Amber Renae Bryant

Robbie Howie and Wanda Bryant are the proud parents of a daughter born Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish. Amber Renae weighed six pounds, eight ounces, and measured 19 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are May Bryant and Walt Bryant, both of Sturgis. Paternal grandparents are Andy and Tresa Howie of Newell. Great-grandparents are Art and Phyllis Bonato of Mobridge, and Ray and Georgia Howie of White Owl.

Milo Aunton Albertson

Milo Aunton Albertson, 80, of Belle Fourche died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000 at his home in Belle Fourche.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 8 at Kline Frost Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche with pastor Robert Waddell officiating. Burial followed at Pine Slope cemetery in Belle Fourche.

He was born July 28, 1920 to Albert Ludvig and Sena Marie (Sharon) Albertson. He grew up on the family homestead at Twilight and attended Karninen School.

He worked for the CC camp and helped build Orman Dam. He and his brother Leo hauled hay from North Dakota to South Dakota. In October 1942 Milo entered the United States Army and was honorably discharged October 1945. Milo married Eva Mae Huseby, May 25, 1952. He worked for American Colloid until retiring in 1977.

He is survived by his son David Aunton Albertson, Belle Fourche; step-son, Alvin C. Lee, Miles City, Mont.; daughter, Marie Rachel TeBeest, Mandan, N.D.; step-daughter Anna Jane Jochim, Salem, N.D.; two brothers, Hans Albertson, Homer, Alaska, and Leo Albertson, Big Bear, Calif.; two sisters, Margaret Seieroe, Walnut, Calif., and Nina Seieroe, Hemit, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Violet Albertson, Black Hawk, and Mildred Albertson, Charleston, S.C.; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Eva in 1994, son Lee Roy Albertson and three brothers.

Barbara N. Ackerman

The memorial service for Barbara N. Ackerman, 66, Aberdeen was held February 7 at Spitzer-Osthus Funeral Home with the Rev. Guy Stone officiating. The body was cremated. She died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998 at St. Luke’s Midland Regional Medical Center.

Spitzer-Osthus Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Barbara Bean was born August 14, 1931 at Ashton, S.D., to Floyd and Clara (Domke) Bean. Later the family moved to Aberdeen where she attended school and graduated from Aberdeen Central with the class of 1950. She married Richard Ackerman in Aberdeen on December 12, 1953. They lived in Tacoma Park, Putney and in 1986 she moved back to Aberdeen. She worked for Demmers Drive-In, Kresge’s 5 & 10, Aberdeen Truck Terminal and Ackerman Welding Supply form 1868 to 1994 when she retired due to her disability.

She was a member of the WIBA from 1966 to 1994, the Moose Lodge and was a former member of the B.R. Neighbors Extension Club.

Survivors include her six sons, Wayne Ackerman, Groton, Brian Ackerman, Aberdeen, Steven Ackerman, Columbia, John Ackerman, Aberdeen, Doug Ackerman, Rapid City, Daniel Ackerman, Salem, one step daughter, Helen Hardy, Aberdeen, her parents, Floyd and Clara Bean, one brother, Ronald Bean, Aberdeen; nine grandchildren; four step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.

Honorary Pallbearers were her sons, Wayne, Brian, Steven, Jon, Doug and Daniel Ackerman.

Helen Mae Andersen

Helen Mae Andersen 71, of Minneapolis and formerly of Pierpont, died of natural causes December 31, 1996 at Northwestern Abbott Hospital in Minneapolis. Her funeral was held January 3 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minneapolis with the Reverend Steven R. Benson officiating. Internment was at the Fort Snelling National cemetery in Minneapolis.

Helen Mae Paulson was born April 28, 1925 to Sidney and Hatvig (Krenz) Paulson in Pierpont. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She graduated from Pierpont High School in 1994 and then attended and graduated from Minneapolis Business College. She married George E. Andersen in Minneapolis on November 27, 1947. She worked ar Marquette National Bank for nine years and worked at Seward Elementary school as a media specialist for twenty years, retiring in 1987. She also assisted her husband as a bookkeeper for the Highway Clippers Federal Credit Unit. She actively participated at Bethany Lutheran Church where she served as President of the Women of Bethany, belonged to LDR Circle and sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and traveling.

