Luella Halseth Bohrer

HUDSON — Luella H. Bohrer, 82, former Rapid City resident, died at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home at Hudson, S.D., Friday, Feb. 22, 2002.

Luella was born May 16, 1919, on a farm near Alpena, S.D., the daughter of Henry and Etta Schocker. She graduated from high school at Madison, S.D., and attended General Beadle College at Madison. Luella married Ronald Halseth on Aug. 17, 1941. Their early years were spent farming, and in 1957 they moved to Rapid City, where they owned and operated the Western Bar. Ronald died on Oct. 4, 1990. She married Kress Bohrer on April 19, 1997. He died in July of 1999. Luella continued to live in Rapid City until May of 2001, when she moved to a rest home at Arlington, S.D., to be close to family. She was a member of the South Canyon Lutheran Church. She was also a member and past president of Does Drove No. 33 in Rapid City. She was an avid bowler and was active in the cancer recovery program.

Survivors include a sister, Delores Leighton, Madison, S.D., and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home, with Rev. Layne Nelson officiating. Interment will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery.

Arlene M. Simons Perry

RAPID CITY — Arlene M. Simons Perry, 72, of Rapid City died Wednesday, February 20, 2002, at her home.

She is survived by children, Sherri Riss of Rapid City, Bruce Davison of Rapid City, Guy Davison of Rapid City, Julie Ginn of Hay Springs, Neb., and Christal Grimm; sister, Joan \Goodie\ Brynjulson of Henderson, Nev.; three brothers, Ardell Simons of Spearfish, Warren Simons of Aurora, Colo., and Bill Simons of Aurora, Colo.; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Blanche Estelle (Bradley) Simons, and two brothers, Richard and Mark \Seets\ Simons.

Visitation will be held 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2002, at Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home in Sturgis, followed by a rosary service at 7 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis. Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2002, at the church. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Sturgis.

Arrangements are with Kirk Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Lester Ray Lackey

SPEARFISH — Lester Ray Lackey, 77, Spearfish, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Lackey, Spearfish; one son, Larry Lackey, Warner Robins, Ga.; three daughters, E. Faith Maynard, Mitchell, Monica Albrecht, Rapid City, and Dolly Venables, Huron; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, with family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home in Spearfish, and for one hour before services Monday, Feb. 25, at United Methodist Church in Spearfish.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Kip Roozen officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish.

Memorials may be given to United Methodist Church or Salvation Army, both of Spearfish.

Adrienne duBois Wilkinson

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Adrienne duBois Wilkinson, 51, died Feb. 9, 2002, at her home in Hollywood, Fla.

She graduated in 1968 in Rapid City and worked many years at SCI Systems.

Survivors include her husband, Ron Wilkinson, Hollywood, Fla.; her mother, Lee Schnell, Rapid City; one sister, Michele Petersen, Fairfield, Va.; and two brothers, Frank duBois, New Zealand, and Charles duBois, Hollywood, Fla.

Her father, the Rev. Charles duBois, preceded her in death.

Her body was cremated and her ashes were scattered at sea.

Ilene Schied

HARROLD — Ilene Schied, 68, Harrold, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Reck Funeral Home in Miller.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at First United Methodist Church in Miller, with the Rev. Richard Gould officiating.

Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Miller.

Santana Sioux Standing Bear

MARTIN — Santana Sioux Standing Bear, 22, Martin, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, in Allen.

Survivors include three sisters, Alicia Bear Robe, Susan Bear Robe and Brittney Bear Robe, all of Martin, and his parents, Isadore Poor Thunder and Patricia Richards, both of Martin.

A two-night wake will begin at noon Sunday, Feb. 24, at Martin CAP Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the CAP, with the Rev. Jeff Cisco officiating. Burial will be at Black Eyes Community Cemetery.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Marie Lauing

HOT SPRINGS - Marie Lauing, 94, Hot Springs and formerly of Blunt, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Castle Manor in Hot Springs.

Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Schwarz, Spearfish, Viley Reed, Fort Pierre, and Ollie Williams and Suzanne Lockhart, both of Hot Springs; one son, Bernard Lauing, Blunt; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Henry Lauing, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Feigum Funeral Home in Pierre.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at United Methodist Church in Blunt.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blunt.

Elizabeth Julius Wood

RAPID CITY - Elizabeth Julius Wood, 94, Rapid City, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Wesleyan Health Care Center in Rapid City.

Survivors include one son, Robert Julius, Sturgis; one daughter, Marlene Bisek, Rapid City; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 21, and will continue for one hour before services today at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the funeral chapel, with Chaplain Herbert Cleveland officiating.

Burial will follow at West Lead Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Youth & Family Services, P.O. Box 2813, Rapid City, SD 57709.

Arlene M. Simons Perry

RAPID CITY - Arlene M. Simons Perry, 72, Rapid City, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at her home.

Survivors include three daughters, Julie Ginn, Hay Springs, Neb., and Christal Grimm and Sherri Riss, both of Rapid City; two sons, Bruce Davison and Guy Davison, both of Rapid City; one sister, Joan Brynjulson, Henderson, Nev.; three brothers, Ardell Simons, Spearfish, and Warren Simons and Bill Simons, both of Aurora, Colo.; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Kirk Funeral Home of Rapid City.

William Alfred Palmer Sr.

PIERRE - William Alfred Palmer Sr., 85, Pierre, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at

Oahe Manor in Gettysburg.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Palmer, Pierre; one son, William Palmer, Pierre; two daughters, Robin Premus, Harlingen, Texas, and Vicki Thronson, Glenham; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eva Roth, Pierre, and Ione Bates, Martin.

Services will be at 11 a.m. CST Saturday, Feb. 23, at Congregational United Church of Christ in Pierre, with the Rev. Roger Easland officiating.

Feigum Funeral Home of Pierre is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Boys and Girls Club, 110 Ree St., Pierre, SD 57501.

Gene C. Hoffman

SILVER CITY - Gene C. Hoffman, 52, Silver City, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Hoffman, Silver City; two brothers, Stephen Hoffman, Silver City, and Mark Hoffman, Tampa, Fla.; and one sister, Therese Adam, Lead.

Arrangements are pending with Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Anna M. Spry

RAPID CITY - Anna M. Spry, 43, Rapid City, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, in Rapid City.

Survivors include one sister, Laurie Spry, Homosassa, Fla.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City and for one hour before services Monday, Feb. 25, at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Rapid City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Jim Sorum officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Rapid City.

Hiram J. Woodard

KADOKA - Hiram J. Woodard, 85, Kadoka, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Kadoka Care Center.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Woodard, Kadoka; two stepsons, Vernon Richardson and Reed Richardson, both of Long Valley; two stepdaughters, Carol Duval, Helena, Mont., and Mary Tieskotter, Preston, Minn.; eight stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Clinton Woodard, Scottsburg, Ore., and Stanley Barber, Rapid City; and one sister, Janice Ruyle, Ouray, Calif.

His first wife, Dorothy Irene Arnold, preceded him in death.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Rush Funeral Chapel in Kadoka and for one hour before services Saturday, Feb. 23, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kadoka.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Paul Bly officiating.

Burial, with military honors by American Legion Post No. 240 of Martin and Masonic rites by Pioneer Lodge No. 219 of Martin, will be at Kadoka Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
