Morris Beecher Myers II

KEY LARGO, Fla. — Morris Beecher Myers II, 71, died of cancer at the home of his daughter, Marcy, in Key Largo, Florida, on August 27, 2001, his wife's birthday, surrounded by his family. The experience assured us that there is life after life.

Born November 13, 1929, in Norfolk, Nebraska, to Eugene and Emily Myers, he married Peggy Gorder on July 22, 1955 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He served in WWII and was a Law School graduate of the University of South Dakota — Vermillion. He also was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

He is predeceased by his wife, Peggy, and his parents, Emily and Eugene. Leaving those of us behind, his five children, Mauri Myers, Kimberly Hope (Leslie John), Marcy Myers-Frohardt (Keith), Heather Burckhard and Grant Myers. Also, his grandchildren, Kadie Myers, Jason, Emily and Noelle Hope, Peggy and Alex Burckhard, and Joshua and Christopher Myers. His brother, Bob. His nieces, Nancy Grabow (and family) and Jani Myers.

We will celebrate his life on his birthday, November 13, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 1070 Foothill Dr., SLC, Utah. The family suggests donations be made to Hospice of the Florida Keys, 92001 Overseas Highway, Tavernier, FL 33070 or the Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 511, Key Largo, FL 33037.

What a joy you were to us, Dad. We will walk together again, but for now, go walk the Heavens!

Charles Aldrich Kosola

COKATO, Minn. — Charles Aldrich Kosola, 89, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Howard Lake.

Survivors include seven sisters, Ina Barber and Ellen Harris, both of Cokato, Ruth Nash, Culver City, Calif., Edna McDade, Bishop, Calif., Florence Arnold, Spearfish, S.D., Esther Wilson, Sun City, Ariz., and Irene Winger, Rapid City; three brothers, Howard of

Kiiminki, Finland, Robert of Newell, S.D., and Don of Menahga.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Hope cemetery in Newell, with the Rev. Jack Hill officiating.

Kinkade Funeral Chapel, Sturgis, S.D., is in charge of arrangements.

Michael D. Stofferahn

CHAMBERLAIN — Michael D. Stofferahn, 34, Chamberlain, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, in an automobile accident.

Survivors include his wife, Kelli Stofferahn, Chamberlain; one daughter, Paige, Chamberlain; his parents, Ken and

Diane Stofferahn, Pierre; two brothers, Stuart Stofferahn, Lincoln, Neb., and Steven Stofferahn, Lafayette, Ind.; one sister, Stacey Uthe, Kansas City, Mo.; and his grandmother, Arlene Henderson, Colfax, Wis.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, at Wevik Funeral Home in Chamberlain. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at United Church of Christ in Chamberlain. Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Lutheran Memorial Church in Pierre.

Dolores Winona Hagel McDermand

RAPID CITY — Dolores Winona Hagel McDermand, 85, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at Westhills Village Health Care Facility.

Dolores Winona Hagel was born Nov. 18, 1915, to Charles Edward and Charlotte Elizabeth Hagel. She attended school at St. Mary's Boarding School in Rushville, Neb., graduating from high school in 1932. She entered the Kahler School of Nursing (Mayo Clinic Hospitals) in 1937, receiving her R.N. in September 1940.

She returned to South Dakota and worked as a nurse at the Pine Ridge Indian Hospital from 1940 to 1942. She always said that those were two of the most enjoyable years of her career.

She attended Charity Hospital's School of Anesthesia and became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in 1942. She practiced anesthesia in Alabama and Kentucky. While in Kentucky, she gave anesthesia for Dr. Fred W. Rankin, world-renowned colon surgeon. She was married to Dr. J. Edward Klinker in Lexington, Ky., in 1950. She enjoyed her years at the Shriner's Children's Burn Hospital in Lexington, where she worked with Dr. Howard E. Dorton. She returned to South Dakota in 1954, where she administered anesthesia at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Hot Springs until her retirement in 1977.

In 1968, she married Dale Burton McDermand of Custer, S.D. She resided at the McDermand Ranch on French Creek Road until she moved to her home in Keystone in 1980.

Dolores served on the Pennington County Board of Health and devoted many hours of service to the Republican National Committees. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Parish of Keystone.

Dolores was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Hagel, father Edward Hagel, brother Howard Hagel, and husbands Dr. Edward Klinker and Dale McDermand.

She is survived by her brother, Francis Hagel; nieces, Kathy Hagel, Audrey Esposito, Charlotte Keane, Mary Helwegan, and Sharon Pleus; nephews, Steven Hagel and David Hagel; and many other great-nieces and great-nephews along with many other loving friends and family members.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at Behrens Mortuary Chapel, with a 7 p.m. Rosary service. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with Father Michael Malloy as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Custer Community cemetery in Custer.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorials to be sent to Hospice of the Black Hills or to Keystone Volunteer Fire Department in care of David Hagel, P.O. Box 460, Keystone, SD 57751.

Major W. Brings Plenty

EAGLE BUTTE - Major W. Brings Plenty, 68, of LaPlant, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, in Minneapolis.

Wake services will be held at 6 p.m. today, Sunday, Sept. 30, at H.V. Johnston Cultural Center in Eagle Butte.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at H.V. Johnston Cultural Center, with the Rev. Jeffery Barnes and the Rev. Richard Charging Eagle officiating.

Burial will be at St Paul's Episcopal cemetery under the direction of Luce Funeral Home of Eagle Butte.

