SPEARFISH — Morene Ethel Seely, 85, Spearfish, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at David M. Dorsett Health Care Facility in Spearfish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Seely.

Survivors include two daughters, Lily Odell, Spearfish, and Rosann Siminoe, Craig, Colo.; four sisters, Fairola Horton, San Diego, Calif., Charrold Marshall, Fort Worth, Texas, Violet Karst, Aberdeen, and Viola Feistner, Madison.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Kline Frost Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spearfish, with the Rev. Randy Fett officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Debra Anderson

RAPID CITY — Debra Anderson, 53, Rapid City, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Anderson, Rapid City; two sons, Joseph Carlin Jr., and Jeremy Carlin, both of Rapid City; two daughters, Tanya McCaskell and Shannon Bunderson, both of Rapid City; her mother, Hazel Martens, Rapid City; one brother, Rick Martens, San Diego, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.

Clyde R. Huber

MCINTOSH — Clyde R. Huber, 45, McIntosh, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, N.D.

Survivors include his wife, Jayne; two sons, Blake, McIntosh, and Jeremy, Rapid City; one daughter, Kristin, Lead; his parents, Philip and Elizabeth Huber, McIntosh; five brothers, Leonard Huber and Ron Huber, both of Janesville, Wis., Richard Huber, Boone, N.C., Ray Huber, Lemmon, and Wesley Huber, Greybull, Wyo.; and five sisters, Della Morrow, Sherman, Texas, Bonnie Karst, Hoven, Naldean Nash, Fort Benton, Mont., and Lanita Forsman and Angie Marks, both of Stevensville, Md.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at McIntosh Presbyterian Church, and one hour before services on Monday. A family service will be at 7 p.m. today at the church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, at the church, with the Rev. Richard Mayforth officiating. Burial will be at McIntosh Cemetery.

Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon is in charge of arrangements.

Laurie Anne Tolzin

LAKE PRESTON — Laurie Anne Tolzin, 36, of Lake Preston, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at the Brookings Hospital in Brookings from cancer.

Laurie Anne Lesmeister was born on May 6, 1965, at St. Mary's Hospital, Pierre, S.D., to Lawrence and Charlotte (Brewer) Lesmeister. She attended school K-12 at the C-EB school system graduating in 1983. She then attended SDSU in Brookings for two years. During her college years she worked at Pamida in Brookings.

On Sept. 23, 1989, she married Scott Tolzin at Lake Preston and has lived in Lake Preston since that time. Laurie was active in her children's school activities also community and church. She had a special love for little children and provided a day care in her home. She also substituted at school and worked at the Treasure Chest in Lake Preston. She had just started a gift basket business.

She is survived by her husband Scott of Lake Preston; a daughter Whitney and a son Weston, both of Lake Preston; her parents, Lawrence and Charlotte of Whitewood; a brother, Dale of Eagle Butte; a sister, Terri Iverson of Pierre; her grandmother, Dorothy Brewer of Eagle Butte; a number of aunts and uncles along with three nieces and three nephews.

Memorials may be directed in her memory to the 1st Savings Bank in Lake Preston for her children's education or the Lake Preston City Library.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tolzin will be Monday, April 8, at 1:30 p.m., in the Lake Preston Lutheran Church, with Pastor Rick Senner officiating. Burial will be at the Lake Preston City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Lake Preston Lutheran Church and before services.

The Johnson-Henry Funeral Chapel of Lake Preston is in charge of arrangements.

Francis Grant Bickle

SPEARFISH — Francis Grant Bickle, 83, Spearfish, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2002, at Fidler Funeral Chapel, Spearfish.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at the United Methodist Church, Spearfish, with Rev. Kip Roozen officiating. Burial will be at Mountain Meadow Cemetery, Roubaix, with full military honors provided by VFW Post 5860 and American Legion Post #164, Spearfish.

A memorial has been established for the Spearfish United Methodist Church.

Francis was born July 15, 1918, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Deadwood. He was the oldest of three boys born to Frank and Mary Elizabeth (Lanning) Bickle of Merritt, S.D. At the age of 17, he began working for Homestake Mining Company, working 12 years at Nemo, Moskee, and Spearfish as a mechanic. In 1940, after the death of his father, he assumed the role of the father and moved his mother and brothers to Spearfish. On October 13, 1942, he enlisted in the Army Air Corp at Ft. Snelling. He served with the 98th Squadron 440th Troop Carrier Group as a mechanic crew chief. He served 18 months overseas in England, France, and North Africa. His C-47 planes participated in D-Day, pulling gliders and supply to the war effort. Following his discharge, he opened Bickle's Diesel Repair in 1945 and was in business for 35 years. He opened the first snowmobile dealership in the area for Skidoo.

