Theresa Marie Doran
STURGIS - Theresa Marie Doran, 81, of Sturgis, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at her residence in Sturgis.
Theresa Doran was born on Jan. 5, 1920, to Anton and Mary Ann (Fuetsche) Meyer at Sturgis. She grew up on a farm on Lower Bear Butte Valley. She attended country school and, as a young lady, worked as cashier in a grocery store in Denver, and then returned to Sturgis where she worked at Haley Grocery, and McKay Drug Store. She later went to work for the Allisons in the cafe and then for Bob's Cafe for Bob Davis and John Welke.
She was presently working at the cafe at the time of her death.
Theresa was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Sturgis.
Survivors include three sons, Duane Edward and his wife Mary Ellen Hoover of Newbury Park, Calif., Gordon LeRoy Hoover of Spearfish, and Lt. Col. Chris Paul Doran, USAF, of Montgomery, Ala.; one sister, Agnes Cecelia Mayer of Whitewood; four grandchildren, Carrie Shepard, Doug Hoover, Patrick Doran and Stephanie Ashworth; two great-grandchildren, Brett and Tyler Shepard; and one niece, Norma Jean Mayer of Whitewood.
Her parents; two sisters, Leona Hudson and Mary McNeill; one brother, Otto E. Meyer; and one nephew, Danial McNeill, preceded her in death.
Rosary and Christian prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. today at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with Father Gary Oreshoski officiating.
A memorial has been established to the St. Aloysius cemetery.
Amy I. Busch
EDGEMONT - Amy I. Busch, 57, Edgemont, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Vincent Busch, Edgemont.
Arrangements are pending with Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel in Edgemont.
Leona F. Limeburner
RAPID CITY - Leona F. Limeburner, 69, Rapid City, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at her home.
Survivors include six daughters, Shauna Redding, Hopkinton, Mass., LeeAnn Groves, Albuquerque, N.M., Lori Limeburner, Phoenix, Susan Stull, Grand Junction, Colo., Ellen Key, Kingman, Ariz., and Beth Brockman, Rapid City; one sister, Jo-Ann Coyle, Troy, N.Y.; and 11 grandchildren.
Christian wake services will be at 7 p.m. today at Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the church, with the Rev. Tim Castor as the celebrant.
Services are under the direction of Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.
Alta M. Robeson
RAPID CITY - Alta M. Robeson, 81, Rapid City, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Mettler, Rochford, and Cathy Robeson, Rapid City; one sister, Joyce Shields, Rapid City; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.
Thomas M. Drew
RAPID CITY — Thomas M. Drew, 86, Rapid City, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Thomas M. Drew was born October 25, 1914, in Highmore, South Dakota, to Ida and Chris Drew. He attended school in Highmore and graduated from South Dakota University in Vermillion. In 1938, he moved to Okaton, where he married
Hazel Hughes and worked in the Okaton State Bank for 45 years until retirement in 1983.
After the death of his wife and upon his retirement, he moved to Rapid City, where he later married
Zeta Rathbun.
He was a 50-year member of the Masons and a member of Rapid City Masonic Lodge 25, A.F. & A.M.; Magic City Lodge 162 A.F. & A.M., Murdo, S.D.; Naja Shrine; a 50-year member of Eastern Star; Lambda Chi Alpha Ed. Fraternity; and a member of the Canyon Lake United Methodist Church in Rapid City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Kenneth; and two sisters, Beatrice Drew and Martha Lusk; and his wife Hazel.
He leaves his wife Zetha; one niece, Ann Riordon, her husband, Tim, and children Andrew, Christine and Stephani; one daughter, Pearl Ahnberg; three grandchildren, Perry Grosz, Steve Grosz and Jody Merchen; and four great-grandchildren; stepchildren Susan Rust, husband Richard, Linda Madden; five stepgrandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Stacey, Amy and Colby; and a host of friends who loved him.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 12, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home, with the family present from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Masonic and Eastern Star services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services will be Saturday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. at the Canyon Lake United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bob Ruedebusch officiating.
