Alton Maunte Rutledge Jr.
Funeral service for Alton Maunte Rutledge Jr., 34, was held at noon Tuesday, May 28, 2002, from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson. The remains were cremated.
Mr. Rutledge died Thursday, May 23, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was a native of Florida.
Survivors are his wife, Sonya Edmondson Rutledge, Charlotte, Tenn.; son, Javarious M. Rutledge, Charlotte; daughter, Jasmine M. Rutledge, Charlotte; father, Alton M. Rutledge Sr., Orlando, Fla.; mother and step-father, Josephine and Donald Corbett, Wilmington, N.C.; brothers, Robert Corbett and Donald Otis Corbett, both Wilmington, N.C.; sisters, Esperanza George and Shnetta Corbett, both Wilmington, Patty Rutledge, Orlando; brother-in-law, Dennis (Renea) Edmondson, sister-in-law Denise (Willie) Tyson; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Harvey Edmondson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Hampton, and a cousin, Chris Gadson.

Maison Joe Hodges
Funeral service for infant Maison Joe Hodges was at 2 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2002, from the graveside at Dickson County Memorial Gardens in Dickson with Brother Jim Edens officiating. Interment icon was in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Service under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home.
Infant Maison Joe Hodges died Friday, May 17, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson.
Survivors are his parents, Danny and Connie Hodges of Dickson; grandparents, Robert and Pamela Brown of Vanleer, Grandon and Lula Heggie of McEwen, Brenda Coffer of Dickson.
He was preceded in death by a grandparent, Danny Ray Hodges.

Charles Thomas Gilbert
Funeral service for Charles Thomas Gilbert, 52, was at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2002, from the graveside at Wolf Creek cemetery in Hickman County with Brother Paul Darety officiating. Interment icon was in Wolf Creek cemetery. Service under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Gilbert died Friday, May 17, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson.
A native of Kenton, Tenn., he was the son of the late Ernest Brown and Iva DePriest Gilbert. He was a welder and a Vietnam War veteran.
Survivors include a son, Charles Gilbert, Milan, Tenn.; step-daughter, Kelly Wilkinson, Milan; brothers, John Gilbert, Dickson, Larry Gilbert, Baltimore, Md., Edward Gilbert, Fairview, Ronnie Gilbert, Hawaii; sister Zeelan Oliver, Milan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Reba Annette Nicks
Funeral service for Reba Annette Nicks, 74, was at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2002, from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Brother John Petty Murphree officiating. Interment icon was at Dickson Union cemetery,
Miss Nicks died Thursday, May 16, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson.
A native of Dickson County, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Albert and Lura Myrtice Fussell Nicks. She was a longtime registered nurse, 35 years, at the former Goodlark Hospital in Dickson. She was a 1946 graduate from Dickson High School and a graduate of Baptist Hospital nursing program. She was a member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ.
Survivors are brother, Samuel Clay Nicks and sister-in-law Earline Nicks, Dickson; nephew, Samuel Turner Nicks, also Dickson; niece, Margo Nicks Ashby, Madisonville, Ky.; two great nephews, Evan and Nicklaus Nicks Ashby.

James Austin “Shotgun” Petty
Funeral service for James Austin “Shotgun” Petty, 86, of Dickson, was at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2002, from the chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Brother Warren Medley officiating. Interment icon was at the Fews Chapel cemetery in Humphreys County.
Mr. Petty died Friday, May 17, at Horizon Medical Center.
Born in Lyles, he was the son of Myrtle Bates and Jeff Petty and was a retired lineman from Dickson Electric Company.
Survivors include his wife, Ora E. Petty; daughters, Connie Petty, Dickson, and Judy Hamrick, Dickson; granddaughter Teresa Hamrick, and great-grandson Dustin Hassell.

Joslyn M. “Peggy” Smith
Funeral service for Joslyn M. “Peggy” Smith, 76, of McEwen, was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in McEwen. Interment icon was at St. Patrick cemetery in McEwen.
Mrs. Smith died Saturday, May 18, at her home.
Mrs. Smith, a farmer and member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, was raised in Canada and lived in Humphreys County for 45 years. She was the daughter of the late Isabel Eadie and William James Scott.
Survivors include sons, Eddie Smith and Scott Smith, both McEwen; daughters, Donna Smith and Pam Smith, both Dickson, Nancy Smith, McEwen, Mary Smith, Donelson; brother, Chris Scott, Pointe Claire, Quebec, Canada; sister, Betty Ferguson, Richmond, British Columbia; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Smith, and a son, Kirk Smith.

