Helen Ruth Myhre

RAPID CITY — Helen Ruth Myhre, 82, of Rapid City, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, at a local nursing home.

She was born August 7, 1919, in Rapid City to Donald and Irene (Tone) Crittenden. She graduated from Rapid City High School in 1938.

She married Chester Myhre on June 30, 1940, in Kaycee, Wyoming.

Helen played the piano-accordion as a pastor's helper in Wyoming.

Helen was a teacher for the Montessori School and taught Bible clubs in her home.

She loved being with people and was wonderful with children; she enjoyed camping and going on bus tours.

Survivors include her husband, Chester of Rapid City; a daughter, Dorothy Benson of Minneapolis; two sons, Don of Rapid City and David of Minneapolis; two sisters, Donna Hulburt of Springfield, Ore., and Lynn Wenninger of Golden, Colo.; one brother, Pastor Jim Crittenden of Mount. Vernon, Texas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; also her special friends Gerald and Helen Snyder and son Jim; and her special helper Brad Beach.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Marsh, and a granddaughter, SSG Shurie Myhre-Watson.

Services will be Saturday, Oct. 6, at 10 a.m. at Bethel Assembly of God, with Pastors Peter Dahlberg and James Sorum officiating.

Interment will be at Pine Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be at the Campbell, Paula & Quinn Funeral Chapel Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Flora Alice Stwalley

TOPEKA, Kan. — Flora Alice Stwalley, 88, Topeka and formerly of Rapid City, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Burghart, Topeka; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka, with family present from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Parker-Price Chapel.

Burial will be at Topeka cemetery.

Donald W. Norman

BUFFALO GAP — Donald W. Norman passed away September 29, 2001, at his home in Buffalo Gap, S.D., at the age of 72.

A memorial gathering was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2001, at the Country Kitchen in Chadron, Neb.

It was Donald's wishes to have his body donated to the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in Vermillion, S.D.

He was born July 3, 1929, to Ben and Hilda Norman in Crawford, Neb. He attended grade school on the family ranch and graduated from Crawford High School. Don worked with his family on the ranch until he was drafted into the Army in 1952.

On January 18, 1953, Don and Lillie Miller were united in marriage at Ardmore, S.D. He was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Two daughters, Teckla and Starla, were born in Missouri. They farmed in Missouri until purchasing the Jumping Eagle Inn at Whiteclay, Neb., in 1960.

In 1992, they moved to Buffalo Gap, S.D., where he resided until his death.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Lillie; daughter Teckla Eleson and son-in-law Duane of Whitney, Neb.; five grandchildren, Starla Nickel of Torrington, Wyo., Misty Eleson of Casper, Wyo., Jason Eleson of Chapel Hill, N.C., Farrah Eleson of Casper, Wyo., and Brian Eleson of Casper, Wyo.; three great-grandchildren, Brittany, Cheyenne and Sierra Nickel; special son Stuart Kojal, wife Karen and daughters Amanda, Brook, and Ashley of Rushville, Neb.; two sisters, Thelma Henry of Pine Ridge, S.D., and Evalyn Raben of Crawford, Neb.; and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Starla; his parents; and brothers Andrew, Elmer, Gilbert, Earl and Bernard.

A memorial has been established for the Crawford High School Music Department.

Donations may be sent to the Security First Bank, Box 506, Crawford, NE 69339.

Forrest David Paulson

BELLE FOURCHE — Forrest David Paulson, 26, Belle Fourche, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include his father, Harvey Paulson, Belle Fourche; his mother, Linda Paulson, Buffalo; seven siblings, Jammie Paulson, St. Paul, Minn., Clay Paulson, Brooke Paulsen, Scott Gross and Steve Gross, all of Belle Fourche, Nathan Gross, Texas, and Lori Bryan, Miles City, Mont.

Closed-casket visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, with the family present from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche, with the Rev. Hans Sacrison officiating.

Burial will follow at Bear Butte cemetery in Sturgis.

