Funeral services for Mr. Ricky Lee Black, 47, are 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005 from the chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Franklin officiating. Interment icon will follow in Pleasant Hill cemetery in Sylvia.

Mr. Black, a dispatcher for Taylor Trucking Company in Camden, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 at Southern Hills Hospital in Nashville.

Survivors include daughters, Stephanie Corlew of Hendersonville and Rica Black of Madison; brother, Delmar Wayne Black of Dickson; sisters, Deborah Faye Taylor of Camden and Donna Kay Yates of Dickson; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Christine Black; sister, Carolyn Black; and brother, Timothy Black.

Harry Hunt Corlew

Funeral services for Mr. Harry Hunt Corlew, 82, were 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Brother Calvin Parker and Clay Corlew officiating. Interment icon followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Corlew, a farmer who was born in Cheatham County, died at his home in the White Bluff area. He was a member of Shacklett Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Chloe Taylor Corlew of White Bluff; son, Clay Corlew and his wife, Donna of Kingston Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert John and Ada Foss Corlew.

Memorials may be made to Alive Hospice or American Cancer Society.

Rosa Gill Dillard

Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Gill Dillard, 79, were 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 from the chapel of Spann Funeral Home with Ronnie Travis officiating. Interment icon followed in Frudenthal cemetery.

Survivors include one son, David F. Dillard of Charlotte; two daughters, Donna DeLoach of Charlotte and Marian Finch of Deutschland, Germany; grandchildren, Jonathan Dillard, Jared Dillard, Alexander Potts, Jennifer Potts and Krista DeLoach; special niece, Elfrieda Benes of Richmond, Ky.; special nephew, Guy Schuenemann of Charlotte; and several other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

John William Fiser

Funeral services for Mr. John William Fiser, 82, were 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Brother Robert Cullom officiating.

Mr. Fiser, a retired farmer and former Dickson County road supervisor, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 at his home in Charlotte. Born in Dickson County to Caleb and Nora Jackson Fiser, he was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Annie Hagewood Fiser of Charlotte; sons, Ernest Fiser of Charlotte and Larry Fiser and his wife, Dianne of Burlison, Tenn.; brother, Carroll Fiser and his wife, Shirley of Dickson; sisters, Lucille Hall and her husband, Speight of Charlotte, Sally Manley of Dickson, Lola Shelton of Charlotte and Gayle Jones and her husband, Ned of Bon Aqua; two granddaughters, Dana Hix and her husband, Kevin of Old Hickory and Natalie Kelley and her husband, Shawn of Murfreesboro; two step-grandchildren, Chris and Ashley Greggs of Burlison, Tenn.; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lucien, Warner, Joe and Dan Fiser; and sister, Dorothy Hayes.

William Ronald Hampton

Funeral services for Mr. William Ronald “Snooky” Hampton, 68, were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Gilbert Taylor and Bro. Bill Shouse officiating. Interment icon followed in Jackson Chapel cemetery.

Mr. Hampton, an equipment operator, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He had a great sense of humor, always kept himself busy and enjoyed bluegrass music. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Billye Ruth Dozier of Charlotte; sons, Ronnie Hampton of Nashville, Terry Lawrence and his wife, Charlie of Dover and Michael Dunn of Ashland City; daughters, Tammy Lindsey and her husband, Terry of Charlotte, Linda Rich and her husband, Gary of Charlotte, Cathy Spicer of White Bluff, Jannie Lawrence of Nashville and Misty Baxter and her husband, Bob of Ashland City; brothers, Paul Hampton and Jerry Hampton, both of Nashville, and Donnie Hampton and Charles Hampton, both of Ashland City; sisters, Sara Greer of Charlotte, Brenda Ladd of Nashville, Mary Lou Bissenger of Nashville and Bertha Mai Haley of Nashville; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and Sarah Lucille Sesler Hampton; and first wife, Jessie Scott Hampton.

John Byron Hudson

Funeral services for Mr. John Byron Hudson, 63, were 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 at the chapel of the Dickson Funeral Home with Elder Lynn Russell officiating. Interment icon followed in Union cemetery.

Mr. Hudson, who was born in Dickson County, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Dickson VFW.

Survivors include his mother, Ruby Hudson of Dickson; sister-in-law, Patricia Hudson of Dickson; several cousins; and two aunts.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elton Hudson; and brother, Wendell Hudson.

Kenneth E. Story

Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth E. Story, 75, were 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Keitha Stephenson, Warren Medley and Rev. Clark Brown officiating. Entombment with military honors followed in Dickson Union cemetery Mausoleum.

