OMAHA, Neb. — Coby Lane Wolken, 5 months, Omaha, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, in Omaha.

Survivors include his parents, Larry and Staci Wolken; two brothers, Coltin Wolken and Coy Wolken; his grandparents, Marion and Jeani Rhoades, Bill and Joyce Wolken and Jack and Barb Robinson; his great-grandparents, Mary Wackel, Parker and Barbara Strand and Alice Bobbitt; and his great-great-grandfather, Delbert Rice.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at United Church of Christ in Thedford.

Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home of Omaha is in charge of arrangements.

James E. Mann Jr.

CUSTER — James E. Mann Jr., 66, Custer and formerly of Mission, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, in Tulsa, Okla.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Mann, Custer; two sons, James E. Mann III, Rapid City, and Bill Mann, Winner; two daughters, Margie Wiley, Winner, and Monica Mann; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Norma Jean Shaw, Rapid City.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. rosary service, at Mason Funeral Home in Winner.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Winner.

Burial will be at Winner cemetery.

Paul S. Clifford Sr.

RAPID CITY — Paul S. Clifford Sr., 81, Rapid City, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at his home.

Arrangements are pending with Kirk Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Harriet M. Hudson

RAPID CITY — Harriet M. Hudson, 86, Rapid City, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Donald F. Hudson, Rapid City; and eight children.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. Christian wake service, at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the church, with the Rev. Pat McCorkell officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Calvary cemetery in Rapid City.

Osheim-Catron Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lyle Jonathan Reber

RAPID CITY — Lyle Jonathan Reber, 76, Rapid City, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, at Fort Meade Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Sturgis.

Survivors include his wife, Nola Reber, Rapid City; his mother, Dorotha Reber, Burke; one daughter, Connie Redmond, Longview, Texas; two sons, Michael Reber, Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Sam Reber, Desert Palm, Calif.; one brother, Milo Reber, Naper, Neb.; one sister, Rita McCollam, Shelbyville, Ill.; three grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Lester, Rapid City, and Suzie Schermerhorn, Anacortis, Wash.; four stepsons, Curtis Bentz and George Bentz, both of Rapid City, and Bob Bentz and Bill Bentz, both of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; 19 stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke.

Burial will be at Burke cemetery.

Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home of Sturgis is in charge of local arrangements.

Jean Clute Sorensen

BURNSVILLE, Minn. — Jean Clute Sorensen, formerly of Spearfish, S.D., died Saturday, August 18, 2001, in Burnsville, Minnesota. She was born in Earlville, Iowa, to William and Edna Byers Clute on June 15, 1916.

Jean is survived by her loving family, James Thybo Sorensen and his wife, Betty, and their son, Lance, Lander, Wyoming; daughter Sue Sorensen Tjaden, Bloomington, Minnesota, and her children and their families, Nathan Odle and his wife, DeAnne, and sons Robert of Carlin, Nevada, and Nathan Gregory and family of San Diego, California; Christine Moffett and her husband, Paul, and children Angela, Gregory and Paige, Lakeville, Minnesota, and Greg Odle and his wife, Polly, and children Bronson, Chase, Ashlee, Dillon and Katie, Spring Creek, Nevada. She is also survived by one sister, Billie Jane Hamblin of Belle Fourche, S.D., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Maureen, who died as an infant, and Pauline Brewer in 1964; and her husband, Bud Sorensen, two years ago.

As a child, Jean moved to the Lower Brule Indian Reservation with her parents and sister Pauline. She attended the country school, taught by her mother, where she and her sister were the only white children in the school. Throughout her life, she frequently recalled the wonderful times she had on the Lower Brule. When she was 12, the family moved to Nisland, and during her junior high years and again as a junior and senior in high school, Jean lived with her beloved grandmother and grandfather Byers in Blackfoot, Idaho. She graduated from high school there in 1934.

On Valentine's Day, February 14, 1935, Jean and Bud Sorensen were married in Belle Fourche. They lived for the first years of their marriage in Nisland, with the exception of 1937, which they spent in Los Angeles, where Bud attended Hemphill Diesel Institute. In 1940, Sue was born; 18 months later, they moved to the Sorensen farm one mile east of Nisland. Jim was born in 1944. In 1960, Jean and Bud bought their place at Crow Peak, where they and their friends and family spent 40 years enjoying their spectacular views of Beaver and Crow Creeks and the west side of Crow Peak.

In 1969, Jean enrolled at Black Hills State College, graduating cum laude in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education. She was a member of the Nisland and Spearfish Congregational Churches, Crow Peak Bridge Club,

Beta Sigma Phi and Chapter N PEO of Spearfish. After Bud's death in August of 1999, Jean lived in Minneapolis to be near her family.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 8, 2001, at 1 p.m. at the Little Dane Church near St. Onge, South Dakota. Memorials may be given in her memory to the Little Dane Church.

Kyle Christopher Ogaard

WOODWORTH, La. — Services for Kyle Christopher Ogaard were at 10 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2001, in the Mary Mother of Jesus Catholic Church, Woodworth, with the Rev. David Braquet officiating. Interment was in Woodworth cemetery, Woodworth, under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Kyle Christopher Ogaard, 18, of Woodworth, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001.

Kyle was born in Alexandria and was a resident of Woodworth. He recently graduated from Bolton High School, where he was a member of the baseball team. He was also a member of Mary Mother of Jesus Catholic Church in Woodworth.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elmer W. Long.

