RAPID CITY - Marlene L. Lammers, 66, Rapid City, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Lammers, Rapid City; one daughter, Colleen Walmsley, Tampa, Fla.; three sons, Tim Lammers and Michael Lammers, both of Rapid City, and Ken Lammers, Bismarck, N.D.; her mother, Charlotte Anderson, Rapid City; one brother, Robert Pourier, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; one sister, Loretta Small Wood, Rapid City; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Kirk Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Violet R. Jorgensen

CUSTER - Violet R.

Jorgensen, 85, Custer and formerly of Rapid City, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Lewison, New Richland, Minn., and Betty Rohr, Custer; two sons, the Rev. Richard Jorgensen, Faribault, Minn., and Robert Jorgensen, Custer; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City, with family present from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Custer Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David VanKley officiating.

Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Black Hills National Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

Lind Paul Olson

STURGIS - Lind Paul Olson, 93, Sturgis, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Fort Meade Veterans Affairs Hospital in Sturgis.

Survivors include two brothers, Joe Olson and Harold Olson, both of McLaughlin, and two sisters, Evelyn Beusch, McLaughlin, and Hilda Banik Mobridge.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, and from 8 a.m. until service time Monday, Feb. 4, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.

Burial, with military honors by Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard, will be at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Peder Kaloides Ecker

SIOUX FALLS - Peder K. Ecker, son of Peder K. Ecker and Amalia Kaloides, was born October 21, 1929 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Peder married Dorothy Severson on March 18, 1951, they later divorced. They had five daughters, Donna Ecker, Sioux Falls, Dawn (Todd) Nelson, Sioux Falls, Dorothy Anne (Ross) Dupper, Naperville IL, Debra (Sam) Maniaci, Palm Harbor, FL, and Diane (Dean) Jankord, New Prague, MN.

On February 14, 1990, Peder married Marjorie Bieber in Miami, FL.

Peder is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his five daughters; 13 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; a sister, Sally (Norm) Griggs, of Rapid City, SD; and a brother, Eugene (Karen) of Lakewood, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Phyllis (Paul) Torgerson.

Visitation begins at 12 noon Friday at Miller Funeral Home with a Masonic Service at 7:00 pm, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 pm, Saturday, February 2, 2002 at First Presbyterian Church, Sioux Falls, SD.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be directed to El Riad Shrine Transportation Fund or First Presbyterian Church.

Edna Mae Forrester

STURGIS - Edna Mae Forrester, 89, Sturgis, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at Sturgis Community Health Care Center.

Survivors include one son, Darrel Forrester, Sturgis; two daughters, Mary Myers, Sturgis, and Daisy Erthal, Fort Collins, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Glen E. Forrester, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, and for one hour before services Saturday, Feb. 2, at First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Howard Smith officiating.

Burial will be at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

A memorial has been established.

William Dale 'Tuck' Lutes

HOT SPRINGS - William Dale "Tuck" Lutes, 83, of Hot Springs and Las Vegas, died January 24, 2002, in Las Vegas.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2002, at Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel in Hot Springs.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2002, at Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel in Hot Springs, with Rev. Peter Dahlberg officiating.

Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2002, at Black Hills National Cemetery.

Tuck was born February 25, 1918, in Ardmore, South Dakota, to William Henry and Gertrude Helen (Champagne) Lutes. Tuck joined the Army and served during World War II. He met Marian Estes in Hot Springs and later they were married on October 6, 1947. He retired as a lifelong firefighter at the Veterans Administration in 1979. Tuck was a member of the Hot Springs Elks Club, the VFW, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Lutes of Hot Springs, and his sister, Helen Trompeter of Casta Mesa, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel in Hot Springs.

