Robert P. Erickson

CUSTER — Robert P. Erickson, 86, Custer, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Erickson, Custer; two sons, Paul Erickson, Denver, and Ralph Erickson, St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Dorothy McMeen, Gregory; and one brother, Donald Erickson, Los Angeles.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to the time of services, which will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Ruedebusch officiating.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. (CST) Thursday, March 8, at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell.

Behrens Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Jason Clifford Neill

RAPID CITY — Jason Clifford Neill, 29, Rapid City, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include his mother, Lorraine Rega, Rapid City; two brothers, Delmer Neill and Cory Rega, both of Rapid City; three sisters, Melanie Stephens and Shellie Thompson, both of Rapid City, and Delana Davis, Black Hawk; and his grandmother, Doris Collins, Rapid City.

Arrangements are pending with Behrens Mortuary.

Robert O. Jones

RAPID CITY — Robert O. Jones, 70, Rapid City, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at the Chandler Hospital in Chandler, Ariz.

He was born Nov. 22, 1930, at Platte, S.D., the son of Delmar and Alvera (Pipal) Jones. He moved to Spearfish with his family at the age of 6 and to Rapid City when he was 11. He graduated from Rapid City High School in 1948. Following high school graduation, he lived in Arizona and traveled in the southwestern area of the United States prior to returning to Rapid City in 1955. Bob married Beverly Busch on Dec. 9, 1955, in Rapid City. In 1957, Bob and M.J. Larkin established the Larkin & Jones Appliance Store in Rapid City. He retired in 1986.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF & AM

No. 25, the Shrine Club and the Najacks and was active with the Hospital Division of the Shrine. He was also a Lifemember of Elks Lodge 1187 and a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church. He was active in many civic affairs and had served on the Board of SCORE. Bob enjoyed traveling and playing golf.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly J. Jones; two sons, Steve Jones and his wife, Darla, and Dave Jones and his wife, Nancy Jo; two grandchildren, Casey Jones and Jessie Jones, all of Rapid City; and a sister, Phyllis Bahr, Eden Prairie, Minn.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Jones, who died in infancy.

Visitation will be from

4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, with family members present from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home. A Masonic ritual will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at the Calvary Lutheran Church, with Rev. Dwight Stensgaard officiating.

Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Shriner's Hospital Travel Trust.

Eileen McDonald

PIERRE — Eileen McDonald, 76, Pierre, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Bob and Mark, both of Pierre; two daughters, Michele

McDonald, Rapid City, and Karen Shotwell, Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers, Ron Jacobs, Sisseton, and Don Jacobs, Wilmer, Minn.; one sister, Marcian Locker, Houston; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from

6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, today at Hofmeister Funeral Home in Pierre. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pierre, with the Rev. Hal Barber officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Pierre.

Signey Jones

BELLE FOURCHE — Signey Jones, 98, Belle Fourche and formerly of Newell, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Belle Fourche Long Term Health Care Center.

Survivors include one son, Leroy Scofield, Faith; one daughter, Dorothy May Millslagle, Greeley, Colo.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at a later date.

Kline-Frost Funeral Chapel of Belle Fourche is in charge of arrangements.

Julia T. Combs

RAPID CITY — Julia T. Combs, 94, Rapid City, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at a local nursing home.

Survivors include a special friend, Margaret Jung, Rapid City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City. A Christian wake will be at

7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 8, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City, with the Rev. David Orians presiding. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo.

Robert P. Erickson

Richard M. Hoar

HOT SPRINGS — Richard M. Hoar, 78, Hot Springs, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Hot Springs Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Arrangements are pending with Isburg-McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.

Myrtle J. Huettl

RAPID CITY — Myrtle J. Huettl, 94, Rapid City, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at a local nursing home.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Cords, Cheyenne, Wyo.; two sons, Clete Huettl, Rapid City, and Mike Huettl, Ridgefield, Wash.; and one sister, Clara Carter, Sioux Falls.

Arrangements are pending with Rooks & Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City.