Ronald Lee Harrington

RAPID CITY - Ronald Lee Harrington, 54, Rapid City, left to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at his home.

He was born Feb. 23, 1947, at Britton, S.D., to Earl and Bertha (Kelly) Harrington. He was raised in Oakes, N.D.

Mr. Harrington came to Rapid City in 1965, and had worked for Rapid City Hide and Metal and Rapid City Sanitation. His passion for recycling metal never wavered. He had a feisty spirit and was a man who never shirked a task.

He leaves to mourn his passing Elaine Harrington, a loving friend; his daughter, Rhonda Thibodeau, and her husband, Greg, of Rapid City; one son, Scott Harrington, and his wife, Stephanie, of Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash.; three sisters, Janet Thompson and her husband, Clyde, of Rapid City, Donna Montgomery and her husband, Wayne, of Prattville, Ala., and Inez Harrington of Kent, Wash.; two brothers, Leslie Harrington of Rapid City, and Fay Harrington and his wife, Carol, of Wilmington, Del.; six grandchildren; four nieces; seven nephews; five great-nieces; and two great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother-in-law and one great-niece.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Behrens Funeral Home, and one hour before services at the church on Monday.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Rapid City, with the Rev. William Paepke officiating.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Oakes cemetery in Oakes, N.D.

Frank S. Starr

HERMOSA - Frank S. Starr, 68, Hermosa, S.D., resident, died at the Rapid City Regional Hospital on Monday, Nov. 19, 2001.

Frank S. Starr was born Feb. 17, 1933, in Ohio, to Dollie and Noah Starr, the youngest of eight children. The family moved to West Virginia soon after Frank was born.

Frank joined the Air Force and married Joan Weigand in 1953 while stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base. Frank served in the Korean War and was stationed in several countries, including France and Germany. Frank and Joan always returned to Ellsworth whenever they could between tours of duty. Frank and Joan had four children, Deborah, Daniel, Dianne and Deirdre.

Frank and Joan retired from the Air Force in 1971 and settled in New Underwood. Frank then worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring from that in 1992. Joan passed away in February of 1999 from complications of a second liver transplant.

Frank married Donna Hesnard in November of 1999. They had two years of enjoying their families and wintering in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where they enjoyed being near Frank's sister and husband, Lois and Duffy Pruitt, and brother and wife, Lloyd and Yvonne Starr. Frank enjoyed the beach, hunting shells and watching South Carolina sunsets.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers, and his first wife, Joan.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Starr of Hermosa, S.D., and four children and spouses, Deborah and Sid Harmon of Meridian, Idaho, and their children, Ted and Nicole, Daniel and Carla Starr of Box Elder and their children, Greg and Danielle, Diane and Bernie Long of Pukwana, S.D., and their daughters, Chris-tina, Jennifer and Kelcey, and Deirdre Gortmaker and her son, Thomas, of Gladewater, Texas. Frank is also survived by a sister, Lois Pruitt of Florence, South Carolina; a brother, Lloyd Starr of Florence, South Carolina; six stepchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His family and friends celebrate his life.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home, with Rev. Herbert Cleveland officiating. Private family interment will be at the Black Hills National cemetery, with the Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard providing military honors.

A memorial has been established.

Alice M. Steuer

PRAIRIE CITY - Alice M. Steuer, 94, Prairie City, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at Hillcrest Care Center in Hettinger, N.D.

Survivors include one sister, Florence Papka, Spearfish, and four brothers, Ray, Spearfish, Murel, Sturgis, Ellis, Prairie City, and Floyd, Hot Springs.

Her husband, Sam, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger, and for one hour before services Friday, Nov. 23, at Beckman Memorial Church in Prairie City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Brad Burkhalter officiating.

Burial will follow at Prairie City cemetery.

Dennis Wasserburger

LUSK, Wyo. - Dennis Wasserburger, 37, Lusk, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, in Ogallala, Neb., as the result of a truck accident.

Survivors include his daughter, Dyllynn Wasserburger, Lusk, and two brothers, Ken Wasserburger, Gillette, Wyo., and Ben Wasserburger, Bismarck, N.D.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lusk, with the Rev. Pat Shea officiating.

Private burial will be at Lusk cemetery.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home of Lusk is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established for Dyllynn at Security Bank, P.O. Box 216, Harrison, NE 69346.

William A. Lally

HOT SPRINGS - William A. Lally, 64, Hot Springs, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at his home.

Survivors include five sons, Robert Lally and Noel Lally, both of Mesa, Ariz., Michael Lally, Virginia Beach, Va., Kelly Lally, Austin, Texas, and Cameron Lally, Greeley, Colo.; one daughter, Brandi

Livingston, Broadwater, Neb.; and 11 grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960.

Services will be at a later date.

Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel of Hot Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret C. Simek

KADOKA - Margaret C. Simek, 90, Kadoka, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at Kadoka Care Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Josephine Letellier, Norris; four grandsons; one sister, Helen Steiner, Parkston; seven great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandson.

Her husband, Harry Simek, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, with a 7 p.m. Christian wake and rosary service, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka, and before services Saturday, Nov. 24, at the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Bob Baden, the Rev. Neil Wilkinson and the Rev. Gene Heckathorne officiating.

Burial will be at Kadoka cemetery.

Rush Funeral Home of Kadoka is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established for Kadoka Care Center.
