Helen M. Kost
Helen M. Kost, age 91, of Aurora, died Tuesday evening, November 23, 2004, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2004, at the Presbyterian-U.C.C. Church in Aurora. Pastor Monty Nelson will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary Web site at higbymortuary.com.
Helen M. Kost, the daughter of Frank L. and Mabel Evangeline (Cavanaugh) Gleich, was born in Humboldt, South Dakota on December 11, 1912, and died in Aurora, Nebraska on November 23, 2004, at the age of 91.
She grew up in the Humboldt area and graduated from the Yankton High School in Yankton, South Dakota. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi as well as being a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She was employed by the J. C. Penney Company as a cashier and bookkeeper until 1953.
On December 20, 1953, she was united in marriage to Ted Kost. They farmed in the Utica and Scotland area in South Dakota until July 1969 when they moved to Aurora, Nebraska. Helen was employed by Parkers of Aurora until she retired in 1976.
She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Women's Bowling League. Helen was a member of several card clubs.
Helen was a member of the Presbyterian-U.C.C. Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Marjorie Gordon and Lucile Parker.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, a son and daughter-in-law Don and Londa Kost of Kearney, and a daughter and son-in-law Judy and Roger Salmon of Aurora; 3 grandsons: Nick and David Kost of Omaha and Chad Salmon of Aurora; 2 granddaughters: Kelsey (Gerad) Olsen and Jana Salmon, all of Aurora; two step-grandchildren: Derek and Kara Deyle of Kearney; one great granddaughter Rylee Olsen of Aurora, one brother, Robert (Marlene) Gleich of Veneta, Oregon, and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends.

PICKSTOWN -- Betty Mae Drapeaux, 68, of Pickstown died Friday (Nov. 19, 2004) at Avera McKennan Select Services, Sioux Falls.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Marty. Burial is in Cedar Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Pickstown.
Wake services began Friday in the St. Paul's Catholic Church basement.

Guy Dahlenburg
SPRINGFIELD -- Memorial services for Guy Dahlenburg, 47, formerly of Springfield, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2004, at the Springfield Community Bible Church in Springfield, SD, with burial at the Springfield Cemetery.
Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home of Springfield is assisting with the arrangements.
Guy Dahlenburg, son of George and Deloris (Wynia) Dahlenburg, was born November 6, 1956, in Butte, Neb. He died after 12 years of failing health on October 31, 2004, at the Serenity House Care Hospice in Santa Barbara, CA, where he had been a resident for three weeks. Guy attained the age of 47 years, 11 months and seven days.
Guy received his elementary and junior high school education in Springfield, SD and attended high school in Aberdeen, SD. He received a Certificate of Environmental Management from the Technical College in Minneapolis, MN.
Guy pursued a career in carpet cleaning in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area until 1980, when he moved to San Francisco, CA, to join his sister, Linda Dahlenburg. After moving there, he went to work for Jim O'Conner of O'Conner Carpet Cleaning. While working there, he met and married Katheryn O'Conner on November 22, 1981, in Millbrae, CA. Guy and Kathy opened an O'Conner Carpet Cleaning franchise in Stockton, CA and went on to expand this franchise into a five-fleet service. He also purchased a Chevron Service Station with his stepfather, Darrell Huntsman, in Stockton, CA, in 1991. Guy enjoyed building up his businesses and his involvement in the community.
In 1984, Guy and Kathy moved from Stockton to Linden, CA, to raise their three sons. Guy and Kathy divorced in 1994. As the result of his failing health, Guy sold his businesses and went to work as a Sales Manager for Tim McNevin Carpet Cleaners in San Francisco. His health finally forced him to retire in 1998.
Guy loved the outdoors and was involved with trapshooting, hunting and was a member of the Sierra Gun Club of California. He loved to fish and enjoyed playing the drums and music in general. After his retirement, Guy dabbled in photography and helped promote a friend's music career.
