Herbert Hoover Haddix

Funeral services for Mr. Herbert Hoover Haddix, 75, were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Robert Cullom and Rev. Roy West officiating. Interment icon followed in Dickson County Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Mr. Haddix, a maintenance worker for 25 years with the Dickson County School System, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He was a member of Walnut Street Church of Christ. He was a native of Hazard, Ky.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Bertie Lee Spann Haddix of Dickson; daughters, Sharon Chausse and her husband, Dan and Betty Jo Baggett and her husband, John, and Kathy Hogin and her husband, Jackie, all of Dickson; sons, Tommy Haddix and his wife, Ruby and Randy Haddix and his wife, Sara, all of Dickson; stepson, Billy Spann and his wife, Jane of Minneapolis, Minn.; grandchildren, Ashlee Jennings, Jimmy Jennings, Joyce Jennings, Rick Donegan, Shannon Donegan and Gary Haddix; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jackson Jennings, Brooklyn Donegan, Kaitlyn Donegan, Logan Haddix and Kellie Haddix; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bessie Cornett Haddix; sisters, Clara Mae Caudill and Marie Donegan; and brother, Talmadge Haddix.

Peggy Jean Johnson

Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Jean Johnson, 68, were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at the White Bluff Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Bros. Howard Wingo and Dennis Whitfield officiating. Interment icon followed at Nosegay cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson of Burns was born in Dickson County on Jan. 25, 1936. She died on Friday, Dec. 24, 2004 at her residence. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her sons, Ronald Johnson and his wife, Debra of White Bluff, Richard Johnson of White Bluff and Timothy Johnson and wife, Joemarie of Bon Aqua; daughters, Annette Williams III and her husband, Joe of Madison, Miss., Kathy Edmission and her husband, Darrell of Vanleer and Angela Yates of Bon Aqua; brothers, William Earl Oliphant of Bon Aqua, Carlton Ray Oliphant and his wife, Sue of Dickson and Samuel Ward Oliphant of Burns; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ophelia Duke Oliphant; and husband, Richard Harl Johnson.

Jensen McKae Killingsworth

Funeral services for Jensen McKae Killingsworth, 19, were 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at Grace Chapel in Leipers Fork, where Jensen was a faithful worshipper, with Pastor Steve Berger officiating. Interment icon took place in Stockton cemetery in Stockton, Mo. Arrangements were handled by Dickson Funeral Home.

Jensen was born in Springfield, Mo., on July 22, 1985. He died Dec. 22, 2004 at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Jensen was a senior at Fairview High School, a born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, his dad’s buddy, his mom’s inspiration and his sisters’ hero.

Survivors include his parents, Alan and Patti Killingsworth of Fairview; maternal grandparents, Betty and Bob Clark of Humansville, Mo., and Carolyn Kenny and husband, Gary of Stockton, Mo.; fraternal grandparents, G. Jene and Freda Killingsworth of Stockton, Mo.; and sisters, Junae and Jasmyn Killingsworth, both of Fairview.

Helen Ruth Myatt

Graveside services for Mrs. Helen Ruth (Polly) Myatt, 90, are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 at Williams cemetery in White Bluff with Bro. Andy Brown officiating. Arrangements handled by Dickson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Myatt of Nashville was born in Dickson County Sept. 2, 1913. She died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004 at Trevecca Health Care. She was a retired clerical worker with Genesco.

Survivors include her niece, Mary Louise Hunter of Dickson; nephews, Ron Huff and his wife, Karen of Nashville and Timothy Myatt of White Bluff; great-niece, Rita Cannatta of White Bluff and Judy Felts and her husband, Virgil of Vanleer; and a host of beloved great-nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Myatt was the last of 13 children born to the late James A. Myatt Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth McIntire Myatt.

John Allen Proctor

Funeral services for Mr. John Allen Proctor, 68, were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 from the chapel of Spann Funeral Home. Interment icon followed in Rock Springs cemetery.

Mr. Proctor of Charlotte died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Mr. Proctor was a retired livestock buyer and a member of Rock Springs Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Hampton Proctor of Charlotte; mother and stepfather, Ruth and Roy Buckner of Charlotte; son, Mark Proctor of Charlotte; daughter, Amy Faught and her husband, Brian of White Bluff; brother, Don Proctor and his wife, Shirley of Southside; sister, Sarah Phillips of Clarksville; sister-in-law, Brenda Evans and her husband, Bill of Nashville; grandchildren, Nash and John Mark Faught, of White Bluff; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Proctor was preceded in death by his father, W. M. Proctor.

Linda Gail Robertson

Funeral services for Ms. Linda Gail Robertson, 48, were 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Rev. Matthew Lester officiating. Interment icon followed in East Dickson cemetery.

Ms. Robertson, daughter of the late Joe Ellis and Helen Nell Pollard Robertson, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. She was a member of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include her son, Antwon Robertson of Bon Aqua; brother, Roy Lee Robertson of Dickson; three sisters, Mary Overton, Patricia Evans and Gladys Robertson, all of Dickson; and several nieces and nephews.

