Warren H. Anderson

Warren H. Anderson, age 70, of Yankton, South Dakota died Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.
Funeral services are 10:30 AM, on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Dani Jo Ninke-Greaver officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories cemetery with military honors provided by the Ernest-Bowyer VFW Post No. 791. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Friday, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton. Visitation resumes one hour prior to the funeral.
Pallbearers are Paul Anderson, Joe Vitek, John Lynch, Rod McCloud, Denis Nelson and John Riedlinger.
Warren was born on July 24, 1938 in Yankton, South Dakota to Harvey W. and Edna (Ingebrigtson) Anderson. He grew up in Yankton and graduated from Yankton High School. He then served in the United States Navy. After his discharge, he was recruited by IBM and trained and educated as a computer programmer and software developer. His job took him and his families from San Bernardino, CA to Poughkeepsie, NY to Austin, TX and finally to Rochester, MN. He retired from IBM in 1992. Warren married Susan Lane in 1956 at Yankton and had four children: James (Shawn) Anderson of Rochester, MN, Jeanne (John) Riedlinger of Clarks Grove, MN, Deborah (Denis) Nelson of Rochester and Jamie (John) Lynch of Racine, MN. In 1979, Warren married Cindy Vandermark in Rochester and together they had four children: Elizabeth Anderson of Minneapolis, Timothy Anderson of Alborn, MN, Rachel Anderson of Minneapolis and Michael Anderson of Alborn.
Warren was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed karaoke, reading any book, and football. He was a faithful fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He was known for his quick wit, smile and his generosity to his friends.
Warren is survived by his eight children; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three sisters: Joy (Ron) Voss of Boone, IA, Gay (Donald) Hodges of Irving, TX and Jana (Rod) McCloud of Yankton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger Anderson; and ex-wife, Susan Anderson.

James Arthur Manning

Services for James Arthur Manning, 71, Florida, were held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at Palm Beach Memorial Gardens, Lantan, Fla. Mr. Manning died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005.
He was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Northville.
In 1965 he and his wife and two sons moved to Miami, Fla.
Survivors include his mother: Doris Letterer; two sons: Dean (Barbara) and Bruce (Cynthia); six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and one sister: Mrs. Mervin (Darlene).

Wayne H. Cowman

Wayne H. Cowman, age 70, of Yankton, South Dakota, died February 12, 2007 at his residence in Yankton.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, February 15, 2007, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home with Reverend Marilyn Stone officiating. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the memorial service.
Honorary pallbearers are Melvin Patton, Roy Doering, Craig Gartner, David Patton, Dusty Passick, and Jeff Jensen.
Wayne H. Cowman was born July 8, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Marian (Gordon) Cowman. He grew up and attended school in Volin, South Dakota graduating from Volin High School in 1956. He joined the United States Air Force on February 19, 1957, where he was stationed in Japan until being honorably discharged on January 27, 1961. When he returned, he moved back to Volin where he was employed as a truck driver. He married Jean Butler on July 27, 1966, in Las Vegas, Nevada. After their marriage they moved to California for 10 years until moving to Yankton where Wayne continued his trucking career until retiring in 2006.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, trains, riding his motorcycle, but especially spending time with his family, grandchildren, and dog, Bandit. Wayne was also known for his generosity, giving to anyone he met and extending a helping hand to anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife, Jean of Yankton; two sons, Harold Lee and Phillip Cowman both of Tuscon, Arizona; four daughters, JoAnn Yeakel of New Port Beach, California, Susan (Daniel) Hill of Dana Point, California, Cindy (Rick) Gartner of Mission Hill, South Dakota, and Candy (Corey) Bruce of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 10 grandchildren, Tiffany, Alexis, Allyson, Kaitlyn, Christian, Aarik, Stephanie, Brigitte, Bryan, and Makenna; one brother, John Cowman of Pocatello, Idaho; and two sisters, Bonnie (Jim) Shaw and Donna (Gary) Dixon both of Pocatello.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Elizabeth A. Hames

