Wayne A. Christopherson

RAPID CITY - Wayne A. Christopherson, 49, Rapid City, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, near Bismarck, N.D., as a result of an airplane accident.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City, with the Rev. Michel Mulloy officiating.

A memorial has been established for Angel Flight Central.

Osheim-Catron Funeral Home of Rapid City is in charge of arrangements.

Hazel L. Rounds

CUSTER - Hazel L. Rounds, 90, Custer, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Custer.

Arrangements are pending with McColley's Chapels of the Hills in Custer.

Edna Wilen Lehto

SPEARFISH - Edna Wilen Lehto, 85, Spearfish, died Monday, September 2, 2002, at her home in Spearfish.

Edna Fern Evelyn Lindberg was born on October 19, 1916, to Axel and Emma (Hendrickson) Lindberg near New England, ND. She grew up on the family farm near New England, ND. She met her husband Friidolf (Fred) Wilen in Gackle, ND, and they were married June 2, 1935. Fred died in 1966. Edna then worked in area hospitals as a nurse. She married Emil Lehto on October 3, 1981, in Spearfish. Emil died September 1, 1983, and Edna has continued to make Spearfish her home.

Edna especially enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading and puzzles.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children and their spouses, Fern and Robert Redinger of Sheridan, WY, Evelyn Wilen of Montrose, MN, Lance and Barbara Wilen of Willow Lake, SD, Karl and Betty Wilen of Battle Ground, WA, Duane and Evelyn Wilen of Belle Fourche, SD, Evelyn Wilen of Lincoln City, OR; her sister, Clara (Glenn) Halme of Yacolt, WA; and her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as her numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Edna was a lifetime member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents, one daughter, two sons, four grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, nine brothers, and two sisters.

Visitation will be at the Carlsen and Aldinger Funeral Home in Spearfish on Thursday, September 5, 2002, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and at the church for one hour prior to the service on Friday. A memorial service will be held at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2002, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Spearfish, with Max Willliamson and Dave Lindberg officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill cemetery in Spearfish. The Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home of Spearfish has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Genevieve 'Jennie' Pullins

RAPID CITY - Genevieve "Jennie" Pullins, 96, of Rapid City, died Wednesday, September 4, 2002, at a local nursing home.

She was born on December 21, 1905, in Ottumwa, IA, to Charles and Dora (Proctor) Hard.

She married Charles A. Pullins on August 18, 1927, in Dupree, SD.

They homesteaded in the summer of 1910 in Perkins County, SD; moved to the Black Hills in 1941; lived in Hill City and Lead; and in 1955, they moved to Rapid City, SD.

She enjoyed baby-sitting and taking care of family and friends. She wrote poetry, enjoyed flower gardens, baking and going to K-mart. Her family was her life.

She is survived by two daughters, Thelma and her husband Bill Cotton and Mary and her husband James Trenary, all of Rapid City, SD; a niece, Betty J. Reznicek of Rapid City, SD; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Pullins, on November 23, 1969; two sons, Glenn K. Pullins, who was killed in the Korean Conflict, Gaylord E. Pullins in 1984; four brothers; three sisters; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, 2002, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Behrens Mortuary.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 9, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at Behrens Mortuary Chapel, with Reverend Randy Brock officiating, Open Bible Christian Center.

Burial will follow at Black Hills National cemetery near Sturgis, SD.

Behrens Mortuary, Rapid City, SD, is in care of arrangements.

Shirley May Lund Brown

WINNER - Shirley May Lund Brown, 77, Winner, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Winner Regional Healthcare Center.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including Orville Lund, Carol Miller, Emmett Fluent, Don Fluent, Stewart Fluent and Donna Brown.

Her husband, Edmond Brown, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at Mason Funeral Home in Winner. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Winner.

Burial will be at Winner cemetery.

Melba Dawn Dehlinger-McCaskey

WEAVER, Ala. - Melba Dawn Dehlinger-McCaskey, 55, Weaver and formerly of Rapid City, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Pat McCaskey, Rapid City; two daughters, Elizabeth Dalton, Shelbyville, Tenn., and Wendy Parker, Munford; one son, Gregg McCaskey, Weaver; her mother, Melba Fite-Keown, Weaver; two brothers, Doug Lipsey and Phil Keown, both of Dallas; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Anniston.

Debra G. Warrior

PINE RIDGE - Debra G. Warrior, 43, Pine Ridge, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, in Omaha, Neb.

Survivors include two sons, Lester Warrior and Austin Warrior, both of Pine Ridge; two daughters, Holly Warrior and Jennifer Warrior, both of Pine Ridge; three brothers, Clifton Waters and Larvie Running Hawk, both of Pine Ridge, and Myron Warrior, Rapid City; one stepbrother, Cyril Warrior, Calico; one sister, Julie Warrior, Oglala; and four stepsisters, Gloria Warrior, Violet Ten Fingers and Sylvia Young Dog, all of Oglala, and Ida Warrior, Hot Springs.

