Barbara Patsy Joyce Foster

BELLE FOURCHE - Barbara Patsy Joyce Foster, 63, Belle Fourche, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance, Neb.

Survivors include two sons, Gene Foster and Wayne Foster, both of Alliance; four grandchildren; and one sister, Ann Horn, Mountain Home, Ark.

Her husband, Clifford E. Foster, preceded her in death.

Visitation with family present will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Northern Hills Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Christian Life Center in Belle Fourche, with the Rev. Paul Howard officiating.

Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff, Neb.

A memorial has been established.

Anna Louise 'Coba' Fuhrman

PINE RIDGE - Anna Louise "Coba" Fuhrman, 68, Pine Ridge, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, in Rapid City.

Survivors include three sons, Evens Rencountre and Frank Rencountre, both of Pine Ridge, and Morgan Siers, Rapid City; two daughters, Jackie Siers-Rowland, Pine Ridge, and Alice Siers-Perkins, Batesland; one sister, Mary Wright, Rapid City; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A two-night wake will begin at 3 p.m. today at Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, at Billy Mills Hall, with the Rev. Steve Sanford and the Rev. Earl Kurth officiating.

Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie E. Dunlap

BLACK HAWK - Marjorie E. Dunlap, 67, Black Hawk, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Allen Dunlap, Black Hawk; three sons, Terry Rossman, Piedmont, Thomas Dunlap, Laverne, Calif., and Gene Rossman, Rapid City; three daughters, Becky Dunnihoo and Teresa Neisent, both of Rapid City, and Brenda Pitsor, Black Hawk; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Behrens Mortuary of Rapid City.

Dorothea K. Beach

BLACK HAWK - Dorothea K. Beach, 69, Black Hawk, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at her home.

Survivors include two sons, William Beach, Phoenix, and Joseph Beach, Black Hawk, and two sisters, Betty Ebsen, Pipestone, Minn., and Darlene Corodo, Oshkosh, Calif.

Arrangements are pending with Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home of Sturgis.

Mark L. Doane

FORT WORTH, Texas - Mark L. Doane, 52, a geotechnical engineer, died Monday, March 11, 2002 at a Fort Worth, Texas, hospital.

Memorial service: A celebration of Mark's life will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Biggers Funeral Chapel. His cremated remains will be scattered at the head of the Little Horn River in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming this summer after the snow melts.

Memorials: Vitas Hospice, 2501 Parkview Dr., Suite 600, Fort Worth, TX 76102.

Mark Doane was born May 31, 1949, in Hardin, Mont. The first 35 years of Mark's life were spent mostly in Montana attending the University of Montana, working in construction, logging, cement finishing, fishing, hunting, and gathering cows with his friends. He married Karen Beveridge in 1982 and they have three wonderful children. He finished college and graduated with a master's degree in geotechnical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He moved to Fort Worth, Texas, in 1995, excited to work with the swelling and shifting soils of North Texas. He enjoyed his work and truly enjoyed those who he worked with.

Mark will be remembered for his strength of character, sense of humor and integrity. It was a joy to know him and be a part of his life.

Survivors: Wife, Karen Doane of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Libby Jean Doane of Fort Worth, Texas; sons, Matthew Wade Doane and Lucas Henry Doane, both of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Lyle Doane, Monte Doane and Jimmy Doane, all of Hardin, Mont.; and sister, Peggy Doane of Hardin, Mont.

Silvin J. Mulloy

KEYSTONE - Silvin J. Mulloy, 81, Keystone, died Saturday, March 9, at Westview Health Care Center in Sheridan, Wyo.

He was born near Parker, S.D., on March 1, 1921, to Charles and Rose (Beaner) Mulloy.

He grew up in southeastern S.D., graduating from Salem St. Mary's in 1939. Silvin worked with his father and brothers in construction. In the fall of 1942 he joined the Army. Silvin married Ethel Haack on February 6, 1943, in Marysville, Kan. After serving in the European Theatre he was honorably discharged in 1945 and lived in the Firesteel area working construction.

