Luella Alice (Herr) Goehring, 90
November 23, 1926 - June 13, 2017

Funeral services for Luella Goehring were held June 19 at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour. Casketbearers were Kriss Goehring, Brett Goehring, Josh Goehring, Ryan Goehring, Scott Tegethoff and Shawn Goehring. Officiating was the Rev. Gail Sperlich, with music provided by Elsa Tapio, soloist. Burial will be held at Delmont City cemetery at a later date.

Luella Alice Goehring was born November 23, 1926, to Adolph and Sarah (Auch) Herr. She attended country school northeast of Tripp. She married Lotar Goehring February 1, 1953, at Friedens Reformed Church in Tripp by the Rev. Walter Odenbach. Together, they farmed north of Delmont until retiring in 1990 when they moved east of Delmont across from the Delmont Golf Course. Lotar died August 24, 2013. She was on various women’s organizations in church and was a member of SodakStamm and German-Russian Heritage Society.

She died at her home in Tripp Tuesday, June 13, at the age of 90.

She is survived by three sons, Donavan (Nya) Goehring, Delmont, Michael (Bobbie) Goehring, Delmont, and Owen (Reita) Goehring, Tripp; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Meta Herr, Tripp, Shirley Goehring, Parkston, and Ruth Herr-Gyory, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lotar, parents, eight brothers and a sister.

Anna M. Streeter
Sep 23 1928 - Jul 02 2010

Anna M. Streeter 81 of Nisland passed away Friday, July 2, 2010 at her home.

As per her wishes cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.

Survivors include her children Randy Thul of Belle Fourche, Janice Shepard of Nisland, Nancy Carlisle of Manvel, TX, and Deeney Klein of Grand Haven, MI, sister Arlene Hendrickson of Mapleton, IA, 13 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sons, grandson, parents, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Black Hills Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Sturgis has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Robert Victor, 85

Robert (Bob) Victor, 85, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Mitchell and Pierre, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Prince of Peace in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 30, at First Lutheran Church, in Mitchell, with burial to follow at Serviceman’s Memorial cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Will Funeral Chapel with prayer service beginning at 7 p.m.

Robert Duane Victor was born Aug. 31, 1923, at Mitchell, to Emil and Emma (Sebbe) Victor. He graduated from Mitchell High School and attended the University of Minnesota until enlisting in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946. Upon discharge from the service he completed his degree in engineering at South Dakota State University.

Robert married Elda L. Victor, May 21, 1950, in Oldham. They made their first home in Mitchell for 11 years where Robert worked for his father’s trucking company (Haley’s) and later for the South Dakota Department of Transportation. Robert was transferred to the Finals Division of the SDDOT in Pierre, where they resided until 2003, when they moved to Sioux Falls to be closer to their children. Robert was an active member of Lutheran Memorial Church in Pierre, where he could flip lefse better than anyone. He enjoyed tinkering and there was nothing he could not fix. You could not walk past him without him saying hello. He always had a smile on his face and loved to share a laugh.

Grateful for having shared his life was his wife, Elda; his children, Rich (Mary) Victor, of Black Hawk, Cheryl (Tom) Gaeckle, of Sioux Falls, Dave (Angie) Victor, of Mitchell; and his grandchildren, Josh and Vanessa Victor; Nate, Luke, Molly and Sam Gaeckle; and Brett Victor.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his brother, Art Victor.

Carmilla Josephine (Kisely) Juhnke, 88
September 22, 1928 - June 13, 2017

Funeral services for Carmilla Juhnke were held June 17 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls. Arrangements were by Heritage Funeral Home, Sioux Falls.

Carmilla Josephine Kisely, daughter of Anton and Josephine (Varilek) Kisely, was born September 22, 1928, on the family farm north of Lake Andes. She grew up in Lake Andes and graduated from Lake Andes High School in 1946. She later attended Mitchell Business College for one year and graduated in July 1947. She worked at Educator Supply Company from 1947 until 1950.

She was united in marriage with Clifford Juhnke June 18, 1950, in Parkston. The couple resided in Parkston where they owned and operated the St. Charles Hotel and Café for 22 years. In 1972, the couple moved to Sioux Falls and purchased The Normandy Restaurant. They sold the restaurant in 1977. In May of 1977, she started working at Central Plains Clinic in the Medical Records Department and retired in 1994.