Kenneth Wyly Street

Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Wyly Street, 79, were 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2004 from the chapel of Spann Funeral Home with Bro. Warren Medley officiating. Interment icon followed in Union cemetery.

Mr. Street of Dickson died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at his home.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lorene Street of Dickson; son, Mike Street of Hickman County; sister, Mary Street of White Bluff; five grandchildren, Jenny, Michael, Erica, Sarah and Seth Street; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Street.

Otis Tidwell

Funeral services for Mr. Otis Tidwell, 94, are noon Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at the Faith Chapel of Forest Lawn Mortuary-Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, Calif.

Mr. Tidwell was born Feb. 27, 1910 in Bon Aqua. He passed away Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004 in Glendale, Calif. He left the farm in Tennessee in 1929 to join the U.S. Navy. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor on the ship USS Pelius. He left the Navy in 1953 and joined the U.S. Postal Service in 1955. When he retired from the Postal Service in 1979, he received a service award from the Postmaster General congratulating him for 49 years of government service.

His wife, Edith Gertrude Carter Tidwell, passed away in 1975. He moved to National City, Calif., in 1947.

Survivors include his children, Martin Daniel Tidwell of Fresno, Calif., Mary Virginia Wood of El Centro, Calif., and Priscilla Edith Karratti of La Crescenta, Calif.; brother, Bradley Tidwell of Mena, Ark.; niece, Lucille Stanfield of Burns; and nephews, Mason Tidwell of Burns and Ben Ligon of Bon Aqua.

Ella Joyce Whitaker

Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Joyce Whitaker, 70, are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 from the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home in Nashville with Dr. Lowell Roddy officiating. Interment icon will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Whitaker of Burns died on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004.

Survivors include her husband, Fletcher Whitaker Jr.; daughters, Lisa Wells and her husband, Ken and Trevenia Jones and her husband, Steve; son, Fletcher Glenn Whitaker and his wife, Johnna; brother, J. C. Eldrigde; sisters, Dorothy Jean Martin and her husband, Leon, Martha Rebecca Goins and her husband, Ted, Janet Sharron Belch and her husband, Ralph; grandchildren, Leoma Nichole Wells, Samantha Brianne Wells, Lanae Blythe Whitaker, Glenna Danielle Whitaker, Catlin Elizabeth Jones and Robert Fletcher Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonzo Samuel Eldridge and Leoma Gaylor Eldridge; and sister, Lillian Lorene Goins.

Memorials may be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.

Mary Roberts Wills

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Roberts Wills, 86, are 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 from the chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Pastor Les Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Jason Chapel cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Will of Dickson was born in Dickson County on Sept. 15, 1918. She died on Monday, Dec. 27, 2004 at her residence. She was a retired factory worker with Henry I. Siegel Company.

Survivors include her husband, Homer Wills of Dickson; and sister, Vadie Brown of Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Joanne McElhiney Roberts; brother, Howard Roberts; and sister, Louise Few.

Stephen Wayne Luna

Funeral services for Mr. Stephen Wayne (Steve) Luna, 39, are 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with friends delivering eulogies. Interment icon will follow in Hilltop cemetery.

Mr. Luna, an equipment operator with Sumter Utilities in South Carolina, died suddenly Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004 from a work related accident in Dawson County, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Barbie Elliott Luna of Bon Aqua; son, Stephen Russell “Buddy” Luna of Dickson; father, L.V. Luna of Waverly; brothers, Stacey Luna and Charlie Luna, both of Lyles, David Luna of Pleasant Hill and Wayne Luna of Sparta; sister, Tina Teet Patterson of Waverly; nieces and nephews, Jacob Teet and Amber Patterson, both of Waverly, Peyton Fordson of Lyles, Nathan and Brett Luna of Pleasant Hill, Shawn Luna of Sparta and Alicia Patterson of Dickson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Luna; and sister, Teresa Hassell.

David Wayne Wren

Funeral services for Mr. David Wayne Wren, 51, are 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, 2004 from the White Bluff Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home in White Bluff with Bro. Larry Cochran officiating. Interment icon will follow in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Wren of White Bluff was born in Dickson County Feb. 3, 1953. He died Dec. 22, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. He worked in maintenance at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Wren of White Bluff; daughter, Brandi Wren Dugan and husband, Kevin of White Bluff; mother, Agnes Wren of White Bluff; sister, Darlene Wren of White Bluff; and grandchildren, Karlee and Katie Dugan of White Bluff.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Joe Wren.

James Dudley Butler

Funeral services for Mr. James Dudley (Pinhead) Butler, 83, were 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson. Interment icon followed in Williams cemetery in White Bluff.

Mr. Butler, a welder with State Industries, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Ashland City. He was a member of White Bluff Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Burgess and San Lacy Butler of White Bluff; two brothers, Harry Butler and Jerry Butler, both of White Bluff; three sisters, Doye Horneke and Freddie Mae Weatherspoon, both of Dickson and Tennie Forkum of Madison; and two grandchildren, James Aaron Butler and Callie Butler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Dean Staggs Butler; son, Willie Steven Butler; and parents, Fred Allen and Vera Story Butler.
