Nathan Vaughn Dreamer

OGLALA - Nathan Vaughn Dreamer, 36, Oglala, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharee Dreamer, Rapid City; one son, Eric Corbine Jr., Rapid City; seven brothers, Al Dreamer Jr., Gabe Dreamer and Harley Dreamer, all of Oglala, George Dreamer, Pine Ridge, Todd Dreamer and Pete Switzer, both of Rapid City, and Orrin Wing, Cortez, Colo.; six sisters, Rhonda Dreamer, Rochelle Dreamer and Rose Dreamer, all of Oglala, Roxie Whirl Wind Horse, Pine Ridge, Rachel Dreamer, Washington, and Troy Lynn Yellow Wood, Denver; his father, Al Dreamer Sr., Oglala; his stepmother, Delores Dreamer, Oglala; and his mother, Norma Walks Out, Oglala.

A two-night wake will begin at 1 p.m. today at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala. The second-night wake will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Loneman School gym in Oglala.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the school gym, with the Rev. Asa Wilson, the Rev. Tommy Carpenter and the Rev. Clarence Rowland officiating.

Burial will be at Makasan Presbyterian Cemetery in Oglala.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Benjamin 'Ben' Kleinschmidt

BLUN - Benjamin "Ben" Kleinschmidt, 91, Blunt, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at St. Mary's Emergency Room in Pierre.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Kleinschmidt, Blunt; two sons, Robert Kleinschmidt, Spokane, Wash., and Roland Kleinschmidt, Harrold; two daughters, Ruth Nelson, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Charlotte O'Dea, Midland; 21 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Chester Kleinschmidt, Pierre.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer and Masonic service, at Feigum Funeral Home in Pierre.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 1, at United Methodist Church in Blunt.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blunt.

Bonnie G. Peterson

B0ELLE FOURCHE - Bonnie G. Peterson, 46, rural Belle Fourche, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Peterson, Belle Fourche; her mother and stepfather, Mavis and Joe Upton, Denver; two sons, Tony and Lonnie; two sisters, Trisha and Jackie; and one brother, Michael.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Feb. 27, and will continue from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche and for one hour before services today at Christian Life Center's Fireside Room in Belle Fourche.

Services will be at 7 p.m. today at the Fireside Room, with the Rev. Paul Howard officiating.

Dora Fay Glodt

RAPID CITY - Dora Fay Glodt, 68, Rapid City, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Glodt, Rapid City; two sons, Larry Glodt and John Glodt, both of Rapid City; one daughter, Velma Klapkin, Rapid City; two brothers, Jack Axsom, Gettysburg, and Jim Axsom, Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Celeste J. Helgen

RAPID CITY - Celeste J. Helgen, 76, of Rapid City died Sunday, February 24, 2002, at her home.

She is survived by one son, James Helgen and his wife Erika of Fort Worth, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Mary-Ellen Helgen of Rapid City; two brothers, Ralph Edward Cook of Warrenton, Mo., and Harold Henry Cook of Sonoma, Calif.; one sister, Mildred C. Simon of Warrenton, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents; one son, John Andrew Helgen; and one brother, Wesley LeRoy Cook.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2002, at Kirk Funeral Home's Chapel of Light in Rapid City, with the Rev. Brent Woodard officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Warrenton, Mo.

Kirk Funeral Home of Rapid City is in charge of arrangements.

Jesse Lenton Barton

SPEARFISH - Jesse Lenton Barton, 81, Spearfish, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include one son, Jerold Barton, Crystal, Minn.; two daughters, Judith Sonntag, Luverne, Minn., and Jayne Thompson, Rapid City; three sisters, Bessie Gosch and Beatrice Grandpre, both of Aberdeen, and Edith Gange, Mellette; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

His wife, Rena Ellwein Barton, preceded him in death.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945.

Visitation with family present will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home in Spearfish.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Spearfish, with the Rev. Gene Bauman officiating.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. CST Saturday, March 2, at Morningside Cemetery in Roscoe.

A memorial has been established.

Junette Neuroth Walker

PIERRE - Junette Neuroth Walker, 63, Pierre, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Walker, Pierre; two sons, Vincent Walker, Hughes Springs, Texas, and Leslie Walker, Shingle Springs, Calif.; two daughters, Vevette Walker, Pierre, and Michaela Walker, San Diego; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy Ulin, Sioux Falls, and Cheryl Olomon, Boliver, Mo.; and one brother, Richard Neuroth, Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. Scripture prayer service, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pierre.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 1, at the church.

Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Pierre.

Feigum Funeral Home of Pierre is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Countryside Hospice, 800 E. Dakota, Pierre, SD 57501.

