Adam Scott Kramer

Adam Scott Kramer, age 27, of Willits, California and formerly of Huron, died of natural causes on Monday, October 9th, at his residence at Willits. His memorial service was 10:30AM on Friday, October 20, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Rinearson officiating. Burial of his cremated remains was at the Maplewood cemetery at Iroquois. Visitation was from 1 to 9 PM on Thursday, October 19th, at the Kuhler Funeral Home with the family present from 7 to 8:30 PM on Thursday evening.

Adam was born on October 9, 1979, at Belle Fourche, South Dakota to Hans and Carrol (Rasmussen) Kramer. Adam was born with Spina Bifida and required surgery shortly after birth. He was challenged with a walking handicap as a result of the Spina Bifida. He moved to Huron in 1983, and grew up here. He received his education in the Huron School System. In 2000, he moved to Oregon and worked for several years for a commercial fisherman. He then moved to California, and most recently had been living at Willits, California.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; and one uncle, Alan Rasmussen

Survivors include his mother and step-dad, Carrol and Scott Rodman, of Mitchell; his father, Hans Kramer, of Huron; his brother, Josh Kramer, of Huron; and a step-sister, Darlene Kramer; two nieces, Morgan and Piper Kramer, of Huron; his paternal grandmother, Berle Merrill, of Alpaugh, California; two aunts, Sharleen (Don) Smith, of Huron, and Sue Rasmussen, of Kaukauna, Wisconsin; four uncles, Dennis Rasmussen, of Greenfield, Wisconsin, Ron (Diane) Rasmussen, of Mosinee, Wisconsin, Rich (Diana) Rasmussen, of Farmington, Minnesota, and Eugene Kramer, of Pacifica, California.

Rachel L. Goehner

Rachel Goehner, age 25, of Moorhead MN, and formerly of Huron, died Friday, November 3, 2006 at her residence. Her funeral service was 2PM Tuesday, November 7th at the Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Brian Grover officiating. Burial was in the Riverside cemetery. Visitation was from 1 to 9 PM Monday at the Kuhler Funeral Home and prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. The family was present at the funeral home from 7 to 8 PM Monday evening.

Rachel Leigh Goehner was born December 10, 1980, in Aberdeen, to Wes and Shari (Weidner) Goehner. She attended American Lutheran Preschool, Madison Elementary School, Huron Middle School, and graduated from Huron High School in 1999.

Rachel attended Cottey Junior College in Nevada, Missouri for two years and then attended Dakota State University for a year. She was currently finishing a degree in graphic design at Moorhead State University. She was employed at East River Nursery for several summers.

While in high school, Rachel was active in band, jazz band, choir and the Madrigals. When she was a junior and senior in high school, she wrote articles on hockey for the Huron Plainsman. At Cottey Junior College, she played varsity basketball for two years, wearing #23, the number of her favorite player, Michael Jordan. During her second year at Cottey College, Rachel studied in London and wrote two articles for the Huron Plainsman about her trip. Her hobbies included drawing and painting, writing, sports activities and playing the piano.

She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Huron, where she was baptized and confirmed. Rachel was very active in the church including singing in choir, playing in handbell choir, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible school and helping with soup suppers.

She was preceded in death by two aunts, Karon Goehner and Shirley Goehner Cain.

She is survived by her parents, Wes and Shari Goehner, of Huron; her sister, Jennifer (Shawn) Gross, of Aberdeen; her brother, Ryan (Heather) Goehner, of Vermillion; her sister, Rebecca Goehner, of Huron; her grandparents, Art and Martha Goehner, of Huron, Marlene and Marv Hoerauf, of Huron, and Harold and Gloria Weidner, of Apache Junction, Arizona; two nieces, Makaela and Payton Gross, of Aberdeen; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Forrest Paulson