In 1950 they moved to Mobridge, where Silvin worked as a car dealer and mechanic. Ethel and Silvin had five children. Ethel died in 1967 and Silvin moved to Keystone in 1968. He married Amelia (Babe) Zwetzig Cordes on March 1, 1969. He was employed as a mail carrier and welder. Silvin lived in Keystone until October of 1998, when he moved to an assisted living facility following brain surgery.

In August of 2001 he moved to Sheridan, Wyo., where his daughter Madonna lives. Silvin was a life-long practicing Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Keystone. Silvin enjoyed trapshooting, boating, water skiing, camping, dancing, reading and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, the American Legion and the Rapid City Trap Club.

Silvin is survived by his wife, Amelia of Keystone; his children, Roxan Mulloy, Bismarck, N.D., Madonna Jackson and her husband, Allen, Sheridan, Wyo., Colin Dean Mulloy and his wife, Sissy, Fort Smith, Ark., and Fr. Michel Mulloy, Rapid City, S.D.; his stepchildren, MaryLee Smith and her husband, Chuck, Rapid City, S.D., CariDee Foley and her husband, John, Watertown, S.D., LaVeta Giannonatti and her husband, Dean, Keystone, and Bernard Cordes and his wife, Becky, Keystone; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his sister, Delores Remsin and her husband, Norm, Ontario, Ore.; two brothers, Charles Mulloy and his wife, Charlotte, Keystone, and Cletus Mulloy and his wife, Madeline, of Mobridge; and sisters-in-law, Lorette Mulloy, Donna Stransky and Janice Haack.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Yvonne; a brother, Flavain; his wife, Ethel; and his son, Llewellen.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home, followed by a Christian wake service at the Blessed Sacrament Church at 7 p.m., with Father Matt Fallgren officiating.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at noon at the Blessed Sacrament Church, with the Most Reverend Blase Cupich presiding.

Interment will be in the Isabel Cemetery at Isabel, S.D., on Saturday, March 16, at noon, with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Western S.D. Catholic Foundation.

BELLE FOURCHE - Pat Foster, 63, Belle Fourche, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, in Alliance, Neb.

Survivors include two sons, Gene Foster and Wayne Foster, both of Alliance.

Arrangements are pending with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.

Patrick Yellowboy

RAPID CITY - Patrick Yellowboy, 77, Rapid City, died Friday, March 8, 2002, at a Rapid City nursing home.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Warbonnett, Rapid City, and Martha Duron, Hollywood, Calif.; four sons, Tony Yellowboy, Mobridge, and Elton Yellowboy, Roger Yellowboy and Patrick Yellowboy Jr., all of Rapid City; and three sisters, Dolly Whiting, Edna Kills Crow and Ella McGaw, all of Denver.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at Oyate Center in Rapid City and continue from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Burial will be at Holy Rosary Mission Cemetery in Pine Ridge.

Campbell, Paula & Quinn Funeral Service of Rapid City is in charge of arrangements.

Kathryn L. Fister

SPEARFISH - Kathryn L. Fister, 91, Spearfish, S.D., died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at the David M. Dorsett Health Care Facility in Spearfish. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spearfish, with the Rev. Ron Garry as celebrant. Burial will be in the Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche, S.D.

Kathryn Lucille Shewman Fister was born on a farm near Corning, Iowa, on February 27, 1911. She was the daughter of Glen and Bertha (Hubble) Shewman. At an early age the family moved from Iowa to a ranch in Jones County, S.D., in the

Okaton and Murdo area. Her family operated the Shewman Piper Ranch in that area for many years in partnership with Ed Piper, a friend of the family. The Shewman family moved back to Iowa and continued farming after a severe spring storm in 1920 when most all of the livestock froze and died.

Kathryn went to school in Okaton and Corning and graduated from Corning High School. During the school year, she lived in the Adams County jail in Corning. Her uncle, George Simpson, was the Adams County Sheriff and he and his wife provided board and room for Kathryn and her sister, Genevive.

