John Henry Morgan
Mr. John Henry Morgan, 74, of Only, died April 24, 2004 at Meharry Medical Center. His remains were cremated. Arrangements were handled by Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Morgan was born August 30, 1929 in Hickman County.
Survivors include his sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Berlin and Mrs. Dovie Smith, both of Dickson.

Lurton Baggett
Funeral services for Mr. Lurton Baggett, 90, are 1 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2004 at Slayden Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Bateman officiating. Interment icon follows in Slayden Baptist Church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Baggett, a native of Montgomery County, died Sunday, April 25, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He was a farmer and a sawmill worker. He was a member of Slayden Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Loyde Baggett and his wife, Dorthy, of Slayden and Ernest Gwin Baggett and his wife, Linda, of Big Rock; daughter, Jane Jones and her husband, Johnny, of Cumberland Furnace; daughter-in-law, Esther Cherry Baggett of Slayden; son-in-law, John E. Fletcher of Clarksville; sister, Bessie Pardue of Gallatin; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maybell Groves Baggett; son, Harold Ray Baggett; daughter, Doye Frances Fletcher; granddaughter, Tina Baggett; and parents, Joseph Franklin Baggett and Sally Simmons Baggett.

Mattie Lucille Appleton Brooks
Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Lucille Appleton Brooks, 90, were noon Monday, April 26, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Calvin Parker officiating. Interment icon followed in Scott cemetery in Cheatham County.
Mrs. Brooks, a retired beauty operator, died Saturday, April 24, 2004 at National Health Care Center in Dickson. A native of Dickson County, she was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sisters, Etta Speck and Rachel Roland, both of White Bluff, and Jean Mallory of Dickson; several nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Kenneth Woodard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Appleton, and her parents, William Henry and Maude Eve Cathey Baker.

F. Roy Collins
A funeral mass for Mr. F. Roy Collins Jr., 77, was 11 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2004 from St. Christopher’s Catholic Church with Father Stephen Gideon officiating. Interment icon followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Arrangements handled by Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Collins, born in Trenton, N.C., died at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson Tuesday, April 20, 2004. He was a retired financial manager with the former Schrader Automotive Products, a Division of Scovill Inc.
He was a veteran with the U.S. Army Air Corp in World War II and a graduate of the University of North Carolina. He was a member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was active in civic affairs, having served as president of the Elkins, North Carolina Jaycees and Dickson Lions Club, which he was a member at his death.
Survivors include his sons, Mike Collins of Dickson, and David Collins and wife, Donna, all of Dickson; daughter, Martha Duke and husband, Dale, of Dickson; brothers, Greg Collins of Elkins, N.C., and Joe Collins of Clermont, Fla.; grandchildren, Jessie and Joey Hinch, Andrea and Marie Duke, all of Dickson; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Privette Collins, who died in 1985, and parents, F. Roy Collins Sr. and Agnes Monk Collins.
Memorials may be made to St. Christopher’s Catholic Church expansion fund.

Mabel Turner Cotton
Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Turner Cotton, 80, were 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Harold Petty officiating. Graveside services were 1 p.m. from Mt. Hope cemetery in Franklin.
Mrs. Cotton, born in Warren County, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of West Dickson Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son, Byron Cotton of Dickson; four daughters, Joyce Bizzell of College Grove, Elaine Beard of Cumberland Furnace, Carolyn Qualls of Dickson and Annette Davidson of Columbia; brother, Floyd Turner of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Denzel Cotton; son, Billy Cotton; two grandsons; and her parents, Isaac Turner and Octi Pearl Crouch Turner.
Memorials may be made to Camp Leatherwood.

Martha Mary Dunnagan
Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Mary “Mickie” Dunnagan, 71, were 2 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Howard Alexander and Jimmy Noland officiating. Interment icon followed in Dickson Union cemetery.
Mrs. Dunnagan, a retired produce manager with the former Garton’s Grocery, died Friday, April 23, 2004 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
Survivors include her son, William Paul Dunnagan and his wife, Debbie, of Dickson; daughters, Priscilla Jane Petty and her husband, Donald Eugene, and Pam Kimbro and her husband, David, all of Dickson, and Brenda Sanders and her husband, Lonnie, of Burns; brothers, George Kostelecky of Mandan, N.D., and Edward Kostelecky of Dickinson, N.C.; sisters, Mildred Dukart of Billings, Mont., and Elise Hage of Dickinson, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Dunnagan; parents, Joseph Kostelecky and Christina Pavlish Kostelecky; and brothers, Albert and Charles Kostelecky.

Larry Edward Hayes
Graveside services for Mr. Larry Edward Hayes, 48, were 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004 from Hayes cemetery near Vanleer with Brother Scott Pearl officiating. Service was under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Hayes, born in Detroit, Mich., to Edward Mack and Annie Louise Worley Hayes died Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at his home in Lyles, Tenn. He was a restaurant employee with Pizza Hut. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two brothers, Glen Ray Hayes of Lyles, Tenn. and Kenneth Joe Hayes of Ashland City, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Mack and Annie Louise Worley Hayes.

