Orville E. Davis

HOT SPRINGS - Orville E. Davis, 81, Hot Springs, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Victoria Davis, Hot Springs; two sons, Orin Davis, Hot Springs, and Russell Davis, Sioux Falls; two daughters, Pam Morsette and Debra Deboer, both of Hot Springs; one brother, Robert Davis, Anoka, Minn.; two sisters, Alice Hokeness, Adrian, Minn., and Shirley Turner, Bremerton, Wash.; and five grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

A wake service will be at 5 p.m. today at St. Anthony's Church in Hot Springs.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at the church.

Burial will be at Highland cemetery southwest of Hot Springs.

Rooks-McColley Funeral Chapel of Hot Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis G. Stanley

RAPID CITY - Phyllis G. Stanley, 70, Rapid City, died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at a local nursing home.

Survivors include one daughter, Dana Mischel, Bend, Ore.; three sons, Rod Mischel, Vancouver, Wash., Scott Mischel, Phoenix, and Kevin Mischel, Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Private family services will be at a later date.

Kirk Funeral Home of Rapid City is in charge of arrangements.

Ronald M. Gramling

RAPID CITY - Ronald M. Gramling, 19, Rapid City, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, west of Kadoka as the result of an automobile accident.

Survivors include his mother, Sandra Gramling, Rapid City; his father, Myron DuBray, Rapid City; seven sisters, Lynette Gramling, Carrie Gramling, Lisa Andrews, Karlie DuBray and Amber Janis, all of Rapid City, and Maria Bowman and Ronette Gallegos, both of Evans, Colo.; and three brothers, Brent Gramling, Myron DuBray Jr. and Corey Janis, all of Rapid City.

Arrangements are pending with Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Lyle W. Clark

BROOKINGS - Lyle W. Clark, 80, of Brookings, S.D., died Monday, May 13, 2002, at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Lyle was born on March 13, 1922, at Brookings to Lloyd and Gladys (Carsrud) Clark. At the age of 9 his family moved to the Lake Preston area, where they farmed. On June 21, 1941, he married Virginia Johnson.

In 1944, Lyle entered the United States Army and was assigned to the 347th Infantry Regiment, where he received a Combat Infantry Badge, the WWII Victory Medal, three Bronze Stars and the Presidential Unit Citation. Lyle was a continuous 50-year member and a member of the DAV and the 87th Infantry Division Association.

After returning from Germany, he continued to farm until 1954. In 1955, Lyle and Virginia moved to Arlington, where they owned and operated the Trail Cafe until 1957. In 1957, he joined Haufschild Excavating until retirement.

In October of 1998 Lyle and Virginia moved to Brookings, where they resided at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife Virginia of Brookings; three daughters, Caren (Bob) Brown of San Gabriel, Calif., Dorene (Larry) Relf of Brookings and Pamela Nelson of Sioux Falls; one son, Ronald (Paula) Clark of Rapid City, S.D.; two sisters, Laurel Reese of Sioux Falls and Linda (Paul) Sonntag of Delaware; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Gladys Clark; two sisters, Lois Clark and Leona Caswell; and a son-in-law, Larry Nelson.

Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be Saturday, May 18, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Arlington, with Pastor Jerry Stolp officiating; burial will be in the

Arlington City cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2002, in the Johnson-Henry Funeral Home, Arlington, and before services on Saturday.

Janice M. Coddington

RAPID CITY - Janice M. Coddington, 95, Rapid City, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at Bella Vista Nursing Home.

She was born in Dell Rapids on March 27, 1907. Her parents were Oliver W. Rosenberger and Mary (Paulson) Rosenberger. The family moved to Sioux Falls in 1915. She attended local schools, graduating from Washington High School, and she received an A.B. degree at Sioux Falls College in 1929.

She married Ellwood C. Coddington, a college classmate, at the Little Brown Church in Vale on June 30, 1930.

Mrs. Coddington spent several years as a high school English teacher, then formed a family home for her three children and her husband. They lived in Ashton, Alpena, Ipswich, Lemmon, Redfield, Spearfish, Rapid City, and Batesland. Mrs. Coddington and her husband retired to Rapid City in 1973.

Jan was a member of the First Baptist Church, Rapid City, S.D. She was active in Baptist and Methodist churches in towns where she lived. She was Worthy Matron, O.E.S., Ipswich, and a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood.