Kyle Ogaard is survived by his parents, Michael and Tina Long Ogaard of Woodworth, La.; two brothers, Dustin Ogaard of Woodworth, La., and Chad Ogaard of Woodworth, La.; his paternal grandparents, Edgar and Vallery Clayton of Woodworth, La.; his paternal grandfather, Carl Ogaard of Belle Fourche, S.D.; and his maternal grandmother, Wanda Long of Centerpoint, La.

Friends called from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2001, and from 8:30 a.m. until time of services Friday at Mary Mother of Jesus Catholic Church, Woodworth, La.

A Christian wake service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the church.

The family has requested memorials be sent to the Mary Mother of Jesus Catholic Church, P.O. Box 459, Lecompte, LA 71346.

Pallbearers were Casper Kramer, Justin Hathorn, Joe Sonnier, Patrick Couvillion, Daniel Lonsberry, Kenwick Webb Jr., Ben Cooper and Justin Stewart.

William Washington Collins

RAPID CITY — William W. Collins, 81, Rapid City, died Monday, August 20, 2001, at his home in Rapid City. He was born November 18, 1919, in Wall, S.D., to Walter J. and Caroline (Foster) Collins.

On March 23, 1938, he was united in marriage to Florris F. Ivory in Sturgis, S.D. Together they had three children. He was employed for 28 years in the Rapid City area as the Civilian Chief, Minute-Man Update Division, in the United States Air Force. William had also served in the U.S. Navy.

His parents; his wife, Florris, in 1989; five brothers; and six sisters preceded William in death.

Survivors include his children, two sons, Donald and wife Janette of Bullhead City, Arizona, Dale and wife Verna of Portland, Ore., and one daughter, Lauralee and husband Paddy Dennis Moore of Longmont, Colorado; his sister, Ada Doud of Rapid City; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Many will miss him.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 23, 2001, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Behrens Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2001, at 10 a.m. at Behrens Funeral Home Chapel, Rapid City, with Pastor Les Potts officiating.

Interment will be at the Black Hills National cemetery near Sturgis, with military honors by Post 1273.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Honor Guard, Post 1273, in care of Behrens Mortuary.

Vernon Eugene 'Kraut' Schone

WALL — Vernon Eugene Schone, better known as "Kraut" to his family and friends, was born April 23, 1925, at Wall, South Dakota, the son of Herman and Louise (Sebade) Schone.

He grew up in the Wall area and received his education in the Wall Public School.

As a young man, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in the South Pacific.

After his discharge in 1946, he returned to Wall, where he and his brother Bob operated the Miller Cafe. He then moved to Eatonville, Washington, where he worked in a sawmill. Later, he moved to Rapid City, where he worked for the Brown Swiss Milk Company for two years. He then became employed with the bridge-building crew for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, working in South Dakota, Wyoming and Nebraska before retiring in 1977.

He has since made his home in Wall, where he enjoyed woodworking and riding his scooter.

Kraut was a member of the Wall Methodist Church, the Carroll McDonald American Legion Post No. 246 for over 57 years, a member of the F.J. Willuweit VFW Post No. 9120 of Quinn, and the Brotherhood of Maintenance Ways of the Railroad.

Grateful for having shared his life are two brothers, Alvin Schone and his wife, Ruth, of Boulder, Colo., and Robert "Bob" Schone and his wife, Helen, of Quinn, S.D.; one sister, Delores Culver of Rapid City; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Kraut was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Schone and one brother in infancy; and two sisters, Mary Jane Kelly and Margaret Klingbile.

Funeral services for Vernon Eugene "Kraut" Schone will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2001, at the United Methodist Church in Wall, South Dakota, with Pastor Jim Cissell officiating.

Vernon died Monday, August 20, 2001, at the VA Medical Center, Fort Meade.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2001, at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Wall.

Interment, with military honors by the Sturgis Honor Guard, will be at 2 p.m. at the Black Hills National cemetery in Sturgis.

A memorial is established.

Doris Chamberlain

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. - Doris Chamberlain, 87, Lake Havasu City, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at her home.

Survivors include two daughters, Judith Neu, Rapid City, and Susan Sprague, Fullerton, Calif.; two brothers, George Bowser, Stoneham, Mass., and Robert Bowser, Hope Sound, Fla.; and one sister, Ruth Gross, Stoneham.

Two husbands, Dudley Sprague and Richard Chamberlain, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Chapel in Lake Havasu City, with the Rev. Richard Rounds officiating.

Charlotte Esther Antoine Greaves

MISSION - Charlotte Esther Antoine Greaves, 73, Mission, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at her home.

Survivors include two sons, LeRoy Greaves, Okreek, and Tim Greaves, St. Francis; four daughters, Mary Greaves and Mildred Hawk, both of Nome, Alaska, Linda Bush, Tulsa, Okla., and Nora Antoine, Mission; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Wake services were held Saturday, Nov. 10, at her home, and on Sunday, Nov. 11, at St. Thomas Hall in Mission.

Services were held Monday, Nov. 12, at St. Thomas Hall, with the Rev. John Spruhan and the Rev. Judy Spruhan officiating.

Burial was at Calvary Episcopal cemetery in Okreek.

Holmes Funeral Home of Valentine, Neb., was in charge of arrangements.
