Funeral services for Austen Lee Batey, 23, were 3 p.m. Monday, Oct.18, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Brother David Peeler officiating. Interment icon followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Batey, a ramp agent with Southwest Airlines in Nashville, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 in Cheatham County. He was a 2000 graduate of Dickson County High School.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy Leigh Leavenworth Batey of White Bluff; parents, Franklin and Wanda Daugherty Batey of White Bluff; brother, Corey Beasley Batey of White Bluff; paternal grandparents, Robert and Sara Batey of Charlotte; maternal grandparents, J.C. and Elizabeth Daugherty of White Bluff; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Myrtle Donegan Bissinger

Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Donegan Bissinger, 89, are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004 at Dickson Funeral Home with Hal A. Rehorn Jr. officiating. Interment icon will follow in Union cemetery. Visitation will be Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Bissinger was born in Dickson County March 29, 1915. She died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Ashland City.

Survivors include her son-in-law, James N. Ashley of Nashville; granddaughters, Sherry Herald and husband, Van of Nashville and Johnna Hunter of Hermitage; great-granddaughter, Ashley Shake and husband, Brian of Spring Hill; great-great grandsons, Rayce and Tanner Shake; three half-sisters; and two other great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh M. Bissinger; son, John L. Bissinger; and daughter, Euzella Ashley.

Kimberly Sue Scott Burrow

Funeral services for Mrs. Kimberly Sue Scott Burrow, 39, were 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Rev. Roy West officiating. Interment icon followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Burrow, secretary with Porcelain Industries, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She was born in Lansing, Mich.

Survivors include her husband, Robbie Burrow of Dickson; mother and step-father, Barbara and Arthur Robert Hummell of Kingston Springs; step-daughter, Robbie Lynn Burrow of Dickson; sister, Leslie Ann Goff and her husband, Michael of Franklin; four nieces, one nephew and one great-niece.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edmond Leslie Beach.

Callie Belle Schmittou Hayes

Funeral services for Mrs. Callie Belle Schmittou Hayes, 79, were 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Rev. Bryan Russell officiating. Interment icon followed in Hayes cemetery in Slayden.

Mrs. Hayes, a retired cook at Paris Landing State Park, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004 at Vanderbilt Hospital. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include her husband, James Warren Harding Hayes; sons, Sam Hayes of Murfreesboro and Dewey Hayes of Titusville, Fla.; daughters, Letty Long of Hermitage, Donna Price of Burlington, N.C., and Dianne Boylan of Virginia Beach, Va.; half brother, Thomas Schmittou of Michigan; half sister, Bertha Joyce of Michigan; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Von Schmittou and Lettie Mae Bull Von Schmittou.

Dorothy Sue Spann Madden

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Sue Spann Madden, 76, were 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Brother Robert Cullom officiating. Her remains were conveyed to Westland, Mich., for burial on Tuesday in Cadillac Memorial cemetery. Mrs. Madden, a homemaker and widow of the late Raymond Alexander Madden, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. She was a member of the White Bluff Church of Christ.

Survivors include her sons, Gerald Madden and his wife, Wanda of Michigan, Bill Madden and his wife, Sandy of Michigan; daughter, Martha Walker and her husband, Clifford of Ohio; sister, Rachel Moore of White Bluff; seven grandchildren, Kim, Dawn, Jennifer, Michelle, Tina, Paula and Lisa; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleve and Dixie Hooper Spann; husband, Raymond Alexander Madden; and nine brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or charity of your choice.

Kenneth Earl Woodard

Funeral services for Kenneth “Kenny” Earl Woodard, 57, are 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Brother Calvin Parker officiating. Interment icon will follow in Scott cemetery in Kingston Springs.

Mr. Woodard, a buyer for Boyd’s Steel in Kingston Springs, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004 at his home. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors are his mother and stepfather, Jean and Jasper Mallory of Dickson; son, Keith Woodard of Nashville; brother, Gary Woodard and his wife, Sue of White Bluff; sister, Tammy Smart and husband, Bill, of Dickson.

He was a preceded in death by his father, Selkir Woodard.

Claude Howlett Ford

Funeral services for Mr. Claude Howlett Ford, 82, are 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 from the chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Ralph Taylor officiating. Interment icon will follow in Taylor Town cemetery in White Bluff. Visitation is Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Ford of McEwen was born in Williamson County Jan. 1, 1922. He died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004 at Veterans Hospital in Nashville. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his daughters, Wanda and husband, Daniel Lee of Cuba Landing and Reba Darlene Lee of McEwen; brother, Paul Edward Ford of Nashville; sisters, Alberta Meadows of Nashville, Dorothy Tansil of Ashland City and Alma Jackson of Nashville; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bailey and Rena Bell Ford; and wife, Lois England Ford.

