Louise 'Squirt' Dennis
RAPID CITY - Louise "Squirt" Dennis, 73, of Rapid City, died Saturday, February 9, 2002, at her home.
Louise was born May 19, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, to John and Mildred (Sweitzer) Becker. As a longtime resident of Rapid City, she worked with the Head Start Program and was also a school bus driver and monitor for special needs children until she retired.
She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1273 Auxiliary in Rapid City and the Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliary.
She is survived by her five sons, George Branesky Jr., Mandan, N.D., David Branesky, Valdosta, Georgia, Ray Branesky, Kansas City, Mo., Dennis Branesky, Salina, Kan., and Jack Branesky, Indianapolis, Ind.; her daughter, Cindy Schmidt, Belleville, Ill.; one brother, George Becker, Sun City, Ariz.; a grandson, Christopher Freeman, Spearfish; a granddaughter, DeeAnn Coss, Oshkosh, Neb.; 19 other grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vivan Dennis; a daughter, Valerie Halls; and a brother, William Becker.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home with Chaplain James Marrs officiating. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
A memorial has been established.
Doris Mae Simpson
RAPID CITY - Doris Mae Simpson, 74, went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 10, 2002, after a lengthy struggle with cancer, surrounded by family at home.
She was born on February 26, 1927, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Alta and James Burns. Doris graduated from Central Wesleyan Academy, Central South Carolina and the University of Alabama as a registered nurse.
Doris accepted a position as college nurse at Indiana Wesleyan University, where she met her future husband. On May 7, 1949, she married Frank Simpson in Birmingham. The couple established their home in Rapid City, where Doris worked as a clinical nurse for Dr. Bailey and Dr. Hare. Doris and Frank began a lifelong adventure as partners in business with their family, beginning with the establishment of Simpson's Printing in 1965.
She was a charter member of the Fountain Springs Community Church and gave of herself in the service of the Lord.
She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who modeled a life of character and faith to her sons and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Frank; five sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Kathy, Paul and Terri, Mark and Kathy, Jim and Jayne, and Dave and Val; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.
A celebration of the life of Doris Simpson will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Fountain Springs Community Church, with Rev. Dwight Robertson and Rev. Wesley Smith officiating.
A memorial has been established.

FORT LARAMIE, Wyo. - Ray E. Guest, 86, Fort Laramie, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Kirkwood Manor in Pluma, S.D.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Guest, Fort Laramie; four daughters, Berniece Sexton, Sturgis, S.D., Joyce Ritchie, Gillette, Donna Janssen, Richmond, Va., and Barbara Conlon, Lake Charles, La.; one son, Keith Guest, Eagle Point, Ore.; two stepdaughters, Linda Price, Edgemont, S.D., and Marcia Torgrude, Lead, S.D.; two stepsons, Thomas Miller, Lead, and Dennis Miller, Minnesota; one brother, Coy Guest, Henry, Neb.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Leopold H. 'Lee' Kolb
BISON - Leopold H. "Lee" Kolb, 87, Bison, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at Hillcrest Care Center in Hettinger, N.D.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Kolb, Bison; three stepsons, Dean LaDue, Keldron, Gary LaDue, Prairie City, and Bob
Nelson, Brandon, Ore.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Reinhold Kolb, Albert Kolb, Herbert Kolb and Walter Kolb; and three sisters, Helen Sperle, Emma Lutz and Edna Martin.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger, and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bison.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Kenneth Bittorf officiating.
Burial will follow at Prairie City Cemetery.
Aileen L. Blyler Ridenour Stroud
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Aileen L. Blyler Ridenour Stroud, 78, Long Beach and formerly of Owanka, S.D., died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in Long Beach.
Survivors include two sons, Larry and Tom; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 2, at Lakewood Village Community Church in Long Beach.
Burial was at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.
Court Patterson
RAPID CITY - Court Patterson, 49, Rapid City, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Patterson, Rapid City; one daughter, Jillian Patterson, Rapid City; one son, Jefrey Patterson, Rapid City; his parents, Doris and Joe Patterson, San Antonio; and one sister, Dow Patterson-Steen, Austin, Texas.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be at a later date in Oklahoma.
