridgewater, Geneva Isaacson, Salem, Ore., Opal Sneesby, Carthage, Florence Carmon, Carthage, and Verna Bachman, Sioux Falls; 28 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel and prior to the services, which will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, with the Rev. Bob Yantis officiating.

Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Deadwood.
