Donna Jean Oliver

BOX ELDER - Donna Jean Oliver, 60, Box Elder, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at Beverly Health Care Center in Rapid City.

Visitation will be Friday from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 25, 2002, at 3 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Dwight Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Butte cemetery.

Donna was born July 25, 1941, at Sturgis, S.D., to Kenneth and Evelyn (Marshall) Lowder. She grew up in Sturgis, where she attended Sturgis schools. She had lived many years in Box Elder, where she was employed with S.C.I. and for the Douglas School System. Donna was a very loving mother and grandmother.

Grateful for having shared her life are her three sons, James Oliver, Texas, Troy Oliver, Michigan, and Junior Oliver and his wife Ginney, Arkansas; three daughters, Annette Thompson and her husband David, Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., Tamra Eckhoff and her husband Jon, Denver, Colo., and Edna Oliver, Box Elder; one sister, Marjorie Ann Nazarian and her husband Greg, Albany, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren, Jay, Kayla and Kaysea Hoopman, Chelsea and Haley Thompson, Daniel and Courtney Balisco, and Ryan and Kara Oliver.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Frank Linneman

MOORCROFT, Wyo. - Frank Linneman, 40, Moorcroft, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Linneman, Moorcroft; two daughters, Candace Linneman and Wacey Linneman, both of Moorcroft; his parents, Gordon and Virginia Linneman, Gillette; two sisters, Shelley Rowland, Rock Springs, and Ruthie Vahlberg, Gillette; and four brothers, Rick Linneman, Gordon Lee Linneman, Rozet, Don Linneman, Pine Haven, and Ron Linneman, Gillette.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at the Linneman home, 11 Robinson Lane, with the Rev. Harold Holder officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been established for his daughters. Memorials may be sent to Pinnacle Bank, Box 100, Moorcroft, WY 82721.

Fidler-Roberts Funeral Chapel of Sundance is in charge of arrangements.

Angila B. Poor Bear

PINE RIDGE - Angila B. Poor Bear, 27, Pine Ridge, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, in Pine Ridge.

Survivors include her parents, MacArthur and Mary Belle Poor Bear, Pine Ridge; one son, Jerome Poor Bear, Pine Ridge; six sisters, Julie Poor Bear, Brookings, Tina Poor Bear, April Leftwich and Marsha Poor Bear, all of Pine Ridge, Miriam Jealous Of Him, Wounded Knee, and Irene Poor Bear, Rapid City; and seven brothers, Francis Poor Bear, Denver, Mike Poor Bear Jr., Isaiah Poor Bear and Daniel Poor Bear, all of Pine Ridge, and Aaron Poor Bear, Eric Poor Bear and Teddy Poor Bear, all of Brookings.

A two-night wake will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at Allen School Gym. The second night will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 26, at Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 27, at Billy Mills Hall, with the Rev. Don Mink officiating.

Burial will be at Wolf Creek Body of Christ cemetery in Pine Ridge.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

George 'Fat Kat' Lewin

PIEDMONT - George "Fat Kat" Lewin, 62, Piedmont, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Lewin, Piedmont; one stepson, Dusty Crisman, Lusk, Wyo.; his mother, Marie Lewin, Presque Isle, Maine; five children, Chris, George, Lynn, Joy and Lorene, all of the East Coast; two brothers, Mike Lewin, Chapman, Maine, and Cliff Lewin, Freedom, Maine; and three sisters, Marie Parks and Marion Peers, both of Westfield, Maine, and Linda Argraves, Manchester, Conn.

Arrangements are pending with Kinkade Funeral Chapel of Sturgis.

Marie F. Salathe

RAPID CITY - Marie F. Salathe, 89, Rapid City, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include one daughter, Valerie O'Connor, Rapid City; two sons, Norman Bloom, Tucson, Ariz., and Maynard Bloom, Pierre; one sister, Hazel Ludwig, Onida; and 10 grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Lucile M. Schofield

CHAMBERLAIN - Lucile M. Schofield, 92, Chamberlain and formerly of Midland, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Sunset Valley Haven in Chamberlain.

Survivors include one son, Allen Schofield, Chamberlain; two daughters, Gloria Hansen, Chamberlain, and Linda Snook, Sioux Falls; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred McFarling, Pierre.

Arrangements are pending with Rush Funeral Chapel of Philip.

John L. Wiersma

RAPID CITY - John L. Wiersma, 83, Rapid City, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, in Rapid City

Survivors include his wife, Leona Wiersma, Rapid City; two daughters, Doreen Hanneken, St. Louis, and Elli Schwiesow, Rapid City; two sons, Steve Wiersma, El Dorado Hills, Calif., and Paul Wiersma, Spokane, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Vander Wal, Bruce, and Doris Van Maanen, Volga; and one brother, Frank Wiersma, Tucson, Ariz.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Peace Lutheran Church in Brookings.