Forrest L. Paulson, age 79, of 780 Frank Ave SE, died Thursday, November 30, 2006 at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was 2 PM Thursday, December 7th at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. William Holmes officiating. Burial was in the Riverside cemetery with military rites by the Huron Veterans Council. Visitation was from 1 to 9PM Wednesday at the Kuhler Funeral Home and prior to the service at the church on Thursday afternoon. The family was present from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Forrest Paulson was born on January 18, 1927, at Hitchcock, South Dakota to Fred and Nata (Brown) Paulson. He grew up on a farm near Hitchcock and graduated from Hitchcock High School. In 1945 Forrest entered the Army Air Corps. He returned to Huron in 1947 and attended Huron College, and then graduated from the University of South Dakota. Forrest taught school for several years, and then attended the Northwest College of Commerce. In 1954, he began work with Northwestern Public Service Company in the accounting department. He worked there until his retirement in December 1985.

Forrest married Charlotte Gravett on July 12, 1957, at Huron.

He was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and church treasurer, and had taught Sunday school. He enjoyed reading and traveling.

Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Donald.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte, of Huron; four sons, Rodney (Lisa), of Colman, Clinton (Cathy), of Huron, Jeffrey (Linda), of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Scott (Sharon), of Montevideo, Minnesota; twenty grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, Anna, Matthew, Carissa, Elizabeth, Marisela, Barbara, Juana, Amanda, Erik, Courtney, Benjamin, Laurel, Lily, Linden, Leif, Leighton, Lincoln and Logan; and one great-grandson, Gideon.

Dr. Edwin J. Tschetter

Dr. Edwin J. Tschetter, age 71, of Huron, died Thursday, December 7th at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. His funeral service was 10:30 AM Monday, December 11th at Mt. Olivet Mennonite Church with the Rev. Kendall Carlson officiating. Burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens cemetery. Visitation was from 1 to 9 PM Sunday at the Kuhler Funeral Home and prior to the service at the church on Monday morning. The family was present from 6 to 8 PM Sunday with a time of sharing at 7 PM. The family prefers memorials.

Dr. Edwin John Tschetter was born to Paul P. and Barbara J. (Gross) Tschetter, March 7, 1935, on a farm 7 1/2 miles southwest of Bridgewater. He attended a one-room country school in McCook County for the first grade and most of the second grade. He moved with his family to Bridgewater in February 1943. Edwin graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1953, and from Freeman Junior College in the one-year teacher education program in 1954, and the two-year program in 1957. In 1963, he received in Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Southern State Teachers College in Springfield and a Master of Science degree in elementary school administration from Northern State College in 1968. After five summers and one full year of study, he earned the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree from the University of Wyoming in 1974.

Edwin enlisted in the Army National Guard on April 27, 1957, at Parkston, South Dakota. He served on active duty at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri from July 26, 1957, to January 25, 1958. He and two of his good friends, Vernon Hofer and Eldon Wollmann, enlisted at the same time. Edwin was granted an honorable discharge from the military on April 26, 1963.

Edwin accepted Christ as his personal savior as a teenager and was baptized on October 5, 1952, along with his sister, Darlene, by Rev. Albert Ewert, and became a member of the Neu Hutterthal Mennonite Church. On April 17, 1965, during special meetings conducted by Rev. Vernon Duerkson at the Neu Hutterthal Church, Edwin received the assurance of salvation and dedicated his life to the Lord. In 1974, he transferred his membership to the Mt. Olivet Mennonite Church in Huron.

Edwin taught two years in one-room country schools, one year (1954-55) in Turner County and one year (1955-56) in McCook County, the same school he attended as a first and second grader. He taught sixth grade at Salem, South Dakota from 1958-1969, and the last eight years he also served as elementary principal. From 1969 until his retirement in 1997, he taught at Huron College/Huron University, where he was Director of Elementary Education. In addition to teaching, he had various other responsibilities over the years, including Chairman of the Professional Studies Division, Head of the Education Department, Acting Dean of the School of Arts & Science, Education & Human Services, and from 1985-1989, Dean of Academic Affairs. Edwin loved teaching and often stated he enjoyed going to work in the morning.

