Redman 'R.G.' Albaugh

WINNER - Redman "R.G." Albaugh, 87, Winner, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, at Winner Regional Nursing Home.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Janak and Jean Albaugh, both of Winner; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, at Mason Funeral Home in Winner.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Winner.

Burial will be at Winner cemetery.

Gladys A. Moross

PIEDMONT - Gladys A. Moross, 79, Piedmont, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Rick Moross, Piedmont, and Ron Moross, Sturgis; five daughters, Betty Cleveland, Tempe, Ariz., Shirley Dempsey, Wetumpka, Ala., Linda Rench and Darlene Bloom, both of Rapid City, and Pattie Moross, Piedmont; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Grace United Methodist Church in Piedmont, with the Rev. Dan Freed officiating.

Burial will be at Piedmont cemetery.

Helen Isabel Klett

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Helen Isabel Klett, 97, St. Paul, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, in St. Paul.

Survivors include four children, William Klett, James Klett, Houston, John Patrick Klett, Afton, Minn., and Kay Riter, Rapid City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. today at O'Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Ronald Berg

RAPID CITY - Ronald Berg, 64, Rapid City and formerly of Bottineau, N.D., died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, in a Sturgis hospital.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, and for an hour before services Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.

H. Wayne Myers

RAPID CITY - The Lord has taken home the soul of H. Wayne Myers, who He gave us to enjoy from Feb. 8, 1933, to October 18, 2001.

Wayne, son of Robert and May Myers, was born in Wall, S.D. He lived most of his life in South Dakota, and many of his friends and family are there.

Wayne served in the Army and fought in the Korean War. He received a Purple Heart, an Oak Leaf Cluster and the United Nations Service Award. His courage, strength and bravery were evident in his life and in his death.

According to Wayne, family is the most important thing in life. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He preferred an evening at home with family to any other activity. Wayne was enjoying his semi-retirement and had become an avid rock hound until he became ill in August. He spent many hours rock hunting in the Badlands with his son, Steve, searching for Fairburn Agates.

Shortly before his death, he talked with each of his children, reminding them to "love your family."

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Myers, and seven children, Steve Myers and wife Gena of Rapid City, Rick Myers and wife Chun-Hui of Everett, Wash., Diane Roselles and husband Gary of Rapid City, Cathy Brandt and husband Mike of Papua, New Guinea, Daniel Harwood and wife Kathy of San Jose, Calif., Clark Harwood and wife Valerie of Pine Knot, Ky., and Patrick Harwood and wife Lori of Rapid City, and their families. Other survivors include his sisters, Charlotte and Judy, brothers Don and Jim, their families, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Myers; brothers Dick, Tom and Morris; and a sister, Serena.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 21, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Behrens Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be Monday, October 22, 2001, at 10 a.m. at Behrens Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be at Black Hills National cemetery near Sturgis, S.D.

A memorial has been established.

William F. Aspen

YANKTON - William F. Aspen, 67, Yankton and formerly of Lead, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at a Yankton nursing home.

Survivors include two daughters, Pam Kerney, St. Onge, and Cathy Henwood, Sundance, Wyo.; one son, Brian Aspen, Belle Fourche; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna Stoner and June Bender, both of Rapid City.

Arrangements are pending with Fidler Funeral Chapel of Spearfish.

Lori Ann Cooke

RAPID CITY - Lori Ann Cooke, 33, Rapid City, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Scott Cooke, Rapid City; her children, Beth Cooke, Larry Joe Cooke and Matthew Cooke, all of Rapid City; her parents, Larry and Lynn Toman, Rapid City; and one brother, Lonny Toman, Fort Gordon, Ga.

Arrangements are pending with Kirk Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Harry W. Lehman

EDGEMONT - Harry W. Lehman, 80, Edgemont, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at Hot Springs Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lehman, Edgemont; one daughter, Janice Taffe, Alliance, Neb.; and one grandson.

Arrangements are pending with Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Clarence Woodard

UPTON, Wyo. - Clarence Woodard, 70, Upton, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Marjery Woodard, Upton; one son, Bruce Woodard, Spearfish, S.D.; two daughters, Carmen Diehl and Lisa Trandahl, both of Upton; two brothers, Richard Kieffe, Kyle, S.D., and Roxy Kieffe, Albuquerque, N.M.; four sisters, Mitzi Kleinsasser, Stockton, Calif., Betty Thornberg, Presho, S.D., Gay Leider, Reno, Nev., and Kay McMeeken, Santa Fe, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Fidler-Roberts Funeral Chapel of Sundance, Wyo.

