Mary Tom Flowers

Funeral services for Ms. Mary Tom Flowers, 80, were 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville with John Vaughan officiating. Interment icon followed in Oakmont cemetery in Centerville.

Ms. Flowers of Centerville died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at Hickman Community Hospital. She was born May 27, 1924 in Centerville. She was a retired machine operator with Henry I. Siegel and a member of Dickson First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her brothers, Harry Flowers of Peachtree, Ga., and Billy Flowers of Centerville; and sisters, Ruth Brown of Dickson, Louise Goins of Dickson and Johnnie Sue Flowers of Centerville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover Flowers and Maggie (Hickman) Flowers.

Paul Thomas Victory

Funeral services for Mr. Paul Thomas Victory, 56, were Monday, Jan. 17, 2005 at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville with William McClearen officiating. Interment icon followed in Memory Gardens cemetery in Centerville.

Mr. Victory of Nunnelly died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at his home. He was born Jan. 29, 1948 in Lewisburg. He was a machinist with Cutters Machine.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Lou (French) Victory of Nunnelly; father, Henry Ford Victory of Bon Aqua; son, James Paul Victory of Nashville; stepson, Steven Leslie Warren of Dickson; stepsisters, Wanda Tidwell of Dickson and Janie Newman of Lyles; stepbrothers, Wayne Baker of Bon Aqua and Randy Baker of Bon Aqua; brother, Henry Claggett Victory of Centerville; sisters, Brenda Rye of Clarksville and Marlene Watson of Nunnelly; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Vera Mai (Tidwell) Victory; son, Tommy Paul Victory; and stepmother, Annie Lee Victory.

Nancy Jane Walp

Funeral services for Nancy Jane Walp of Okolona, Ky., were held Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005.

Miss Walp passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was a retired nurse supervisor at St. Anthony Hospital in Louisville, Ky. She was a native of Burns. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Louisville.

Survivors include two sisters, Gale Vandivier and Sandra Tindall; four nephews, Benjamin Vandivier, Garrett Cawthon, Jeffery Walp and Jerald Walp; one niece, Lauren Vandivier; and several aunts, uncles and cousins in the Dickson area.

She was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Geraldine Walp and the granddaughter of the late Arthur and Nettie Smith of Dickson and the late Earl and Medie Walp of Burns.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Walp.

Patrice Diane Wingo

Graveside services for Mrs. Patrice Diane Wingo, 53, were Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 at East Dickson cemetery. Services were under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson.

Mrs. Wingo died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005 at her home in Charlotte. She was a 1969 graduate of Bishop Hartley High School and attended Ohio State University. She was employed by Ohio Bell in Columbus, Ohio, Horizon Medical Center and Fiesta Gas Grill.

Survivors include her sons, Jonathan and Jacob; granddaughter, Fantasia; sister, Sharon Jenkins; sister-in-law, Sharon Wingo; niece, Ashlie Jenkins; nephews, Eric Jenkins and Javon Wingo; great-nephews, Jordan Wingo and Aeron Jenkins; uncles, James and Joe Dunlap; aunt, Mary Alexander; special cousins, Frank Dunlap and James Dunlap Jr.; dear friends, Michael Lanier, Joann Brown and family, Aunt Molly, Kim Marable; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon L. and Annabell Wingo; and brother, Craig Wingo.

Gary Wiggins

Funeral services for Mr. Gary S. Wiggins, 63, are 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Thompson officiating. Interment icon will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Wiggins was born March 14, 1941 in Wilmer, Ala. He graduated from Semmes High School in Semmes, Ala., in 1959. In 1973 he graduated from Piedmont Baptist Bible College in Winston-Salem, N.C. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves as well as worked for the L&N Railroad and McLean Trucking Company. Most recently, he owned and operated Anne’s Carpet Cleaner until his retirement in July 2004. He was a faithful Sunday school teacher at Harpeth Valley Community Church in Kingston Springs for many years. In addition, he served as interim pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Dickson in 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel; sons, Mark Wiggins and his wife, Leila, Andrew Wiggins and his wife, Keota; daughter, Carolyn Eckert and her husband, Jon; grandchildren, Lauren, Joshua, Micah and Katherine Wiggins and Benjamin Eckert; brothers, Marcel Wiggins and his wife, Frances, Juan Wiggins and his wife, Connie and Melton Wiggins and his wife, Margaret; sisters, Mescal Parden and her husband, G.L., Sonya Sellers and her husband, James, Joy Kirkland, Holly Parnell and Melanie Williams and her husband, Ralph; 19 nieces and nephews; and aunt, Betty Findley.

Mildred Jean Thompson Barnett

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Jean Thompson Barnett, 68, are 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Brother Edgar Beard officiating. Interment icon follows in Hilltop cemetery in Hickman County.

Mrs. Barnett, a machine operator with the former Henry I. Siegel Manufacturing Company, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at her home. She was born in Dickson County and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Billy C. Barnett; daughter, Carolyn (Steve) Fielder; sons, Gary (Connie) Barnett, Jerry (Betty) Barnett and Barry Barnett; two granddaughters, Kristin Fielder and Ashley Staggs, all of Dickson; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Lisa Mangrum of Dickson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kendrick and Emmie Pack Thompson.

Novia Burton

Funeral services for Mrs. Novia G. Burton, 99, were 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005 from the chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Brother Melvin Brooks and Brother Larry Spicer officiating. Interment icon followed at Union cemetery.

