Robert "Bob" Kuharski was born on June 14, 1923 in Calumet City, Illinois, the son of George and Mae (Roldycz) Kuharski. He grew up and attended school in Calumet City, graduating from Hammond Technical School in welding. He entered the Army Air Corp in 1943 and later joined the United States Air Force as a radio operator flying B-17's during WWII. He also flew Air Rescue in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Bob met the love of his life Peggy Jane Keown in Rapid City at the USO Club. They were married on July 8, 1950 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Rapid City.
Bob was employed by Boeing Aircraft as a welder on the Minuteman Missile Sites. Later he started his own welding business along with operating a dairy farm with his family. He and his family operated Lake Haven in the Black Hills for twenty years. Bob later retired from Barber Transportation and worked part time at Bear Country.
Bob was known for his work ethic, honesty, uncanny wit, his competitiveness on the golf course, and as a pool shark. We will miss his humor, practical jokes, and always having the last laugh.
Grateful for having shared his life include his wife of 53 years, Peggy of Rapid City; five sons Curren Kuharski and his wife Nancy of Casper, Wyoming, Donald Kuharski of Sioux Falls, Pat Kuharski and his wife Robbie of Sacramento, California, Mitch Kuharski and his wife Annie of Denver, Colorado, and David Kuharski and his wife Maria of Rapid City; four daughters Karen Hustead and her husband Teddy of Wall, Kathy Kuharski of Bozeman, Montana, Cheryl Fenske and her husband Brian of Rapid City, and Mary Brogdon and her husband Bobbie of Dawsonville, Georgia; twenty grandchildren; two sisters Anzelma McKesson, and Delores Braun and her husband Ed all of Calumet City, Illinois.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Robert "Bob" Kuharski, age 80, of Rapid City, died Thursday morning, April 1, 2004 at his daughters home in Georgia after a lengthy illness.
Visitation was held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. all at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (5th and South St.) in Rapid City.
Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, at the church, with Father Paul Dahms as celebrant.
Interment with military honors was 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Mt. Calvary cemetery, Rapid City.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is established.
Rush Funeral Chapel in Wall is in charge of arrangements.

Eunice Johnson
age 86 of Wall, South Dakota, died June 1, 2009, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Eunice M. Sebade was born March 30, 1923, in Wall, South Dakota, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Mooney) Sebade. She grew up in Wall, starting the 1st grade in the new Wall School, the same building her children and grandchildren received their education, graduating from Wall High School in 1941. After graduation she moved to Tacoma, Washington with her brothers Norman and Delbert and their spouses, where she worked at the Woolworth’s Store. After one year she moved to Richmond, California to be closer to her boyfriend Howard, who was serving in the United States Army.
Eunice was united in marriage to Howard Johnson on September 3, 1943, in San Pablo, California. After their marriage, Eunice returned to Wall while Howard received orders to be shipped overseas. After Howard’s honorable discharge, Howard, Eunice, and their son Bob returned to California where Howard worked for Standard Oil Company. In 1946, the family returned to Wall where Howard worked as a clerk for the Wall Post Office, and Eunice raised her three children. While in Wall, Eunice also worked at the Wall Lanes for a number of years.
Eunice’s husband Howard preceded her in death on June 11, 1992. Eunice continued to live in Wall and in January of 2002, moved into the Prairie Village apartments in Wall. In May 2007, Eunice moved to the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood, where she has since resided.
Eunice was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the St. Patrick’s Altar Society, and the PTA, all of Wall.
Survivors include two sons Bob Johnson and his wife Vonna of Rapid City, and Gail Johnson and his wife Wanda of Wall; a daughter Marilyn Wulf and her husband Les of Pierre; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers Delbert Sebade and his wife Armista of Wall, Norman Sebade and his wife Doris of Tacoma, Washington, and Dayton Sebade and his wife Leah of Loveland, Colorado; two sisters Edith Paulsen of Wall, and Bernice Anderson and her husband Frank of Wall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband Howard, Eunice was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation was held 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wall, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Father Leo Hausmann as celebrant.
Interment was at the Wall cemetery.
A memorial is established.