Audrey M. Fisher
RAPID CITY - Audrey M. Fisher, 63, Rapid City, died Sunday, Feb. 10, in Rapid City, as the result of an automobile accident.
She was born April 21, 1938, at Burke, S.D., the daughter of Paul and Amelia (Kaiser) Kahler. She grew up in the Bonesteel-Burke area and graduated from Bonesteel High School. Audrey married Stanley Fisher on Jan. 7, 1961, at Herrick, S.D. The couple resided in Rapid City following their marriage. She was an active member of the South Canyon Lutheran Church. She was also active in the Women's Golf Assn. at Meadowbrook Golf Course and was presently serving on the Board of the Women's Golf Assn. Audrey was a very caring person and very family-oriented.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley, Rapid City; two daughters, Jan Chambers and her husband, Jeff, Rapid City, and Julie Brown and her husband, Marshall, Salt Lake City, Utah; a twin brother, Arthur Kahler, Sioux City, Iowa; a sister, Alma Holub, Rapid City; two grandsons; and two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Henry Kahler; and two sisters, Lillian Juran and Ilene Smith.
Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the South Canyon Lutheran Church, with Rev. Bruce Thalacker officiating.
Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
Shirley Jane Hintz
SPEARFISH — Shirley Jane Hintz, 74, Spearfish and formerly of Deadwood, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis Hintz, Topeka, Kan., Douglas Hintz, Bismarck, N.D., and Warren Hintz, Fargo, N.D.; three daughters, Marie Cappa, Naperville, Ill., Eunice Matter, Racine, Wis., and Barbara Zimmermann, Hubertus, Wis.; her brother, Ray Schweppe, Bismarck; one sister, LaVern Anderson, Bismarck; six grandchildren; and one stepgrandson.
Her husband, Harold A. Hintz, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home of Spearfish and for one hour before services Monday, Feb. 11, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Spearfish.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Gene Bauman officiating.
Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Margaret M. Hughes
SPEARFISH — Margaret M. Hughes, 92, Spearfish and formerly of Richville, Minn., died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at David M. Dorsett Health Care Facility in Spearfish.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeanette Hoy, Belton, Mo., Patricia Freeman, Stanchfield, Minn., and Marsh Hughes, Reno, Nev.; two sons, James Hughes, St. Paul, Minn., and William Hughes, Spearfish; one sister, Betty Bowers, Hollywood, Calif.; one brother, Donald Keller, Palm Springs, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, William Arthur Hughes, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, with a 1 p.m. rosary, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Perham, Minn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Jerry Nordick officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
Shoeneberger Funeral Home of Perham is in charge of arrangements.
Fidler Funeral Chapel of Spearfish is in charge of local arrangements.
Mary Margaret Prendiville Zeller Feist
DICKINSON, N.D. — Mary Margaret Prendiville Zeller Feist, 89, Dickinson and formerly of Bowman and Ralph, S.D., died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at St. Benedict's Health Care Center in Dickinson.
Survivors include two daughters, Sister Dorothy Zeller, Dickinson, and Jo Greff, Bismarck, N.D.; two sons, Pat Zeller, Dickinson, and Alan Zeller, Wichita, Kan.; three stepdaughters, Noreine Richard, Spearfish, S.D., Maryann Brunet, Houma, La., and Carolyn Voss, Rapid City; one brother, Edward Prendiville, Dickinson; 12 grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Krebsbach Funeral Home Chapel in Bowman.
A wake will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Charles Catholic Church in Bowman.
Funeral Mass will be at noon Monday, Feb. 11, at the church, with the Rev. Dan Juelfs and the Rev. Andrew Morvay officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Eulalia Catholic Cemetery in Ralph.
Marlene Straub
CENTRAL CITY — Marlene Straub, 65, Central City, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Straub, Central City; two daughters, Sheila Doe, Montgomery, Ala., and Lisa Johnson, Spearfish; three sons, Timothy Straub and Brett Straub, both of Wasilla, Alaska, and Marc Straub, Central City; 15 grandchildren; one sister, Frances Templeton, Clear Lake, Iowa; and one brother, Leroy Beringer, Rapid City.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Chaput Memorial Chapel in Lead.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Gordon Goldammer officiating.
Burial will be at Mountain Lawn Cemetery in Lead.