Mr. Story of Charlotte died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 at his home. He was an operating engineer with TVA from 1951-1968 and retired from United Engineers in 1990.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was an active member of the Charlotte Lions Club, having served as president and was recipient of multiple “Lion of the Year” awards. He was a member of the Dickson County Historical Society and a volunteer in the Dickson Unit of the American Cancer Society. A member of the Sylvia Baptist Church, he was an ordained deacon with the Southern Baptist Association. He was active in lay ministry in the field of church planting in Canada.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jean Edwards Story of Charlotte; son, Kelvin Story and his wife, Robin of Stamford, Conn.; daughter, Keitha Stephenson and her husband, Walter of Paradise, Texas; foster daughter, Debbie Jolliffe of Cannonsburg, Pa; brothers, James Alton Story and his wife, Catherine Sue of Burns and Lovell H. Story and his wife, Joy of Charlotte; sisters, Clara Grove of Charlotte, Gerlene Moore and her husband, Bobby of Clarksville; three grandchildren, Laura Story, Katie Story and Ryan Story; three stepgrandchildren, Walter Stephenson Jr., Glennel Peterson and Tina Davenport; six step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Elva Taylor Story; and sisters, Jessie Raye Christy and June Christy.

Memorials may be made to the Dickson County Unit of the American Cancer Society or the Charlotte Lions Club.

Helen Larkin Taylor

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Larkin Taylor, 78, were 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 at the McEwen Chapel of Luff-Bowen Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Suddeath officiating. Interment icon followed in McEwen cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Dickson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Taylor, a former factory worker for Shaddick Manufacturing Co. in Michigan, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 in Garden City, Mich.

Survivors include two sons, Darrell Taylor and his wife, Judy of Columbia and David Taylor or Garden City, Mich., sister, Linda Janca and her husband, James of Hendersonville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Taylor.

Lloyd Bowen

Funeral services for Mr. Lloyd J. Bowen, 79, were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 at Stark Funeral Service Moore Chapel with Pastor Jim McKinnies officiating. Interment icon followed in Washtenong Memorial Park.

Mr. Bowen of Ypsilanti, Mich., died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005. He was born Sept. 30, 1925 in Dickson to Zollie and Eva Luther Bowen. He was a member of Willis Baptist Church and a former member of Moose Lodge #782. He was employed by Ford Motor Company in Ypsilanti for more than 30 years, retiring in 1983. He moved to Knoxville from 1988-2002 before returning to Ypsilanti.

Survivors include his wife, Grace; daughters, Sharon Sweeney of Ypsilanti, Mich., Gloria (Gary) Shaw of Milan, Mich., and Denise (Fran) Hawkins of Ypsilanti, Mich.; son, Michael (Dieu Huong) Bowen of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ida Bradford of Knoxville, Flossie Grenham of Seymour, Tenn., and Bessie Tidwell of Florida; and many extended family members, including the Powell family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard, Ernest and Wesley Bowen; and sister, Claytie Puckett.

Rickey Wayne Capps

Funeral services for Mr. Rickey Wayne Capps, 48, were 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 at McDonald Funeral Home with Bill McDonald officiating. Interment icon followed in the Memory Gardens cemetery in Centerville.

Mr. Capps of Centerville died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005 at his home. He was born Feb. 19, 1956 in Dickson. He was self-employed as a dozier operator.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Dewire Capps of Centerville; mother, Bobbie Jean Dunn Scott of Centerville; sons, Terry Capps of Dickson, Mickey Capps of Centerville, Jimmy Lee Capps of Centerville, Wayne Sharpton of Centerville and Timothy Sharpton of Centerville; sisters, Lisa Pharris of Culleoka and Robbie Pinkerton of Centerville; seven grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Anderson Capps.

Matt Derrick

Funeral services for Mr. William Matthew “Matt” Derrick, 48, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 at St. Christopher’s Church in Dickson with Fathers Stephen Gideon, John Simms Baker and Joe McMahon officiating. Interment icon will follow in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home.

Mr. Derrick of Dickson died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005 at his home. He was born in Cullman, Ala., and was a counselor at William James Middle School in White Bluff. He held a bachelor of arts degree from St. Meinrad and a master’s degree in education from Delta State University. He was a member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Clifton Derrick of Dickson; daughters, Elizabeth Derrick, Caroline Derrick and Anna Derrick, all of Dickson; parents, Bill and Connie Derrick of Nashville; brother, John Derrick and his wife, Kim of Fairview; sisters, Mary Ray and her husband, Roger of Nashville, Ann Diroff and her husband, Greg of Nashville, Theresa Andrews and her husband, Sam of Nashville, Margaret Simpson and her husband, Frank of Nashville, Joanie Conrad of Nashville and Ruthie Glover and her husband, Scott of Murfreesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Tuition Assistance Fund at St. Cecilia Academy in Nashville or St. Patrick Catholic School in McEwen.