As a young lady, "Kate" was a talented seamstress, taught by her mother and grandmother. She owned her own seamstress and tailor shop in early years and was excellent in that area of endeavor. She was a 4-H leader in Corning and Adams County for many years, and her "Busy Bee" 4-H club won many ribbons in several judging divisions.

On August 10, 1952, Kathryn and E. J. Fister, then of Atlantic, Iowa, were married. Kathryn was active in Garden Club, Business and Professional Women, Chamber of Commerce, St. Paul's Altar Society and other community projects. Kathryn and E.J. bought their own department store and moved to Belle Fourche, S.D., in 1957. They operated that business at 501 State Street until 1973, when they sold the business and retired.

Thereafter, they lived in Harlingen, Texas, and Mesa, Ariz., before returning to South Dakota, where they lived in Spearfish the remainder of their lives. Throughout this time, until several years ago, they enjoyed their summer home in Spearfish Canyon.

Kate enjoyed playing golf, but home, business and her garden came first. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spearfish, Past President of Belle Fourche Business and Professional Women's Club and Past President of the Women's Federated Club of Harlingen, Texas.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Genevive; her brothers, Dale, Avery, Cecil, Clifford and Carl; and her husband, E.J., on March, 2, 1999. Survivors include her brother, Richard Shewman and his wife, Opal, in Richland, Texas; her stepson, Jon Fister and his wife, Sarah, in Waterloo, Iowa; her stepdaughter, Virginia Ann Fister Murphy and her husband, Dan, in Nyack, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the Building Fund at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spearfish.

The Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home of Spearfish has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Colvin Merritt 'Spade' Cooley

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colvin Merritt "Spade" Cooley, 81, Colorado Springs and formerly of Rapid City, died Thursday, March 7, 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Marlys Cooley; three sons, Dale Cooley, Joseph Cooley and Chris Cooley; three daughters, Theresa Meyer, Trish Meek and Tisa Elsasser; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

Private memorial services will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the World War II Veterans Memorial.

Eugene Jess Reddest

POTATO CREEK - Eugene Jess Reddest, I Ku sanla Wanbli, 85, Potato Creek, died Friday, March 8, 2002, in Rapid City.

Survivors include five daughters, Andrea Marshall and Diane Lynch, both of Wall, Flora Bullman and Gwen Bullman, both of Lost Dog Creek, and Donna Smashed Eyes, Rosebud; four sons, Orville Reddest, Duane Reddest and Leroy Reddest, all of Lost Dog Creek, and Sidney Reddest, Rosebud; one sister, Viola Provencial, Rosebud; 27 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.

A two-night wake will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at St. Henry's Catholic Hall in Potato Creek.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the hall, with the Rev. Cordelia Red Owl officiating. Tommy Crow and John Around Him Sr. will officiate at traditional services.

Burial will be at St. Timothy's Episcopal Cemetery in Potato Creek.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Albert M. Sorensen

BELLE FOURCHE - Albert M. Sorensen, 83, Belle Fourche, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at Sunpointe Elderly Estates.

Survivors include four stepdaughters, Gladys Harvey, Belle Fourche, Evelyn Brekke, Sioux Falls, and Shirley Lei and Diane Floyd, both of Denver; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gertrude Hofer, Auburn, Wash.

His wife, Dolly Sorensen, preceded him in death.

He served in the U.S. Army from March 6, 1942, to Nov. 1, 1945.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Kline-Frost Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Hans Sacrison officiating.

Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Irma I. Harris

ST. ONGE - Irma I. Harris, 69, St. Onge, died Friday, March 8, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Harris, Black Hawk, Bud Harris, Belle Fourche, and Loran Harris, St. Onge; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one stepson, Randall Davis, Gillette, Wyo.; one stepdaughter, Evelyn Kinney, Ipswich; two brothers, Marvin Stanley and Jean Stanley, both of Billings, Mont.; and two sisters, Doris Barker, Nisland, and Vesta Best, Belle Fourche.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 14, at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.

Visitation will continue for one hour before services, which will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at Christian Life Center in Belle Fourche, with the Rev. Paul Howard officiating.

Burial will be at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.