On February 19, 1971, Francis married Rosemary (Johnson) Bobier in Spearfish.

Francis was a member of the South Dakota Snowmobile Association and Spearfish Snow Cruisers. He was a 44-year member of the VFW Post #5860 and the American Legion Post #164. He was also a longtime member of the United Methodist Church.

He was an avid outdoorsman and a Black Hills history and geography buff. Through the years he served to teach many people and groups with ATV and snowmobile tours and explanations of the history of the Black Hills. The Black Hills were his "baby;" he studied and cataloged its changes and how those changes related to others throughout his lifetime.

Grateful for having shared in Francis's life are his two step-sons, Dennis (and Mary) Bobier, Spearfish, and Dr. Gene (and Mary Lou) Bobier, Ft. Collins, Colo.; one brother, Glenn Bickle, Lawrence, Kan.; six grandchildren; and many friends who loved him dearly.

Francis was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Gilbert and Elizabeth Tower of Mountain Meadow; grandmother Ella (Tower) Lanning of Elm Springs; father Frank Bickle in 1938; mother Mary Bickle in 1989; wife Rosemary Bickle in 1996; and his brother Roy Bickle in 1978.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Fidler Funeral Chapel, Spearfish.

Barbara Keyworth

RAPID CITY — Barbara Keyworth, 56, Rapid City, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Claude Keyworth, Sundance, Wyo.; two daughters, Tina Blakeman, Belle Fourche, and Cathie Keyworth, Deadwood; two sons, Chris Keyworth and Jim Keyworth, both of Rapid City; two sisters, Shelly Maliske, Spearfish, and Rose Anderson, Richmond, Ind.; two brothers, Bill Hunt, Rapid City, and Paul Hunt, Greeley, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Fidler Funeral Chapel of Spearfish.

Alvin A. Long

RAPID CITY — Alvin A. Long, 79, of Rapid City, died Thursday, April 4, 2002 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

He was born Feb. 5, 1923, in rural Philip, S.D., to Ivory and Helena (Hinz) Long. He graduated from high school at Philip. He married Elizabeth R. Getz on Nov. 26, 1942, at Belvidere, S.D. They lived at Kadoka until moving to Sturgis in 1962 and then to Rapid City in 1968. He worked at various places and retired from Johnson Machine in 1987 after 46 years as a parts salesman. He returned to Kadoka briefly and then moved back to Rapid City, where he has lived ever since.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Rapid City. He enjoyed reading and watching Westerns on television, gardening and woodworking.

He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Moffit of Rapid City; his son, Richard Long and wife Janet of Rapid City; his sister, Doris Millage of Philip; his brother, Robert Long of Kadoka; three grandchildren, Patty Christianson of Rapid City, Debby Swaney of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Tracy Gernentz of Minneapolis, Minn.; and two great-grandchildren, Chris Christianson of Rapid City and Jalen Long of Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1983, parents, two brothers and one grandson.

Visitation will be at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City on Sunday from noon until 6 p.m. and then at the church on Monday for one hour before services.

Services are set for Monday, April 8, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Rapid City, with the Rev. Robert Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City.

The family prefers memorials to Peace Lutheran Church.

Jason Anthony Blea

FAIRVIEW, Mont. — Jason Anthony Blea, 27, Sidney and formerly of Rapid City, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, in Rochester, Minn.

Survivors include two sons, Vincent, South Dakota, and Boston, Sidney; his loving companion, Rachael, Sidney; his mother, Sue Smith, Vale, S.D.; two sisters, Audrey Ramsey, Idaho, and Amanda Smith, South Dakota; and one brother, Erik Larson, Idaho.

Burial will be today in Fairview.

Fulkerson Funeral Home, 315 Second St. N.W., Sidney, MT 59270, (406) 488-2805, is in charge of arrangements, and cards and condolences may be sent in care of the funeral home.

G. Wayne Tapio

PINE RIDGE — G. Wayne Tapio, 66, Pine Ridge, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, in Rapid City.

Arrangements are pending with Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge.

Robert E. Leisure

RAPID CITY — Robert E. Leisure, 65, of Rapid City, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Robert served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960.