Survivors include her husband of Minneapolis; one son, Garth, Minnetonka; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Cheryl) Ramirez, Minneapolis, and Mrs. Steve (Beth) Voit, Ft. Gordon, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Annabeth) Rohwer, Groton; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mrs. Ed (Ardis) Sundberg.

Clarence Bahr

Clarence Bahr, 71, Davenport, Iowa, died September 3, 1998 at Davenport Medical Center. Private graveside services were held at Davenport Memorial Park cemetery on September 5, 1998, with Runge Mortuary & Crematory in charge of arrangements.

He was currently a resident of St. Katherine’s Living Center in Davenport. Memorials may be made to St. Katherine’s or the Handicapped Development Center.

He was born on March 22, 1927 in Ferney, the son of Friederick W. and Alvina (Habenstein) Bahr. Following graduation from high school he attended the South Dakota School of Mines for three years until his illness. He then moved to Davenport and became an employee of the Handicapped Development Center for more than 40 years until his retirement in the spring of 1998.

Surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna Marie and Donald Dombrowe and Nancy and Larry Mattusch, both of Davenport; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gilbert and Sylvia Bahr of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Winfred and Marilyn Bahr of Madison, Wis., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Floyd Eldon Beaman

The funeral for Floyd Eldon Beaman, 88, longtime Bath area resident, was held January 23 at Faith United Methodist Church in Aberdeen with the Rev. Keith Hanson officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

He died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997, at ManorCare Health Services.

Floyd Eldon Beaman was born August 29, 1908 to John and Harriet (Hall) Beaman in Andover. He grew up on the family farm and attended rural schools. The family moved to a farm in the Bath area in 1929.

He married Florence Murray on October 26, 1932 in Ipswich. The made their home on a farm near Bath, where they raised their family. He had resided at ManorCare Health Services since March 1996.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. During the Bath Centennial he gave rides in his covered wagon pulled by his mules. He also took part in the South Dakota Centennial Wagon Train. He enjoyed raising horses and mules.

Survivors include his wife of rural Bath; one son, Floyd E. “Sonnie” (Diane) Beaman Jr., of Bath; four daughters, Jean (Mike) Reis, Aberdeen, Nancy (Charles) Boynton, Bath, Mary Lou (Bernell) Reed, Columbia, and Janice Snyder, Minneapolis; one brother, Donald Beaman, Dewey, Ariz.; five sisters, Velma Jones, Sunland, Calif., Viola Frazer, Bloomington, Minn., Ethel Paeth, Sioux Falls, Dorothy Hopkins, Laguna Hills, Calif., and Irene Steward, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Casketbearers were his grandsons.

Jiles Emerson Bigelow

Jiles Emerson Bigelow died at his Woodland, Calif., home August 7, 1998 at the age of 76. A mass was celebrated August 12 at Holy Rosary Church on August 12. Burial followed at Monument Hill Memorial Park.

Born July 20, 1922 in Andover, Jiles Bigelow had been a longtime resident of Woodland. He was a paratrooper in Normandy during World War II. He worked for the city of Woodland for 20 years before retiring in 1984. According to his family he enjoyed sports, coached and played softball and was an avid bowler and golfer.

He is survived by his sons, George Bigelow, Sacramento, Glen (Judy) Bigelow, Missouri, Vanus (Julie) Bigelow, Woodland, and Perry (Pennie) Bigelow, Winters; one daughter, Cynthia Bigelow, Winters; and grandchildren, Courtney, Sacramento, Cliff, Connie, Craig and Crissy, Missouri, Karron, Kristina, Julia, Maria and Michael, Woodland, and Ashley, Marcos, Vaughn and Andrew, all of Winters. He is also survived by his sisters, Viola Wertman, Woodland, Doris Stevens, Knights Landing, and Lois Erickson, Howard Lake, Minn., and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardella Mae Bigelow, and infant son, Mylo Craig Bigelow.