Joseph Peter Mayer

MOTT, N.D. — Joseph Peter Mayer, 88, Mott, died Thursday, Sept. 27, at West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Mayer, Mott; four sons, Dan Mayer and Paul Mayer, both of Sturgis, S.D., Joe Mayer III, Minot, and Roger Mayer, Fargo; five daughters, Rosalee Granaas, Tucson, Ariz., Marie Sampson, South Weymouth, Mass., Rebecca Herner, Fargo, Pat Schmidt, Mandan, and Jolene Schulz, Edgely; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Frank, Mott.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Mott, and for one hour before services Monday, Oct. 1, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church south of Richardson, N.D.

A scriptural rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Brian Wangler officiating.

Burial will be at St. Stephen's Catholic cemetery.

John James Nedved

RAPID CITY — John James Nedved was born November 24, 1909, on his parents' homestead east of Milesville, the son of James and Kathryn (Griffin) Nedved. He grew up on the homestead and received his education in rural schools. As a young man, he worked for various farmers and ranchers in the Milesville area.

When John was in his early 20s, he worked as a carpenter with his father. He also played the violin, along with his father, in a small orchestra that performed at various group functions in the Milesville and Philip communities.

John was united in marriage to Mae M. Picher on July 28, 1951, in Philip, South Dakota. They made their home on the homestead that they operated.

His wife preceded him in death on August 25, 1967.

He and his daughter, Mary Lee, continued to operate the farm until 1978, when they retired and moved to Rapid City.

John was united in marriage to Frances Koop Horning on August 5, 1978, in Rapid City. They continued to make their home in Rapid City.

She preceded him in death on November 15, 2000.

Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter, Mary Lee Nedved of Rapid City, and a special friend, William C. Brady of Rapid City.

Funeral services for John James Nedved, age 91, of Rapid City, formerly of Milesville, S.D., will be held Monday, October 1, 2001, at 10 a.m. at the Community Evangelical Free Church in Philip, with Pastor Gary Wahl officiating.

John died Friday, September 28, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, September 30, at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip, and for one hour preceding the services at the church on Monday.

Interment will be at the Masonic cemetery in Philip.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Black Hills Workshop in Rapid City.

Ronald Lee Harrington

RAPID CITY — Ronald Lee Harrington, 54, Rapid City, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at his home.

Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Thibodeau, Rapid City; one son, Scott Harrington, Fairchild AFB, Wash.; three sisters, Janet Thompson, Rapid City, Donna Montgomery, Prattville, Ala., and Inez Fay Harrington, Wilmington, Del.; and six grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Behrens Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Randy C. Yeager

ELKHORN, Neb. — Randy C. Yeager, 49, Elkhorn, Nebraska, died Aug. 21, 2001, in Omaha.

Randy was born in Plentywood, Montana, on June 10, 1952. He moved to Rapid City, S.D., in 1953.

Randy attended grades K-12 in Rapid City, graduated from Central in 1970 and then from the National College of Business in 1974. He lived in Oregon, Idaho and Minnesota before moving to Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette, two sons, their wives and three grandchildren, all of Elkhorn, Neb.; his mother, Lulu Louise, Yeager; a brother, Walter and wife, Rapid City; and a sister, Wilma Fuhrman and husband, Eagle, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his father, William.

Evonne Arlene Prentice

FAIRMONT, Minn. — Evonne Arlene Prentice, 70, Fairmont and formerly of Rapid City, died Thursday, Sept. 27, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Survivors include one daughter, Eva Krenz, Fairmont; two sons, George Prentice, Fairmont, and Patrick Prentice, Dolliver, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Robert Prentice, Estherville, Iowa, and Bert Prentice, Georgia; one stepdaughter, Marilyn Street, Fort Dodge, Iowa; and three sisters, Darlene Ray, Barbara Morris and Elaine Ray, all of Rapid City.

Visitation will be for one hour before services, which will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.

Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Black Hills National cemetery near Sturgis, S.D.

Mildred E. Judd

HOT SPRINGS — Mildred E. Judd, 87, Hot Springs, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at her home.

Arrangements are pending with Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel of Hot Springs.

William E. ‘Bill' Mitchell

PLANKINTON — William E. "Bill" Mitchell, 84, Plankinton, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mitchell, Plankinton; four sons, Michael Mitchell, Boulder, Colo., Curtis Mitchell, Plankinton, Douglas Mitchell, Rapid City, and Bradley Mitchell, Sinai; two daughters, Diane Cockburn, Okmulgee, Okla., and Shirlee Weich, Plankinton; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at United Methodist Church in Plankinton, with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at the church, with the Rev. Gen Bockwoldt and the Rev. Richard Salmonson officiating.

Burial will be at Mizpah cemetery in Plankinton.

Shearer Funeral Home of Plankinton is in charge of arrangements.

IVANHOE, Minn. — Kenneth Stroom, 63, died Friday,

Sept. 28, 2001, at Ivanhoe Nursing Home.