Elizabeth A. Hames, age 89, of Crofton, NE died on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the Avera Yankton Care Center in Yankton, SD.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 10:30 am at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton with Rev. Michael Schmitz and Rev. Dan Guenther officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph cemetery in Constance. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the church with a rosary at 4:30 pm and a vigil service at 7:00 pm under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton.
Pallbearers will be Michele Ringsdorf, Michael Spieler, Victor Hames, Brian Bohr, Angela, Heier, and Matthew Hames. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Elizabeth was born on February 25, 1919 northwest of Crofton to Ferdinand J. and Mary W. (Foxhoven) Guenther. She grew up in the Crofton area and attended St. Rose Catholic Grade School in Crofton. She married Victor P. Hames on May 2, 1944 at Constance, NE. They farmed south of Crofton and in 2000 Elizabeth moved to Hartington and then to the Majestic Bluffs in Yankton in 2005.
Elizabeth was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and Guild, Christian Mothers, and Ministry of Praise. She was a former member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Constance and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington. She liked to crochet and make afghans, work puzzles and word games, and loved flowers. She especially enjoyed being with her family.
Elizabeth is survived by 7 children; Rose Marie and Earl Berkey of Omaha, Donna Mae and Lyle Spieler of Sioux City, Iowa, Jim and Patricia Hames of Crofton, Patricia and Ken Bohr of Royal, Iowa, Barbara and Dennis Brandon of Yankton, Jerry Hames of Crofton, Don and LaDonna Hames of Hartington, 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Anna Wortmann of Hartington, Rosaline and Roman Burbach of Hartington, 2 brothers; Joseph and Marcie Guenther of South Sioux City, NE, Albert and Janice Guenther of Norfolk, 2 sisters in law; Helen Dreismeier and Rose Mary Guenther both of Crofton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Victor on August 8, 1977 at the age of 62, 3 grandchildren, Mary, Jeffrey and Julie Brandon, 2 sisters Catherine Dreismeier, and Mary Steffen, 3 brothers; Fred, John, Clarence Guenther.

John A. Zeeb

John A. Zeeb, age 63, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Menno-Olivet Care Center in Menno, South Dakota.
A Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM, Monday, December 29, 2008, at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Michael Hecht officiating, and military honors provided by the Menno American Legion Post 152. Burial will be at a later date in the Edelman cemetery in Menno. Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service are in charge of the arrangements.
John A. Zeeb was born January 13, 1945, to Gideon Peter "Pete" and Delphine (Edelman) Zeeb in Viborg, South Dakota. He grew up in the Scotland and Menno area and graduated from Menno High School in 1963. He entered the U.S. Air Force in August of 1936 and served in the Phillipines and Turkey until 1967. He returned to Yankton after the war and attended the University of South Dakota in Springfield, South Dakota graduating in 1971. He owned and operated Mr. Z's Quick Print and later went to work at The Bankcard Center for 20 years retiring in 2004 and moving to Menno. He married Linda Sue Heimes Mauch on February 14, 1992.
He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and the Menno American Legion Post 152. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching TV, and helping with farm work for friends.
He is survived by his wife Linda Sue Zeeb of Menno; two children, Matthew Zeeb of Washington, PA and Rebecca Zeeb of Yankton; two step-sons, Jason (Judy) Mauch of Jacksonville, FL and Jim Mauch of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Emily, Brody, Sidney, and Ethan Mauch; one brother, Ken Zeeb of Menno; sister-in-law, Mary Gay (Harold) Feilmeier of Hartington, NE; two brothers-in-law, Clayton (Bette) Heimes of Wynot, NE and Charles Deist of Dallas, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stillborn daughter.