Kathryn L. Borchard

Kathryn L. Borchard, 53, Papua New Guinea, died of cancer on Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, at Orange, Calif. The funeral was held Monday, Jan. 13 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Aberdeen, with the Rev. William Paepke and the Rev. Ronald Laue officiating. Burial was at Trinity Lutheran cemetery, Mansfield, under the direction of the Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, Aberdeen.

Kathryn Louise Bauman was born January 11, 1943, at Garrett, Ind., to Earnest and Cora (Worman) Bauman. This is the area in which she grew up and graduated from high school. After school she was employed as a secretary at Trinity Lutheran Church in Garrett. She then went to work for Lincoln Life Insurance Company for a short time. She then attended the Lutheran Missionary Institute in Milwaukee. Kathryn then moved to Pocatello, Ind., and taught kindergarten. She was married to Terrance Borchard on June 4, 1967 at Pocatello. They moved to Papua New Guinea in 1969 as missionaries with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. They continued to live in Papua New Guinea until her health failed in December 1996 and she moved to Orange, Calif., where she lived near her daughter until the time of her death.

Kathryn is survived by her husband, Terrance, Papua New Guinea; her mother, Cora Bauman, Auburn, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Mary) Dahlia, Tustin, Calif., Tami Borchard, Japan, Rachel Borchard, Papua New Guinea one brother, James Bauman, Garrett, Ind.; and one granddaughter, Arianna Dahlia.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Casketbearers were Brian Wiedebush, David Borchard, Gary Schaunaman, David Ristau, Jeff Schaunaman and Jonathan Ristau.

Ushers were Ervin Bonnet and Leonard Feickert.

Organist was Karen Schmidt and there was congregational singing. There was special music by the family.

Boyd L. Bovee

The funeral for Boyd L. Bovee, 71, of Conde, was held Saturday, June 13, at the United Methodist Church in Conde, with the Rev. Emil Eberhart officiating.

Burial was in the Conde cemetery with Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel in Groton in charge of arrangements.

He died Friday, June 5, 1998, in Caritas Southwood Hospital in Norfolk, Mass. A memorial service was held June 6 in Foxboro, Mass. An additional memorial service will be planned in the Jackson, Wyo., area during the 1998-99 ski season.

Boyd Lawrence Bovee was born April 30, 1927, to Lloyd and Marie Lawrence Bovee in Turton. He graduated from Conde High School in 1945. He was an Army veteran, having served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division at the close of World War II, and on active duty in Korea during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge he returned to Conde and farmed. Some of the land between Turton and Conde has been in the Bovee family since the 1890s. He wintered every year in Jackson Hole, Wyo., where he was well known as an avid and expert skier.

He was a member of the American Legion in Conde.

He died during an extended visit with his sister. He had gone to Massachusetts for cataract surgery and died from bone cancer.

Survivors include one sister, Glenna Bovee McKnight of Foxboro; and nephews and nieces, James Kimball McKnight, King Ferry, N.Y., Lee Warren McKnight, Needham, Maine, Glenn Alan McKnight, Erie, Penn., Steven Boyd McKnight, New York City, Diane Marie, Boulder, Colo., and Carolyn Louise, Glendale, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

Casketbearers were James Kimball McKnight, Lee Warren McKnight, Glenn Alan McKnight, Steven Boyd McKnight, James McFarlane and Ola Barnes Jr.

Joan Fahrenwald was the organist and Keith Taylor was the usher.

Sharon L. Bundy

Sharon L. Bundy, Apple Valley, Minn., and formerly of the Groton area, died January 3, 1997 at the age of 57 years. A memorial service was held January 8 at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary in Apple Valley with Fr. Grant Robinson officiating. Internment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery.

Sharon Ulrich was born August 14, 1939 to Ervin and Ruth Ulrich. She was raised in Putney and graduated from Groton High School. She attended Northern State University in Aberdeen for one year. She moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a secretary and met her husband. They were married June 16, 1962.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; one daughter, Lynn (Guy) Zittel; one son, David (Julie) Bundy; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Jessica and Justin; and two sisters, Susan (Dale) Kurth and Penny (Craig) Wenzel, and several nieces and nephews.

