Erwin 'Bud' Weisgram

RAPID CITY - Erwin "Bud" Weisgram, 78, Rapid City, died at the Rapid City Regional Hospital Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001.

He was born April 13, 1923, at Lowry, S.D., the son of John and Thekla (Steiner) Weisgram. He grew up at Hoven, S.D., and graduated from high school at Hoven. He served in the U.S. Army from March of 1943 until January of 1946.

Bud married Lucille Knecht on August 2, 1951, at Omaha, Neb. He was involved in construction work as an Ironworker, and the family resided in numerous areas of the country prior to settling in Rapid City in 1961. He was a member of Iron Workers Local 454. He was also a Life Member of Rushmore VFW Post 1273.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Weisgram, Rapid City; two sons, Terry Weisgram and his wife Shelly, Rapid City, and Jim Weisgram and his wife Kellie, Rapid City; two daughters, Sandy Heintz and her husband Doug, Rapid City, and Judy Wells and her husband Ted, Green River, Wyoming; a brother, Art Weisgram, Hopkins, Minn.; a sister, Adele Gilbert, Sun City, Ariz.; and six grandchildren, Sam Weisgram, Shane Weisgram, Kelsey Weisgram and Haylee Weisgram, all of Rapid City, and Abbie Wells and Christopher Wells, Green River, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a grandson.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday, with a Christian wake service at 6 p.m., at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of St. Therese the Little Flower, with Rev. Brian Lane officiating.

Interment, with military honors provided by Rushmore VFW Post 1273, will be at the Black Hills National cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

Anna May Officer

STURGIS - Anna May Officer, 99, Sturgis, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at Sturgis Long Term Care Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Lorraine Quarnberg, Fort Collins, Colo.; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Vernon Officer, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel and for one hour before services Friday, Dec. 14, at United Methodist Church in Sturgis.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Frank McKeehan officiating.

Burial will follow at Black Hills National cemetery near Sturgis.

Kinkade Funeral Chapel of Sturgis is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established for the United Methodist Church building fund.

Marvin Walter Waldner

RAPID CITY - Marvin Walter Waldner, 69, Rapid City, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Lavonne Waldner, Rapid City; three sons, Jerry Waldner, Mesa, Ariz., Gregg Waldner, Wamsutter, Wyo., and Michael Waldner, Madison; one daughter, Joanne Ling, Harrisburg; one sister, Delma Beckman, Sioux Falls; and one brother, Verne Waldner, Wamsutter.

Arrangements are pending with Kirk Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Dale Hovland

RAPID CITY — Dale Hovland, 59, Rapid City, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Mitchell Hovland, Laramie, Wyo., and Michael Hovland, Dallas; and one brother, Ian Hovland, Central City.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Mountain View cemetery in Rapid City. Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery.

Behrens Mortuary of Rapid City is in charge of arrangements.

Cecile V. Hudson

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. - Cecile V. Hudson, 87, Downers Grove, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at a local hospital.

She was the loving mother of Cecile (the late Alex) Grant, William Thomas Jr. and wife, Joyce, Robert K. and wife, Cindy, J. Arthur and wife, Chris, Michael F. and wife, Cindy, and James V. and wife, Rosa Hudson, D.D.S.; sister of John Vincent, M.D.; grandmother of 19; and great-grandmother of five.

She was preceded in death by husband William T. Hudson.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to time of service Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rapid City. A rosary will be said before the service.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Burial will be at Mount Calvary cemetery in Rapid City.

Behrens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Florence Ellen Hemenway

STURGIS — Florence Ellen Hemenway, 66, Sturgis and formerly of Rapid City, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, in Deadwood.

Survivors include her husband, Stuart Hemenway, Sturgis; three sons, Darrell Hemenway, Colfax, Calif., and Doug Hemenway and Dennis Hemenway, both of Sturgis; four daughters, Marla Johnson, Denver, Cindy Shore, Sturgis, Rhonda Beck, Aurora, Colo., and Roxane Eilert, Spokane, Wash.; three sisters, Bea Johnson, Hill City, and Mary Birdwell and Betty Sever, both of Rapid City; two brothers, Elroy Baker, Faulkton, and Raymond Baker, Hereford; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, and for one hour before services on Friday, Nov. 16, at the funeral chapel.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Harold Delbridge officiating.

Burial will follow at Bear Butte cemetery in Sturgis.

Eugene E. High Hawk Jr.