Edwin was a lifetime member of the South Dakota Education Association. During his professional career he also had membership in several professional organizations including National Education Association, Pi Gamma Mu, Phi Delta Kappa, South Dakota Associations in Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, and the International Reading Association. Each year while at Huron University, he was campus advisor for South Dakota National Education Association - Student Program (Education Club). He also served as faculty sponsor/advisor for Pi Gamma Mu many years.

Edwin was selected Teacher of the Year for 1981-82, and Colleague of the Year in 1991-92 and 1993-94. On March 18, 1994, he was surprised at an appreciation dinner in his honor for 25 years of service to Huron University. He also received a citation for his 25 years at the 1994 commencement ceremony. In Fall 1994, he was selected to be one of the grand marshals for the Huron University homecoming parade. In 1996 and again in 1998, he was named to the "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" list. On November 22, 1997, he was bestowed the honor of Professor Emeritus at the Huron University fall commencement. On October 3, 1998, he was inducted into the Huron University Athletic Hall of Fame as a contributor.

Edwin was also active in his church. He taught Sunday school for many years, beginning as a teenager and he served as Sunday school superintendent for several years. He was on the deacon board and church council for 12 years, and for three of those years, he also served as the church moderator. He was a counselor for both the Bill Glass and the John Wesley White crusades and also sang in the mass choir for the John Wesley White Crusade. He was thrilled to hear Franklin Graham preach in the Huron Arena. Edwin sang in the men's chorus and church choir for many years. He was chairman of the 50th anniversary steering committee for the Mt. Olivet Church (1995) and was the coordinator of the 50th anniversary church history book.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Gross and Elsie S. Wipf; and a brother, David S. Tschetter.

He is survived by his brothers, Paul S. Tschetter of Bridgewater, Solomon (Edna) Tschetter of Huron, Melvin (LaVonne) Tschetter of Freeman; his sisters, Marie Hayes of North Carolina, Susie (Wilmer) Bunger of Emery, Darlene (Victor) Schaeffer of Yankton, Evelyn (Kenneth) Wallmann of Huron, Diane (Orval) Graber of Winner and Judy (Allen) Schofield of Chamberlain; and one aunt, Sarah Glanzer of Marion.

Leona Wayrynen

Leona Wayrynen, age 72, of 1666 First Street NW, died Friday, December 8, 2006, at her home. Her funeral service was 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 14, 2006, at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. William Holmes officiating. Burial was in the Garfield cemetery in Bryant on Saturday, December 16, 2006, at 11:00 AM with the Pastoral Staff of the Faith Mennonite Church officiating. Visitation was from 1 to 9 PM Wednesday at the Kuhler Funeral Home and prior to the service at the church on Thursday morning. The family was present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Keith Kuschel, Jason Wayrynen, Bradley Madsen, Mark McDermaid, Lon McWhorter, and Kenneth Wallenstein.

Leona Avis Braaten was born on September 20, 1934, on the family farm at rural Hayti, South Dakota, to Henry and Ethel (Horswill) Braaten. She grew up on the farm, and received her education at Hamlin County Cleveland #2 country school; she then worked in the Watertown area. Leona married Kenneth Robert Duane Wayrynen on August 21, 1953 at Watertown, South Dakota.

The family lived in the Bryant area, then moved to California and lived in the Los Angeles area, where Leona cleaned houses. In 1965, the family moved back to Mitchell, where Leona cooked at several restaurants. From 1969 to 1978, the family then lived at Lake Preston, where Leona worked at Susie's Cafe'. The family moved to Huron in 1978, Leona worked at the Huron Regional Medical Center in the dietary department, as well as taking care of people in their homes.

Leona was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was an AA sponsor for years, and enjoyed helping people. Leona loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by two sons, Douglas, in infancy, and Kevin August 20, 1985; two brothers, Robert Braaten, and Juel Braaten; and six sisters Doris Snyder, Evangeline Braaten, Bernice Schiernbeck, Margie Oliger, Lillian Braaten, and Joanne Braaten.