Roy Sidney Lane

Funeral services for Mr. Roy Sidney Lane, 70, are 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Brother Ron Melton officiating. Interment icon follows in Tennessee City cemetery.

Mr. Lane, a construction worker with Lane Aluminum, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Born in Tennessee City, he was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Sanker of Dickson; two sons, Gary Lane of Dickson and Tommy Lane of Murrieta, Calif.; sister, Thelma Tupy of Fairfield, Conn.; seven grandchildren, Holly Stockman, Heather Foriest, Miranda Brumley, Jason Sanker, Amy Lane, Angel Lane and David Hatfield; and two great-grandchildren, Paxton and Cayden Sanker.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joyce Lowe Lane; parents, Tom and Lou Annie Rose Lane; sister, Mary Walton; and brothers, Robert Lane, Wilson Lane, George Lane and Talmage Lane.

Glenda Gail Metcalf Barnes

Funeral services for Mrs. Glenda Gail Metcalf Barnes, 58, are 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004 at Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Barry Wayne McClurkan officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Tennessee Veterans cemetery near Pegram.

Mrs. Barnes of Dickson died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. She was born March 26, 1946 in Chattanooga.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Barnes of Dickson; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Angela Barnes of Beggs, Okla.; daughter, Deborah Barnes of Dickson; sisters, Beverly Thomas of Spring Hill, Sharon Edgemond of Chattanooga and Sonja Thomas of Nashville; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Lou Ella Lane Metcalf.

Thomas Edward Brush

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas “Tom” Edward Brush, 47, are 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Samuel Curtis officiating. His remains were cremated.

Mr. Brush, who worked in pest control with Arrow Exterminators, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He was born in Rockford, Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Bleadingheiser Brush of Dickson; sons, Anthony Brush of Memphis, Nicholas Brush of Dickson and Daniel Brush of Dickson; father, James Robert Brush of Washington; mother, Lois Elliot of Bonita Springs, Fla.; brother, Kasey Wince of Tampa, Fla.

Memorials may be made to Smoky Mountain National Park.

Bobby R. Story

Funeral services for Mr. Bobby R. Story, 68, were noon Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004 at Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Huff officiating. Burial followed in Union cemetery.

Mr. Story of Dickson died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at his home. He was born March 8, 1936 in Dickson County. He served in the U.S. Marines.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Story of Dickson; sons, Michael Dean Story and his wife, Janice of White Bluff, Danny Ray Story and his wife, Rachel of Dickson and Jerry Dwight Story and his wife, Margie of Dickson; daughter, Peggy Linette Shelton and her husband, Todd of Dickson; brother, Paul Story of Charlotte; sister, Betty Sue Armstrong of Dickson; grandchildren, Jeffery Burnett, Jason Story, Beth Burnett, Nathan Story, Brian Story, Craig Brown and Daniel Brown; and great-grandson, Dillon Burnett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Betsy Story.

Dorothy Cude Waynick

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Cude Waynick, 72, were 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Dr. Don McCoy and Rev. Lewis Bratton officiating. Interment icon followed in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Waynick died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. She was born in Linden and was a secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Dewey “D.A.” Waynick of Burns; son, Jeff Waynick of Florence, S.C.; daughter, Lisa Parnell of Thompson Station, Julie Eaton of Dickson and Connie Farmer of Cordova; sister, Lila Duncan of Columbia; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.x

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Bertha Lane Cude.

Percy Harlon Bledsoe

Funeral services for Mr. Percy Harlon Bledsoe, 88, were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Calvin Parker and Rev. Bob Hammer officiating. Interment icon followed in Parker-Fowlkes cemetery.

Mr. Bledsoe died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005 at Centennial Medical Center. He was born in Dickson County to the late Aubrey and Norvia Hutcheson Bledsoe. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of Brown’s Chapel Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Astor White Bledsoe of Bon Aqua; son, Jackie Ray Bledsoe and his wife, Judy of Bon Aqua; daughter, Anita Bledsoe Leonard and her husband, Chuck of Bon Aqua; brothers, Harvey Bledsoe of Milan, Willis Bledsoe of Fairview, Doug Bledsoe of Dickson and Henry Bledsoe of Bon Aqua; sisters Gladys Dedman of Milan and Aladee Tidwell Brown of Bon Aqua; grandson, Christopher Brady “Brad” Bledsoe; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Doyle Hooper Bledsoe and Delmer Bledsoe; and two sisters, Grace Tidwell and Beatrice Spencer.