Lori Ann Donovan

RAPID CITY — Lori Ann Donovan was born Dec. 29, 1967, at Kadoka, the daughter of Joseph E. and Linda A. (Livermont) Stoddard. She grew up on a ranch northwest of Norris and attended Long Valley Elementary School before graduating from Kadoka High School in 1986. During her senior year, she was the South Dakota High School Rodeo Girl's Cattle Cutting Champion. She received an associate degree from Western Dakota Vo-Tech and continued her education to earn a bachelor's degree in business management from National American University in May 2000.

Lori has made her home in Rapid City since 1993. She devoted much of her time volunteering at the Homework Hotline for South Middle School, the YMCA and the Rapid City Police Department.

Lori attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral in Rapid City.

Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons, Kyle Stoddard of Norris and Tanner Donovan of Rapid City; her parents, Joseph E. "Joe" and Linda A. "Wink" Stoddard of Norris; a sister, Jodi Stoddard-O'Daniel; her husband, Wade, and their children, Klay, Kole and Kate, all of Oglala; a brother, Sam Stoddard of Norris; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Mass of Christian Burial for Lori Ann Donovan, age 33, of Rapid City, and formerly of Norris, will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2001, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka, with Father Bill Pauly, SJ, as celebrant, assisted by Father Neal Wilkinson, SJ, and Deacon Gene Heckathorne.

Lori died Wednesday afternoon as a result of a car-pedestrian accident in Rapid City.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, March 4, 2001, with a vigil service scheduled at 7 p.m., all at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka, and one hour before the services at the church on Monday.

Arrangements are with Rush Funeral Chapel of Kadoka, South Dakota.

Baxter Holben

SWEET HOME, Ore. — Baxter Holben of Sweet Home, Ore., and formerly of Spearfish, died Feb. 25, 2001. He was born Dec. 20, 1922.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Edith (Baxter) Holben, formerly of Spearfish. He is survived by his wife, Maxine (Renegar) Holben of Sweet Home, also formerly of Spearfish.

Arthur J. Wenzlick Jr.

KEYSTONE — Arthur J. Wenzlick Jr., 72, Keystone, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Survivors include his wife, Erlys Wenzlick, Keystone; five sons, Larry Wenzlick, Keystone, Richard, Gary and James Wenzlick, all of Johnson Creek, Wis., and Dale Wenzlick, Brunswick, Maine; two daughters, Vicki Wenzlick, Denton, Texas, and Kathleen Fisher, Burlington, N.J.; two brothers, Richard Wenzlick, Castlewood, and Donald Wenzlick, Belleview, Neb.; three sisters, Ruth Dobratz, Watertown, Wis., Shirley Abbott, West Alice, Wis., and Donna Potyandy, Orlando, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 5, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hermosa, with the Rev. Herb Cleveland officiating. Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, with military honors provided by the Ellsworth Air Force Base honor guard.

Wilbert L. 'Sonny' Yellow Horse Jr.

OGLALA — Wilbert L. "Sonny" Yellow Horse Jr., 56, Oglala, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Yellow Horse, Oglala; three sons, Leonard Yellow Horse, Phoenix, and Dino and Faron Yellow Horse, both of Oglala; adopted son, Leon Ladeaux, Manderson; two daughters, Roberta Little Spotted Horse and Rosa Yellow Horse, both of Oglala; two adopted daughters, Lavetta Little Spotted Horse, Oglala, and Carrie Brave Heart, Calico; a brother, Delbert Yellow Horse, Pine Ridge; three sisters, Ruth Cuny and Iris Yellow Horse, both of Rapid City, and Elmarie Boyd, Rome, N.Y.; and 11 grandchildren.

A two-night wake will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Loneman School in Oglala.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 5, at Loneman School in Oglala, with the Rev. Ben Tyon officiating. Burial will be at Christ Church Cemetery at Red Shirt Table.

Verne L. Doyle

PHOENIX — Verne L. Doyle, 69, Phoenix, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Doyle, Phoenix; two daughters, Christy, Santa Barbara, Calif., and Beth, Salem, Ore.; and a son, Mike, Smyrna, Ga.; a brother, Merlyn, Wall; a sister, Patty, Alamosa, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

A Mass was held Monday, Feb. 19, at St. Joseph's Church in Phoenix. Burial will be at a later date at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