Esther G. Bottolfsen

Esther G. Bottolfsen, age 95, of Hartington, Nebraska, died on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at the Golden Living Center in Hartington.
Memorial Services will be on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington with Rev. Bob Bryan officiating. There will be a private family burial of the ashes at the Paragon cemetery, rural Hartington. The Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are preferred to the Paragon cemetery Association.
Esther was born on August 24, 1911 at rural Wynot to Manuel and Arna (Haugh) Klanderud. She was baptized at the Lime Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church south of Maskell and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Obert. She attended grade school in the rural schools of Ames Creek, Pleasant Grove (Monument School), and Brookey Bottom, all in Cedar County. She attended the Obert High School for 3 years, which was all that was offered there. The last year of high school was attended at Wayne State College where she earned college credits and received her teaching certificate. She taught for 8 years in the Brookey Bottom School and the Lone Valley School.
Esther married C. Kenneth Bottolfsen on May 22, 1937 at Obert. Following their marriage they spent a summer in California and returned to the Hartington area in 1938 and began farming. In 1957 Esther went back to teaching at the St. James Public School for 3 years. She then taught at Branch School for a year and then 7 years at St. Peter School. When the school closed for the lack of students she taught at Mayflower School for 4 years. Her last 2 years of teaching were spent at Branch School. She retired in 1975 after 25 years of teaching rural schools in Cedar County.
Esther taught Sunday School and held office in the Women's Organization of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Obert. She later became a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the ALCW, and was the church librarian. She was a member of the Farmers Union in Hartington.
Esther is survived by 5 children, Gene Bottolfsen of Stillmen Valley, Illinois, Connie Loftus of Salix, Iowa, Arlis Burney and her husband Travis of Lincoln, NE, Dennis Bottolfsen of Sioux City, Iowa, Gary Bottolfsen of Hartington. 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Olga Bottolfsen of Hartington, Rachel Schneider of Phoenix, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth on Sept. 30, 1985, an infant sister, 2 brothers, a grandson, and a granddaughter.

Elizabeth J. Buschelman

Elizabeth J. Buschelman, age 96 of Fordyce, Nebraska, died on Monday, December 8, 2008 at Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge, NE.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fordyce with the Rev. David Fulton officiating. Burial will be in Fordyce at St. John the Baptist cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation will continue on Saturday, at church, one hour prior to services.
Pallbearers will be Scott Buschelman, Tom Wilson, Tyler Pofahl, Craig Dreismeier, Joe Tangeman, Todd Pofahl.
Elizabeth Josephine Buschelman was born on November 8, 1912 in Menominee, Nebraska to Vincent and Elizabeth (Wuesterwald) Blaschke. Elizabeth grew up in the Menominee area. She married Clarence Michael Buschelman on February 19, 1936 in Fordyce after a four year courtship. Elizabeth and Clarence farmed in the Coleridge, Menominee, and Vermillion areas. They moved to Yankton, SD where they both did custodial work for Yankton College. She and Clarence moved to Fordyce in 1976. They continued doing custodial work at the school and church in Fordyce before retiring. She had been a resident of Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge since April 8, 2003.
Elizabeth was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and Christian Mothers. She loved gardening and being outdoors.
She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses, Allen and Myla Buschelman of Green River, Wyoming, Alvin and Dusty Buschelman of Topeka, KS, Darlene and Paul Dreismeier of Omaha, NE; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; one sister, Albina Schrempp of Yankton, SD.
Preceding Elizabeth in death were her parents, husband Clarence on February 25, 1992 at the age of 83 years, 1 great grandson, Andrew Tangeman; 5 brothers, John, Joe, Adolph, Benjamin, and twin Emil Blaschke; 2 sisters, Frances Kast, and Alice Thury.