Guy leaves behind his former wife, Kathy Dahlenburg and sons: Keith, Kenneth and Kevin of Linden, CA; his mother, Deloris (Dahlenburg) Huntsman of Springfield, SD; two sisters: Debra McNutt and husband, Lloyd and family of Grove City, Ohio; and Linda Sorrell and husband, John of Ventura, CA.
Guy was preceded in death by his father and stepfather.

MENNO -- Sharon Browne, 48, of Menno died Friday (Nov. 19, 2004) at Freeman Medical Center, Freeman.
Arrangements are under the direction of Aisenbrey-Kostel Funeral Home, Menno.
Ruth Held
WAKONDA -- Ruth A. Held, 80, of Wakonda and formerly of Yankton died Friday (Nov. 19, 2004) at Wakonda Heritage Manor, Wakonda.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Judith Sip
BOISE, Idaho -- Judith Sip, 66, of Boise, ID, formerly of Wagner, SD died December 28, 2004, at the Valley View Retirement Center in Boise, ID.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2004, at the United Methodist Church in Wagner. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Wagner.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner.
Judith Elvira (Ghyselinck) Sip was born November 4, 1938, in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Marcel Raymond and Anna (Beranek) Ghyselinck. She died Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at the Valley View Retirement Center in Boise, ID. Judith had attained the age of 66 years, one month and 24 days.
Judith attended grade school in Sioux City, IA and graduated from Sioux City Centennial High School in 1956. Judith received her associate degree in nursing from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Sioux City, IA and was employed there for several years.
Judith married Vernon Sip on November 2, 1964, at Avon, SD.
Judith was a homemaker and raised three daughters: Patricia, Lisa and Lori; and one son, Steven.
Judith will be remembered for her enjoyment of crafts and crocheting. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Judith loved the time she spent in retirement up in the mountain area of Boise, ID. She was residing in Boise, ID at the time of her death.
Thankful for having shared her life are her three daughters: Patricia (Dale) Auch of Magnolia, MN, Lisa (Paul) Schoenfelder of Boise, ID and Lori (Marc) Cerny of Dorchester, NE; husband, Vernon, of Wagner, SD; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sister Marcella (James) Norris of Milwaukee, WI.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents and loving son, Steven Sip on December 19, 2004.

KAYLOR -- James "Jim" Ded, 56, of Kaylor died Tuesday (Dec. 28, 2004) at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. George Catholic Church, Scotland. Burial is in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Cemetery, Vodnany.
Visitation is from 3-5:30 p.m. today (Thursday) at Goglin-Kelley Funeral Chapel, Scotland. Visitation resumes at 6 p.m. tonight at the church, with a wake service at 7 p.m.
Argyll Conner
Argyll E. Conner, 75, Yankton died Sunday (July 7, 2002) at Avera Yankton Care Center.
Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Friday at Ray, Cantrell & Wintz Funeral Home, Yankton with the Rev. Dean Trapp officiating. Burial is in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Yankton with military services provided by the Ernest-Bowyer VFW Post No. 791.
Visitation is from 1-9 p.m. Thursday with 7:30 p.m. Masonic services at the funeral home.
Clarence Jepson
VIBORG -- Clarence Jepson, 89, died December 24, 2004, at Pioneer Memorial Home in Viborg.
Services are Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Spring Valley Lutheran Church, rural Viborg.
Visitation is Monday from 1 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Viborg Funeral Home.
Survivors are his wife, Ruth, of Viborg; 2 daughters: Dawne (Dennis) Hartmann of Yankton and Sherry (Dale) Olson of Viborg; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Sylvia Christensen of Boise, ID.
Jack Kessler
MOBRIDGE - Funeral services for Jack Kessler, age 66, of Mobridge, SD will be today (Friday) at 3:00 p.m. at the United Congregational Church in Mobridge. The Rev. Keith Kraft will officiate the service, Margaret Stadel will be the organist and Vonnie Salzsiedler will present a solo. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.
