David Allen Mousseaux

PINE RIDGE - David Allen Mousseaux, 37, Pine Ridge, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, in Pine Ridge.

Survivors include his parents, Owen and Oletha Eagle Elk, Pine Ridge; one son, Vincent Mousseaux, Pine Ridge; one daughter, Elizabeth Mousseaux, Pine Ridge; three brothers, Walter Mousseaux and John Mousseaux, both of Pine Ridge, and Darrell Eagle Bull, Calico; and one sister, Lejtoi Eagle Bull, Pine Ridge.

A one-night wake will begin at 3 p.m. today at Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, with the Rev. Bill Pauly officiating.

Burial will be at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery in Wolf Creek.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

John E. McCarty Sr.

PEORIA, Ariz. - John E. McCarty Sr., 74, Peoria and formerly of South Dakota, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Ann McCarty, Peoria; two sons, John McCarty Jr., Phoenix, and Thomas McCarty, Rapid City; one daughter, Sheila McCarty, Glendale, Ariz.; three brothers, George McCarty, the Rev. Lawrence McCarty and Joe McCarty, all of Iowa; one sister, Coleen Phelan, Iowa; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.

Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Sun City, Ariz.

Menke Funeral Home of Sun City is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 12211 W. Bell Rd. No. 102, Surprise, AZ 85374.

Vincenthia Kate Brings Plenty

PINE RIDGE - Vincenthia Kate Brings Plenty, 34, Pine Ridge, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, in Pine Ridge.

Survivors include her fiance, Jack Harrowa, Rapid City; two sons, Tony Vocu Jr. and Vincent Mousseaux, both of Pine Ridge; one daughter, Elizabeth Mousseaux, Pine Ridge; her parents, Vincent and Lucille Brings Plenty, Pine Ridge; one sister, Madeline Janis, Pine Ridge; and five brothers, Donroy Brings Plenty, Darrell Brings Plenty, Duane Brings Plenty, Darren Brings Plenty and Delano Brings Plenty, all of Pine Ridge.

A two-night wake will begin at 4 p.m. today at Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Billy Mills Hall, with David Brings Plenty officiating. Wilmer Mesteth will officiate over traditional services.

Burial will be at Holy Cross Episcopal Cemetery in Pine Ridge.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Doris N. Hathorn

SPEARFISH - Doris N. Hathorn, 83, Spearfish, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish.

Survivors include one daughter, Loretta Pribble, Spearfish.

Arrangements are pending with Carlsen & Aldinger

Lola A. Werdal

RAPID CITY - Lola A. Werdal, 70, of Rapid City, died Tuesday, January 22, at her home after courageously fighting ovarian cancer since 1993.

She was born July 6, 1931, at Peabody Hospital in Webster, S.D., to Laton Lowell and Alice Overboe Raymond. She grew up and attended school in Sisseton.

On August 1, 1952, she married Lowell J. Werdal in Sisseton. In 1953, the couple had their first child, Cheri Lynn, who died at four months of age. A year later their first son, Curtis, was born.

The Werdal family then moved to Pierre for a brief time, where the couple's second daughter, Shari, was born in 1955.

The family then moved to Webster, during which time the couple's last two children were born, Todd in 1961 and Lisa in 1968.

The Werdals made their final move to Rapid City in 1974.

Lola taught piano for several years and became involved with the Black Hills Rosemaling Association, the Sons of Norway, and church circle groups.

Survivors include her husband, Lowell, of Rapid City; two sons, Curtis Werdal of Eagan, Minnesota, and Todd Werdal of Robbinsville, New Jersey; two daughters, Shari Nelson of Baxter, Minnesota, and Lisa Usera of Rapid City; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Rev. Dennis Raymond of Thief River Falls, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Cheri Lynn in 1953; her father, L.L. Raymond in 1973; and her mother, Alice Raymond, in 1993.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday evening, January 24, at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home. The family will be present from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 25, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid City, with the Reverend Tanya Rist officiating. Interment will be at Sisseton Cemetery on Monday, with the Reverend Dennis Raymond officiating.

Memorials to be given to Calvary Lutheran Church, 3402 Cottonwood Street, Rapid City, SD 57702, for the establishment of the Lola A. Werdal Music Fund.

Alice N. Sander

CUSTER - Alice N. Sander, 86, Custer, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include four sons, Bernard Sander, Upton, Wyo., Leonard Sander, Timothy Sander, Custer, and Keith Sander, Hanna, Wyo.; one daughter, Nora Lee DeMarce, Orin, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel in Custer.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Custer Community Church, with the Rev. Keith Ballinger and the Rev. Bill Savery officiating.

