Timothy Jon (TJ) Tucker, age 21, of Lincoln, NE died Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Lincoln, NE from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton, with Rev. Alan Wicks officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories, Yankton, SD. Visitations will be 5 to 7 PM, Thursday, at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, and then one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers are James Tucker, Jason Foss, Tucker Foss, Taylor Meshoto, Mike Macy and Barrett Haroldson.

Throughout his young life, TJ lived in Yankton, Sioux City, Kansas City, and Lincoln.
He was in a serious, and loving relationship with Jordan Prellwitz for the last 4+ years.
He was attending college with the goal of becoming a history teacher and also worked for the Performance Auto Group since December, 2010.

TJ was a caring and compassionate person who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
His smile would light up the room.
You couldn't help but like him once you talked to him.

TJ is survived by his girlfriend, Jordan Prellwitz of Lincoln, NE; his father and step mother, Jon & Patty Tucker of Lincoln, NE; mother, Audra Pearson of North Sioux City, IA; sister Morgan Tucker of Lincoln, NE; brothers, Larry Mason Dooley & Auden Rice of North Sioux City, IA; and Gavin Tucker of Lincoln; grandparents, Don & Ava Tucker of Yankton, SD; Tim & Janice Pearson of Tabor, SD; Robert & Virginia Macy of Yankton, SD; 7 uncles; 6 aunts; and 13 cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Howard & Alice Tucker, Mahlon & Lenora Hansen, Shirley and Oscar Laverne (Squeek) Nelson, and Nelse Pearson.

William Max Wallner, age 96 of Kenly, N.C. and formerly of Yankton passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton with Rev. Nathan Martin officiating.
Burial will be in the Yankton Cemetery with military graveside rites by Gingrich-Dixon American Legion Post #13 of Wakonda.
Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton is assisting with the arrangements.

William was born to William and Ella Irene (Sage) Wallner on April 30, 1916 in Yankton, SD.

William is survived by a son, Billy Wallner of Anchorage, AK; daughters, Margie Houser and Dorothy Wallner of Anchorage, AK and Ruth Creech of Kenly; step sons, Marty Janette of Alaska, Scott Janette of California and Brad Janette of Washington; step-daughter Carol Lery of Four Oaks; and fifteen grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Fae Wallner and children Carol Nelson and Shirley Wallner.

Florence F. Weber, age 92, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Manor, Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday September 25, 2012 at the United Church of Christ, Scotland, SD with Rev. Ron Shifley officiating.
Burial will be in the Garden of Memories, Yankton, SD at approximately 2:00 PM, Tuesday afternoon.
Visitations will begin at 5 PM, Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, with a Scripture service at 7:00 PM.
Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at the church in Scotland, SD.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Todd Weber, Jason Weber, Tim Weber, Darin McDonnel, Dan McDonnel and Torrey Sundall.

Florence was born on October 26, 1919 to Albert and Katie (Weidenbach) Mutschelknaus in Lesterville, SD.
She was baptized and confirmed at Petersburg Congregational, in rural Lesterville.
She graduated from Lesterville High School in May of 1937.
On September 3, 1939, Florence married Alvin E. Weber.
To this union three children were born, Jerry, Cheryl and John. She and Alvin farmed north of Lesterville until moving to Lesterville in the late 1960s, where they built a new home.

After moving to Yankton, Florence worked for Guerney's Seed and Nursery, Alco and Walmart.
She enjoyed having coffee at Sunshine with her friends. She was involved in Home Extension, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Scotland Ladies Aid. But most of all, church, family, and her grandchildren are who she enjoyed and treasured most.
She moved to Sioux Falls in 2006.

Florence is survived by her son, Jerry Weber of Gayville, SD, her daughter Cheryl McDonnel, of Sioux Falls, SD, 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, a sister, Edna Mogck of MI and daughter-in-law, Carol Weber of Dallas, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, her son, John in November of 2007, her parents, bothers, Morris and Oscar Mutschelknaus, and sisters, Mathilda Mehrer and Alice Braunesreither.

Howard "Tag" Wheeler, age 83, of Yankton, SD, passed away early Monday, December 10, 2012 at his residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, December 14, 2012 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Yankton, with Rev. Ken Lulf officiating.
Burial will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery, Bloomfield, NE at approximately 1:30 PM Friday afternoon.
Visitations will begin at 5:00 PM, Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, with a Scripture service at 7:30 PM.
Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.