Grateful for sharing her life are her children, Kathleen Wayrynen, of Presho, Melinda Mansfield, of Rapid City, Patricia Kuschel, of Iroquois, Matthew Wayrynen, of Huron, Jennifer Wayrynen, of Chamberlain; seven grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Buchholz, Bradley Madsen, Jason Lee Paul Wayrynen, Keith Michael Kuschel, Mitchell Douglas Kuschel, Trysta Zeman, and Tynia Zeman; three great grandchildren, Braden, Madalyn, and Korbin; two sisters, Gertrude Holland, of Edmonds, Washington, and Joyce Laughlin, of Bryant.

Joshua Gilchrist

Joshua Gilchrist, age 15, of 1461 McDonald Drive, died Friday, January 26th at his home. His memorial service was at 3 PM Thursday, February 1st, at the Huron High School Auditorium with Rev. Dean Lindstad officiating. Private burial was in Altoona cemetery at Hitchcock. A memorial will be established.

Joshua Thomas Gilchrist was born February 16, 1991, at Huron to Jon and Betty Jo (Kopischke) Gilchrist. He lived his entire life in Huron, receiving his education at Washington Elementary School, Huron Middle School and Huron High School, where he was currently a sophomore. He was an honor student and appeared to have a very promising future. He could really wail on his guitars.

Josh was an accomplished musician and composer, even at his young age, and music was his main love and hobby. He was a member of the Huron High School Band, Orchestra, and Jazz Band as well as the Huron Symphony. He had been in Boy Scouts for several years. He was an active member of the Open Bible Church in Huron and played in the church band for the past few months. He was an avid reader and participated in soccer in his younger years.

Survivors include his father, Jon Gilchrist; his sister Rebekah Gilchrist; his paternal grandparents, Warren and Esther Gilchrist of Hitchcock, his maternal grandparents, Edward and Marlys Kopischke of Madison Lake, MN; his aunts and uncles, Janie (John) Person of Watkins, CO, Barbara (Bill) Christwitz of Clearlake, CA, Tom (Sherry) Gilchrist of Springfield, SD, Becky (Mark) Clasen of Isanti, MN, Blaine (Lorri) Kopischke of Waterville, MN, Bonnie (Rick) Stickley of Morristown, MN, and Bruce (Denise) Kopischke of Madison Lake, MN; many cousins and friends; and Danil Antonov of Nizhniy Tagil, Russia, the exchange student who lived with the Gilchrist family.

Josh was preceded in death by his great-grandparents and his mother, Betty Gilchrist.

Marian Dutcher

Marian Dutcher, age 90, of Huron, died Monday, March 26, 2007, at the Huron Nursing Home. Her funeral service was 11:00 AM Friday, March 30, 2007, at the Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Brian Grover officiating. Burial was in the Hetland cemetery.

Marian C. Wonsbeck was born June 30, 1916, at Arlington, South Dakota to Walter and Catherine (Nelson) Wonsbeck. She attended Hetland and Lake Preston High Schools graduating in 1934. On August 30, 1935, she married Verle Dutcher at Hetland. They made their home at Hetland until 1942, when they moved to Huron.

Marian was a food supervisor at St. John's Hospital for twenty-six years. She also worked at the Huron Nursing Home. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ.

Marian enjoyed meeting with her weekly coffee group for many years. Her yard was always full of flowers and she liked feeding the birds. Marian missed the farm when she moved to Huron, and went to her parent’s farm every chance she had. She was very good about visiting friends at the hospital and nursing homes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Verle, in 1985; two sisters; two brothers; and one son, Wallace, in 1964.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Maurine (Wallace) Hortness, of Sioux Falls; her son, Val (Susan) Dutcher, of Apex, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Larry) Wiedenman, Darci (Greg) Schjodt, Douglas (LaVette) Hortness, Scott Hortness, Eric (Laura) Hortness, Julie (John) Foley, and Pamela (Eric) Sessoms; and three great-grandchildren, Emily and Anna Foley and Jada Hortness.

Anna Wyld

Anna Wyld, age 87, of Huron, died Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Huron Nursing Home. Her funeral service was 2 PM Monday, May 21st at the Hutterthal Mennonite Church, rural Carpenter, with the Rev. Matthew Stacey officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Norm Nelson, Compassion Radio - PO Box 2770, Orange, CA 92859.

