Florence L. Danburg

RAPID CITY - Florence L. Danburg, 98, Rapid City, died Wednesday, January 9, 2002, at Westhills Village Health Care.

Florence married Elmer Danburg at St. Laurence, S.D., October 1921. They raised four daughters, Lorraine Schweppe of Eugene, Ore., Maxine Heffron of Rapid City, S.D., Marlene Gilbert of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Genevieve Rutherford, who preceded Florence in death. She has nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Florence and Elmer lived in Miller until 1942. They moved to Rapid City so Elmer could work in the war effort at the Rapid City Air Base, now Ellsworth Air Force Base.

Florence was active in the community doing volunteer work, charter member of Senior Citizens of Canyon Lake and AARP. She was a 73-year member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge, Rapid City, Garden Club, American Legion Auxiliary, and Extension clubs of Hand County and Pennington County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, parents, four sisters and four brothers.

Visitation will be Friday, January 11, 2002, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Behrens Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 11, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Behrens Funeral Home Chapel, with Steve Rhodes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made to the Black Hills Children's Home of Rockerville, S.D.

Edward William 'Bud' Anderson

OELRICHS - Edward William "Bud" Anderson, 76, Oelrichs, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Fort Meade VA Medical Center in Sturgis.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Anderson, Oelrichs; one son, Edward Anderson; one stepson, Howard Lawson, Johnson City, Texas; four stepdaughters, Harriet Winslow, Columbus, Neb., Hazel Thompson, Rapid City, Hedy Pennel, Hot Springs, and Heidi Miller, Yoder, Wyo.; one sister, Karen Smith, York, Neb.; 16 stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel in Hot Springs.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Oelrichs United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Anderson officiating.

Burial will follow at Hillside cemetery in Oelrichs.

Alice Jane Stainbrook Potter

SPEARFISH - Alice Jane Stainbrook Potter, 83, Spearfish, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Dorsett Home in Spearfish.

Survivors include one son, Arlo Potter, Whitewood; three daughters, LaVonne LaLonde, Spearfish, Colleen Bennett, Sturgis, and Violet Potter, Rapid City; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Francis Earl Potter, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Sturgis Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, with Glen Alt officiating.

Private family committal services will be at Whitewood cemetery.

Goldie Beatrice Jurisch

SCENIC - Goldie Beatrice Jurisch, 94, of Scenic, died Wednesday, January 9, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Home in New Underwood.

She was born on July 29, 1907, to Harry D. and Maude E. Crosmer at their homestead on Kube Table north of Scenic, S.D. She was the oldest of three daughters. In 1920, the family moved to Interior, where her parents owned the Hotel and Restaurant. In her youth, she played in a family band and later was organist at the Scenic Congregational Church. She also taught Sunday school, and was substitute teacher on Kube Table. Goldie married Clarence M. Jurisch in 1926 at Kadoka, S.D. They resided on her parents' homestead until 1955, raising three sons, Ernst D., Lewis L. and Marlow E. Jurisch. At that time, she moved to Scenic and was acting postmaster and received her commission as postmaster in 1961. She retired from her postmaster duties in 1977 at the age of 70. With the passing of her beloved husband in 1981, she had resided in Rapid City until 1989. She has since resided at the Good Samaritan Home in New Underwood.

Survivors include two sons, Lewis L. Jurisch, Springfield, Mo., and Marlow E. Jurisch, Rapid City; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry D. and Maude E. Crosmer; sisters EllaMae Fuller and Fern Johnson; son Ernst D. Jurisch; husband Clarence M. Jurisch; and great-grandsons Casey Jurisch, Joseph Daniel Searles and Gregory Jurisch.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, at the funeral home, with Rev. Charlie Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in the Scenic cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the Scenic cemetery Fund.

Armine White Mountain

MCLAUGHLIN - Armine White Mountain, 63, McLaughlin, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Anthony White Mountain Sr., McLaughlin; seven sons, Anthony White Mountain Jr. and Lonnie White Mountain, both of Chadron, Neb., Micheal White Mountain, Rapid City, Steve White Mountain, Sioux Falls, Kevin White Mountain, Laverne, Minn., Ronnie White Mountain, Bismarck, N.D., and LeRoy White Mountain, Olympia, Wash.; two daughters, Theresa White Mountain, Laverne, and Debbie White Mountain, Chadron; 24 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers, Eugene War Bonnet, Rapid City, Mathew War Bonnet, Everett, Wash., Art War Bonnet, Flandreau, and James War Bonnet and Joe War Bonnet, both of Mission; and five sisters, Beverly Prue and Amelia Shaw, both of Rapid City, and Judy Niesse, Janet Sierra and Venus Sierra, all of Mission.

A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge.

A one-night wake will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at St. Thomas Catholic Church Hall in Mission.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the church, with the Rev. Ed Witt officiating.

Burial will be at Catholic cemetery in Mission.