Bonnie L. Abel
age 66 of Midland, South Dakota, died March 26, 2003, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Bonnie L. Schilling was born March 8, 1937 in Oakland, California, the daughter of Joseph and Carol (Joy) Schilling. She grew up and received her education in Midland.
In October 1954, Bonnie was united in marriage to Harold Hull in Midland, and to this union were born three daughters Peggy, Frieda and Nancy. They made their home in Midland where they raised their children. After Harold’s death on February 16, 1970, she continued to live in Midland where she finished raising her daughters. She worked as a bookkeeper at Ivan’s Standard Station in Midland.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Robert Abel. They made their home in Midland. Bonnie continued her bookkeeping occupation and also was a waitress at the cafe adjoining the station. When Bob’s health began failing, they spent the winter months in Apache Junction, Arizona and returning to Midland in the summer months.
Bob preceded her in death on May 19, 1986. She continued to make her home in Midland. In 1995 Bonnie suffered a stroke but had been able to take care of herself until the time of her death.
Bonnie was a member of Open Bible Church of Midland, very active in the American Legion Auxiliary where she held various offices; and an active member of the Senior Citizens Center of Midland.
Grateful for having shared her life are two daughters Frieda Hull of Lemmon, South Dakota, and Nancy Nemitz and her husband Lee of Ismay, Montana; two grandsons, Devin Otto and Josh Nemitz; one son-in-law, Mark Otto of Lemmon; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her first husband Harold Hull and her second husband Robert Abel, Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter Peggy Otto; one grandson Dustin Otto; and her parents.
Memorial services were held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the Open Bible Church in Midland, with Pastor Dan Carlson officiating.
Interment was in the Midland cemetery.

Myrna L. Abel
age 81 of Midland, South Dakota, died July 25, 2002, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Myrna L. Boal was born December 22, 1920 to Hugh and Anna (Rishel) Boal on a farm north of Vivian, South Dakota.
As a young girl she attended country school for three and one-half years before her parents moved into the town of Vivian. The rest of her school years were spent in the Vivian school from which she graduated.
She was united in marriage to Wilmer Abel on March 18, 1939 at Valentine, Nebraska. They made their home in Presho, South Dakota, until the fall of 1951 when the family moved to Murdo. While in Murdo, she worked in the REA office. In the fall of 1955, the family moved to Midland. In 1956 she started working at the Midland Bank, a position she held until 1983 when she retired. From 1985 to 1990 they spent the winter months in Tucson, Arizona.
After her husband’s death on December 20, 1991, she continued to reside in Midland.
Because of health reasons she moved to the Silverleaf Assisted Living in Philip in September 2001.
Grateful for having shared her life are two daughters, Miriam Schilling and her husband Ivan of Midland, and Kay Payne and her husband Norman of Philip; four grandchildren Craig Schilling and his wife Lynnette of Mitchell, Camilla Henle and her husband Wayne of Gillette, Wyoming, Carmelita Chase and her husband Ray of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Kaelyn McSherry and her husband Chris of Rapid City; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Reita Bechard of Presho; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband Wilmer "Abe", Myrna was preceded in death by a son Robert Abel; a grandson Doug Payne; her parents; and three sisters, Vera Jackson, Marjan Kearns, and Orale Boal as an infant.
Visitation was 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday July 28, 2002 at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. all at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip.
Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Monday July 29, 2002, at the Open Bible Church in Midland with Pastor Dan Carlson officiating.
Interment was at the Midland cemetery.
A memorial has been established.