Tag was born July 28, 1929 in Yankton, South Dakota to Wealthy Mae Wheeler.
He attended Northview Country School and High School in Bloomfield and Niobrara, Nebraska.
He served in the US Navy; returning home from the service to help his uncle farm.
He married Veda Broders and lived the joys and sorrows of life together for 63 years.
They lived and worked in California for 2 years before returning to the Bloomfield/Crofton area to farm.
They lived in rural Crofton until retiring to Yankton.
Tag enjoyed his family, friends and great neighbors as well as his hobbies of baseball and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Veda of Yankton, SD; children: Kathy(Bob) Bozied of Denver, CO, Bo (Patty) Wheeler of Crofton, NE, Mary Beth (Dale) Schenkel of Yankton, SD, Dan Wheeler of Sioux Falls, SD, Faith Ann Wheeler and fiancée Rafael Perez of Rapid City, SD; and also 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his 5 year old son, Douglas in 1964, and his mother, Wealthy Mae Wheeler.
He will be missed by a host of family and friends.

Lydia White, age 96, of Yankton passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton, SD.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Riverview Reformed Church, Yankton, with Rev. Rod Veldhuizen officiating.
Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Scotland, SD approximately at 1:30 PM.
Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers are her grandsons: Barry Hollman, Darrin Kozak, Mike Kozak, Chris Kozak, Mark White, Wayne White, and Eric White.

Lydia Marie Bender Oorlog White was born April 13, 1916 to Jacob & Rosina (Heihn) Bender in the sod house on the Bender homestead south of Scotland, South Dakota.
She was baptized in the Scotland Reformed Church and confirmed in the Salem Reformed Church in Menno, South Dakota.
She attended Plattner School district No. 13 south of Scotland, South Dakota through the eighth grade.

Her mother passed away when she was 11 years old and she continued to live with her father and brothers on the homestead until January 26, 1936 when she married Henry Oorlog.
They made their home in Olivet, SD for 30 years.
While there, Lydia attended the Olivet Evangelical United Brethren Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Aid.
She was employed part time at the Wintersteen, Shaeffer & Kratz grocery stores.
Lydia was also a postal clerk at the Olivet post office the last three years while living in Olivet.

Due to her husband's illness, they moved to Yankton, SD in 1961, where she was employed at the Human Services Center for 14-1/2 years.
Her husband passed away in October, 1966; at this time Lydia pursued and received her G.E.D.

In 1968, Lydia joined the Riverview Park Reformed Church.
On August 4, 1972, she married Thomas White of rural Gayville, SD where they lived on the farm until 1991 when they moved to Yankton, SD with Tom passing away on March 9, 2001.

She is survived by her daughter, Nyla (DeWayne) Kozak of LeMars, IA; step-daughter, Phyllis White of Gayville, SD; step-son, Warren (Mary) White of Yankton, SD; step-daughter -in-law, Rose White of North Platte, NE; grandchildren: Mike Pulkrabek of Black Hawk, SD, Barry (Louise) Hollman of Yankton, SD, Darrin (Kathy) Kozak of Glidden, IA, Mike Kozak of LeMars, IA, Chris (Dena) Kozak of Sioux City, IA, Wayne White of Yankton, SD, Mark White of Vermillion, SD, Alicia White Herchenhan of North Platte, NE, and Eric White of North Platte, NE; ten great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one sister, five brothers, her daughter, Darlene Hollman and her husband Robert Hollman, stepson, Merit White, and her granddaughter, Thea Pulkrabek.

Daniel C. Winter, age 77 of Scotland, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center, Scotland, SD.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Menno with Rev. David Ellis officiating.
Burial will be in the Menno Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Rames-Bender American Legion Post #152, Menno.
Visitations will be from 5-8 PM, Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Aisenbrey-Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel, Menno.
Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Gordon Clark, Howard Knodel, Kenneth Aisenbrey, Roger Simonsen, David Harnisch, and Paul Loneman.

Daniel was born September 13, 1935 to Cornelius E. and Esther L. (Schulz) Winter in Jasper, MN.
He attended school in Menno and entered into the United States Air Force in October 1953.
While in the Air Force, he served at many air bases including Lackland, Lowry, Eglin, Kedena (Okinawa) and Johns Air Force Base in Japan.
He was honorably discharged in October 1961.
He worked in Denver, CO for a time before moving back to Yankton.
In 2009, he moved to Menno due to his ailing health then entered the Good Samaritan Center in Scotland.
Dan enjoyed fishing, hunting, archery and especially photography.