WOUNDED KNEE — Eugene E. High Hawk Jr., 10, Pine Ridge, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver.

Survivors include numerous grandparents; his parents, Eugene High Hawk Sr. and Crystal High Hawk, Wounded Knee; three sisters, Michelle High Hawk, Nicole High Hawk and Aquinnah High Hawk, all of Wounded Knee; and two brothers, Warfield High Hawk and Spencer High Hawk, both of Wounded Knee.

A three-night wake will begin at 2 p.m. today. The first two nights will be at Messiah Episcopal Church in Wounded Knee. The third day will begin at noon Saturday, Nov. 17, and will be at the Batesland School Gym.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at the school gym. John Around Him will officiate over traditional ceremonies.

Burial will be at Messiah Episcopal cemetery in Wounded Knee.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Floyd R. Hill

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Floyd R. Hill, 49, Gillette and formerly of Hot Springs, S.D., died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette.

Graveside services, with military honors by Sturgis Honor Guard, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Black Hills National cemetery near Sturgis, S.D.

Wilson Funeral Home of Gillette is in charge of arrangements.

Walter Eric Kamenz

HURON — Walter Eric Kamenz, 94, Huron, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Huron Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean Eckmann, Cavour, and Connie Earley, Dell Rapids; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Verna Lemnah, Falls Church, Va.

Visitation will be this afternoon and evening at Welter Funeral Home in Huron, with the family present from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., and the morning of Friday, Nov. 16, at the funeral home.

Visitation will continue before services, which will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at American Lutheran Church in Huron, with the Rev. Steven Brandsrud officiating.

Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens cemetery in Huron.

Eleanor Morrison

RAPID CITY — Eleanor Morrison, "El, " 76, "27, " of Rapid City, died November 10, 2001, at her home.

She was born April 4, 1925, to John and Catherine (Navidzkas) Monius. She married Frank L. Morrison Sr. on July 5, 1947, in Reno, Nev.

Survivors include husband, Frank L. Morrison Sr., of Rapid City; son Frank L. Morrison Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Rapid City; daughter Elizabeth Morrison of Madison, Wis.; two brothers, Alex Monius of Salem, N.H., and Felix Monius of Brookline, N.H.; sister Grace Miller of Columbus, Ga.; four grandchildren, Charlotte Easterling of Madison, Wis., John Morrison of Rapid City, Mark Morrison of Pierre, and Missy Morrison of Rapid City and a student at Univ. of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2001, at Kirk Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2001, at Kirk Funeral Home, with Fr. Hatcher officiating.

Burial will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Hospice of the Black Hills.

Jack O. Shuck

HUSON, Mont. — Jack O. Shuck, 64, Huson, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Community Medical Center in Missoula.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Shuck, Huson; one son, Patrick Shuck, Graham, Wash.; two daughters, Shelly Mason, Renton, Wash., and Tammy Noland, Kennewick, Wash.; one stepson, Mark Watts, Reidsville, N.C.; one stepdaughter, Mary Hood, Missoula; one brother, Leonard Shuck, Newcastle, Wyo.; and 13 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Kings Christian Church in Lolo.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of The Cremation-Burial Society of the Rockies, Missoula.

John James Wedmore

PIERRE — John James Wedmore, 59, Pierre, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Alberta Wedmore, Pierre; one daughter, Susan McClurg, Fremont, Neb.; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; his mother, Alma Haeffner, Pierre; one sister, Lavern Phillips, Miller; and one brother, Norman Haeffner, Sioux Falls.

Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Feigum Funeral Home in Pierre.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Church of the Nazarene in Pierre.

Burial will follow at Riverside cemetery in Pierre.

Lovie Dowdell

RAPID CITY — Lovie Dowdell, 89, Rapid City, died Tuesday, November 13, 2001, at a local nursing home.

She was born on May 21, 1912, in Colorado City, Texas.

She married M.B. Dowdell in 1963.

Lovie lived in Phoenix, Ariz., until 1953, then in Rapid City until 1963, Artesian, S.D., until 1985, and then back to Rapid City.

She is survived by her family, Barb and Elra Claymore of Rapid City, S.D.; three grandchildren, Larry Claymore of Minnesota, Cathy and Bruce Elford of Minnesota, and Dan Claymore of Boise, Idaho; and five great-grandchildren, Aaron, Danielle, Jason and Tyler Elford of Minnesota and Colin Claymore of Rapid City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, M.B. "Curly" Dowdell; six brothers; and six sisters.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Behrens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
