Frances Van Briggle
GORDON, Neb. - Frances Van Briggle, 85, Gordon, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at Gordon Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include three daughters, Lorraine Greenamyre, Gordon, Carol Parette, Rapid City, and Annette Lyon, White River, S.D.; three sons, Alvin Van Briggle, Bridgeport, Marvin Van Briggle, Gordon, and Orlan Van Briggle, Evans, Colo.; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Archie Cerny, Hay Springs, and George Cerny, Marion, Ohio.
Her husband, Lowell Leslie Van Briggle, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Wesleyan Gospel Chapel in Gordon, with the Rev. Jason Hurd officiating.
Burial will be at Gordon Cemetery.
Cicmanec-Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home of Gordon is in charge of arrangements.

Dora Stefanski
BELLE FOURCHE - Dora Stefanski, 83, Belle Fourche, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Dorsett Health Care Facility in Spearfish.
Survivors include one son, Terry Stefanski, Mystic, Conn.; two daughters, Judith Catter, Olivet, and Nancy Carter, Belle Fourche; two sisters, Effie Musgrave, McMillan, Mich., and Cliffie Clark, Mulberry, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Robert Rudolph Stefanski, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Open Bible Church in Belle Fourche, with the Rev. Rick Brennan officiating.
Inurnment will be at a later date.

Madeleine Baker Bratton
RAPID CITY - Madeleine Baker Bratton, 97, Rapid City, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at a local nursing home.
Survivors include three children, Mary McClain, Caroline Finley and Richard Bratton.

ORAL - Herman E. "Butch" Hoyer II, 54, Oral, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at his home.

Hershel F. Butterfield
STURGIS - Hershel F. Butterfield, 80, Sturgis, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Fort Meade Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Sturgis.
Survivors include his wife, Verna Mae Butterfield, Sturgis; seven sons, Dennis Butterfield and Gary Butterfield, both of Mitchell, Hall Butterfield and Lynn Butterfield, both of Pierre, David Starkjohan, Omaha, Neb., Jeffrey Starkjohan, Lewistown, Mont., and Clifford Starkjohan, Rapid City; one daughter, Tamara Burley, Pierre; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services, which will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home in Sturgis, with the Rev. Simon Looking Elk officiating.
Burial, with military honors by Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard, will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
A memorial has been established.

RAPID CITY - Rose M. Yeaman, 94, Rapid City, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at Clarkson Mountain View Guest Home in Rapid City.
Survivors include one daughter, Darleen George, Gilbert, Ariz.; one son, Robert Yeaman, Rapid City; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Harry Yeaman, preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Huron.

Survivors include his wife, Ava Eilers, Rapid City; three sons, Larry Eilers, Ankeny, Iowa, Leonard Eilers, Aurora, Colo., and Alan Eilers, Spearfish; four sisters, Velda Brandt, Rapid City, Verlan Ferrara, Baton Rouge, La., Laura Kirkegaard, Trent, and Martha Minter, Hermiston, Ore.; and six grandchildren.

EDGEMONT - Helen Ruth Gilkey, 75, Edgemont, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Gilkey, Smithwick, Tom Gilkey, Hot Springs, and Richard Gilkey, Gillette, Wyo.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mae Chancellor, Altus, Okla., Rose Kavanaugh, Texas, and Bonnie Riley, Truth Or Consequences, N.M.
Her husband, Roy T. Gilkey, preceded her in death.
Graveside rites will be at 2 p.m. today at Black Hills National Cemetery's interment center near Sturgis, with Chaplain Moe Greiner officiating.

Terry Gene Westover
BLUNT - Terry Gene Westover, 53, Blunt and formerly of Martin, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Westover, Blunt; four sons, Corey Westover, Skiatook, Okla., Chad Westover, Hayti, Dane Westover, Blunt, and Rick Young, Mitchell; one daughter, Misti McCoy, Douglas, Wyo.; two sisters, Jan Harris and Georgia Daughters; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, with a 6 p.m. prayer service, at Isburg-Hofmeister Funeral Chapel in Pierre.
Services will be at 2 p.m. MST Friday, Feb. 8, at the Old Legion Hall in Martin.
Burial will be at Martin Cemetery.
Keith Lyle Brown Jr.
WANBLEE - Keith Lyle Brown Jr., infant son of Lucille Has No Horse and Keith Brown Sr., both of Wanblee, was born and died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, in Pine Ridge.
Survivors include his parents; his paternal grandparents, Reed and Anita Brown, Wanblee; and his maternal grandmother, Yvonne Has No Horse, Allen.
A one-night wake will begin at 2 p.m. today at the Wanblee CAP Office.
Services will be at noon Friday, Feb. 8, at the CAP Office.
Larry Swalley and Charlie Chipps will officiate at traditional services.
Burial will be at the Winters family cemetery in Bear Creek.

Richard Proctor
HULETT, Wyo. - Richard Proctor, 91, Hulett, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish, S.D.
Survivors include one daughter, Bobbie Lou Bush, Hulett; three sons, Richard Proctor, Sundance, Wyo., and Donald Proctor and Larry Proctor, both of Hulett; and one sister, Ruby Main, Casper, Wyo.
Arrangements are pending with Fidler-Roberts Funeral Chapel of Sundance.
Bruce Brademeyer
RAPID CITY - Bruce Brademeyer, 85, Rapid City, died Saturday, January 19, 2002, at a local Rapid City nursing home.
He was born Oct. 25, 1916, at Verona, N.D., to William and Margaret (Cunningham) Brademeyer. He married Sigrid Storhaug on July 31, 1943, at Monahans, Texas.
He attended school at St. Paul Lutheran and Concordia College and received his master's degree from the University of Minnesota.
During World War II he was a flight instructor for the Army Air Corps. After an honorable discharge, he farmed in the Verona, N.D., area for several years before entering the teaching profession. After teaching in Arkadelphia, Ark., and Columbia, Mo., he was employed as a civics teacher at Central High School in Rapid City for 30 years. During much of his teaching career he spent summers as a park ranger at Mt. Rushmore, where he was able to utilize his vast knowledge of history.
Survivors include five children, Coral White of Rapid City, S.D., Brian Brademeyer of Rapid City, S.D., Karen Brademeyer of Minneapolis, Minn., Judi Lang of Monterey, Calif., and Boyd Brademeyer of Rapid City; one sister, Alfretta Hess of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Laurence Brademeyer of Los Angeles, Calif., and Joseph Brademeyer of Verona, N.D.; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four sisters and five brothers.
A memorial service will be held in Rapid City on Saturday, February 9, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Doug Diehl officiating.
A memorial to the American Heart Association has been established.
