Velma Ruth Nelsen Anderson
WINNER — Velma Ruth Nelsen Anderson, 89, Winner, died Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Winner Regional Nursing Home.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Horgen, Winner; one son, Larry Anderson, Ideal; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Anderson.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 8 p.m., Monday, June 10, at Mason Funeral Home in Winner. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at First Christian Church in Winner. Burial will be at Winner cemetery.
Daniel Martinez
RAPID CITY - Daniel Martinez, 49, Rapid City, died Monday, June 10, 2002, as the result of a fall while hiking near Rapid City.
Survivors include his wife, Leanna Martinez, Rapid City; three daughters, Danita Martinez, Minneapolis, and Angela Martinez and Andrea Martinez, both of Rapid City; his parents, Pedro Martinez and Inez Martinez, Edgemont; five brothers, Michael Martinez, Alliance, Neb., Reuben Martinez, Thornton, Colo., Andrew Martinez, Vermillion, Anthony Martinez, San Antonio, and James Martinez, Atlanta; and two sisters, Frances Gonzalez, Chadron, Neb., and Juanita Sousa, Broomfield, Colo.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid City, with the Rev. Dwight Stensgaard officiating.
Burial will follow at Mountain View cemetery in Rapid City.
A memorial has been established.
Fern M. Cuevas
PINE RIDGE - Fern M. Cuevas, 51, Pine Ridge, died Friday, June 7, 2002, in Omaha, Neb.
Survivors include three sons, Gary Fleury, Craig Fleury and Steve Fleury, all of Omaha; one daughter, Davene Fleury, Omaha; two brothers, Myron High Bull, Lame Deer, Mont., and Sylvester Thin Elk, Mission; two sisters, Delores Noralez, Alliance, Neb., and Lois Campbell, Lame Deer; and one grandchild.
A one-night wake will begin at 1 p.m. today at Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, at Billy Mills Hall, with the Rev. Steve Sanford officiating.
Burial will be at St. Anne's Catholic cemetery in Wolf Creek.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

HOT SPRINGS - Paul W. Ewert, 78, Hot Springs, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002.
Arrangements are pending with McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.
Charlet B. Burroughs
EUGENE, Ore. - Charlet B. Burroughs, 91, Eugene, Oregon, resident and longtime Rapid City resident, died at a Eugene hospital Monday, June 10, 2002.
She was born on Nov. 8, 1910, at Whitewood, S.D., the daughter of Charles and Myrtle (Loffer) Sloan. The family moved to Rapid City when Charlet was eight years old and she attended Rapid City schools, graduating from Rapid City High School in 1931. She attended Black Hills Commercial College in Rapid City and also attended Green's Beauty School in Rapid City. Charlet married
Lloyd Burroughs on May 15, 1937, in Rapid City. She was employed as a bookkeeper with Dawley-Kegaries Clinic for a period of 18 years and with Radiology Associates for a period of 10 years. Charlet was a Life member of Does Drove 33 and a past member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She has resided in Oregon since 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Martin and her friend Larry Chase, Springfield, Oregon, and three grandchildren, Micheal Martin, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Amy Kolo, Deltona, Florida, and Angie Smigelski, Manteco, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983 and one sister.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mountain View cemetery, with Rev. Jeff Carlson officiating. Friends may gather at the funeral home prior to the services.
George Albert Tripet
TUCSON, Ariz. - George Albert Tripet, 81, Tucson and formerly of Custer, died in Tucson.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Tripet, Tucson; one daughter, Carol, Tucson; two grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Graveside memorial services, with Masonic rites by Custer Lodge No. 66, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, at Custer cemetery, with the Rev. Keith Ballinger officiating.
McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Custer is in charge of local arrangements.
William Larry Lee
RAPID CITY - William Larry Lee, 59, died June 10th at his home from heart failure.