Kay Anna Cutrell
Graveside service for infant Kay Anna Cutrell was held Monday, May 13, 2002, at 2 p.m. from the graveside in Dickson County Memorial Gardens with Brother Danny Tidwell officiating. Interment icon was in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Service under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home.
Infant Cutrell died Friday, May 10, in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
Survivors are parents Bret and Elizabeth Cutrell of Dickson; sister Amber Marie Cutrell, also of Dickson; grandparents, Curtis and Angel Hudgins of Dickson; Dawn Hudgins of Nashville; Nora Tidwell of Bon Aqua; great-grandparents Eugene and Mary Hudgins of Bon Aqua; Phinis Finch of Ashland City and Frank and Nancy Rice of Nashville; several aunts and uncles.

Raymond Holland Hafner
Funeral service for Raymond Holland Hafner, 86, was at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2002, from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Brother Tommy Webb and Brother Scott Pearl officiating. Interment icon was at St. Paul cemetery.
Mr. Hafner died Tuesday, May 14, at the Dickson County Nursing Home.
A native of Dickson County, he was the son of the late John Jacob and Emma Luke Hafner. He was a retired farmer and carpenter and a member of the Sylvia Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, Madge Burgess Hafner of Sylvia; sons, Wayne Hafner and David Hafner, both Sylvia; daughter, Susan Jane Wilkerson, Springfield; brother, Lincoln Hafner, Arkansas; six grandsons, one granddaughter, two great-grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Hafner, and two sisters, Lillie Emma Burgess and Annie Marie Rogers.
Those desiring may make memorials to the St. Paul cemetery Fund.

Freida Joyce Haley Lucas
Funeral service for Freida Joyce Haley Lucas, 69, was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2002, from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Rev. Horace Perkins officiating. Internment was at Dickson Union cemetery.
Mrs. Lucas died Tuesday, May 14, at Horizon Medical Center.
A native of Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late Dallas and Ethel Betty Lucas. She was a homemaker and mother and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors are her husband James H. Lucas, Dickson; daughters, Brenda Sensing and her husband Billy, Frances Porterfield and her husband Jack, Cathy Stiles and her husband Phillip, and Peggy Erranton and her husband David, all of Dickson; son, Russell Lucas and his wife Deanna, Charlotte; brothers, Delbert Haley, Duck River, Tenn., Doris Walker Haley, Dickson; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by a grandson, Seth Lucas.

Ida Mabel Robertson
Funeral service for Ida Mabel Robertson, 84, of Dickson, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2002, from the chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Jerry Davis officiating. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, May 17. Interment icon will follow the funeral service at Union cemetery.
Mrs. Robertson died Thursday, May 16, at Horizon Medical Center.
Born in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late Lessie Hassell and Emmett Hamilton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Dickson Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her husband, George W. Robertson, Dickson; sons, Charles Robertson, Goodlettsville, Wayne Robertson, Texas, Terry Robertson, Nashville; daughter, Joyce Hickerson, Smyrna; brothers, Grady Hamilton, Dickson, Junior Hamilton, Detroit, Mich., Bobby Hamilton, Yuma, Ariz.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Kay Anna Cutrell
Services for infant, Kay Anna Cantrell, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2002, from the graveside at Dickson County Memorial with Brother Danny Tidwell officiating. Interment icon was at Dickson County Memorial Garden.
Infant Cantrell died Friday, May 10, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Survivors are parents, Bret and Elizabeth Cantrell of Dickson; sister, Amber Marie Cantrell, Dickson; grandparents, Curtis and Angel Hudgins, Dickson, Dawn Hudgins, Nashville, Nora Tidwell, Bon Aqua; great-grandparents, Eugene and Mary Hudgins, Bon Aqua, Phinis Finch, Ashland City, and Frank and Nancy Rice, Nashville; several aunts and uncles.

Ruth Ann Hickman
Funeral services for Ruth Ann Hickman, 90, were held Saturday, May 11, 2002, at White-Ranson Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Calhoun officiating. Interment icon was at Cobbs Chapel cemetery in Hornbeak, Tenn.
Mrs. Hickman died Wednesday, May 8, at Union City Manor Nursing Home.
The daughter of the late Maggie Hayes Cleek and and Marvin Ernest Cleek, she was a machine operator at Salant & Salant garment factory and a member of Cobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons Howard Hickman and his wife Jean, Dickson, Ronnie Hickman and his wife, Jan, Tupelo, Miss.; half sisters, Opal Beachum and Dorothy Mires, both Martin, Tenn., and Grace Roles, Florida; half brother, Gilbert Cleek, Humboldt, Tenn.; grandchildren, Bobby Hickman, Atlanta, Dana Hickman, Nashville, Theresa Yenawine and Melissa Howell, Jackson, Tenn.; five great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hickman was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carlton Moody Hickman, brother Howard Cleek and grandchild Leisa Hickman.
Memorials made be made to the American Heart Association.