Burial will be at Custer Cemetery.

Nellie H. Heine

BELLE FOURCHE - Nellie H. Heine, 85, Belle Fourche, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Belle Fourche Health Care Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Steele, Belle Fourche.

Arrangements are pending with Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home of Spearfish.

Elizabeth Jane Ice

BEULAH, Wyo. - Elizabeth Jane Ice, 84, Beulah, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at David M. Dorsett Health Care Facility in Spearfish, S.D.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Ice, Beulah.

David Kent Dietterle

COLUMBUS, Ohio - David Kent Dietterle, 43, Columbus and formerly of Lemmon, S.D., died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, in Columbus as the result of an automobile accident.

Survivors include his fiancee, April Vega; five sons, Jesse Dietterle, Cody Dietterle, Joe Vega, Joshua Vega and Jamie Longwell, all of Columbus; two daughters, Chelsea Dietterle and Shauna Longwell, both of Columbus; his mother, Martha Miller, Morristown, S.D.; one brother, Terry Dietterle, Morristown; one stepbrother, Kim Miller, Morristown; and one stepsister, Memory Gronholz, New Ulm, N.M.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon, and for one hour before services Sunday, Jan. 27, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Harold Watrous officiating. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon.

Gladys Lillian Ronneberg

RAPID CITY - Gladys Lillian Ronneberg, 90, of Rapid City, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002, at the Clarkson Mountain View Nursing Home.

Gladys was born December 18, 1911, at Strool, S.D., to Burt and Christine Lyons, She grew up in the Newell area with her seven sisters and three brothers. After graduating, she was employed at the Soldiers Home in Hot Springs. She later achieved her dental hygienist certificate and was employed in Lead at the dental office of Dr. Kenneth Stormo.

While working in Lead, Gladys was introduced to her future husband, Clarence. The couple married April 13, 1952, in Rapid City at Trinity Lutheran Church by Reverend Mathisen. The couple then moved to Brighton, Colorado, where they raised their son, Ron. Gladys owned and operated a women's clothing store in Brighton before retiring and moving to Rapid City in 1976. Gladys enjoyed gardening, baking cookies and reading stories to her grandchildren. She was a truly wonderful grandmother to her four grandchildren, who all deeply loved her.

Gladys will be especially missed by her son, Ron and his wife, Janet, Rapid City; and her grandchildren, Luke and his wife Traci, Rapid City, Jason and his wife Chie, Littleton, Colorado, and Jenny and Stephanie, Honolulu, Hawaii; and one great-granddaughter, Chance, Littleton.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Hayes officiating.

Interment will be at the Pine Lawn Cemetery.

Gladys Wilcox

PIERRE - Gladys Wilcox, 93, Pierre and formerly of Agar, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare in Pierre.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Peters, Pierre, and Judy Schuette, rural Highmore; one son, Larry Wilcox, Sully County; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Clayton Wilcox, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Feigum Funeral Home in Pierre.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Onida.

Burial will follow at Onida Cemetery.

Maybelle Poore

HOT SPRINGS - Maybelle Poore, 89, Hot Springs, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Castle Manor Nursing Home in Hot Springs.

Arrangements are pending with Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel of Hot Springs.

Diana Carol Doro

BOULDER, Colo. — Diana Carol Doro, 56, formerly of Rapid City, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, in Boulder.

Born September 15, 1945, in Elizabeth City, N.C., she was the daughter of William Henry Spencer and Luna Barnard Meiggs Spencer. She married Andrew Doro in 1969 in New York and divorced in 1980.

She attended nursing school and graduated in Aug. 1966. She was a CRRN and was employed at Rapid City Regional Hospital before moving to Boulder. "She loved art, history, and teaching others about the Bible's hope of a wonderful future," her family said.

Survivors include a daughter, Dawn Jones of Boulder, Colo.; a son, Christopher Doro of Hyde Park, N.Y.; three sisters, Luna Carlson and Susan Mierski of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Lauren Warner of Bedford, Va.; a brother, Jimmy Spencer of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and a grandson, Erik Jones of Boulder, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Adam Doro.

Funeral services will be at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4021 Range Road, Rapid City, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 26.

Ruth D. Richards

BELLE FOURCHE — Ruth D. Richards, 95, Belle Fourche, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Palm's Country View Assisted Living.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Fisher, Salt Lake City, and Ree Reich, Belle Fourche; one son, D. Stanley Richards, Portland, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at United Church of Christ Congregational in Belle Fourche, with the Rev. Buck Malone and the Rev. Paul Howard officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.

Kline-Frost Funeral Home of Belle Fourche is in charge of arrangements.