She was a member of the American Legion, Red Hats and Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

She died at the Dougherty Hospice House Tuesday, June 13, at the age of 88.

Survivors include her children, Laurie (Mike) Swanson, Tammy Giblin and Cyndy Juhnke; grandson, Jonathan Giblin; step-grandchildren, Kimberly Winger and family, Julie (David) Erickson and family; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Emil and Jerry Kisely; four sisters, Georgine Anderson, Sylvia Kisely, Caroline Toman, Antonia (Tony) Dvorak; and grandson Jeremy Giblin.

Gregory J Fuller
Dec 28 1931 - Apr 21 2010

Gregory J. Fuller, 78, Rapid City, passed away at the Ft. Meade VA Medical Clinic on Wednesday, April 21, 2010.

He is survived by his daughter Cherylann Bergner, Monticello, FL, and his brother Ron Fuller, Mesa, AZ, and numerous neices, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at Black Hills National cemetery on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 1:00pm with Fr. Bill Zandri celebrating. Sturgis Honor Guard will present full military honors.

Marcia Ann (Bowar) Mettler, 70
October 1, 1946 - May 8, 2017

Funeral services for Marcia Mettler were held May 13 at the Peace Christian Reformed Church in Menno, with the Rev. Steve Moerman officiating.

Burial was in the Menno cemetery with Aisenbrey-Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel, Menno, assisting with the arrangements. Honorary casketbearers were Brooklyn Mettler and Jaxen Mettler. Casketbearers were Terry Auch, Clifford Roemmick, Travis Bowar, Doug Schafer, Earl Mettler and Brian Wenisch.

Marcia Ann (Bowar) Mettler was born October 1, 1946, to Norbert and Angeline (Weber) Bowar at Parkston. She graduated from Parkston High School and then Nettleton College in Sioux Falls. After graduating from school and working at Mitchell National Bank, she was united in marriage to Ron Mettler February 22, 1968, at Parkston. They moved to Menno and eventually to the family farm north of Menno. She worked at rural medical clinics for 24 years before retiring.

She died Monday, May 8, at the Freeman Regional Health Services in Freeman. She attained the age of 70 years.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; her sons, Kevin Mettler, Sioux Falls, and Brian (Teresa) Mettler, Menno; grandchildren, Brooklyn and Jaxen Mettler, Menno; brother, Dennis (Dorothy) Bowar, Parkston; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her infant son, Brett Mettler.

David B Rude
May 11 1941 - Oct 10 2010

David B. Rude 69, of Hot Springs, SD passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010 at his home.

As per his wishes cremation has taken place, and a family memorial service will be held at a later date.

He was born in Eau Claire, WI to Rolland and Gladys Rude. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the Philippines. In February 1963 he married Barbara Preston and they lived in St. Paul and Duluth, MN, until retiring to the Black Hills of South Dakota. He carried mail for the US Postal Service for 30 years. Dave enjoyed hunting, and trap shooting, but most of all, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. In their adventures together, Dave and Barb rode in all 50 states plus Mexico and Canada. He was a chapter director of the Duluth H.O.G. Club for 10 years.

Survivors include his wife Barbara of Hot Springs, son Randall and wife Tanya Rude of St. Paul, MN, daughter Karen and husband Doug MacKay of Carson City, NV, and 3 grandsons.

His parents preceded him in death.

Dorothy D. Neth, 84
November 19, 1932 - May 7, 2017

Funeral services for Dorothy D. Neth were held May 11 at Salem Reformed Church in Menno, with the Rev. Michael Hecht officiating.

Burial was in the Rosehill cemetery, Scotland, with Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton, in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Neth was born November 19, 1932, at the family farm near Olivet to John and Pauline (Tiede) Mogck. She was baptized and confirmed at the Salem UCC Church of Parkston.

She attended country school and graduated from Parkston High School.

On February 11, 1951, she married Elmer Neth. The couple farmed near Scotland for over 40 years until her retirement. Most recently, she resided in Yankton at the Avera Sacred Heart Assisted Living.

She assisted with Women’s Fellowship, teaching Sunday school and singing with the church choir.