She is survived by her sons, Dean C. Coddington and his wife Judy of Littleton, Colo., and Richard A. Coddington and his wife Eleanor of Cloverdale, Calif.; her daughter, Mary Ann and her husband Joel S. Severson of San Antonio, Texas; her brothers, Stewart Richmond of Irvine, Calif., and Robert E. Richmond of Mesa, Ariz.; one sister, Grace Wieman of Sioux Falls; as well as 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on June 2, 2000; her mother; her stepfather, George Richmond; brothers, Rollin Rosenberger and Max W. Richmond; and sister Norma Grundy.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 19, 2002, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Behrens Mortuary.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 19, 2002, at 2:30 p.m. at Behrens Mortuary, with Pastor Paul Johns officiating.

Burial will be Monday, May 20, at the Rose Hill cemetery in Parker, S.D., at 3:30 p.m.

Memorial gifts may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Rapid City or the E.C. and Janice M. Coddington Scholarship at SDSU, Brookings, S.D.

Behrens Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

David Ernest Foster

CASPER, Wyo. - David Ernest Foster, 58, Casper and formerly of Winner, S.D., died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at Life Care Center in Casper.

Survivors include one brother, Don Foster, Casper.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date.

Bustard Funeral Home of Casper is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Shannon Leigh Schuhs

RAPID CITY - Shannon Leigh Schuhs, 32, Rapid City, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, James Schuhs, and one son, Devin Schuhs, both of Ellsworth Air Force Base.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Callaway, Smith & Cobb Funeral Chapel in Marlow, Okla.

Burial will be at Foster cemetery in Foster, Okla.

Campbell, Paula & Quinn Funeral Home of Rapid City is in charge of local arrangements.

Savilla Mae Morrison

SPEARFISH - Savilla Mae Morrison, 87, Spearfish, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at David M. Dorsett Health Care Facility in Spearfish.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Vernon Morrison, Spearfish; one son, David Morrison, Hereford, Ariz.; one sister, Bonnie Hansen, Black Forest, N.C.; and two brothers, Leslie Bates, Black Forest, and Lyndon Bates, Mitchell.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Fidler Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at United Methodist Church in Spearfish, with the Rev. Kip Roozen officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery in Spearfish.

A memorial has been established for United Methodist Church Building Fund, Spearfish.

Harriet Kinning Glassmaker

SPEARFISH - Harriet Kinning Glassmaker, 89, Spearfish, died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Church of All Angels Episcopal in Spearfish, with the Rev. Bruce Allen officiating.

A second service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte, with the Rev. Jeffrey Barnes officiating.

Burial will follow at Eagle Butte cemetery.

Kinkade Funeral Chapel of Sturgis is in charge of arrangements.

Rosemary 'Rosie' Behlings

CUSTER - Rosemary "Rosie" Behlings, 60, Custer, died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Behlings, Custer; three sons, Tim Behlings and Joel Behlings, both of Custer, and Brian Behlings, Chamberlain; one sister, Ann Cazer, Custer; one brother, Jim Tuchscherer, Corona; and two grandsons.

Arrangements are pending with Kirk Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Anthony J. Nalley

PIEDMONT - Anthony J. Nalley, 21, Piedmont, died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at St. Paul's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Survivors include his parents, George and Melinda Nalley, Piedmont; one brother, Wesley Nalley, Piedmont; and one sister, Bethany Nalley, Piedmont.

Arrangements are pending with Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Helena Eisenbraun

CASPER, Wyo. - Helena Eisenbraun, 92, formerly of Rapid City and Wall, died at her son's home in Casper, Wyo., on Tuesday, April 30, 2002.

She was born August 4, 1909, at Dallas, S.D., to John and Magdalena (Hieb) Schweigert, and this is where she was raised. She was baptized on Oct. 17, 1909, and was confirmed August 30, 1925. She was married to Richard K. Eisenbraun on Nov. 26, 1933, in Dallas. After they were married , they lived at Creighton on the farm. In 1958 they moved to Custer. They later moved back to Wall in 1961. In 1987 they retired in Rapid City, and then moved to Casper in 1999 due to health reasons.

She was a housewife and homemaker and worked at several motels. She was a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Richard K. Eisenbraun of Casper; four sons, Julius Eisenbraun of Mitchell, Herman Eisenbraun of St. Onge, John Eisenbraun of Casper, and Aaron Eisenbraun of Rapid City; two brothers, John Schweigert of Tucson, Ariz., and Adolph Schweigert of Dallas; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Daniel; two sisters, Olga Eisenbraun and Lenora Eisenbraun; and four brothers, Ruben Schweigert, Helmuth Schweigert and two in infancy.

Visitation will be at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City on Sunday, May 5, 2002, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Services are set for 11 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church in Rapid City, with the Rev. Robert Bailey officiating.

Interment will follow at the Wall cemetery in Wall.

The family prefers memorials to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Creighton, South Dakota.
