Stanley Neal Bonee
Funeral services for Stanley Neal Bonee, 49, were held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002 at Cheatham County Funeral Home. Bro. William J. Fowler officiated. Burial followed in Sweeney cemetery in Ashland City, Tenn.
Mr. Bonee died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002. He was the son of Jo Anita Bonee, of Charlotte, Tenn., and the late Don N. Bonee.
In addition to his mother, several cousins, aunts and uncles also survive him. Pallbearers included Jason White, Norman Roberts, Dan McDonald and David Trevino.

Robert Layton Burgess
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Layton Burgess, 84, of Dickson, Tenn., were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002 at Dickson Funeral Home. Dr. Jim Chatham and Bro. Roy West officiated. Burial followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Burgess died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002 at NHC Health Car, in Dickson. A native of Dickson County, he was the son of the late Nellie Melton and Robert I. Burgess. Mr. Burgess was a retired farmer.
Survivors include wife, Hazel Estel Burgess; daughter, Linda Jenkins, of Antioch, and her husband, Gary; grandchildren, Melissa Bowers, and her husband, Kurt, Wesley Jenkins, Nancy Karen Vanhoozier, and her husband, Eric; a great-grandchild, Austin Vanhoozier.

Emma Lee Gill Pate
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Lee Gill Pate, 81, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home, in Dickson, Tenn. Bro. Jim Morgan and Bro. Lytle Jones officiated. Burial followed in the Freudenthal cemetery near Sylvia, Tenn.
Mrs. Pate died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. A native of Dickson, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Emma Richardson Gill and a member of the Vanleer Church of Christ.
Survivors include husband, Henry Daniel Pate, of Vanleer; son, Daniel Hugh Pate, of Dickson; daughters, Beulah May Fitzgerald, of Nashville, Margaret Montgomery, of Dickson, Carolyn Pate Balentine, of Cumberland City, Tenn.; brothers, Coy Gill, Ernie Gill, both of Michigan; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Samuel John Pesz
Funeral services for Mr. Samuel John Pesz, 85, of Kingston Springs, Tenn., will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2002 at Dickson Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Duke officiating. Burial will follow in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation with the family will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002 at Dickson Funeral Home.
Mr. Pesz died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002 at NHC healthcare facility, in Dickson. A native of McHenry, Ill., he was the son of the late Samuel Kenneth Pesz and Justyna Koliczeo. Mr. Pesz was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Survivors include wife, Cora Mae Pesz, of Kingston Springs; sons, Jerrold Pesz, of Kingston Springs, Ray Pesz, of Nashville, Kimmyth Pesz, of Burns, Tenn.; brother, Harry Pesz, of Island Lake, Ill.; sisters, Tina Davis, Julie Dumaski, both of Island Lake; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Austin Douglas (Doug) Robertson Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Austin Douglas (Doug) Robertson Jr., 55, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home. Bros. Jim Morgan and Robert Cullom officiated. Burial followed in the Vanleer cemetery.
Mr. Robertson died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002 in Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. A native of Vanleer, he was the son of Austin Douglas Robertson Sr, and the late Emma Bell Carroll Robertson. He was a department manager for Interstate Packaging, a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served in the Vietnam War and a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to his father, he is survived by a son, Brandon Douglas Robertson, of Nashville; daughter, Misty Dawn Rose, of Dickson; brother, Larry Wayne Robertson, of Vanleer; sister, Wanda Robertson Cowan, of Madison; grandchildren, Amanda Lashlee, Paige Lashlee and Kassidy Robertson; several nieces and nephews.

Sara Ellen Vaughn
Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Ellen Vaughn, 83, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002 at Wilkinson and Wiseman Funeral Home, in Portland, Tenn. Bro. Carter Elmore officiated. Burial followed in Maple Hill cemetery, in Portland.
Mrs. Vaughn died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002 at her home in Bon Aqua, Tenn. A native of Sumner County, she was the daughter of William Edmond and Pearnie Graves McGuffie.
Survivors include sons, Donnie Vaughn, of Nashville, Horace Dean Lamberth, of Bon Aqua; daughter, Virginia Ellen Messick, of Bon Aqua; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.

Ruby Inez Hayes Vaughn
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Inez Hayes Vaughn, 65, were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 4, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home, in Dickson, Tenn. Rev. Robert Spurgeon officiated. Burial followed in the Jackson’s Chapel cemetery.
Mrs. Hayes died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002 at National Health Care in Dickson. A native of Dickson County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Bertha Spann Hayes. Her husband, Herbert Junior Vaughn also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include sons, Mike Vaughn, of Southside, Tenn., Kenny Vaughn, of Charlotte, Tenn.; daughter, Angela Vaughn, of Lexington, S.C.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Frances L. Anderson
Funeral services for Ms. Frances L. Anderson, 83, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home, in Dickson, Tenn., with Bob Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the J. Warren cemetery in Humphreys County.
Mrs. Anderson died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 at Centennial Medical Center, of Ashland City, Tenn. A native of Humphreys County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse L. Anderson Sr. and Clara Moore Anderson. Her sisters, Elsie Mai and Thelma, brothers, Elmer, Edgar and Jesse Jr., brothers-in-law, Clay French, Harold Rowland and Earl Spaulding and a niece, Sharon McWright, also preceded her in death.
Ms. Anderson was a retired secretary with National Life Insurance Co. with 29 years of service and a member of the Pegram Church of Christ.
Survivors include three brothers, Grover Anderson, and his wife, Lorena, William T. Anderson, and his wife, Margaret, Paul W. Anderson, and his wife, Joyce, all of Pegram, Tenn.; two sisters, Sue French, Lake Tahoe, Calif., Maxine Spaulding, of Pegram; sisters-in-law, Alice of Camden, Tenn., Sophie, of Dickson, Bobbie June, of Kingston Springs, Tenn.; 11 nieces; 16 nephews; many, many great-nieces and great-nephews and families.
Those desiring, memorials may be made to the J. Warren cemetery, 342 Mill Road, New Johnsonville, Tenn., 37134.