Glen A. Sherbon

SPEARFISH — Glen A. Sherbon, 77, Spearfish and formerly of Lead, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Sherbon, Spearfish; two sons, Ronald Sherbon, Houston, and Michael Sherbon, Aurora, Colo.; and one daughter, Diana Heupel, Alliance, Neb.

Arrangements are pending with Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home of Spearfish.

Frank H. Hanken

RAPID CITY - Frank H. Hanken, 98, Rapid City, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at a Rapid City nursing home.

Survivors include one son, Dennis Hanken, Rapid City; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City, with the Rev. Brian Christensen officiating.

Burial will be at Pine Lawn Memorial Park cemetery in Rapid City.

Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City is in charge of arrangements.

Milton Ray Marshall

MARTIN - Milton Ray Marshall, 14, Martin, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, in Bison.

Survivors include his maternal grandmother, Nancy Blue Legs-Milk, Martin; his parents, Eddie Marshall and Clara Marshall, both of Yellow Bear Canyon, Allen; two sisters, Edna Marshall, Yellow Bear Canyon, and Sharalda Marshall, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and two brothers, Vernall Marshall and Cecil Marshall, both of Yellow Bear Canyon.

Two-night wake begins at 1 p.m. today at the Martin CAP office.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the CAP office, with the Rev. Jeff Sisco officiating.

Burial will be at Lakota Chapel cemetery in Martin.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Nikolas White

MARTIN - Nikolas White was born and died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Pine Ridge Hospital.

Survivors include his maternal grandmother, Alvon Little White Man, Kyle; his maternal grandfather, Calvin Red Owl Sr., Gordon, Neb.; his paternal grandmother, Karlene Janis, Sharp's Corner; his paternal grandfather, Richard White Sr., Kyle; his parents, Carrie Red Owl and Richard White Jr., both of Kyle; and one sister, Ricci White, Kyle.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Kyle, with the Rev. Larry Cohen officiating.

Burial will be at St. Barnabas Episcopal cemetery.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Roy G. Archer

ANDERSON, Ind. - The Rev. Roy G. Archer, 73, Anderson, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Archer, Anderson; two sons, the Rev. Royal Archer, Aberdeen, S.D., and Drexel Archer, Manhattan, Mont.; one half sister, Rila Archer, Springfield, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday, Oct. 25, at Alexandria Church of the Nazarene in Alexandria, Ind.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Brent Poe officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow at Marion National cemetery in Marion, Ind.

Owens Funeral Home of Alexandria is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Howell

LEAD - Ruth Howell, 86, Lead, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Golden Ridge Retirement Community in Lead.

Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Marshall and Isabelle Shields, both of Casper, Wyo., and two grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Fidler Funeral Chapel of Lead.

Louis 'Bud' Hackett

PIERRE - Louis "Bud" Hackett, 69, Pierre, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Hackett, Pierre; five sons, Mike Hackett, Wuinabago, Neb., Jerry Hackett and Mike Erickson, both of Pierre, Jim Hackett, Waukesha, Wis., and Mark Hackett, Fort Pierre; one daughter, Lora Lemieux, Pierre; five sisters, Nettie Lammon and Bitsy Duncan, both of Fort Pierre, Marie Gannon, Rapid City, Rose Lee Dye, Abertson, Ga., and Orna Clark, Houston; one brother, Bill Hackett, Sturgis; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Isburg-Hofmeister Funeral Chapel in Pierre, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pierre.

Burial will be at Scotty Philip cemetery in Fort Pierre.

Paul M. Harwood

MILTON-FREEWATER, Ore. - Paul M. Harwood, 63, Milton-Freewater and formerly of Meade County, S.D., died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Alean Harwood, Milton-Freewater; one daughter, Renee Bots, Hood River; one son, Rod Harwood, Pendleton; one sister, Betty Keffeler, Sturgis, S.D.; four brothers, Marvin Harwood and Alan Harwood, both of Los Angeles, Roger Harwood, Denver, and Frank Harwood, Sturgis; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, with the Rev. Harold Delbridge and the Rev. Wes Labrier officiating.

Burial will follow at Bear Butte cemetery in Sturgis.