Floyd Charles Hacecky

Floyd Charles Hacecky, age 83, of Lakeview, Arkansas and formerly of Yankton, died on Friday, December 12, 2008 at his home.
Memorial services are 10:30 AM, Monday, December 22, 2008, at Wintz and Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota with the Reverend David Gunderson officiating. Inurnment will be in the Garden of Memories cemetery in Yankton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Floyd was born November 13, 1925 to Charles and Clara (Schempp) Hacecky. He married Donna Dilley on September 16, 1948 in Yankton. Floyd was a farmer with a passion for airplanes and flying. He was also a builder of homes, airplanes, and farm equipment. He enjoyed fishing and pinochle. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. Floyd and Donna lived in Yankton until 1985 when they moved to Carmichael, California. They lived the last 16 years in Lakeview, Arkansas. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Floyd is survived by his wife Donna of Lakeview, AR; son, Kim (Karen) Hacecky of Yankton; daughter, Karla (Tom) Tastad of Sioux Falls; brother, Dale (Mary) Hacecky of Yankton; two sisters, Dorothy Prickett of Scotland and Joyce (Lee) Plank of Bella Vista, AR; five grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals, Arkansas and Wintz and Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota.

Arnold Johnson

VERMILLION -- Arnold T. Johnson, 82, of rural Vermillion, died Tuesday (Nov. 22, 2005) at Sioux Valley Vermillion Hospital.

Bernard Alvin DeBulten
(October 15, 1936 - November 7, 2011)

Bernard A. DeBulten, 75, of Sioux Falls formerly of Colton died Monday, November 7, 2011 at Covington Heights in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic. Burial will be in the Colton cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 7-8:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the funeral home.
Bernard was born October 15, 1936 on the family farm near Colton to parents Henry and Gertrude (Reurink) DeBulten. He started his education in the Berdahl Country School and finished grade School at Franklin Grade High. He married Shirlene Brush in 1967. She died May 4, 1985.
Bernard worked in construction and also as a truck driver. He lived in Sioux Falls, Sioux City and in Oregon before returning to Sioux Falls, after the death by his wife. Bernard became a resident of the Helping Hands Assisted Living Center in Brandon in 2006, before moving to Covington Heights.
Bernard also served in the Air National Guard and was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sioux Falls.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles and doing crafts.
Grateful for having shared his life are his sister, Jane Dannen, Sioux Falls; brothers, Fred (Patty)DeBulten, Sedalia, Missouri; Harold (Lorna) DeBulten, Sioux Falls; eight nieces and nephews; and a foster son, Mike Mackey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirlene and his parents.

LeRoy Laverne Burton
Birth date: September 12, 1929
Death date: April 18, 2008

LeRoy Laverne Burton, 78, of Oregon, Missouri, formerly of Meckling, South Dakota, passed away on April 18, 2008 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was born on September 12, 1929 in Meckling, South Dakota, one of six children of Buel and Myrtle (Kaeberle) Burton.
He married Donna L. Dennison on October 17, 1948. They became parents of seven sons. Donna passed away on April 17, 1990.
LeRoy lived and farmed in the Meckling, South Dakota area until 1957. He then moved to LaHabra, California where he worked and later managed a service station until 1967. The Burton family moved to St. Joseph, Missouri and later to the Oregon and Maitland area. LeRoy worked in the fertilizer and propane delivery business until his retirement.
He enjoyed traveling to South Dakota to visit family, and having his children and grandchildren around.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; two sons, Bradley and Robert; brother, Harold; and one great grandchild Arik Lee Harper.
He is survived by his sons, Michael of Moberly, Missouri, David of Maitland, Missouri, Roger (Marta) of Oregon, Missouri, Lyle (Rosanna) of Murry, Iowa, Gary of Amazonia, Missouri; four sisters, Norma Prouth of Palm Desert, California, Carol Hubert of Vermillion, South Dakota, Diane Finks, Arlington, Virginia and Jeannie (Bill) Barta of Gayville, South Dakota; sister-in-law, Helen Burton of Vermillion, South Dakota; seven grandchildren, Mallory, Travis, and Corey Burton, Michael Burton, Rachel Carroll, Krystal Newton, and Kerrie Burton; four great grandchildren, Brady Burton, Isabella Buck, Elizabeth Harper, and Andrea Jo Rehmeyer; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday April 22, 2008, at Iverson-Siecke-Kober Funeral Home of Vermillion with burial to follow at Bluff View cemetery. Visitation is on Tuesday April 22, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home