Anna Hofer was born August 19, 1919, at Hitchcock, South Dakota to John J.K. and Sarah (Tschetter) Hofer. She grew up in the Hitchcock area and attended rural schools. Anna graduated from the Sunnyside Bible School in Freeman. Her faith was very important to her and she read the Bible and prayed three times each day. On January 11, 1949, she married Edwin Wyld at Des Moines, Iowa. After they were married they did missionary work, living in Des Moines, where Anna also worked in the hospital. They moved to Morrison, Illinois where Anna worked at the Mt. Carmel Orphanage and then they moved to Chicago where she worked at the Chicago Mission. They returned to the Cavour and Huron area and she entered the Huron Nursing Home in February 2007.

She was baptized upon confession of faith and was active in the churches where she lived.

Anna is survived by her husband, Edwin Wyld, of Huron; five sisters, Alma J. Hofer of Huron, Kathryn (Harry) Becker of Huron, Dorothy Wipf of Huron, Edna (Solomon)Tschetter of Huron and Beverly (Gary) Frankenstein of Huron; and five brothers, Joe (Glenna) Hofer of Denver, Colorado, Mel (Marilyn) Hofer of Huron, Herb (DeeAnn) Hofer of Huron, Allen (Ella Mae) Hofer of Sioux Falls and Eldon E. (Alie) Hofer of Hitchcock; two sisters-in-law, Josephine Hofer of Huron and Dorothy Walters of Warsaw, IN; one brother-in-law, Jake Hofer of Hitchcock; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Rose, her brothers John and Leon, and two brothers-in-law, Ben Fast and Elmer Wipf.

Christy Hofer

Christy Hofer, age 96, of 1438 Kansas NE, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at his home. His funeral service was at 11 AM Friday, May 9, 2008, at Bethesda Church with the Rev. Phil Plett officiating. Burial was 10 AM Friday at the Ideal cemetery.

Christy Hofer was born September 16, 1911 at Yale, South Dakota to Paul T. and Barbara (Wurtz) Hofer. He married Edna A. Wipf at Carpenter, South Dakota on March 31, 1935. They were married for seventy-one years. After fifty-six years of farming together, they retired in 1990, and moved to Huron.

Christy enjoyed life to its fullest. He always made you laugh and had a story to tell you. Christy served on the Beadle County Weed Board for forty-two years. He enjoyed his family and hunting and fishing with his sons. He took several trips with his brother-in-law Marvin Walter. In 1966, he and Marvin flew to Alaska and they also made several trips to Canada.

He was a member of Bethesda Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna A. Hofer; his son, Lee Allen Hofer; seven sisters, Susie Walz, Mary Hofer, Anna Hofer, Justina Hofer, Emma Tschetter, Rebecca Hofer, and Christina Dillman; and six brothers, Edward, Jacob, John, Clifford, Sam, and Paul P.W. Hofer.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Kaye Corcoran of Billings, Montana, and Wayne (Jeannie) Hofer of Huron; his daughter-in-law, Doris Hofer of Tea.; thirteen grandchildren, Valerie (Jim) Anderson, Rhonda (Cregg) Else, Chris (Angela) Hofer, Jim (Shelly) Corcoran, Kristy (Rocky) Erickson, Eddie (Jill) Corcoran, John (Kristine) Corcoran, Don Corcoran, Paul Corcoran, Melissa Hofer, Jennifer Hofer, Michael (Amy) Hofer, and Andy Gross; nineteen great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Ariana, Bethany, Rachel, Joslyn, Zack (Kelli), Jordan, Tristan, Ethan, Aidan, Jesse (Kim), Teresa, Karissa, Kory, Edward III, Alexandria, Johnathan, Nathan, MaKayla, and Lucas; one great-great-grandson, Elijah; and one sister, Alma Dillman of Wausau, Wisconsin.

Robert Horton

Robert Horton was born on October 12, 1937, to Guy A. and Marian C. (Hardy) Horton at Baraboo, Wisconsin.

