Lynn A. Weaver,
Funeral services for Lynn A. Weaver, 79, of Rapid City, and formerly of Lead, were held, March 26, 2001 at the Chaput Memorial Chapel in Lead. Burial with military honors followed at the Black Hills National Cemetery of Sturgis
Lynn died on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Lynn was born October 8, 1921 at Sturgis, to Walter A. & Helen L.(Jewett) Weaver. He attended schools in Dupree. Lynn served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
On April 3, 1943, Lynn married Eleanor M. Olson at Dupree. They moved toLead in 1953 when he began working for Homestake Mining Company. He retired in December of 1983.
Lynn was a member of the VFW, Tomahawk Country Club and attended the Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor of Rapid City; three sons, Lyle A.Weaver of Tahlequah, Okla., Steve A. Weaver of Rapid City, and Joel L. Weaver of Rapid City; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; a brother, Darrell Weaver of Yakima, Wash.; and a sister, Lavonne Lawien of Belle Fourche.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister in infancy.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Chaput Memorial Chapel in Lead.
A memorial has been established in his memory.
Lottie V. (Steele) Pierce
Memorial services for Lottie V. (Steele) Pierce, 86, of Chadron, Neb. (formerly of Deadwood) will be held at 1 p.m. march 31, 2001 at he Chamberlain Funeral Chapel in Crawford, Neb.
Lottie passed away on Friday, March 23, 2001 at the Chadron Community Hospital after a short illness.
She was born on December 28, 1914 to Charles and Arvilla (Benton) Steele. She attended school in Crawford, Neb. and graduated in 1936.
On August 21, 1936 Lottie married Frank R. Pierce in Hot Springs. The couple made their home in Crawford, Neb. before moving to Rapid City. In 1943 they move to the Lead-Deadwood area settling in Central City for 18 years.
Lottie was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and member of the Eagles in Deadwood. Lottie retired to Chadron in 1989 where she spent twelve happy years close to her sisters and their families and her guiding light and best friend, her niece Cleo Koerber. She enjoyed playing cards (with her own rules) and she loved her television programs.
Among her survivors are four sons, Edward D. (Linda) Pierce, Lead, Ronnie R. (Kathy) Pierce, Upton Wyo., Larry D (Colleen) Pierce, Deadwood and Terry L Pierce, Rapid City; one daughter Judie K. (Dale) Hanson, Kenmore N.D.; three sister Mary Connell, Scottsbluff, Neb., Marie Ringer, Crawford, Neb. and Leoria Mossman, Tempe, Ariz.; and her niece Cleo Koerber, Chadron, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; daughter Shirley; son Dennis; brothers Lloyd, Floyd, and Leo and sisters Lois and Laura.

Carol Marie Peterson
Memorial services for Carol Marie Peterson, age 52, of Deadwood were March 27, 2001 at 2:00p.m. at Trinity Methodist Church in Lead with Rev. Gregory Kroger officiating.
Carol Peterson died at her home on Wednesday, March 21, 2001.
She graduated from Lead High School in 1967, attended various colleges and studies various fields of study. She worked in the service industry for the past 25 years. The last 7 years she worked at the Bullock Hotel in Deadwood.
She is survived by her life partner, Joey George of Deadwood; her mother, Marie Thompson of Lead; a son, Justin Hogen of Deadwood; a daughter, Misty Hogen of Deadwood; brother, DerralThompson of Virginia, Minn. and a sister; Lois Culver of Sholow,Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Arrangements are with the Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home in Sturgis.
Robert Joel King
Robert Joel King, age 78, of Whitewood, passed away on March 23, 2001 at Ft. Meade Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Sturgis. Private services with burial at Black Hills National Cemetery were held.
Arrangements were with the Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home in Sturgis.
Elizabeth "Betty" DeRocher
Elizabeth DeRocher, 92, of Spearfish passed away Tuesday, March 20, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish. She will return to Maine later this summer for interment.
Betty was born June 16, 1908 at Pictou, Nova Scotia to John and Elizabeth (Lamont) Wilson. At the age of five, she moved with her family to Houlton, Maine.
In February of 1933, she was married to Reginald DeRocher in Woodstock, New Brunswick. Following their marriage, they made their home in Maine. Betty worked many years as a cosmetologist and beautician.
In June of 1993, she moved to Hulett, Wyo. to be near her family. As the aging process began to take its toll, Betty moved to the Hickory House Senior Housing, late moving to Garden Hills Assisted Living both in Spearfish, finally moving to the Belle Fourche Health Care Center where she remained until her death.
Graterful for having shared in her life is her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sharron DeRocher of Hulett, Wyo.; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Jack and sisters Jean, Jessie, Violet and Marjorie.
A memorial for the Alzheimer's Association is established at First Western Bank in Spearfish.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.

Daniel M. Boone, 72, Aladdin, Wyo. died Monday, March 26, 2001 at his ranch north of Aladdin.
Services are pending with the Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home of Spearfish.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Fri., Feb. 17, for Mavis Leona Kjellsen, 84, Arlington, who died Feb. 14, 2006, at the Beverly Health Care Center in Arlington. The Rev. Loren Odland will officiate in Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington, and burial will be in the Arlington City Cemetery.

Word has been received of the death of Eugene Luther "Gene" Schultz, 83, who died on Feb. 7, 2006, at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont., of natural causes.

Word has been received of the death of Dorothea Thonssen, 102, Minneapolis, Minn., former Colman resident, who died on Feb. 9, 2006, at the Augustana Home in Minneapolis.

Funeral services were Jan. 8 for Gary Lee Heidelberger, 61, former Madison resident, who died on Jan. 3, 2006, at his home. The Rev. Jim Crapson officiated in College Springs Presbyterian Church, and burial was in Blanchard Cemetery, Blanchard, Iowa.
