John James Turpen
Funeral services for Mr. John James Turpen, 87, were 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004 from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Rev. Lewis Bratton and Rev. Roy West officiating. Interment
followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Turpen, born in Henry County to James Reuben and Sally Young Oliver Turpen, died Sunday, June 6, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He was a retired owner and operator of the former Turpen’s Grocery in Big Sandy. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving in the European Theatre. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dickson.
Survivors include his wife, Eddie Mae Brewer Turpen of Dickson; daughter, Becky Turpen Cagle of Dickson; grandsons, Clint Allen Cagle and his fiancée, Laurie Johnson, and Mark Wayne Cagle and his wife, Nicki; brother, Charles Turpen of Clarksville; sisters, Sarena Underwood of Paris and Frances Wachholz of Columbus, Ohio.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
Esther Williams
Graveside services for Mrs. Esther M. Williams, 71, were 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at Jarman Farm cemetery in Slayden with Rev. Dreyar Morton officiating. Dickson Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Mrs. Williams of Livonia, Mich., was born in Dickson County Jan. 31, 1933. She died June 1 in Livonia, Mich.
Survivors include her sons, Donald J. Williams and James Williams and wife, Christine, all of Thompson Station; brothers, Edgar, Carl, Corbin, Ima Jr., Tony, Ralph and Lester Jarman; sisters, Ada Leagan and Dorothy Miller; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ima Jarman, Sr. and Kattie Waynick Jarman
Johnie Ezell Woodard
Funeral services for Johnie Ezell Woodard, 69, were 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Steve Baggett and Bro. Clarence DeLoach officiating. Interment
followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Woodard, former owner of Heritage House Antiques and a retired steamfitter with 20 years service with TVA, died Monday, June 7, 2004 at National Health Care Center in Dickson. He attended Freed-Hardeman College and Middle Tennessee State University. He was a member of Walnut Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Harwell Woodard of Dickson; sons, Mark Woodard and his wife, Dusty, of Johnson City and Scott Woodard and his wife, Karon, of Dickson; daughter, Amy Woodard Vaughan and her husband, John, of Franklin; six grandchildren, Zachary, Emily, Cooper, Tess, Sarah and Annabeth; and sisters, Elnora West of Columbia and Marie Rogers of Tullahoma.

Connie Allbert
Funeral services for Mrs. Connie Kay McCoy Allbert, 56, are 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Brother Ralph Taylor officiating. Interment
will follow in Williams cemetery in White Bluff.
Mrs. Allbert died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Born in Dickson County, she was the activities assistant at Lake Shore Meadows in Bellevue. She attended Chapel Hill Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son, Robert “Dean” (Jill) Allbert of White Bluff; daughter, Crissy (Steve) Cole of White Bluff; mother, Clara Fogus McCoy of Dickson; brother, Ronnie McCoy of White Bluff; grandchildren, Reed Allbert, Raigan Allbert, Dylan Cole and Allison Cole; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Allbert; and father, Malcolm McCoy.
John Cooksey
Memorial services for John W. Cooksey, 74, are 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004 at Stone’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Cumberland Furnace. His remains were cremated. Arrangements are being handled by Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Cooksey, born in Montgomery County, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004 in Hillcrest Nursing Home in Ashland City. He was a farmer and a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include nieces, nephews and friends, including Viola Edmondson of Cumberland Furnace and Cynthia Guice and Ron Mallory, both of Dickson.
Terryll Lynn Deam Haro
Memorial services for Mrs. Terryll Lynn Deam Haro, 34, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 from First United Methodist Church in Yankton, S.D. Her remains were cremated. Arrangements are being handled by Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson.
Mrs. Haro, born in Rapid City, S.D., died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. She attended public schools in Yankton, S.D., during elementary and junior high years. She completed her high school education at Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Fairbault, Minn., in 1988.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff Haro; daughters, MacKenzie and Tabor, both of Burns; son, Dane of Burns; mother, Barbara Kadous of Phoenix, Ariz.; father, William Deam of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Michelle Waller of Denver, Colo., and Jennifer Martinez of Fairfield, Calif.; brother, James Deam II of Phoenix, Ariz.,; maternal grandparents, William and Marjory Maxon of Yankton, S.D.; paternal grandparents, Dale and Jacie Green of Hot Springs, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her biological father, Jeffrey Dale Green.

Mr. Lampley, who was born in Dickson County, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie C. Lampley of Bon Aqua; son, Ronnie Lampley of Tennessee City; stepson, Robert (Christy) Tidwell of Lyles; daughter, Barbara (Dwight) Corlew of White Bluff; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Ester Lankford Lampley.

Mrs. Sullens was born in Waverly. She was a housewife and she was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include daughters, Joyce Tidwell of Bon Aqua, Betty J. Spann of Charlotte and Edith Lee Williams of Houston, Texas; sister, Dorothy Lomax of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Clifton Sullens; parents, Roy James and Mattie Ingram; and son, Thomas Ray Sullens.
Martha “Tencie” Hall

Mrs. Hall of Fairview died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 at NHC Healthcare of Dickson. She was born April 22, 1908 in Putnam County.
Survivors include her son, Joseph Franklin Hall of Bon Aqua; daughters, Beulah Leverette and Lucille Howell of Fairview; half brothers, George Graham of Nolensville, Winston Graham of Nashville and Richard Graham of Donelson; half sisters, Margie Moore of Nashville, Elsie Young of Sparta and Ruth Tucker of Nashville; 21 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mary Lyell Larkins

Mrs. Larkins, the widow of the late Doyle Larkins, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004 at NHC in Dickson. She was a retired beauty operator with the former Ruby’s Beauty Shop. She was a member of Walnut Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include a sister, Doris Lyell of Dickson; nephew, Earl McCorpin of Dickson; niece, Mildred Jones of Dickson; and adopted family, Brenda and Larry “Chicken” Myatt of Dickson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Larkins; son, Mike Larkins; and sister, Edna Lyell.
Ruth Richardson Roberson

Mrs. Roberson of McEwen (Poplar Grove community) died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. She was born June 27, 1933 in Davidson County. She was employed in housekeeping at Horizon Medical Center.
Survivors include her brother, Charles Miles and his wife, Gayla of McEwen; sister, Shirley Williams and her husband, Norman of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Minnie Miles; and husband, Ronald (Doc) Roberson; and brother, Joe Miles.

Mrs. Smith, widow of Earl Webb Smith, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 at NHC in Dickson. She was the daughter of the late Henry Michael and Nancy Gafford Spann. She was born in Dickson County. She was a retired machine operator with the former Red Kap Garment Company. She was a member of Walnut Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Henry and Judy Hodi, both of Dickson; grandchildren, Mike Henry of Dickson, Brenda Henry of Nashville, Louie Hodi III and his wife, Christine of New Jersey, Stephen Hodi and his wife, Nancy of Dickson, Lisa Hodi Genovese and her husband, Les J. of New Jersey; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Henry of Maryland, Drew Henry of Dickson, Louie Hodi IV, Arthur Hodi and Amanda Smith, all of New Jersey, Stephen Michael Hodi and Maghan Elizabeth Hodi, both of Dickson; sister-in-law, Annie Corinne Llewellyn of Dickson; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Webb Smith; parents, Henry Michael and Nancy Gafford Spann; nine brothers and sisters, including her last sister, Ollie Parker, who passed away one month ago.