James Clarence Hooper
Funeral services for James Clarence “Bud” Hooper, 80, were 1 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004 from the chapel of Luff Bowen Funeral Home in McEwen with Rev. Kenny Young officiating. Interment icon followed in Curtis Chapel cemetery in McEwen.
Mr. Hooper, of McEwen, was born Nov. 18, 1923 in McEwen. He died Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He was a retired construction worker after 33 years for McAlistar Construction Co. He was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Burlison.
Survivors include three sons, Danny Joe Hooper and wife, Sharon, and Anthony Ray Hooper and wife, Susie, all of Tuscon, Ariz., and James Carter Hooper and wife, Brenda, of Peru, Ind.; daughter, Janie Marie Brigode and husband, Auggie, of Tuscon, Ariz.; brothers, Sam Hooper of Bon Aqua and Nathaniel “Tweet” Hooper of McEwen; sisters, Hazel Musser of Ashland City and Nancy Hooper of Brentwood; devoted cousin, Ellawease King of McEwen; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louella Carter Hooper; parents, Silas Daniel and Lassie Scarlett Hooper; brother, Pete Hooper; and sisters, Edith Hooper Strong and Peggy Hooper Beecham.

Doris L. McQueen
Funeral services for Mrs. Doris L. McQueen, 79, were 11 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2004 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home in Connersville, Ind., with her grandson, Michael Richardson of Central Church of Christ in Charlotte, officiating. Interment icon followed in Everton cemetery in Fayette County, Ind.
Mrs. McQueen, of Connersville, Ind. was born August 4, 1924 in Cheatham County. She died Friday, April 23, 2004 at her residence. She was a graduate of Ashland City Central High and a member of Connersville Church of Christ. She loved spending time with all her family and enjoyed gardening, flowers and playing the guitar when she was younger.
Survivors include her daughter, Eileen Richardson and her husband, Don Richardson, of Charlotte; sons, Glen McQueen and his wife, Debbie, Bill McQueen, Roy McQueen and Ellis McQueen, all of Connersville; three brothers and their spouses, Leonard and Wanda Crouch, Bill and Shirley Crouch and Eugene and Carolyn Crouch, all of Ashland City; three sisters, Dorothy Patton of Nashville, June Nixon and her husband, Earl, of Ashland City, and Janie Foutch of Nashville; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W.M. and Leonta Hooper Church; husband, George McQueen; son, Charlie McQueen; sister, Vivian Raines; and niece, Pam Nixon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.

Howard Arthur Potts
Funeral services for Mr. Howard Arthur Potts, 57, were 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Brother Ralph Taylor officiating. Interment icon followed in Taylor Town cemetery in White Bluff.
Mr. Potts, a construction worker and member of the Church of Christ, died Sunday, April 25, 2004 in Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Potts of Lobelville and Ryan Potts of Ashland City; brothers, Bernice Potts of White Bluff and Warner Ray Potts of Springfield; sister, Gloria Bellar of Vanleer; grandchildren, Sean Potts and Tyler Potts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Leo and Willadean Hall Potts.

Verdie Lee Stacey Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. Verdie Lee Stacey, Sr., 76, were 11 a.m., Monday, April 26, 2004 at Spann Funeral Home in Dickson. Interment icon followed in Taylor Town cemetery in White Bluff.
Mr. Stacey, of Waverly, died Friday, April 23, 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Velva Stacey of Waverly; sons, Lee Stacey and his wife, Tammy, of Pegram, and Kevin Stacey and his wife, Buffy, of Dickson; daughters, Sandra Welch and her husband, Ray, of White Bluff, Sue Hardy of North Carolina; Sherry Nicholson and husband, Phillip, of Dickson, and Shelly Miles and husband, William, of White Bluff; brothers, Fred Stacey of White Bluff and Wade Stacey of Charlotte; sister, Zola Hall of White Bluff; special niece, Edna Huff of White Bluff; 12 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-step-grandchildren.
Family requests donations be made to Alive Hospice in Camden.

Lisa Ann Sutton
Memorial services for Mrs. Lisa Ann Sutton, 38, of Charlotte, were 2 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2004 from Lee’s Chapel Church of Christ with Bro. Wayne Shelby officiating. Her remains were cremated. Arrangements were handled by Taylor Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sutton, a machine operator with Red Kap Industries, died Friday, April 23, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. She was born in Montgomery County. She was a member of Lee’s Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Tony Sutton of Charlotte; mother, Frances Swaw Harrell of Cunningham; five brothers, Ricky Swaw, Dale Swaw, Mike Swaw, all of Cunningham, Joey Swaw of Vanleer and Keith Swaw of Charlotte; sisters, Pam Auge, Hope Rittenberry and Teresa Haslam, all of Cunningham.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lacy Wayne “Tom” Swaw and her sister, Linda Sue Cobb.