Dan is survived by his brother, Bob Winter of Menno, SD and his cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Alton Nieman, age 93, of Yankton, SD, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, SD.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Peace Presbyterian Church, Yankton, with Rev. Marilyn Stone officiating.
Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery, Scotland, SD with Military Graveside Rites by the Paul Grosshuesch VFW Post #2966 and the SDARNG Honor Guard of Sioux Falls, SD at approximately 1:15 PM. Visitations will begin at 5:00 PM, Tuesday evening at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, with the family present at 7:00 PM.
Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Carol Richelieu, Sharon Richelieu, John Richelieu, Alan Richelieu, Nathan Nieman and Joshua Nieman.

Alton was born on May 31, 1919 at Olivet, SD to Steve and Fannie (Dean) Nieman.
He graduated from Olivet High School and joined the Army in 1942.
He was with the 90th Division Field Artillery in the Normandy Invasion.
He was awarded a Bronze Service Arrowhead and 5 battle stars. He married Alma Neuharth in Menno, SD on November 18, 1945.
They farmed in the Olivet area until 1957 when they moved to the Scotland area until 1968, when they quit farming and moved to Yankton.
Alton worked for Freeman Company for 12 years when he retired.
He and his wife enjoyed playing pinochle with many other couples, gardening, and crafts.
His wife died in 2007, and in October of 2009, he entered the Avera Sister James Care Center.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Don) Richelieu of Irene, SD; son, Roger (Monica) Nieman of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Carol Richelieu of Sioux Falls, SD, Sharon Richelieu of Sioux Falls, SD, John Richelieu, of Irene, Alan (Cassie) Richelieu of Irene, SD, Nathan Nieman, of Omaha, NE Joshua Nieman of Omaha, NE; his brother, Chester Nieman of Long Beach, CA; sisters-in-law, Verlinda Huber of Corvallis, OR, Erna (LaVern of Decker, Hartford, SD; Alice Neuharth of Lubbock, TX, Viona (Luverne) Buehner of Canistota, SD, Betty Neuharth of Menno, SD; Virginia (Phillip) Neuharth of Menno, SD, Arlene Walz of Menno, SD, Jean Stevenson of Omaha, NE; brothers-in-law, Victor Schneider of Huron, SD, Gideon Schultz of Yankton, SD; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Marvin Nieman, sister, Amelia Engel, sisters-in-law, Eileen Binder, Eleanor Neuharth, Beatha Stevenson, Gertie Neuharth, Ida Schneider, Elda Schultz, Norma Neuharth, brothers-in-law, Art Engel, Leon Neuharth, Lloyd Stevenson, Ray Neuharth, Harvey Huber, Elmer Neuharth, Marvin Neuharth, Walter Walz, and one nephew, Donald Engel.

Francis L. (Chris) Christensen, age 75, of Yankton, died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN.
Memorial Service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, Yankton, SD with Rev. Ron Johnson officiating.
Burial of cremated remains will be in the Yankton Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton with a Prayer service at 7:00 PM.
Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.

Chris was born May 31, 1937 in Milford, Iowa. He married Sherril Seaman on November 22, 1956 in Spencer, IA.
They spent many of their early years of marriage in Spring Valley, CA where Chris worked as an engineer for Rohr Aircraft.
In May of 1973 he moved his family to Yankton, SD.
Here he began a new career as a jeweler and co-owner (eventually owner) of Meredith's Jewelry.

Chris enjoyed ballroom dancing, following all the activities of his granddaughters, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge and an active member of the First United Methodist Church.

Chris's memory is cherished by his wife of 56 years, Sherril; his daughter, Kathy (Ray) Campbell of Yankton, SD; son, Dennis of San Jose, CA; his granddaughters: Kristal Campbell of Sioux Falls, SD, Rochelle Campbell of Denver, CO, Abiane Campbell of Denver, CO, Stephanie Campbell, student of NSU in Aberdeen, SD, and his brother, Ted J. (Mary Ann) Christensen of Oxnard, CA, and family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise (Bauer) Christensen, grandson, Gabriel Lee Campbell, and many aunts and uncles.