He is survived by his wife, Roseanne Leisure, Rapid City; four daughters, Kimberly Leisure of Winter Park, Fla., Audra Foster and her husband Donald of Cameron, N.C., Laura Fredricks of St. Cloud, Fla., and Therese Marlette and her husband Todd of Sioux Falls; four sons, Joseph Leisure of St. Cloud, Fla., John Paulin and his wife Terri of Rapid City, Michael Paulin and his wife Deana of Lincoln, Neb., and Steven Paulin serving in the U.S. Army in Germany; his sister, Margaret Lawyer of St. Cloud, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Christine Foster of Cameron, N.C., and Andrew Paulin and Jessica Paulin, both of Rapid City.

A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, at Big Bend Presbyterian Church, 10944 W. Hwy 44, near Johnson Siding, with Rev. Charlie Hunt officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.

Esther Kindsfater

BELLE FOURCHE — Esther Kindsfater, 80, Belle Fourche, died Friday, April 5, 2002, in Lewisville, Colo.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Kindsfater, Denver, and Gerald Kindsfater, Deadwood; two daughters, Alice Kindsfater, Broomfield, Colo., and Diane Holstein, Westminster, Colo.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Reinhold Neisent, Belle Fourche, and Ruben Neisent, Mesa, Ariz.; and two sisters, Helen Hoeye and Rachael Haeger, both of Rapid City.

Arrangements are pending with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.

Earl Roy Main

SPEARFISH — Earl Roy Main, 91, Spearfish, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish.

Survivors include his wife, Berthana Main, Spearfish; one daughter, Diane Sparling, Watseka, Ill.; two brothers, Bill Main, Lemmon, and Lester Main, Belle Fourche; one sister, Ethel Ackerman, Montrose; five granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 7, with family present from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, at Fidler Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.

Visitation will continue for one hour before services, which will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Spearfish, with the Rev. Gene Bauman officiating.

A memorial has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church of Spearfish.

Shirley Cramer

HILL CITY — Shirley Cramer, 80, Hill City, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at her home.

Survivors include one son, Carl Cramer, Hill City; one daughter, Scharlie Fitts, Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Juanita Webb, San Diego, Alice Good, Escondido, Calif., and Dorothy Campbell, Needles, Calif.

Arrangements are pending with Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City.

Earl R. Main

SPEARFISH — Earl R. Main, 91, Spearfish, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish.

RAPID CITY — Alvin A. Long, 79, Rapid City, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Edward Leonard Mazourek

TOPTON, Pa. — Edward Leonard Mazourek, 1 South Home Avenue, Topton, Pa., and long-time resident of Rapid City, died Friday, March 8, in the Lutheran Home at Topton, where he had resided since March 2001. He was the husband of Maxine L. (Eckert) Mazourek, also of the Lutheran Home.

Born February 8 in Tyndall, South Dakota, he was the son of the late Edward Josef and Agnes (Bambas) Mazourek. As a youth, he had earned the coveted rank of Eagle Scout as a "lone scout." He was a graduate of the class of 1932 of Tyndall High School, Tyndall, S.D.

Mr. Mazourek was a graduate of Southern Normal School, Springfield, S.D., and taught school before moving to Rapid City with his mother in 1935. He earned a degree in civil engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in Rapid City, class of 1941, and after graduation worked for Northwestern Engineering, helping lay out Ellsworth AFB. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Mazourek attained the rank of 1st Lt. while serving with the 8th U.S. Air Force in England as an aircraft engineering officer, assessing damaged aircraft returning from bombing missions.

After the war, he returned to Rapid City, where he was a valued employee of the M.A. Garland Construction Company. In 1957 he struck out on his own, becoming a respected Rapid City businessman. He practiced as a civil and architectural engineer as a principal in the firm of Aukerman & Mazourek, Inc. for 25 years, until his retirement in 1982. Among other activities, he was a supporter of the Boy Scouts in Rapid City and served as member of the Cleghorn District School Board.

Mr. Mazourek is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maxine L. Mazourek, Topton, Pennsylvania; daughters Margaret K. (Mazourek) Stromberg, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mary L. Mazourek, Blandon, Pa.; three grandchildren, Margaret M. (Stromberg) Hart, Hampton, Va., Jason E.R. McGinn, Harrisburg, Pa., and Micah J. Stromberg, Fairfax, Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Timothy J. Stromberg and Cheyenne Hart. He was predeceased by his youngest daughter, Patricia Ann Mazourek, in 1994.

Memorial services and interment, with military honors, will be held on April 8, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, South Dakota.
