Timothy C. Schlaefli, age 24 of Yankton, SD, our beloved son and brother, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 as a result of a car accident in Centerville, IN. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 18th, 2012 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Yankton with Rev. Ken Lulf officiating. Burial will be in the Yankton Cemetery. Visitations will begin at 4 PM, Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton with a 7 PM wake service. Tim was born November 26, 1987, in Loveland, CO, to Rob and Lynn (Williams) Schlaefli and moved to Yankton in 1992. Tim graduated from Yankton High School in 2006.

Tim's smile would light up any room he entered. Above all, his family and friends came first. Family outings on the river, Mom's home-cooked meals, long chats with Dad, camping, fishing, hiking, frisbee golf, and road trips to music festivals with his friends were a few of the things that Tim enjoyed most. His unspoken bond with his mother will never be forgotten. He never left home without the reassurance of his mother's love; be it, through a big hug or an "I love you" whispered in his ear. His response then would always be, "Don't worry Mom, I'll be okay."

He loved playing his bass guitar; his passion for music cannot be emphasized enough. He enjoyed time spent and a good specialty beer with his big brother, Tyler, and his friends. He had a home-based computer business which he loved. He was always available to offer his friendship and knowledge of computer skills to his little brother, Cole. He enjoyed the pool parties at his sister's (Dee and Ryan's) home. His sister, Ashlee, has fond memories of his laughter and silly sense of humor. His nephew, Tryker, was always calmed by Tim's presence. Tim always greeted him with "Hey little buddy!"

Tim touched so many with his kind heart and humble personality. His arms were always open wide for wonderful strong hugs, each accompanied by an "I Love You".

A man who refused to be bound by what other people envision as the path of his life, Tim wanted nothing more than to experience this Earth on his terms. He will be forever missed.

He is survived by his Father and Mother, Brothers - Tyler and Cole Schlaefli, Sisters - DeAnna (Ryan) Hackett and Ashlee Schlaefli, all of Yankton, SD, and maternal grandmother - Wilma Williams of Ipswich, SD, including numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles & Virginia Schlaefli, grandfather, Virgil Williams, Deb Hines, uncles, Virgil Williams and Jim Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be directed to the Timothy Schlaefli Memorial Fund at the Services Center Federal Credit Union, 609 W. 21st Street, Yankton, SD 57078.