She died Sunday, May 7, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. She attained the age of 84 years.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer, Yankton; children, Michael (Sandra) Neth, Yankton, and Roger (Robin) Neth, Scotland; daughter-in-law, Sharon Neth, Scotland; eight grandchildren, Katina Rueb, Kevin Neth, Craig Neth, Rebecca Rippe, Justin Neth, Kristin Tigges, Cassandra Arens, and Kellyn Neth; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steven; parents; brothers, Gilbert, John and Roland; and sister, Bernice Radel.

Irene (Kaul) Hamberger, 85
January 26, 1932 - May 8, 2017

Funeral services for Irene Hamberger were held May 12 at the United Church of Christ in Scotland.

Burial was in the Friedens Reformed cemetery in Tripp, with Goglin Funeral Home of Scotland in charge of arrangements.

Irene was born to Julius and Ida (Weisser) Kaul January 26, 1932. She grew up in rural Scotland and was married to Maynard Hamberger on March 1, 1949. They farmed near Lesterville.

She died May 8 Avera St. Benedict Hospital, Parkston. She attained the age of 85 years.

She is survived by Allen (Linda) Hamberger, Sioux Falls, Les Hamberger, Menno, Eugene Hamberger, Yankton, Agnes (Dave) Sawyer, Springfield, Missouri, Amy Schultz, Scotland, Brian (Pam) Hamberger, Yankton, Ann (Bill) Hochstein, Hartington, Neb.; seven grandchildren, Jacob (Kelsey) Miller, Springfield, Missour, Gena Miller, Dallas, Texas, Trevor (Alesha) Schultz, Sioux Falls, Wesley Hochstein, Hartington, Nebraska, Kyla Hochstein, Coleridge, Nebraska, Brynlyn and Emma Hamberger, Yankton; and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Edwin (Lorraine) Kaul, Lennox, Herbert Kaul, Astoria, Oregon, Robert (Janet) Kaul, Seaside, Oregon, and Cliff Kaul, Portland, Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Erwin Kaul.

Sharon K. Bucholz, 67

Funeral services for Sharon K. Bucholz, 67, of Fort Thompson, will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at the Christ Episcopal Church in Fort Thompson, with burial in the St. John’s Episcopal cemetery at Crow Creek. Wake services will be at 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 16, with visitation beginning at 12 p.m. at the Fort Thompson Community Center at Fort Thompson.

Sharon K. Clark was born Aug. 18, 1941, at Fort Thompson. She attended school at Gann Valley. Sharon made Fort Thompson her home most of her life. On Sept. 5, 1974, Sharon was united in marriage to Harry Bucholz at Sioux Falls.

Sharon passed away on Jan. 13, 2009, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls at the age of 67.

Gratefully sharing in her life are her husband, Harry Bucholz, of Fort Thompson; a son, Harry Bucholz III, of Sioux Falls; two daughters: Patricia Thompson, of Valdosta, Ga., and Jacqueline Smith, of Omaha, Neb.; and seven grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Joshua; a sister, Ethel; and several other siblings.

Phyllis Ann Colbert
Aug 14 1938 - Mar 01 2009

Phyllis Colbert, 70, passed away at her home in Black Hawk on March 1st, 2009. She was a loving mom and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

As per her wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Phyllis was born in Dixon, Illinois. She and her husband moved to Southern California and eventually up to the Black Hills in 1980. Phyllis was the proud owner of a casino and motel on historic Main Street Deadwood and later started a salon in Sturgis. Phyllis finished out her career as a licensed cosmetologist and retired to her home in Summerset where she was close to her daughters.

Phyllis is survived by former husband and loving friend Lee Colbert; daughters Kris Reiling and Jeri Cross, Black Hawk, Lisa Modrick, Rapid City, Julie Naumann, Spearfish, and Lana Sternhagen of Lead, grandchildren Kyle Cross, Zachary Reiling, Cody Reiling, Amanda Sternhagen, Nicolle Burr, Natasha Naumann, Allen Sternhagen, and Aaron Sternhagen.

She was preceded in death by her son Jay Pritchard parents Harold & Mable (McCardle) Mills.

Black Hills Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Sturgis has been entrusted with the arrangements.