Mrs. Burton, a nurse’s aide, 50-year member of the Eastern Star and lifetime member of Vanleer Methodist Church, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at her residence in Bon Aqua.

She is survived by a daughter, Betty Jean (Everett L.) Dodson of Bon Aqua; grandson, David L. Dodson of Mt. Juliet; two nieces, Florene Redden of Dickson and Wilda Sue Clark of Rockvale; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Fannie Hudson Johnson and her husband, Charlie Burton.

Dolly Jane Burke Dodd

Memorial services for Mrs. Dolly Jane Burke Dodd, 57, are 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 at Burns Church of Christ. Her remains were cremated. Arrangements by Taylor Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dodd, a dispatcher with Blue Eagle Trucking Company, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. She was born in Haverhill, Mass., and was a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, James C. Dodd; sons, John Holbrook and James W. (Gail) Dodd, all of Dickson; daughter Wendy Zambada of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Ron Burke of Louisiana; sisters, Mary Short and Beverly Beavergard, both of Haverhill, Mass.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Malcolm Holbrook; and parents, Hector and Anna Beauliur Burke.

Dewey Doyle Sensing

Funeral services for Mr. Dewey Doyle Sensing, 89, are 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at Bellevue Church of Christ with Brother John Holland and Brother Steve Blackman officiating. Interment icon follows in Middle Tennessee Veterans cemetery on McCrory Lane. Service under the direction of Spann Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Lida Knight Sensing of Nashville; son, Hal (Patty) Sensing of Nashville; sister, Ollie Batson of Springfield; and two grandchildren, David Sensing and Amy (Clint) Hill, both of Nashville.

Memorials may be made to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America or Alive Hospice.

Baxter Glenn Kimbro

Funeral services for Mr. Baxter Glenn Kimbro, 70, are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005 at Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Bennie Mangrum and Bro. Bob Talbert officiating. Burial will follow at Street cemetery.

Mr. Kimbro of Centerville died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005 at Centennial Medical Center. He was born Nov. 23, 1934 in Dickson County. He was a retired pipefitter and welder for TVA and a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church in Dickson.

Survivors include his wife, Katy B. Kimbro of Centerville; sons, Tony Kimbro of Dickson, Ricky Kimbro of Bakersfield, Calif., and Tim Kimbro of Centerville; daughters, Katherine (Terry) Zarth of Dickson and Bonnie Davis of Dickson; brother, Ralph Kimbro of Dickson; sisters, Bea Middleton of Bangor, Mich., Rose Fuqua of Dallas, N.C., and Lucille Hix of Dickson; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sim and Era Register Kimbro; and grandson, Jeremmy Erranton.

Paul Earl Rogers

Funeral services for Mr. Paul Earl Rogers, 70, were 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005 at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville with Myron Keith and Dr. Steve Flatt officiating. Burial was in Centerville cemetery.

Mr. Rogers of Centerville was born in Birmingham, Ala., on Aug. 31, 1934. He died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005 at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, after a long battle with heart disease.

He served as the minister of the Centerville Church of Christ since January 1957. During those 48 years, the congregation’s membership increased from 250 to 800. Together, they constructed a new auditorium and fellowship center, Camp Meribah, Tulipwood Senior Apartments, Benevolent Outreach Center, The Hope House, Centerville Children’s Home and Turks & Caicos Islands Church building. He conducted 800 funerals, authored 10 books and booklets and organized the annual Middle Tennessee Preacher’s Forum.

He received a B.A. degree from David Lipscomb University and a M.A. degree from Harding University. He served on David Lipscomb’s Board of Directors from 1986-2003, First Farmers & Merchants National Bank Board, Johnson Scholarship Foundation Board, Centerville Elementary PTA-first president, Centerville Beautiful Commission, Centerville Kiwanis Club-former president, Hickman County Jaycees-honorary member, Centerville City Industrial Board, Clover Bottom Developmental Board, Hickman County Library Board, Bluegrass Regional Library Board and was the Centerville Christmas parade coordinator for 25 years.

He was named Centerville Man of the Year in 1978 and received the Hickman County Chamber of Commerce Edwin Hickman Award in 2004.

Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy Johns Rogers; sons: Larry (Janet) Rogers of Columbia and David (Alison) Rogers, Brentwood; daughters: Susan (Dwayne) Harber of Smyrna and Emily (Lowrie) Webber of Thompson Station; seven grandchildren, Carson Rogers, Rachel Rogers, Rebecca Rogers, Lauren Rogers, Katherine Harber, Michael Harber and Olivia Webber; brother: Maurice (Peggy) Rogers of Birmingham, Ala.; sisters: Madelyn Poole of Birmingham, Ala., and Jeanette Lowe of Demopolis, Ala.

Memorials may be made to the Paul Rogers Memorial Fund in care of the Centerville Church of Christ.

Allene Tidwell Saeger

Funeral services for Mrs. Allene Tidwell Saeger, 90, were 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Brother Steve Baggett officiating. Interment icon followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Saeger, born in Hickman County, was retired from the sewing department of General Motors. She was a member of Walnut Street Church of Christ and a member of the Rose Society in Nashville.

Survivors include her sister, Mary B. Fowlkes of Dickson; and several nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Jim Fowlkes and Steve Fowlkes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey H. (Shadow) Saeger; parents, Henry and Rebecca McCord Tidwell; two brothers, Bernard Tidwell and Paul Tidwell; and sister, Alta L. Ivy.

Memorials may be made to the Walnut Street Church of Christ building fund.