LaVera 'Vera' Jones

BELLE FOURCHE - LaVera "Vera" Jones, 89, Belle Fourche, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Belle Fourche Long Term Care Center.

Survivors include seven children, Donna Corbridge and Peg Willey, both of Aberdeen, Idaho, Patricia Coburn, Tularosa, N.M., Sharon Kudlock, Spearfish, and JoAnn Jones, Loris Forbes and Wayne Jones, all of Helena, Mont.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Charles Anderson and Jon Anderson, both of Tucson, Ariz., Donald Anderson, Fayetteville, Ark., and Eric Anderson, Oregon, Ind.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 12, at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, and for one hour before services Saturday at Belle Fourche United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Steve Olson officiating.

Burial will be at Pine Slope cemetery in Belle Fourche.

A memorial has been established to Belle Fourche Long Term Care Center.

Lorraine M. Shaw

ALLEN - Lorraine M. Shaw, 62, Allen, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, in Wanblee.

Survivors include her husband, Clayton Shaw Sr., Denver; three sons, Alvin Milk, Hisle, Melvin Milk Jr., Fairbanks, Alaska, and Louis Shaw, Wanblee; four daughters, Caroline Richards, Allen, and Winnie Randall, Zoey Shaw and Candra Shaw, all of Denver; 21 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A two-night wake will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Wanblee CAP office. The second night begins at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at Inestimable Gift Episcopal Church in Allen.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the church, with the Rev. Daniel Makes Good officiating.

Burial will be at Inestimable Gift Episcopal cemetery in Allen.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Maxine J. Brown

RAPID CITY - Maxine J. Brown, 82, Rapid City, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at her home.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Childress, LaVerne, Calif., and Gwen Ray and Billie Keough, both of Rapid City; one son, James Brown, Westerville, Ohio; one stepson, Larry Brown, Faith; one stepdaughter, Carol Hendrickson, Hermosa; one brother, Maurice Keill, LaMesa, Calif.; one sister, Roberta Watson, Bellevue, Neb.; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Kirk Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Angela Anderson Bice

AURORA, Colo. - Angela Anderson Bice, 31, Aurora, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, in Aurora.

Survivors include her parents, Pete and Jane Anderson of Rapid City; one sister, Kim Gillett, Bellevue, Neb.; and three brothers, Justin Anderson, Grand Lake, Colo., Mark Anderson, Cincinnati, and Brian Anderson, Burlington, Vt.

Arrangements are pending with Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Warren Pellegrin

SENECA, S.C. - Warren Pellegrin, 75, formerly of Meade County, S.D., died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, in Seneca.

Survivors include his wife, Francine Pellegrin; one son, Warren Pellegrin Jr.; two daughters, Danielle and Michelle; three stepchildren, Steven Likes, Christopher Likes and Sylvia Aldrich; and numerous grandchildren.

Larry Dean Sandy

STURGIS - Larry Dean Sandy, 51, Sturgis, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include one son, Shawn Sandy, Newcastle, Wyo.; his father, George Sandy, Sturgis; five brothers, Dick Sandy, Gillette, Wyo., Tom O'Dell, Mackay, Idaho, Gary O'Dell, Phoenix, Rusty Sandy, Sturgis, and Terry Sandy, Winnamucka, Nev.; two sisters, Dolly Emery, Mesa, Ariz., and Sandi Rowan, Sturgis; and one grandchild.

His body was cremated, and private family services will be held at a later date.

Kinkade Funeral Chapel of Sturgis is in charge of arrangements.

T. Dorinne Gaver

BELLE FOURCHE - T. Dorinne Gaver, 87, Belle Fourche, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, in Belle Fourche.

Survivors include one son, Charles Whiton, Paradise Valley, N.M.; one brother, Ralph Shaykett, Belle Fourche; and two sisters, Margaret Truman, Rapid City, and Barbara Kiewel, Belle Plaine, N.M.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, and from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, and for one hour before services Tuesday at St. James Episcopal Church in Belle Fourche.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. James Marrs officiating.

Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Pine Slope cemetery in Belle Fourche.

Norman LeRoy 'Tony' Stuen

SPEARFISH - Norman LeRoy "Tony" Stuen, 78, Spearfish, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at Fort Meade Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Sturgis.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Stuen, Spearfish; two sons, Wayne Stuen, Spearfish, and Norman Stuen, Deadwood; two daughters, Ardell Gienger, Littleton, Colo., and Judy Myers, Belle Fourche; four brothers, Chester Stuen, Sturgis, Donald Stuen, Yankton, Glenn Stuen, Forrest Lake, Minn., and Larry Stuen, Simi Valley, Calif.; four sisters, Annabelle Schindel, Yankton, Ruth White, Joplin, Mo., Eunice Bride, Arcadia, Calif., and Alice Christenson, Mesa, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home in Sturgis.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Fort Meade Historic Post Chapel, with Chaplain Paul Lupkes officiating.

Burial, with military honors by Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard, will follow at Black Hills National cemetery near Sturgis.