Cleo Addison
age 94 of Kadoka, South Dakota, died November 29, 2009, at the Kadoka Nursing Home.
Cleo R. Orr was born November 24, 1915 in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Susan (Berg) Orr. At an early age she moved with her family to Midland, South Dakota. She grew up and received her education in Midland, graduating from Midland High School.
Cleo was united in marriage to Leonard M. Addison on February 7, 1938, in Midland. They ranched in the Stamford area until their retirement. After they retired from the ranch, they moved to Belvidere, and later into Kadoka.
Cleo’s husband Leonard preceded her in death on February 11, 2001. She continued to live at the Kadoka Nursing Home, where she resided until her death.
Grateful for having shared her life include her daughter Kathleen Leutenegger and her husband Joe of Kadoka; her son Leonard Addison of Rupert, Idaho; seven grandchildren September and her husband Cory, Shawna and her husband Richard, Shanesa and her husband Wade, Starette and her husband Brian, Melodie, Memory, and Monica; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband Leonard, Cleo was preceded in death by a daughter Melody as an infant; a grandson Shane L. Leutenegger; a daughter-in-law Joan Addison; her parents; two sisters Jean Williams and Virginia Hinker; and two brothers Charles and Roger Orr.
Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m., all at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 3, at the church, with Father Bryan Sorensen as celebrant.
Interment will follow the luncheon at the Belvidere cemetery.
The family requests memorials directed to the Kadoka Nursing Home.

Bertha A. Ainsworth
age 61 of Wall, South Dakota, died September 12, 2007, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Bertha A. Syers was born January 24, 1946, at Munising, Michigan, the daughter of Oatis and Lilllie (Overturf) Syers. Her father worked for the railroad, and they made their home in many states before moving to western South Dakota.
Bertha was united in marriage to Carl Ainsworth on October 5, 1962, in Sturgis. They made their home in the northern Black Hills until the mid 1990's, when they moved to Wall.
While in Wall she worked as a cook for the Elkton House Restaurant for several years. After her husband Carl's death on October 3, 2000, she continued to reside in Wall. She then worked as a clerk at the Wildlife Wax Museum until August 5, 2007.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and tending to her flower gardens, but was especially fond of her two cats, Harry and Gabby, which she treasured very much.
Grateful for having shared her life include three daughters Angy Smyle and her husband Frank of Rapid City, Evelyn Borko and her husband Dan "Ed" of Elemendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, and Carla Ainsworth of California; one son Everett Ainsworth of Wall; seven grandchildren; Sheshawn Wilkes, Paul and Jacob Borko, Madison Smyle, Elizabeth Ainsworth, Cole Ainsworth, and Nathan Woods; one sister Rosetta West and friend Richard Thomas of Rapid City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband Carl, Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Glenn Syers.
Visitation was held 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Wall, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Monday.
Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 17, at the Evangelical Free Bible Church in Wall, with Pastor Ron Burtz officiating.
Interment followed at the Boneita Springs cemetery, nine miles south of Enning.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is established to the Humane Society of the Black Hills.
Arrangements are with the Rush Funeral Chapel of Wall.

Arlene Joyce Albin
age 66 of Wall, South Dakota, died March 23, 2007, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Arlene Joyce Harmdierks was born December 3, 1940, in Lane, South Dakota, the daughter of George and Lena (Schroeder) Harmdierks. She grew up on her grandparents’ homestead near Lane, South Dakota, where she attended school, graduating from Lane High School in 1958. As a young girl she moved to Wall, South Dakota, where she worked at the Wall Café, Sportsman Liquor, and the Cactus Café.
Arlene was united in marriage to Robert Albin on September 25, 1965, in Rapid City, South Dakota. They made their home in Wall all their married life. She continued to work at the Cactus Café until health reasons forced her retirement in the early 1990’s.
Arlene was baptized at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lane on February 2, 1941 and later confirmed in that church. She transferred to First Lutheran Church in Wall on March 2, 1966. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working crossword puzzles.
Grateful for having shared her life include her husband Robert Albin of Wall; two sisters Darlene Berg of Gresham, Oregon, and Ruby Harper and her husband Larry of Woonsocket, South Dakota; five brothers Alvin Harmdierks and his wife Deb of Wolsey, South Dakota, Herman Harmdierks of Wessington Springs, Edwin Harmdierks and his wife Jean of Watertown, Orville Harmdierks and his wife Vickie of Wessington Springs, and Jerry Harmdierks of Wall; a half-sister Mildred Abrahamson of Denver, Colorado; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Harry and George Harmdierks; four sisters Helen Soares, Margaret Perkins, Lila Fredrichson, and Violet Steichen; and a half-brother John Hamdierks.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, at the First Lutheran Church in Wall, with Pastor Monty Dell officiating.
Interment will follow at the Wall cemetery.
A memorial is established.