Oliver William Marson

STURGIS - Oliver William Marson, 76, Sturgis, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in Opelousas, La.

Survivors include his wife, Ellie Lee Marson, Sturgis; one son, Oliver Marson, San Angelo, Texas; three daughters, Rhoda Summers, Morrow, La., Deborah Cook, Franklinton, La., and Myra Lanthier, Palmer, Alaska; one brother, Donald Marson, Denham Springs, La.; one sister, Evelyn Stewart, Baton Rouge, La.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Morrow Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dub Hughes officiating.

Graveside services will be Monday, March 4, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home of Sturgis is in charge of local arrangements.

Richard 'Dick' John Bagan

RAPID CITY - Richard "Dick" John Bagan, 80, Rapid City, died Tuesday, February 26, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

He was born May 26, 1921, in Henry, S.D., to Thomas Bagan and Mary Riley Bagan, next to the youngest of 11 brothers and sisters.

He was raised in Watertown, S.D., and attended school there.

He entered 34th Signal Company National Guard, served in World War II, and the National Guard in Rapid City from 1948 to 1950. After discharge, he attended college at Vermillion for one year. Transferred to the South Dakota School of Mines, graduated with a BA degree in geology (1950) and Master's in geological engineering (1953). Worked for U.S. Gypsum, Bariad Well logging service, Globe Mining Co. and Union Carbide.

He married Lorraine (Ready) in 1947 in Rapid City at the Cathedral Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Richard J. Bagan Jr.; one infant daughter; parents; six sisters; three brothers; in-laws Lawrence and Evelyn Ready; and one sister-in-law, Lois Ray.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Bagan of Rapid City, and one sister, Nellie Karnmann of Watertown, S.D.

Visitation will be Friday, March 1, 2002, from noon to 1 p.m. at Behrens Mortuary.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 1, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Behrens Mortuary, with Father Dan Juelfs.

Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Behrens Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Rosalyn Mae Metz

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Rosalyn Mae Metz, 61, of Gaithersburg, Maryland (formerly of Hill City), died Friday, February 22, 2002, at the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2002, at the Custer Cemetery in Custer.

Rosie was born October 12, 1940, in Boise, Idaho, to Virgil and Eunice (Hatch) Metz. She joined a brother, Jerry Metz. She attended grade school in Keystone, S.D., and graduated from Hill City High School in 1959. She worked for the Hill City Zoo and the telephone company. In 1960, she joined the Navy for four years, being transferred to Washington D.C. Rosie resided in Maryland, making her career computer programming. She worked for Naval Security having top security clearance, Woodward & Lathrop, and IBM until the time of her death.

Survivors include four nieces, Nita Kester of Custer, Sharon Kester and Dessy Metz of Colstrip, Mont., and Jacky Easton of Hoyt, Kan., and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister in law, two great nephews and a great-niece.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel of Custer.

Myrtle 'Myrt' Loughlin

BELLE FOURCHE - Myrtle "Myrt" Loughlin, 88, Belle Fourche, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002.

Survivors include two sons, Jack Loughlin, Bison, and Brett Loughlin, Belle Fourche; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.

Fred H. Kuypers

REDLANDS, Calif. - Fred H. Kuypers died February 22, 2002, in Redlands, Calif., of complications from a fall at the age of 90.

He was born March 19, 1911, in Grand Rapids, Mich., and grew up in Pasadena, Calif., and graduated from Colorado Western State College in Gunnison, Colo. Fred was a longtime resident of the Black Hills and a manager for Pacific Fruit & Produce Company for over 30 years. He and his wife, Betty, owned and operated Pine Crest Lodge at Pactola Lake. Fred and Betty also lived for three years in Alaska before returning to reside in Hill City. He was a noted fisherman and was a member of the Hill City Masonic Lodge, the Shrine, and the Rapid City Rotary. His first wife, Margaret Owen, died in 1938. She taught English at Colorado Western State and was a reporter for the Denver Post. His wife, Betty, died in 1981. In later years he and his wife, Vicki, divided their time between residences at Sheridan Lake and Yucaipa, Calif. They enjoyed cruising the world, ballroom dancing, golfing, and his favorite sport, fishing. Memorial services will be held in Yucaipa, California, and at the gravesite in Hill City. Burial will be at Hill City Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Vicki, of Yucaipa, Calif., and two sons, Tom, of

St. Charles, Mo., and John, of Portland, Ore., many grandchildren and a large and loving extended family.

Arrangements are being made through Emerson Bartlett in Yucaipa, Calif. Remembrances to the Hill City Library.