Survivors include his parents, his children, his grandchildren and his fiancee. As a chiropractor, he touched the hearts and lives of many. Friends were a very special part of his personal life and practice.
A memorial service at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home will be at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14th, with a luncheon at the Al-Anon Club immediately following. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
Mildred L. 'Millie' Reinbold
RAPID CITY - Mildred L. "Millie" Reinbold, 74, Rapid City, died at a Rapid City nursing home Tuesday, June 11, 2002.
She was born Oct. 19, 1927, at Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Stieber) Stoiber. Millie married
Leo E. Reinbold at Sheboygan on June 9, 1946.
Survivors include a brother, Eugene Stoiber, Wisconsin Dells, Wis.; four sisters, Mary Reinboldt, Wisconsin Dells, Wis., Charlotte Rassel, Appleton, Wis., and Clara Warrens and Florence Reineking, both of Sheboygan, Wis.; and special friends Marlene Wager and Bill DeWall, both of Rapid City. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 16, 1999.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, with a Christian wake service at 7 p.m., at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2 p.m. Friday at the Blessed Sacrament Church, with Rev. Michel Mulloy presiding. Interment will be at the Mount Calvary cemetery.
Edwin Obenauer
PIERRE - Edwin Obenauer, 83, Pierre, died Sunday, June 9, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Obenauer, Pierre; two sons, Michael Obenauer, Billings, Mont., and Mark Obenauer, Muskogee, Okla.; one daughter, Barbara Bloxsom, Pueblo, Colo.; two grandsons; and one sister, Frieda Patterson, Tumwater, Wash.
He served as an airplane mechanic in the U.S. Air Force.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Feigum Funeral Home in Pierre.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Congregational United Church of Christ in Pierre.
Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. MDT Thursday, June 13, at Black Hills National cemetery near Sturgis.
Bill K. Heinbaugh
CASPER, Wyo. - Bill K. Heinbaugh, 76, Casper and formerly of Belle Fourche, S.D., died Sunday, June 9, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City.
Survivors include four sisters, Gail McLaughlin and Jane March, both of Rapid City; Bette Fillmore, Mitchell, S.D.; and Sharon Neff, Hill City, S.D.
He served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 20, 1943, to April 18, 1946.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday, June 12, at Kline-Frost Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Steve Olson officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Slope cemetery in Belle Fourche.
Pearl May Binder
SPEARFISH - Pearl May Binder died Sunday, June 9, 2002, at her home in Spearfish.
Pearl was born on July 11, 1900, in Aledo, Illinois, to James and Laura Belle (Bauguess) Landers.
As a child she moved with her family to Wyoming by covered wagon. She married
Eck Binder on December 20, l918. In 1921 they moved to Rapid City, S.D., where they owned and operated Binder's Shoe Store for many years. In 1996 Pearl moved to Spearfish and made her home at Tendercare Assisted Living.
Pearl was an experienced seamstress, enjoyed dancing and gardening, and spending time with her family.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was a past president. She was a Charter Member of the Benevolent Patriotic Order of Does of Rapid City and was active at the Canyon Lake Senior Center.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Ken Binder of New York City, Dan Binder of Spearfish, Becky Binder of Lead and Tim Binder of Stonington, Conn., and a daughter-in-law, DeDe Binder of Rapid City.
Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren, Paul, Phil, Emily, Andy, Tim, Sean, Ben and Mahlon.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2002, from noon until 5 p.m. at the Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home in Spearfish. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at the Mountain View cemetery in Rapid City, S.D.
The Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home of Spearfish has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Richard Hodgson
DEADWOOD - Richard Hodgson, 69, Deadwood, died Saturday, June 8, 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Leiker-Hodgson, Deadwood; one daughter, Pam Huraj, Orlando, Fla.; one son, Michael Hodgson, Orlando; and two sisters, Canada.
Memorial services were held Monday, June 10, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Deadwood.
Memorials may be made to The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society - Worldwide Work in care of the Deadwood congregation.