A two-night wake will begin at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Debra Warrior's home in Mission Flats. The second night will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Brother Rene Catholic Hall in Oglala.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Brother Rene Catholic Hall, with the Rev. Bill Pauly officiating.

Burial will be at Our Lady of Good Counsel cemetery in Oglala.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.

Ewald W.H. Burmeister

MITCHELL - Ewald W.H. Burmeister, 91, Mitchell and formerly of Mount Vernon, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.

Survivors include one daughter, Barb Moen, Roslyn; four sons, Doug Burmeister, Don Burmeister and Randy Burmeister, all of Mount Vernon, and Rod Burmeister, Rapid City; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two half-brothers, Bernard Kreth and Luverne Kreth, both of Mount Vernon; and three half-sisters, Erna Scheetz, Valinda Mehlhaff and Gladys Ziebart, all of Parkston.

His wife, Irene Burmeister, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Dimock. Burial will be at St. John's Lutheran cemetery.

Marvin Goglin

HOT SPRINGS - Marvin Goglin, 69, Hot Springs, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home in Hot Springs.

Arrangements are pending with McColley's Chapels of the Hills in Hot Springs.

Ethel M. Hook

ALVA, Wyo. - Ethel M. Hook, 97, Alva, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish, S.D.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Hook, Buffalo, Wyo., and Leonard Hook, Alva, and one sister, Bessie Braden, Ontario, Ore.

Arrangements are pending with Kline-Frost Funeral Chapel of Belle Fourche.

Marion R. Jensen

PINE RIDGE - Marion R. Jensen, 53, Pine Ridge, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, in Rapid City.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Jensen, Hot Springs; one daughter, Jennie Kills Back, Pine Ridge; three brothers, Pat Lee, Rapid City, Donald Lee, Denver, and Chris Roubideaux Jr., Pine Ridge; and seven sisters, Yvonne Powers, Lincoln, Neb., Faye Schafer, Phoenix, Verna Throw, Silver Springs, Nev., Cheryl Trombley, Rushville, Neb., Chrystal Folson, Hot Springs, Margaret Roubideaux, Pine Ridge, and Monie Roubideaux, Sun Lakes, Ariz.

A one-night wake will begin at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the church, with the Rev. Steve Sanford officiating.

Burial will be at Pine Ridge Presbyterian cemetery.

Mary Ellen Groff

PIERRE - Mary Ellen Groff, 86, Pierre, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Feigum Funeral Home of Pierre.

Robert S. Hinman

CHADRON, Neb. — Robert S. Hinman, 85, Chadron, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at Hot Springs Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hot Springs, S.D.

Survivors include his wife, Therese Hinman, Chadron; five daughters, Ladonna Pascoe, Merriman, Sheryl Lee, Gordon, Judy Domingo, Hay Springs, Charla Marchant, Chadron, and Karla McConnell, Omaha; two sons, Michael Hinman and Tom Hinman, both of Chadron; one brother, Lerrill Hinman, Wall, S.D.; three sisters, Ruth Renner, Deadwood, S.D., Joyce Hinman, Rapid City, S.D., and Edith Strandell, Wittenberg, Wis.; 26 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were Saturday, Aug. 17, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Chadron, with the Rev. Ed Cortney and the Rev. Tim Stoner officiating. Burial followed at Calvary cemetery. Military services were provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.

A memorial has been established for St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Chadron. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, P.O. Box 970 in Chadron.

Gerald Bernard Johnson

RAPID CITY — Gerald Bernard Johnson, 84, Rapid City, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Carole Johnson, Rapid City; three daughters, Sandra Cox, Mount Vernon, Wash., Sharon Benson, Grenville, and Jeri Arguello, Axtel, Neb.; one son, Steven Johnson, Spokane, Wash.; three brothers, Grant Johnson, Arley, Ala., Maynard Johnson, Rapid City, and James Johnson, Longmont, Colo.; five sisters, Evelyn Mellenbrendt, Tucson, Ariz., Arlene Miller, Sioux Falls, Violet Miles, Humboldt, Wanda Theye, Rapid City, and Mavis Vincent, Erwin; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Little Chapel of the Pines in Pine Lawn Memorial Park, Rapid City, with the Rev. Bruce Baum officiating.

Campbell, Paula & Quinn Funeral Service of Rapid City is in charge of arrangements.

Richard ‘Wes' Wagner

WHITE RIVER — Richard Wesley "Wes" Wagner, 68, White River, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at home.

Survivors include Dorothy Krogman, White River; three daughters, Carla Bak, Cashiers, N.C., Rita Bergendahl, Chesapeake Beach, Md., and Dawn Wagner, Sacra-mento, Calif.; two sons, Richard Wesley Wagner Jr., Park City, Utah, and Jimmy Wagner, Sacramento; three sisters, Elaine Hight, Presho, Lloydene Peterson, GrandIsland, Neb., and Ione Tower, Newport, Ore.; one half-sister, Carmel Fast, Hillsboro, Ore.; and five grandchildren.
