Pierre - The funeral for Frederick Earl Schreier, 57, of Pierre and formerly of Eagle Butte, will be at 2 p.m. MDT Monday at the United Church of Chirst in Eagle Butte. The Rev. Allen Mentor will officiate.

Patricia Lou Bloom
Patricia Lou Bloom, 67, of Fort Yates died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in Mandan, N.D., while recovering from heart surgery.

John M. Johnson
Escondido, Calif. - John M. Johnson, 86, of Escondido, Calif., formerly of the Aberdeen area died Monday, July 22, 2002.

Alice V. Palmquist
Aberdeen - The funeral for Alice V. Palmquist, 89, of Aberdeen and formerly of Langford, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Highlanda Lutheran Church near Langford. The Rev. Jeff Redlin will officiate.

Ambrose M. Gollnick
Webster - Mass of Christian burial for Ambrose M. Gollnick, 81, of Webster will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster. The Rev. Bill Hamak will officiate.

Annabelle Eilene Bierman
Aberdeen - The funeral for Annabelle Eilene Bierman, 77, of Aberdeen will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mansfield. The Rev. Wesley Hafner will officiate.

Lloyd Jensen Sr.
Lantry - The funeral for Lloyd Jensen Sr., 50, of Lantry will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, at the H.V. Johnston Cultural Center in Eagle Butte. Deacon Ted Knife, Sister Addie Morris and Chug Garreau will officiate.

Donna Mae Janke
Donna Mae Janke, 49, of Bismarck died of cancer on Sunday, July 28, 2002, at her home.

Roy G. Goben
Glenham - The funeral for Roy G. Goben, 91, of Glenham will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Southern Baptist Church in Mobridge. The Rev. Joe Reynolds will officiate.

Watertown - The funeral for Nellie Peterson, 81, of Watertown formerly of Hayti and Willow Lake, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at The Furness Funeral Home Chapel in Clark. The Rev. Kris Ferkin will officiate.

Delores E. (Furman) Selzler
Delores E. (Furman) Selzler, 76, of Sebring and formerly of Britton and Aberdeen, died Friday, July 26, 2002, at her daughter's home in Sebring after a long battle with cancer.

Russell A. Roberts
Russell A. Roberts, 81, of Raymond, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at the Beverly Healthcare Center in Clark.

Bernard Kaiser
Bernard Kaiser, 79, of Bismarck and formerly of Webster, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at a Bismarck hospital.

Galen E. Hoffman
Chandler, Ariz. - Galen E. Hoffman, 61, of Chandler and formerly of Ipswich, died Monday, July 15, 2002, at the Neely-Rae Hospice House in Mesa, Ariz.

August Hoffman
Eureka - The funeral for August Hoffman, 91, of Eureka will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Eureka. The Rev. Dean Nelson will officiate.

Mary Rohrich

Strasburg, N.D. - Mary Rohrich, 98, of Strasburg and formerly of Linton, N.D., died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at the Strasburg Care Center.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Linton. The Rev. Bruce Krebs will officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery with Myers Funeral Home in Linton in charge of arrangements.

A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Mary Senger was born Jan. 10, 1904, to Anton A. and Marion (Eisemzimmer) Senger east of Linton. Her family was one of the first five Germans from Russia families to homestead in Emmons County. She attended rural school.

She married Joseph K. Rohrich on Oct. 6, 1925. They made their home on a farm east of Strasburg. In 1941, they moved to a farm east of Linton. They retired and moved into Linton in 1967. He died in 1988. She entered the Strasburg Care Center Feb. 27, 1991.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Linton and Christian Mothers.

She enjoyed traveling, crocheting and cooking.

Survivors include six sons, F.C. "Clem" (Shirley) Rohrich of Linton, Claude (Katherine) Rohrich of Zeeland, N.D., Irvin (Delores) Rohrich of Seattle, Roger (Sandy) Rohrich of Woodenville, Wash., Clarence Rohrich of Ashfork, Ariz., and Wilbert (Sandi) Rohrich of Everett, Wash.; three daughters, Irene Penoske of Milwaukee, Lorraine Chies of Minneapolis and Yolanda (Connie) Van Alstine of Waterford, Wis.; one sister, Julia Richter of Lodi, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and four sisters.

Casketbearers will be Ray Senger, Alvin Kelsch, Tony Kelsch, Al Dosch, Leo Roehrich and Willie Ibach.

Bette E. Engle

Aberdeen - The memorial service for Bette E. Engle, 78, of Aberdeen will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Arcadia Unit of ManorCare Health Services. The Rev. Royal Archer will officiate.

Her body was cremated.

Spitzer-Osthus Funeral Home, 320 Sixth Ave. S.E., is in charge of arrangements.

She died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at ManorCare Health Services.

Bette E. Nein was born May 5, 1923, to John and Frances (Burris) Nein in Delaware, Ohio.

She married Roydon Engle on Oct. 2, 1946, in Detroit. She was an accountant for the U.S. Coast Guard Exchange in Traverse City, Mich., before working as a realtor for Boardman Realty Company. She then opened Swansdown Needlecraft in the Logan's Landing complex. They lived in Traverse City for 40 years before they moved to Aberdeen to be near their daughter.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, where she served two terms as president.

She was an accomplished organist. She also enjoyed playing bridge, needlepoint and reading.

Survivors include her husband of Aberdeen; one daughter, Jan (John) Weaver of Aberdeen; one sister, Marguerite Yerke of Roscommon, Mich.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, three brothers and five sisters.

Frances Juanita Luken

Watertown - Frances Juanita Luken, 68, of Watertown and formerly of Hazel, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at a Sioux Falls hospital.

Her funeral will be at 10

a.m. Saturday at Ninth Avenue United Methodist Church in Watertown. The Rev. Ervin Rudolph will officiate.

Burial will be in the Hazel Cemetery. Crawford Funeral Chapel of Watertown is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, and prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Frances Juanita Cudd was born July 29, 1933, to James and Daisy (Floyd) Cudd in Thomaston, Ga.

She married Roger Loren Luken on June 3, 1950, in Augusta, Ga. They traveled extensively with the military before retiring to Hazel.

Survivors include four daughters, Deborah (John) Rieck of Warner, Denise (Herman) Ottenbacher of Watertown, Ursula (Todd) Johnson of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Katrina (Greg) Wiedebush of Huron; 10 grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild.

Lydia Roberts

Aberdeen - The funeral for Lydia Roberts, 92, of Aberdeen will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Huebl Funeral Chapel, 1111 S. Main St. The Rev. Harold E. Salem will officiate.

Burial will be Friday in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service, all at the funeral home.

She died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.

Lydia Schauer was born Oct. 4, 1909, to Christian G. and Christina (Mayer) Schauer in Neudorf, South Russia. She moved with her family to New York, N.Y., on Nov. 11, 1911. They moved to McPherson County, where she grew up. She graduated from Ashley High School in Ashley, N.D. She then attended college in Ellendale, N.D. She taught at rural schools in McIntosh County, N.D.

She married Archie F. Roberts on Feb. 17, 1940, in Minneapolis. They made their home in Minneapolis. He died May 15, 1951, and she moved to Aberdeen. She made Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lou Bierman of Aberdeen; and one sister, Emma Weisser of Aberdeen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and four sisters.

Casketbearers will be her nephews and her niece.