Ercell E. Albin
age 92 of Parkton, Maryland, formerly of Belvidere, South Dakota, died July 1, 2006, at her residence in Maryland.
Ercell Eileen Alice Riggins was born October 29, 1913 in Clement County, Iowa, the first of eleven children born to Floyd Cecil and Marie Elizabeth (Dugan) Riggins. Ercell was baptized November 3, 1913 at the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kingsley, Iowa. She grew up and received her education in that area until moving with her family to Wanblee, South Dakota in 1932. Being the oldest girl, Ercell worked with her family to begin their home in Wanblee.
Ercell was united in marriage to Woodrow Albin on February 21, 1934, in Kadoka, South Dakota, and to this union were born two children Ross Lyle and Roy Wilson.
For the first month of their marriage, "Woody" and Ercell traveled, spending some time in Gordon, Nebraska. They made their first home northeast of Wanblee. From their they moved into a log cabin near Ercell’s mother and father until 1937. From 1937 to 1945, they lived on the Bear Creek southeast of Interior. In 1945 they moved to a farm-ranch near Belvidere. They lived on the farm-ranch all their married life. He husband "Woody" preceded her in death on December 25, 1999. After her husband’s death, Ercell moved to Parkton, Maryland, where she has since resided.
Ercell was a former member of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Belvidere, and Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka.
Survivors include two sons Ross Albin and his wife Mabel of Powell, Wyoming, and Roy Albin and his wife Rose of Parkton, Maryland; three grandchildren Roy Gene Albin, Woodrow Ross Albin, and Marcy Albin Horne; six great-grandchildren Tori, Kayla, Devin, Ezri, Randy and Jason; two great-great-grandchildren Raven and Brendan; two brothers Wayne Riggins and his wife Bonnie of Wanblee, and J.L. "Tuffy" Riggins and his wife Lola Joyce of Wall; three sisters Faye Eisenbraun of Kadoka, Valene Perault and her husband Bud of Belvidere, and Cloreta Eisenbraun and her husband Marvin of Wanblee; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband "Woody", Ercell was preceded in death by two grandchildren Rosanne Albin and Joe Dean Albin; her parents; and five brothers Harold, Cecil, Rex, Lynden, and Jerry Lee Riggins.
Visitation was held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m on Thursday, July 6, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial was held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka, with Father Bryan Sorensen officiating.
Interment was in the Belvidere cemetery.
Memorial may be directed to either the Hospice of Baltimore Inc, 6601 North Charles St. Baltimore, MD 21204, or Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church of Kadoka.

Robert Lee Albin
age 73 of Wall, South Dakota, died April 7, 2010, at his home in Wall.
Robert Lee Albin was born February 9, 1937, at his parents’ home north of Wall, the son of Lee and Ruth (Kitterman) Ablin. He grew up north of Wall, attending Lake Hill Rural School, and later attended school in Wall.
After his schooling, Robert worked for Jim Kalkbrenner for a time before working as a security guard for Boening during the installation of missiles in the area. Robert later worked seasonal for the Forest Service in Wall, before working highway maintenance for the State Highway Department.
Robert was united in marriage to Arlene Joyce Harmdierks on September 25, 1965, in Rapid City. They made their home in Wall all their married life.
He loved to play the guitar, and an avid hunter and fisherman. As a young man, he enjoyed horseback riding.
Survivors include his sister Iva Eisenbraun of Wall; a brother-in-law Lerril Hinman of Rawlins, Wyoming; five nieces and nephews, Barbara Crawford of Wasta, David Eisenbraun of Wall; Norman Eisenbraun of Wall, Ruth Beckwith of Rapid City, and Rodney Hinman of Rawlins, Wyoming; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years, Arlene on March 23, 2007; his parents; one brother Dale Albin; and two sisters Beulah Jones and Gladys Hinman.
Memorial services were held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Wall, with Pastor Sheri Fadley officiating.
Interment was in the Wall cemetery.
A memorial is established.