William John 'Doc' Alcorn

HOT SPRINGS - William John "Doc" Alcorn, 83, Hot Springs, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Alcorn, Hot Springs; three sons, J. Michael Alcorn, Rochester, Minn., Patrick Alcorn, Red Lake Falls, Minn., and Robert Alcorn, Gordon, Neb.; one stepson, Mike Haldane, Anaconda, Mont.; two daughters, Judy Kerkhoff, Windson, Colo., and Susan Hubbard, Lincoln, Neb.; two stepdaughters, Benetta Rodacker, Anaconda, and Patsy Pence, Hot Springs; two brothers, Robert Alcorn and Donald Alcorn, both of Walnut Grove, Mont.; two sisters, Mary Como, Belview, Minn., and Annette Markell, Marshall, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

A rosary and vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs.

Mass of Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the church, with the Rev. John Heying officiating.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs.

Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel of Hot Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Ursula Rose Schramel

MILLER - Ursula Rose Schramel, 78, Miller, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller.

Survivors include her husband, John Schramel, Miller; one son, Tom Schramel, Whitewood; one granddaughter; one step-grandson; three brothers, Vincent Gottwald, St. Cloud, Minn., Phil Gottwald, Paynesville, Minn., and Leo Gottwald, Missoula, Mont.; and two sisters, Betty Clement, Miller, and Marcella Irby, Gulfport, Miss.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at Reck Funeral Home of Miller.

A wake service will be at 8:30 p.m. today at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Miller.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the church, with the Rev. Terry Weber officiating.

Burial will be at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Miller.

Louis F. Cardamon

HILL CITY - Louis F. Cardamon, 85, of Hill City, died January 29, 2002, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Custer.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2002, at St. Rose of Lima in Hill City.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2002, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hill City, with Fr. John Heying and Deacon Pat Coy officiating.

Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2002, at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis.

Louis was born on January 7, 1917, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Michael and Angelina (Cimino) Cardamon. He joined the United States Army in 1941 and served during World War II until he was honorably discharged in 1945. On April 8, 1968, Leo married Inez Anker. He had his own soft ice cream business for many years. Leo was a member of the Elks Club. He was a good husband and father, a good friend to all and had a winning smile!

Survivors include his wife Inez of Custer and his son Domonic Cardamon of Vancouver, Wash.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel in Custer.

Mary Wilma Lakner

PIERRE - Mary Wilma Lakner, 74, Pierre, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at St. Mary's Sub Acute Healthcare Center in Pierre.

Survivors include her husband, Clayton Lakner, Pierre; three sons, John Lakner and Pat Lakner, both of Pierre, and Rick Lakner, Minneapolis; one daughter, Liz Hoffland, Wheatland, Wyo.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Isburg-Hofmeister Funeral Chapel in Pierre.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pierre.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Cemetery in Wessington.

Hattie Colleen Hoffman Hennessey

BELLE FOURCHE - Hattie Colleen Hoffman Hennessey, 73, Belle Fourche, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Belle Fourche Long Term Care Center.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Hennessey, Belle Fourche; one son, Bill Hennessey, Belle Fourche; one daughter, Dixie Hausman, Yankton; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Maurice Hoffman, Creighton, and Ray Hoffman, Arizona; and one sister, Lorna Moore, Quinn.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, and for one hour before services Friday, Feb. 1, at Belle Fourche United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Steve Olson officiating.

Burial will be at Wall Cemetery.

James Edward Chambers

STURGIS - James Edward Chambers, 89, Sturgis, died

Sunday, January 27, 2002, at the Sturgis Community Health Care Center.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to time of services at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis, with Pastor Bob Yantis officiating.

Survivors include brothers Joe Chambers, Sturgis, and Willard Chambers, Earlsboro, Okla.; one sister, Addie Mae Van Antwerp, Riverside, Calif.; grandsons Darwin Hanzlik, Winneamucca, Nev., and James Earl Chambers, Louisville, Ky.; granddaughters, Cheryl Schutterle, Sturgis, Sharon Allison, Sturgis, and Melissa Willis, Bowling Green, Ky.; and one son-in-law, Wayne Hanzlik, Sturgis, S.D.

Survivors also include nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Lela Mae Chambers; his wife, Pauline Chambers; one son, Jimmie Dean Chambers; one daughter, Mary Maxine Hanzlik; brothers, William Bryant, Roy, Arthur, Percy Lester and Jack; and sister Ora Mae.