Memorials may be made to Lutheran Island Camp, 45011 230th Street, Henning, MN 56551.

Isabell Shinabarger

SPEARFISH - Isabell Shinabarger, 76, Spearfish and formerly of Bison, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, in Spearfish.

Survivors include one daughter, Alice Baker, Spearfish; three sons, Bob Shinabarger, Cheyenne, Wyo., Lt. Col. Don Shinabarger, Rapid City, and Dale Shinabarger, Plattsburg, Mo.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, June Lewis, Sturgis; and one brother, Boyd McKitrick, Bowman, N.D.

Her husband, Donald Shinabarger, preceded her in death.

Only private family visitation will be held.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 24, at First Presbyterian Church in Bison, with the Rev. Florence Hoff officiating.

Burial will follow at Bison cemetery.

Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home of Lemmon is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials have been established to Spearfish Hospice and First Presbyterian Church of Bison.

Andrew 'Andy' Houston Musegades

MINNEAPOLIS - Andrew "Andy" Houston Musegades, 23, Minneapolis and formerly of Rapid City, died on May 21st of a massive heart attack while at work. Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28th at South Canyon Lutheran Church. Pastor Bruce Thalacker will officiate.

Survivors include: his parents, Kent and Nancy Musegades of Rapid City; his sister Stefanie Musegades Adams and husband, Bob, and their two sons, Tom and Jake; his sister, Meredith Musegades Humke and husband, John and their newborn son Alec. Andy is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. All of his grandparents preceded him in death: Stan Houston, Harriet Houston Wick, Fremon Musegades and Vera Musegades.

Andy was born on February 2, 1979, in Rapid City, where he attended school. He graduated from Stevens High School in 1998 where he was a candidate for Homecoming King. During all of his school years Andy participated in baseball, soccer, wrestling and football. Andy attended Black Hills State University for one year.

Everyone who knew Andy loved him, as he was very kind and compassionate to all. He was a big guy and was called "the gentle giant" from early childhood. We all will miss him and his incredible sense of humor forever.

A memorial has been established.

Robert Lee Lingle

HOT SPRINGS - Robert Lee Lingle, 66, of Hot Springs, S.D., died Monday, May 20, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Robert was born April 23, 1936, to Albert and Ruby (Lias) Lingle in Richland, S.D.

He grew up in Union County, S.D.; moved to southern California following marriage for 11 years; moved to Sioux City, Iowa, in 1972; then moved to Rapid City, S.D., in 1988 and lived there ever since.

He married Frances Schincke on January 22, 1955, in Elk Point, S.D.

He was a full-time National Guard from 1955 to 1985. He retired from the National Guard in 1985 and was a member of the American Legion Post #71.

He loved fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Lingle of Hot Springs, S.D.; one daughter, Barb Lind of Beresford, S.D.; two sons, Dave and his wife Rhonda Lingle of Rapid City, S.D., and Chuck and his wife Shar Lingle of Rapid City, S.D.; two brothers, Charles Lingle of McCook Lake, S.D., and Alfred Lingle of Brookings, S.D.; one sister, Joy Zacek of Elk Point, S.D.; and five grandchildren, Megan, Mike and Meredith Lind of Beresford, S.D., and Brandon and Brittany Lingle of Rapid City, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Elly Lingle.

Memorial services will be Friday, May 24, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Behrens Mortuary, with Pastor Les Potts.

Inurnment will follow at Black Hills National cemetery.

A memorial has been established in his name.

Behrens Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mildred Agnes Porter Spargur

Visitation for Mildred Agnes Porter Spargur, whose obituary was in the Wednesday, May 22, edition of the Journal, has been scheduled.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel in Custer and for one hour before services, which will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at the Little White Church in Hill City.

Evelyn M. Donnenwirth

STURGIS - Evelyn M. Donnenwirth, 90, Sturgis, died at Tilford on Sunday, April 28, 2002.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until service time at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Muriel Oates officiating. Burial will follow at the Bear Butte cemetery.

Evelyn was born at Dakota City, Nebraska, on August 21, 1911, to (David) Glen and Madie (Fueston) Armour. She came to South Dakota as a small child, and her parents homesteaded near Enning. She attended grade school near Enning and high school in Rapid City. She was married to Vernon F. Donnenwirth at Rapid City, S.D., in 1934. She and Vernon owned and operated the Gamble Store in Faith from the mid-1940s until 1977.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Donnenwirth of Lake City, Florida; one daughter and her husband, Kathryn and Robert Daane of Sturgis; five grandchildren and their spouses, Roxann and Gareth Deal of Piedmont, Linda and Keith Bohn of Sturgis, Janelle and Jeff Rogers of Newcastle, Wash., James and Tami Daane of Sioux City, Iowa, and Jeff and Lori Daane of Castle Rock, Colo.; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Richard; one brother; three sisters; and one great-grandson.

A memorial has been established to the Faith Senior Citizens Center.