Milton E. Burroughs

Milton E. Burroughs, 85, Aberdeen, died February 23, 1998 at St. Luke’s Midland Regional Medical Center, Aberdeen. The funeral was held February 27 at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, Aberdeen with the Rev. Gerold Sevig officiating. Burial was at Ellendale City cemetery, Ellendale.

Milton E. Burroughs was born on August 24, 1912 to Ernest J. and Harriet (Faurot) Burroughs at Frederick. He was raised in this area and attended country school. After his schooling he farmed with his father on the family farm. He started farming on his own in 1940. He retired in the 1980’s. He moved to Aberdeen in 1986 where he resided until the time of his death.

He enjoyed playing cards and Bingo.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, two nieces and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Casketbearers were his nephews, Jim Burroughs, John Burroughs, Rich Burroughs, David Burroughs, Scott Burroughs, Gordon Hanson, Ralph Riemer and Tom Riemer.

Arliss Alberts was the organist and Janis Pearson was the soloist.

Orville H. Dinger

The funeral for Orville H. Dinger, 82, of Jamestown and formerly of Hecla, was held September 21, 1998 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hecla. The Rev. Deb Geelsdottir officiated. Burial was in the Hecla cemetery with Franzen-Price Funeral Chapel of Hecla in charge of arrangements.

He died September 18, 1998 in Jamestown.

Orville H. Dinger was born August 23, 1916 to Lewis and Lena (Hubert) Dinger at Hecla. He married Joyce Fetters on September 5, 1940, at Webster. They farmed near Hecla from 1941 to 1987. After retirement, he lived on the farm until 1993. In 1993, due to health reasons, he moved into the Good Samaritan Center in Oakes. He later moved to the North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown.

He was a Brown County Commissioner for 20 years. He served on the Portage Township Board for several years. He acted as a Director for Northern Electric for 26 years. He was an active member of the Mason Lodge and the I.O.O.F. Lodge.

Survivors include his wife of Hecla; three sons, Gerald (Darlene) Dinger of Britton, Arnold Dinger of Hecla and Ronald (Kathy) Dinger of Armstrong, Iowa; one daughter, Linda (Mahlon) Spurr of Houghton; one brother, Hubert Dinger of Hecla; one sister, Laddie Johnson of Torrance, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, five sisters and one great granddaughter.

Casketbearers were Leroy Dinger, Brett Dinger, Bret Christensen, Ryan Dinger, Terry Spurr and Trent Spurr.

Honorary casketbearers were his grandchildren and great grandchild.

Stephanie Frohling was the organist and Terry Price was the soloist.

Ushers were Harold Dinger, Duane Dinger and Don Dinger.

Donald D. Dobberpuhl

The funeral for Donald D. Dobberpuhl, 73, of Groton was held Thursday in the United Methodist Church Groton with the Rev. Emil Eberhart officiating. Burial was in the Groton Union cemetery with Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel of Groton in charge of arrangements.

He died Monday, Feb. 2, 1998, at St. Luke’s Midland Regional Medical Center in Aberdeen.

Donald Duane Dobberpuhl was born May 6, 1924 to Edwin and Augusta (Nehls) Dobberpuhl in Groton. He grew up on a farm near Groton and attended Elementary Sunshine Country School in West Hanson Township. He then attended Groton High School. He married Gladys Gall on May 20, 1953 in Groton. They made their home on a farm near Groton. She died in 1979. He married Dorothy Kludt on September 6, 1980, in Rapid City. They farmed in the Groton area. He lived in the Groton area all of his life.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Groton, served on the West Hanson Township Board, and was a former member of the Ferney Farmers Union Board.

Survivors include one son, Duane (Christy) Dobberpuhl, Groton; one daughter, Nancy (Butch) Radke, Groton; one step son, Herb (Carl) Kludt, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two step daughters, Ramona (Monte) Beck and Wanda Kelly, both of Rapid City; his mother of Groton; two brothers, James Dobberpuhl, Richmond Lake, and Eugene Dobberpuhl, Aberdeen; one sister, LaVerle Fletcher, Custer; 11 grandchildren; eight step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, both wives and one brother.

Casketbearers were Arnold Bahr, Monte Beck, Jay Lehman, Bert Martin, Tom Paepke and Freddie Pullan.