Beryl W. "Bud" Allen
age 88 of Kadoka, died November 13, 2007, Kadoka Nursing Home
Beryl “Bud” Allen was born November 15, 1918, in a house his father built in Ansley, Nebraska, the son of Peter G. and Agnes (Duncanson) Allen. As a child the family lived on a farm in the Ansley area and a ranch in the Burwell, Nebraska area. In 1926, the family moved to a farm east of Longvalley in Washabaugh County. He completed his education in that community. As a young man he worked for his parents and Maurice and Mae Handcock for several years. In 1940, he and Carson Dithmer moved to California to work on the railroad. After Pearl Harbor they returned to the Longvalley area to sign up for the military, but because of a health issue he was not eligible to serve.
Bud was united in marriage to Geraldine Susie Terkildsen on October 31, 1942, in Kadoka, South Dakota. They lived on his parents’ farm for four years before purchasing a farm-ranch north of his parents. He and his brother Wayne owned dirt moving equipment and built many dams in South Dakota. In 1968, they moved to Kadoka but continued to operate the farm. In the early 1970’s, he started a rural mail route from Kadoka to Hisle. He continued this until retiring in 1986. They have since made their home in Kadoka.
Bud was a member of the Kadoka Presbyterian Church, and a former member of the Kadoka Lions Club. He also served on the Washabaugh County School Board for many years. He and his neighbor Carson built and maintained the telephone line from Plainview Area School to Kadoka. He also maintained county roads. Bud was an avid baseball fan and was a baseball umpire in the Longvalley area for many years.
Grateful for having shared his life include his wife Geraldine of Kadoka; one son Clarence Allen and his wife Nancy of Martin; three daughters Patsy Larson of Gillette, Wyoming, Janis Perkins of Denver, Colorado, and Wilma Tope and her husband Jay of Belle Fourche, South Dakota; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister Ruth Schreiner of Wray, Colorado; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Wayne C. and Orval P. Allen; and one sister Lulu Hyatt.
Visitation was held 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 16, at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Kadoka, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Saturday.
Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, at the Presbyterian Church in Kadoka, with Pastor Gary McCubbin officiating.
Interment was in the Kadoka cemetery.
A memorial is established.

Juanita A. Bowen, age 81, of Philip, died Tuesday, March 07, 2006, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.
Juanita A. Elvert was born May 12, 1924, in Miami, Florida, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Loudmilk) Elvert. At the age of four, she moved with her parents to Winter Beach, Florida, where she received her education. As a young lady she worked in the sugar beet fields in the Winter Beach area.
Juanita was united in marriage to Odie Dale Bowen on September 11, 1943 in Vero Beach, Florida. They made their home in Virginia and Arizona, where Dale was serving in the United States Army.
After his discharge, they moved to Arizona until 1946, when they moved to the Philip area. While in Philip, Juanita worked for Fred Robins and later at the Park Inn Cafe for Pinky Anderson. She then worked as a dish washer for the Philip School System until a car accident in 1994 forced her to retire.
In 2000, due to health reasons, she moved into the Philip Nursing Home, where she has since resided.
Her husband, Odie Dale Bowen preceded her in death on September 13, 2000.
Juanita was a member of the First Lutheran Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary, both of Philip.
Survivors include a son Charles Bowen and his wife Linda of Rapid City; six daughters Dorthy Parkes and her husband Philip of Tonopah, Arizona; Vickie White and her husband Randy of Alvin, Texas, Brenda Bowen of Decatur, Iowa, Theresa Miller and her husband Roy of Philip, Connie Schlim and her husband Clyde of Philip, and Marla Boyd and her husband Randy of Philip; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters.
In addition to her husband, Juanita was preceded in death by a son Robert "Bob" Bowen; two brothers Charles and Lawrence Elvert; and two sisters Annabelle and Mary.
Visitation was held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Saturday.
Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 11, at the United Church in Philip, with Pastor Mark Ford officiating.
Interment was 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, at the Black Hills National cemetery in Sturgis.
A memorial is established.
