Survivors include two sons, Gary Roggow, Mills, Wyo., and Doug Roggow, Gregory; two daughters, Barb Barber, Black Hawk, and Norma Hamling, Rapid City; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Dan Roggow, Burke, and Woodrow Roggow, Lucas.
His wife, Faye, preceded him in death.
A prayer service will be at 6:45 p.m. today at Kotrba Funeral Home in Gregory
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at Lucas Baptist Church.
Burial will be at Lucas cemetery.
Raymond Rip Kling
BELLE FOURCHE - Raymond Rip Kling, 78, Belle Fourche, died Monday, June 17, 2002, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Kling, Belle Fourche; two sons, Jon Kling, Harrisonville, Mo., and Kurt Kling, Belle Fourche; two daughters, Kelly Walton, Belle Fourche, and Edie Mechelay, Pampa, Texas; two brothers, Harvey Kling, Belle Fourche, and Fritz Kling, Chandler, Ariz.; one sister, Mary Ann DeMaranville, Chandler, Ariz.; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Kline-Frost Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche, and for one hour before services Friday, June 21, at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Hans Sacrison officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Slope cemetery in Belle Fourche.

EDGEMONT — Dr. James C. "Jim" Bastian, 78, Edgemont, died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at Castle Manor Nursing Home in Hot Springs.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Bastian, Edgemont; two sons, James Bastian Jr., Miles City, Mont., and Tracy Bastian, Mount Hope, Kan.; two daughters, Cheryl Madsen, Mount Hood, Ore., and Terry Gullickson, New Orleans; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Gausman, Custer, and Metha Blenkarn, Helena, Mont.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Lincoln, Neb.
Burial will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at St. James Parish Hall in Edgemont.

HOT SPRINGS — Joleen R. Reese, 63, Hot Springs, died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at Greater Fall River Health Services in Hot Springs.
Survivors include her husband, Francis Reese, Hot Springs; two sons, Brian Skovbo, Blair, Neb., and Lee Skovbo, Rapid City; one daughter, Beth Brown, Rapid City; one brother, Dean Nelson, Aurora, Colo.; one sister, Glenda Owens, Randolph, Neb.; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hot Springs, with the Rev. Kevin Clark officiating.

SISSETON — Harry Darby Pettersen, 89, Sisseton, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at Methodist Hospital in Minneapolis.
Survivors include one son, Ralph Pettersen, Rapid City; two daughters, Muriel Orr, St. Paul, Minn., and Janet Daniel, Minnetonka, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
His second wife, Marlys Nordstrom, preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Sisseton cemetery.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, at First Presbyterian Church in Sisseton.

ASHLAND, Ohio — Eunice W. Smalley, 80, Ashland, died Friday, June 21, 2002, at Samaritan Regional Health Center.
Survivors include her husband, Chester Smalley, Ashland; two sons, Gary Smalley, Cleveland, and Donald Smalley, Sturgis, S.D.; one sister, Maralyn Franks, Wooster, Ohio; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit at the funeral home for one hour before services, which will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, at Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home in Ashland.
Burial will follow at Ashland cemetery.

Rite of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 24, at Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City, with the Rev. Tim Castor officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Calvary cemetery in Rapid City.

RAPID CITY — Elwood Leo Redick, 76, Rapid City, died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Redick, Rapid City; one son, Mark Redick, Rapid City; two daughters, Paula Sauders, Syracuse, N.Y., and Sara Holcombe, Shakopee, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Patricia Cunningham, Washington, D.C., and Geraldine Renn, Federal Way, Wash.

William ‘Bill' Geis
BELLE FOURCHE — William "Bill" Geis, 67, Belle Fourche, died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Belle Fourche, on Monday, June 24, at 2 p.m., with Father Arnold Kari celebrating the mass. A Christian Wake Service will also be held Sunday evening, June 23, at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's Church.
Kline-Frost Funeral Home of Belle Fourche is in charge of arrangements. Viewing will be Sunday, June 23, from 9 a.m. — 6 p.m. at the Funeral Chapel, and also one hour before the funeral services at the Church on Monday afternoon.
Bill died unexpectedly of a massive heart attack while on his rural mail carrier route near Nisland, SD, Thursday a.m. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Annabelle "Annie" Geis of Belle Fourche, their seven children and spouses, and 15 grandchildren — Judy and Chris Kling, and children Alex, Camile, and Nicole of Belle Fourche; Cheryl and Rob White, and children Logan and Brolin of Paradise Valley, AZ; Lorri and Scott McPherson, and children Cole and Wyatt, of Paradise Valley, AZ; Gary and Sonia Geis, and children Brittany, Gavin, and Garett of Boulder, Colo.; Kathy and Michael Alosi, and son Austin of Scottsdale, AZ; William Geis Jr. and Jennifer, and children Jake and Jaren of Phoenix, AZ; Greg and Amy Geis and children Gunner and Hannah of Scottsdale, AZ. He is also survived by his brothers, Calvin and Pearl Geis of Belle Fourche, Bob and Judy Geis of Rapid City, and sister Charlaine and Tam Gatje of Pierre, sisters-in-law Rosemary Geis of Fallon, Nev., and Wini Geis of Belle Fourche, Great-Aunt Evangaline Young of Belle Fourche, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
William "Bill" Geis was born September 14, 1934, at Aladdin, Wyoming, to Clarence and Maxine Geis. He moved with his family in 1946 to Belle Fourche, where he graduated from High School in 1953. Bill attended BHSC and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in April 1954. Upon completion of his duties in 1956, Bill worked for the South Dakota Highway Department. He married
Annabelle K. Aberle on November 17, 1957. He began his career with the U.S. Postal Service as a mail clerk/carrier in 1958 at the Belle Fourche Post Office. He retired in September of 1990 as assistant postmaster, and at the time of his death he was a contract mail carrier.
Bill was a Belle Fourche City Councilman from 1987-1991. In his earlier years he enjoyed officiating high school basketball and football games for many years with his brother Cal. Bill's hobbies included fishing, golfing, yardwork, and spending lots of time with his family and grandchildren's activities. He and Annie traveled extensively to Colorado and Arizona in the winters to spend time with their children and families away from home. He will be greatly missed by his family, neighbors, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Maxine Geis, brothers Sherry and Kenneth, sisters Lorraine and Charlotte, and niece Lisa Geis.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established by the family.
Sammy Shepard Jr.
BELLE FOURCHE — Sammy Shepard Jr., 73, Belle Fourche, died Friday, June 21, 2002, at Fort Meade Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Sturgis.
Survivors include two daughters, Ronda Nilsen, Oelrichs, and Shelly Verry, Belle Fourche; two stepsons, Samuel Wesner, Whitewood, and Bill Ruiz, Rapid City; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army from June 30, 1946, to June 15, 1949, and in the U.S. Air Force from May 19, 1950, to May 18, 1954.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 24, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Black Hills National cemetery near Sturgis, with the Rev. Chris Crago officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home before leaving for the cemetery.
Joyce Lynn Cummings
RAPID CITY — Joyce Lynn Cummings, 52, Rapid City, died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at her home.
Survivors include one daughter, Heather Keller, Rapid City; one son, David Cummings, Rapid City; four sisters, Carol Weg- ner, Columbus, Miss., Jean Cummings and Becky Cummings, both of Martin, and Crystal Cope, Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Adrian Cline, Frankfurt, Germany, and Dennis Cline, Naper, Neb.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 24, at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City, with the Rev. Pat McCorkell officiating.
Burial will be at Pine Lawn cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