Gladys Adams Gilmore
Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Adams Gilmore, 88, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home, in Dickson, Tenn., with Dr. Jim Chatham and Rev. Horace Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Dickson Union cemetery.
Mrs. Gilmore died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 at West Meade Place, in Nashville. Her husband, William Bell Gilmore and her parents, Arthur M. and Azelee Lovett Adams preceded her in death.
She was a clerk with the United States Department of Agriculture (ASCA) and a member of a First Baptist Church. Mrs. Gilmore was also a member of NARF and the White Bluff Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include sons, James B. Gilmore, and his wife, Lucy Elizabeth, of London, England, Douglas C. Gilmore, and his wife, Winifred, of Nashville; brother, Billy M. Adams, of Bowling Green, Ky.; sister, Juanita Patterson, of Donelson, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Mary and Bill Gilmore and Kelly Potter; three stepgrandchildren, John Mason Houghland, Calvin Houghland and Charlie Holcomb.

Sterling Holt
Funeral services for Mr. Sterling Holt, 76, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002 at Taylor Funeral Home, in Dickson, Tenn., with Rev. David Deavers officiating. Burial followed in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Holt died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002 at home, in Bon Aqua, Tenn. A native of Hickman County, Tenn., he was the son of the late George Thomas Holt and Ora Tidwell Holt. Mr. Holt was a farmer and an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked at the Livestock Center for 26 years and a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Luradean Reed Holt, of Bon Aqua; son, Jerry, also of Bon Aqua; brother, Dr. Stanley Holt, and his wife, Sandra, of Asheville, N.C.; sister, Mary Ruth Orgain, and her husband, Dick, of Dickson; grandson, Sean, and his wife, Melissa, of Bon Aqua; great-grandchild, Katie.
Those desiring, memorials may be made to Hospice of Tennessee.

Louise M. Melton
Graveside services for Ms. Louise M. Melton, 87, of Nashville, formerly of Dickson, Tenn., were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at Union cemetery. Dickson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Ms. Melton died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 at West Meade Place, in Nashville. A native of Dickson, Tenn., she was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Melton and Lucille Estes. Ms. Melton was a salesperson for Harvey’s Department Store.
Survivors include niece, Mary Lou Dielschnieder, of Portland, Ore.; nephews, Richard Turner, of Griffin, Ga., Bob Melton, of San Diego, Calif., Ted Melton, of Burns, Tenn.

Marjorie Nadine Murrell
Funeral services for Mrs. Marjorie Nadine Murrell, 81, of Bon Aqua, Tenn., were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 at Spann Funeral Home, with Rev. Bob Hammer and Rev. Ken Clark officiating.
Mrs. Murrell died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002 at NHC, in Dickson, Tenn. A longtime resident of Dickson County and a native of Humphreys County, she was preceded in death by her parents, John M. and Lizzie Jane Henry Mallady and husbands, Van J. Mitchell and James “Ben” Murrell.
She was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church and well known for her hobbies of gardening and sewing. Mrs. Murrell was a loving mother and a grandmother.
Survivors include sons, Van Mitchell, and his wife, Susan, Larry Murrell, and his wife, Brenda, Jerry Murrell, Tim Murrell, and his wife, Melanie, all of Bon Aqua; daughters, JoAnn Davidson, and her husband, Clifford, of Bon Aqua, Elaine Blaine, and her husband, Gary, of Ridgeland, Miss.; 17 grandchildren, Lois Lewis, Patty Dunn, Carla Davidson, Lisa Murrell, Crystal Tipton, Stephen Murrell, Rosie Murrell, Richie Mitchell, Ronnie Mitchell, Rusty Mitchell, Nikki Mitchell, Chris Murrell, Stephanie Murrell, Jennifer Hedrick, Charles Murrell, Jeff Crump, Miranda Crump; five great-grandchildren, Samantha Murrell, Haley Murrell, Benjamin Murrell, Katey Murrell, Briar Tipton.

Ramona Knight
Funeral services for Mrs. Ramona Knight, 61, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002 at the Pond Presbyterian Church, in Dickson, Tenn., with Bro. Paul Picard officiating. Burial followed in the Adams cemetery. Taylor Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002 at home, in Dickson. A native of Macon County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Randolph Weldon Knight and Agnes Patterson Knight. She was an executive secretary/CPS for J.B. Miller Inc. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include husband, Lewis D. Smith, of Dickson; son, Lewis Dean Smith II, and his wife, Kim, of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter, Sabrina Smith Hooper, and her husband, Larry, of Central City, Ky.; brother, Jerry Randall Knight, and his wife, Kay, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; sister, Czarine Knight Farmer, and her husband, Thomas, of Smyrna, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Amy, James, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Kristyn, Maradith, Cassie and Robert Lewis.
