John Robert Grimes
Funeral services for Mr. John Robert Grimes, 83, of Lyles, Tenn., will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2002 in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home, in Dickson. Burial will follow in the Willow Springs cemetery.
Mr. Grimes died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, in Horizon Medical Center, in Dickson. A native of Humphreys County, Tenn., he was the son of the late John Thomas Grimes and Lillie Gertrude Parker Grimes.
He was an ironworker and retired from Tennessee Casting. Mr. Grimes worked for 30 years at Tennessee Products in Wrigley, Tenn., and was a member of the Church of Christ and a veteran in World War II.
Survivors include wife, Myrtle Alene Warren Grimes, of Lyles, Tenn.; son, Robert (Bobby) Grimes Jr., and his wife, Agnes, of Lyles; daughter, Ruby Alene Dile, and her husband, Dukey, of Lyles; sister, Melva Warren, of Lyles; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four-step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Eleanor Hardigg Sneed
Memorial services for Mrs. Eleanor Hardigg Sneed, 91, of Nashville, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2002 at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 4715 Harding Road, in Nashville. West Harpeth Funeral Home & Crematory, in Nashville, is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
A native of Sewanee, Tenn., she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Sneed, and brothers, Oscar Hardigg and George W. Hardigg.
Mrs. Sneed moved to Nashville at age 16 to attend the George Peabody College for Teachers. She taught fourth and fifth grades in the Margaret Allen, Parmer and Robertson Academy in the Nashville school system in the 1930s. Mrs. Sneed was a founding member of the “This ‘N That” thrift shop, where she volunteered for many years. Other memberships and activities included The Centennial Club of Nashville, Cheekwood, the Campbell chapter of the D.A.R. and Fannie Battle Day Home.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Eleanor Sneed, of Pegram, Tenn., and Melinda Sneed Williams, of Burns, Tenn., granddaughters, Jennifer Murff, of Gatlinburg, Tenn., Melinda Murff, of Ashland City, Tenn., and Prentice Lee Brink (Penny), of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Kali Maria Pitts, Emma Lawson Blackwelder and Thomas Mason Blackwelder; sisters, Katherine Schiro and Marie Aswell, of California; extended family, Adelaide Crawford, George Albert Murff, Joseph H. Hodgson Jr., Vanessa C. Hodgson and Donald L. (Scotty) Brink.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to the St. Luke’s Community Center, 5601 New York Ave., Nashville, Tenn., 37209.

Herman Monroe Jones
Funeral services for Mr. Herman Monroe Jones, 87, of Waverly, Tenn., formerly of Dickson, Tenn., will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, in the chapel of the Dickson Funeral Home, with Warren Medley officiating. Burial will follow in the Edgewood cemetery.
Mr. Jones died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002 at Waverly Health Center, in Waverly, Tenn. A native of Dickson County, he was the son of the late Hautie Murphy Jones and Arthur Jones.
Survivors include wife, Amanda Williams Jones, of Waverly; stepson, Larry Williams, of Waverly; stepdaughter, Barbara Hendrix, of Franklin, Tenn.; brothers, Noland Jones, of Maryville, Ill., Paul Jones, of Dickson; sisters, Ila Bellar, Annie Coleman, Opal Smith, Minnie Jones and Louise Loma, all of Dickson; six stepgrandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews.

Joseph Chandler Williams
Graveside services for infant Joseph Chandler Williams were held at noon Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002 in the Nickel cemetery, with Mark Horsley officiating. Taylor Funeral Home, in Dickson, Tenn., handled the arrangements.
Infant Joseph Chandler Williams was born and died Aug. 27, 2002. He is survived by his parents, Brett Allen Williams and Sandra Petrowski Williams, of Hickman County, Tenn.; a brother, David Williams; grandparents, John and Pat Petrowski, of Mississippi, Cheryl McGraw, of Dickson; great-grandparents, Bill and Margie Perkins, of Bon Aqua, Tenn.; uncle John Edward, of Centerville, Tenn., and his wife Jera; cousins, Jacob and Morgan.

Edwin Eurie Allbert
Funeral services for Mr. Edwin Eurie Allbert, 79, of White Bluff, Tenn., were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 13, 2002 at the White Bluff Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home, with Bro. Terry Bright officiating. Burial followed in the Nosegay cemetery.
Mr. Allbert died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at National Health Care, in Dickson. A native of Dickson County, he was the son of the late Vester Allbert and Era Storey. He was a carpenter for the veteran’s hospital.
Survivors include daughters, Bernice McGraw, of White Bluff, Linda Hayes, of Charlotte, Tenn.; stepdaughter, Jewel Dunlap, of Dickson, Tenn.; brothers, Raymond Allbert, of White Bluff, Alex Lee Allbert, of Dickson; sisters, Mary Johnson, Dorothy Long, both of White Bluff; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Hallie Davidson Donegan
Funeral services for Mrs. Hallie Davidson Donegan, 92, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home, in Dickson, Tenn., with Bro. Warren Medley officiating. Burial followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Donegan died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002 in National Health Care Center, in Dickson. A native of Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late Dickson and Ines Holland Davidson. In addition, her husband, Clint S. Donegan, also preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Dickson.
Survivors include daughters, Nancy Petty, and her husband Glenn, Montie Field and her husband, Jim, all of Dickson; sister, Elva Ruth Jackson, of Nashville; grandchildren, Sherry Green, and her husband Rev. Ron Green, of Princeton, Ky., Dr. Monica Black, and her husband, Dr. Joe Black, of Knoxville, Tenn., Patrick Petty, and his wife, Rhea, of Murfreesboro; Timothy Petty, and his wife, Gina, Michael Petty, and his wife, Andrea, of Dickson; great-grandchildren, Will, Anna Claire, Brennan and Jordan Rhea Petty, Lyndsey and Tyler Green, Laurel, Joseph and Grace Black.
The family asks that any memorials be made to the charity of your choice or to the Piney River Church of Christ.