A memorial has been established in his memory.
Burial will be in the Pine Lawn Memorial Park cemetery.
Evelyn Person
HARTFORD — Evelyn Person, 79, of Hartford died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at a Sioux Falls hospice.
She is survived by four sons, including Richard Person and his wife, Phyllis, of Rapid City; 10 grandchildren, including Patrick Person and his wife, Joy, and Amy Sorestad and her husband, Myron, all of Rapid City; and seven great-grandchildren, including Devon, Brendan and Hannah Sorestad, and Emily, Benjamin and Jacob Person, all of Rapid City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Benton Lutheran Church, Crooks. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Alan Lee
FORT MEADE — Alan Lee, 60, Fort Meade, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Fort Meade Veteran Affairs Medical Center at Sturgis.
Survivors include three daughters, Valerie Cooper, Bellevue, Ky., Donna Raimondo, Glastonbury, Conn., and Melissa Weiss, Orange, Calif.
Visitation was Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Black Hills National cemetery near Sturgis, with Chaplain Moe Greiner officiating.
The Rev. Dr. N. Gayle Fischer
BOX ELDER — The Rev. Dr. N. Gayle Fischer died at a local hospital in Rapid City, S.D., on October 8, 2001.
He was born May 20, 1923, in Washington, D.C.
The Rev. Dr. Fischer was an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). His sixty-one year ministry included pastorates in Iowa, Kansas and South Dakota. He was a pioneer in promoting mental health
facilities in South Dakota.
He is survived by his wife, Jo, and five children, Norman Fischer, Reverend David Fischer and wife Phyllis, Beth Fischer and her husband Chris Miller; Marti Wells and her husband Kent, and Reverend Bruce Fischer and his wife Cilla; twelve grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Noell L. Fischer and his wife Louise; and one sister, Carol Schmidt and her husband Dwight.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 11, 2001, from 2 p.m. until service time at First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 11, 2001, at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church, with Reverend David Fischer, Reverend Bruce Fischer and Reverend Paul Johns officiating.
The family requests memorials go to the building fund of First Christian Church, 1180 Junction Highway, Kerrville, TX 78028.

Garould Gayle American Horse
GORDON, Neb. — Garould Gayle American Horse, 45, Gordon, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, in Pine Ridge, S.D.
Survivors include two sons, Brandon American Horse and Emil American Horse, both of Gordon; his mother, Martha American Horse, Gordon; and one grandchild.
A two-night wake will begin at 2:30 p.m. today at the Martha American Horse residence in Gordon.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Gordon, with the Rev. Cordelia Red Owl officiating.
Burial will be at Messiah Episcopal cemetery in Wounded Knee, S.D.

Martha Violet Beckman
LEMMON — Martha Violet Beckman, 80, Lemmon, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon.
Survivors include one sister, Ramona Ham, Lemmon.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Prince of Peace Chapel at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harold Watrous officiating.
Burial will be at Greenhill cemetery in Lemmon.
Grace Ness
SPEARFISH — Grace Ness, 92, Spearfish, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Survivors include three sons, Harold Ness, Spearfish, Odean "Lee" Ness, Hermosa, and Jerry Ness, Orangevale, Calif.; two daughters, Edith Barden and Bonnie Varner, both of Spearfish; two sisters, Josephine Caldwell, Denver, and Gertrude Fansin, Parker; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Fidler Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spearfish, with the Rev. Kent Stillson officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery in Spearfish.
Dorothy Garner
RAPID CITY — Dorothy Garner, 81, Rapid City, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at a local nursing home.
Survivors include two daughters, Sonjia Andrews, Conyers, Ga., and RoxAnn Patterson, Rapid City; one sister, Ethel Rogers, Rapid City; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be for one hour before services, which will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rapid City, with the Rev. David Maertz officiating.
Burial will follow at Mountain View cemetery in Rapid City.