Casket Bearers are Kirk Kessler, Darin Kessler, Greg Kessler, Derrick Kessler, Levi Aman and Miles Kessler.
Visitation will be today from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Kesling Funeral Home.
Mr. Kessler passed away December 28, 2004, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Jackie Bob Kessler was born on November 6, 1938, at Eureka, South Dakota, to Adam and Ida (Laemmle) Kessler. He attended his schooling and graduated from the Eureka High School in 1956. After his graduation, Jack entered the United States Navy and served his country until 1959. On November 5, 1961, he was united in marriage to Marlene Scheuffele at Long Lake, South Dakota.
Jack was employed by Montana Dakota Utilities for many years and resided in various places throughout his employment with them including Mobridge, South Dakota, and Sidney, Montana. He also resided in Yankton, South Dakota, for several years before returning to Mobridge in 2000 after his retirement.
Jack was an active member of the United Congregational Church in Mobridge where he was currently serving as Deacon since 2001. In his retirement, Jack enjoyed spending time on some of his hobbies included, fishing, hunting, watching baseball, fast-pitch softball and snowmobiling. Jack also worked as an EMT in Mobridge, and coached several successful softball teams, and was well liked as an umpire in the sport.
Grateful for having the privilege of sharing his life and love are: the mother of his six children, Marlene Kessler of Mobridge, SD; four sons: Greg Kessler of Denver, Colorado; Kirk Kessler and his wife, Chris, of Washington, D.C.; Darin Kessler and his wife, Mary, of Mobridge, SD; and Derrick Kessler of Fort Drum, N.Y.; one daughter, Debra Ann (Mrs. Kenny) Jensen of Mobridge, SD; one sister, Phyllis Ebel of Mobridge, South Dakota; and his grandchildren: Levi Aman, Miles Kessler, Dakotah Kessler, Grace Jensen, Stone Jensen and Seth and Makenzie Kessler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bobby Dean Kessler; and one brother, ElRoy Kessler.
Sharon Boehmer
NEWCASTLE, Neb. -- Sharon Boehmer, age 56, of Newcastle, NE, died on Friday, December 31, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, January 3, 2005, at the Gospel Chapel in Newcastle, NE, with Rev. Willie Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Newcastle.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the church.
Pallbearers are Ken Mueller, Dan Arens, Terry Woockman, Terry Wiedenfeld, Brett Wiedenfeld and Jeff Guenther.
Sharon was born on August 10, 1948, at Hartington to Raymond and Dorothy (Steffen) Wiedenfeld. She attended Grand Ridge Country School and graduated from Obert High School in 1966. She lived in Yankton for 3 years and worked as a nurse's aide. She married Richard Boehmer April 1, 1967, at Newcastle. In 1969 she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. They moved to Newcastle in 1972.
She started clowning in 1995 and belonged to the Sioux City Sillies. She was a board member of the Newcastle Youth Center, a member of the Sunny Circle Club, Newcastle Community Club, and the Gospel Chapel. She was a former member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Newcastle. She devoted her life to Jesus Christ, her daughters, Phyllis and Angie, and her 7 grandchildren. She fought a courageous battle against rheumatoid arthritis and bone cancer.
She is survived by her husband Richard of Pierce; 2 daughters and their husbands: Phyllis and Jason Trenhaile, Wayne; Angie and Bryan Tucker, Yuma, AZ; 7 grandchildren; 2 brothers and their wives: Jerry and Connie Wiedenfeld, Hartington; Mark and Patty Wiedenfeld, Hartington; 1 sister and her husband: Carol and Ken Guenther, Yankton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Timothy Stricker
MARTY -- Timothy H. Stricker Sr., 64, of Marty died Tuesday (Jan. 4, 2005) at the Community Memorial Hospital, Wagner.
Wake services began Wednesday at his home in Marty.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. Saturday at the Native American Church Cemetery, rural Greenwood.