Dewey C. Donn
Funeral services for Dewey C. Donn, 44, of White Bluff, Tenn., were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, with Rev. Denny Shepard officiating. Burial followed in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
Mr. Donn died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002.
Survivors include wife, Jane Donn, of White Bluff; son, Michael McGee, and his wife, Christy, of LaVergne, Tenn.; brothers, William F. Waller, of Dickson; Larson Waller, of Sugar Tree, Tenn., Joseph M. Donn, of White Bluff; sister, Tiny C. Polk, of Nashville; three stepchildren; two grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren.

Norma Lee Halfacre
Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Lee Halfacre, 69, of Hohenwald, Tenn., will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002 at McDonald Funeral Home, in Centerville, Tenn., with Artie Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens cemetery, in Centerville.
Mrs. Halfacre died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002 at home. A native of Lyles, Tenn., she was the daughter of Clarence Canady and Eugene Plunkett. She was a seamstress in a garment factory and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include husband, Cordell Halfacre, of Hohenwald; daughters, Brenda McCord, of Lyles, Sherrie Griffin, of White Bluff, Tenn.; sisters, Carol, of Nashville, Virginia Parker, Shirley Mohan, both of Dickson; brothers, Douglas Canady, of Centerville, and Ralph Canady, of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Kayla Josephine McBride
Graveside services for Miss Kayla Josephine McBride, 11, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002 at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with Bro Dennis Bailey and Rev. Dave Deerman officiating.
Miss McBride died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002.
Survivors include her mother, Tammy McBride; sisters, Melissa Cox, and her husband, Ben, of White Bluff, and Erin McBride; brothers, Tyler W., Cole and Jesse McBride; grandparents, Charles Parsons, and his wife, Vivien, of Oklahoma, and Betty McBride.

Carley Devin Grove
Funeral services for infant Carley Devin Grove, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson, Tenn., with Gary Hargrove officiating. Burial will follow in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
Infant Carley Devin Grove died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002 in Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Laura and Leonard Holley.
Survivors include parents, Casey and Rebekah Williams Grove, of Burns, Tenn.; paternal grandparents, Tammy and Marshall Sullivan, of Dickson; Jeff and Ann Grove, of Tallahassee, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Danny and Terry Williams, of Dickson; several aunts and uncles; great-grandparents, Clara Grove, of Charlotte, Tenn.; Shot and Janie Grove, of Burns, Tenn., Bill and Eula Batey, also of Burns; Jerry and Laverne Huggins, of Columbus, Ohio; Maxine Baker of Dickson.

Mary Ruth Webb Hasley
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ruth Webb Hasley, 76, were held at 11 a.m. Oct. 24, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home, in Dickson, Tenn., with Randall Hasley officiating. Burial followed in Union cemetery in Dickson.
Mrs. Hasley died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002 in Wythe County Community Hospital, in Wytheville, Va. A native of Dickson County, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Axie Burns Webb. Her husband Edward Eugene Hasley, a daughter, Sherron Jean Dean, a grandson, Stephen Wayne Hasley, and a brother Melvin Webb, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughter, Vivian Dunford, and her husband Gerald, of Austinville, Va.; sons, Wayne Hasley, and his wife, Marie, of Austinville, Steven Hasley, and his wife, Janet, Garry Hasley, and his wife, Sherry, of Wytheville, Va., and Larry Hasley, also of Wytheville, Va.; sisters, Elva Hodges, of Dickson, Margaret Hodges, of Southland, Michigan; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; several step-great-grandchidlren; several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy Alberta Manley
Graveside services for Mrs. Dorothy Alberta Manley, 89, of Charlotte, Tenn., will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2002 with Rev. Bill Barger officiating. Dickson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Manley died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002 at Centennial Medical Center, in Nashville. A native of Dickson County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Maskey Ray and Bessie Locke Ray. Mrs. Manley was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, David R. Manley, of Charlotte, Tenn., Phillip Manley, of Dickson, Tenn., and Carl Steven Manley, of Charlotte; daughters, Betsy Lubs, of Athens, Ga., Judy Anne Manley, of Charlotte; sisters, Alene Ray and Florence DeLisle, of Dickson; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Agnes Elaine Dawson Shockley
Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Elaine Dawson Shockley, 84, were Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, with Bro. Darrell Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
Visitation with the family will be 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. Nephews and friends will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the elders and deacons of Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ.
Mrs. Dawson died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002. She was a retired employee of Cain Sloan and a member of Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ.
Her parents, John S. and Sallie E. Dawson and her husband, Gerald E. Shockley, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughter, Judith E. Shockley; sister, Naomi Gunn; numerous nieces and nephews; chosen grandchildren, Jonna R. McCracken and Michael D. Rice.
