Mary Frances Stone
BAXTER -- Graveside services for Mary Frances Stone, 100, of Sterling Heights, Mich., formerly of Baxter, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, at Odd Fellows cemetery.

The family will receive friends following services at the cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stone died Saturday, July 19, 2008, in Meadow Lodge Nursing Home in Sterling Heights.

She was born May 30, 1908, in Baxter to the late Arthur and Vela Dyer Judd.

Mrs. Stone was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist faith. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Her family includes a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Kent Henze of Sterling Heights; a sister, Ruby Byrne of Baxter; a son-in-law, Robert Wingate; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ridley H. Stone; a daughter, Evelyn Wingate; a sister, Jessie McClain; and three brothers, Hobert, Clyde and Carl Judd.

Rev. Roger C. Paavola will officiate at the services.

Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Homes and Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.

Sheila Gail Blakley

CELINA -- Funeral services for Sheila Gail Blakley, 52, of Moss, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Ashlock Church of Christ.

Ms. Blakley died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in Cumberland River Hospital.

Hall Funeral Home in Celina in charge of arrangements.

Bethel Leonard Selby
SPARTA — Funeral services for Bethel Leonard Selby, 65, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, at Thurman Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today, Monday, July 21, at the funeral home.

Mr. Sleby died Saturday, July 19, 2008, at his home.

Jay C and Pearle E. Anderson
COOKEVILLE — Memorial services for the beloved couple, Jay C. Anderson Sr., 83, and Pearl E. Wyatt Anderson, 80, both of Sparta, formerly of Pennsylvania, will be held at noon on Saturday, July 26, at Jackson Street Grill, 780 West Jackson Street, Cookeville.

Mr. Anderson died Oct. 29, 2007, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Anderson died July 4, 2008, at her home after a very lengthy illness.

Their family includes nine children; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren, mostly from other states.

On behalf of their family, sincere gratitude is extended to NHC Home Care and Lazarus House Hospice and volunteers for their expertise, compassion and endless support, ensuring quality of life on their final journey. All staff members of these extraordinary organizations are encouraged to come to Jackson Street Grill.

Donetta Faye Schmidt
COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Donetta Faye Schmidt, 67, of Gonzales, La., and formerly of Cookeville, were held today, Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. from the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home.

Burial was in Crest Lawn cemetery.

Ms. Schmidt died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, in Gonzales.

She was born Aug. 7, 1941, in Jackson County to the late Ruth Ragland McBroom and Donell McBroom.

Ms. Schmidt was a member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ. She worked at Plateau Mental Health Center for 30 years and retired in 2002 as a physician's clerical assistant. Ms. Schmidt was well-known for her love of family and friends, and they were always welcomed in her home. She enjoyed flower gardening and music, was an excellent cook and had an unforgettable laugh.

Her family includes a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Faron Freeman of Gonzales; a son, Christopher Adams of Pikeville; a brother, Dwain McBroom of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Briana Norrod of Cookeville and Nicole Quirk, Shannon Cobb and Chase Freeman, all of Gonzales; and five great-grandchildren.

Bro. Johnny Fox officiated the services.

Mary McCulley
LIVINGSTON -- Funeral services for Mary McCulley, 94, of Livingston, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston.

Burial will be in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends today, Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. McCulley died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Speck Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Donetta Faye Schmidt

Faye Stamper Flannery
SPARTA -- Funeral services for Faye Stamper Flannery, 77, of Sparta, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Oaklawn cemetery.

Family will receive friends today, Tuesday, Sept. 9, after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Flannery died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage after a protracted illness.

She was born Dec. 5, 1930, in Buckhorn, Ky., to the late Harlen and Mae Stamper.

Mrs. Flannery was primarily a homemaker during her 41-year marriage to Cecil Dorvin Flannery (who died Dec. 16, 1991). She also learned to play the piano, taught adult reading classes and worked as a certified nursing assistant at the Sparta Health Care Center. She retired in 1998. She was a member of the Lutheran faith.

She loved reading, crossword puzzles, gardening and needlework. Mrs. Flannery was an avid Cincinnati Reds baseball fan and a huge University of Cincinnati Bearcats basketball fan.

Mrs. Flannery moved at age 7 to Hamilton, Ohio, where she graduated from Hamilton High in June of 1950. She and her husband (married May 6, 1950) moved to Sparta in 1965. At the time of her death, she had been living with her son and loving daughter-in-law in Mt. Juliet.

Her family includes her daughter, Lois Jean Flannery and partner Richard Crisafulli of Algood; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald Wayne and Becky Flannery of Mt. Juliet, and Kelly Lee and Sharon Flannery of Sparta; a sister, Frankie Cassell of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Jo Stamper of Frankfort, Ky.; six grandchildren, Amanda Creel and husband Eric of Mobile, Ala., Medidet Haring of Oyster Bay, N.Y., Jason Flannery of Cookeville, Melissa Flannery of Clarksville and Travis and Caleb Flannery of Sparta; and two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Zachary Creel of Mobile.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Flannery was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Hurst.

Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Clarence Kenneth (Ken) Miller
INDIANA -- Funeral services for Clarence Kenneth (Ken) Miller, 74, of Lake Station, Ind., will be held Thursday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home in Portage, Ind.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 2-4 p.m. and again from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Miller died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Richard Robert Sarr
OHIO -- Mass of Christian Burial for Richard Robert Sarr, 78, of Norwalk, Ohio, was held Monday, Sept. 8, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Norwalk.

Burial was in St. Paul cemetery.

Mr. Sarr died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Paul Catholic Church, Faithful Stewards of Tomorrow, 91 East Main St., Norwalk, Ohio 44857, or to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