On April 27, 1958, Robert married Cora Beryl Ringheimer at Huron. He served in the United States Air Force as a medic from 1958 until 1988 at many locations around the world including Korea, Vietnam, Belgium and Japan and many locations state side. In 1988, he retired at Offutt Air Force Base at Omaha, Nebraska.

Bob enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Horton; and one brother-in-law, Donald Schinderling.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Beryl of Huron; three children, Barbara and her husband, Richard Zeller of Lake Poinsett, Richard and his wife, Janice of Rapid City, and Pam and her husband, Todd Vaughn of Box Elder; seven grandchildren, Amy (Todd) Bunker, Anna Vaughn, Monty Vaughn, Bobby Zeller, Richard Horton Jr., Troy Horton and Brian Belakjon; four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Mason and Aimslee Bunker and Paxten Belakjon; one brother, Richard Horton of Huron; one sister, Adrianne Schinderling of Rapid City; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Harvey N. Gapp

Harvey Gapp, age 91, of 290 21st St SW, died June 4, 2008, at the Huron Nursing Home. His memorial service was 11 AM Monday, June 9th at the American Lutheran Church with the Rev. Steven Brandsrud officiating. A private burial was in the Restlawn Memory Gardens cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Harvey Gapp Scholarship Fund at James Valley Christian School, 290 21st St SW #101, Huron, SD 57350.

Harvey Nelson Gapp was born November 22, 1916, to Edward and Sarah (Nelson) Gapp at his parents’ farm in Adams County, North Dakota, across the state line from Lemmon, South Dakota. He attended rural school in North Dakota until his family moved to Lemmon. In 1933, Harvey graduated from Lemmon High School.

On January 11, 1941, Harvey married Gertrude Allgier at the Lutheran parsonage at Webster, South Dakota.

Harvey was a salesman for the Nash Finch Company in Aberdeen, transferring to Huron Grocery, a branch of Nash Finch, as assistant manager for a total of six years. In January 1949, he started working for Huron Steel Structures, owned by Jerry Brodsky. Harvey later purchased the company in 1953.

Many steel buildings in Huron and surrounding areas were designed and erected by Harvey. Included are churches in Bruce, Willow Lake, Emmanuel south of Doland and the former Christian Science in Huron; sale barns in Winner, Highmore, Lemmon; three rural schools including James Valley Christian School and gym that was flooded near Lake Byron; fire halls in Miller and Redfield; many co-op stations; and car dealerships in Huron and Pierre. Huron Steel also sold many irrigation systems. Harvey designed and built Prairie Villa Mobile Home Park, which he owned for six years. He retired in 1981, selling Huron Steel to Larry Greff, who worked for him at the time.

Harvey was a member of American Lutheran Church, Huron Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, and past member of Huron Sertoma, Huron Lions and United Commercial Travelers.

Harvey enjoyed playing cards until his eyesight was lost. He also relished in teaching his grandchildren to drive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, two in infancy and Albert and his wife, Markey Gapp; and one sister, Crystal and her husband, Walter Monson.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife of 67 years, Gertrude of Huron; one daughter, Lynda Homa and her special friend, Steve Liebbrand of Carthage, Missouri; Lynda’s children, Colene Homa and Josh of Kansas City, Missouri, Amy (John) Ralston and Joseph and Thomas of Weirton, West Virginia, Mike Homa of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Susan (Jay) Dawson and Cole and Elle of Saranac Lake, New York; one son, Dr. Thomas Gapp and his wife, Linda of Lincoln, Nebraska; Thomas’ children, Charlotte Gapp of Brooklyn, New York, Laura (Jonathan) Aten of Lincoln, Nebraska and Jon Gapp of Lincoln, Nebraska; one son-in-law, Dr. Dan Homa of Bradford, Pennsylvania; faithful friends, Floyd Kopfmann and Renada, Bill, Marissa and Bryan Cahill; and seven nieces and one nephew.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Harvey Gapp Scholarship Fund at James Valley Christian School. While Harvey owned Huron Steel Structures he built their first school and gym in 1972 near Lake Byron. Huron Steel Structures also built the present school in Huron, under the ownership of Larry Greff.
