Mary Elizabeth Case

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Case, 86, were 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2004 at Janowiak Funeral Home, Geer-Logan Chapel with Rev. Keith Geiselman of First Presbyterian Church of Ypsilanti, Mich., officiating. Interment icon followed in Udell cemetery in Ypsilanti, Mich.

Mrs. Case was born July 6, 1918 in Vanleer. She died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004. She is the daughter of the late Dudley S. and Ella B. (Mathis) Adams. On May 18, 1942, she married her lifetime mate, Leslie Lee Case, who preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2001. Mrs. Case lived in the Ypsilanti area since 1941. She was employed with Norris Industries, retiring in 1980.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Betty J. Brown and husband, Clarence of Houghton Lake, Mich., and Mrs. Diana L. Babcock and husband, Will of Ypsilanti; two sisters, Emma Clifton of Dickson and Gennie Bryan of Hillsboro, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Sanford, Bill, Ed, Carl and in infancy, Dudley Jr.; and one sister in infancy, Goldie.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Mercy Hospice, 806 Airport Blvd., Ann Arbor, MI 48108.

Clifford “Bo” Gill

Funeral services for Mr. Clifford “Bo” Gill, 63, were 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004 from the White Bluff Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in White Bluff with Bro. Dennis Whitfield officiating. Interment icon followed in Taylor Town cemetery.

Mr. Gill, a self-employed contractor and truck driver, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Born in Dickson County, he was the son of the late James Elihu and Guida Hall Gill.

Survivors include two brothers, Mike Gill and his wife, Libby of White Bluff and Robert Gill and his wife, Willadean of Clearwater, Fla.; sister, Linda Hayes and her husband, Kenneth of White Bluff; nieces and nephews, Traci Williams and her husband, Danny, Jennifer Hohl, and her husband, Craig, Janice Taylor and her husband, Henry, and Chip Hayes and his fiancé, Charla Beth Cocke, and Johnny Gill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Elihu and Guida Hall Gill.

Paul Dean Jones

Funeral services for Mr. Paul Dean Jones, 66, were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Dan Jones and Bro. Richard Guill officiating. Interment icon followed in Rock Church cemetery.

Mr. Jones, a retired U.S. Postal Service worker, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004 at his home in Dickson. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Church of Christ. He was a native of Freelandville, Ind.

Survivors include his wife, Dorris McKnight Jones of Dickson; two sisters, Lynn Meier of New Castle, Ind., and Sharon King of Freelandville, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Geraldine Walker and Goldie Jones.

Harry Mallory Jr.

Memorial services for Harry B. Mallory Jr., 88, are noon Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 from Calvary Episcopal Church in Cumberland Furnace with Rev. Catherine Regen officiating. Visitation will follow the memorial service. Arrangements handled by Taylor Funeral Home.

Mr. Mallory, a retired assistant director of the State of Tennessee Employment Security, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at his home in Dickson. He was a World War II Navy veteran, participating in most of the significant battles in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church, where he served as treasurer. He was a graduate of Wooster School and Yale University. His business beginnings were Mallory Hats, Burton William Hats, Resistol Hats and Hat Corporation of America.

He served in High Noon Rotary Club in Dickson, Republican Party, Cattlemen’s Association in Dickson County and Dickson County Zoning Board.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Gloria Wentworth Dod Mallory; two daughters, Terrill Johnson and Vivienne Akhdary, both of Dickson; two sons, Harry B. (Pete) Mallory of Panama City, Fla., and William M. Mallory of Washington Courthouse, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry B. Mallory Sr. and Mary Topping Cowperthwait Mallory.

Mary Katie McFarlin

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Katie McFarlin, 92, were 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 McDonald Funeral Home in Lyles with Bert Mathis and Mike Kelley officiating. Interment icon followed in Hilltop cemetery in Centerville.

Mrs. McFarlin of Centerville was born May 22, 1912 in Hickman County. She died Dec. 15, 2004 at Hickman Community Nursing Home in Centerville. She was a retired nurse at the Hickman County Hospital. She was a member of Fairfield Church of Christ.

Survivors include her two sons, Prince McFarlin and wife, Cathy of White Bluff and Charles McFarlin and wife, Joan of Lenoir City; two daughters, Jean Reeves and husband, Malcolm and Fay Burton and husband, Carl all of Lyles; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis McFarlin; and parents, James Henry and Elva Cooper England.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Mid-South Chapter, Middle Tennessee Regional Office, 4004 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 219B, Nashville, TN 37215.

Charles Arthur Robbins Jr.

Memorial services for Mr. Charles Arthur “Chuck” Robbins Jr., 57, were 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2004 from Friendship Christian Church in Waverly with Josh Hannah officiating. His remains were cremated. Arrangements handled by Taylor Funeral Home.

Mr. Robbins, a police officer, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004 at his home in the Edgewood community of Dickson County. He served in law enforcement for several years. He was a U.S. Marine veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Friendship Christian Church in Waverly.

Survivors include his wife, Lee Lytle Robbins of the Edgewood community; stepdaughter, Rebecca Lynn Shipley of Colorado; brother, Douglas John Robbins of Georgia; and sister, Christine Robbins Wilhelm of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Arthur Robbins Sr. and Sarah Burbage Robbins.

Patricia Marie Connelly

Patricia Marie Connelly, 65, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004 at her home in Dickson. Her remains were cremated. No service or visitation is planned at this time. Arrangements handled by Taylor Funeral Home.

She was a retired clerk at C.B. Shop on Highway 48 in Dickson.

Survivors include one son, Douglas “Butch” Hoeppner of Dickson; one daughter, Janet Lee Crosser of Shawneetown, Ill.; two brothers, Michael J. Connelly of Okeechobee, Fla., and Robert M. Connelly of Dickson; two sisters, Carol J. Underhill of Dickson and Kathleen E. Brabant of Saranac, Mich.; five grandchildren, Donald J. K. Crosser II, Elizabeth H. M. Crosser, Gwendolyn K.S. Crosser, Savannah L. C. Crosser and Emily DeMorrow.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jerold Thomas Hoeppner; and three grandchildren, Terry Lee Hoeppner, Ian M. A. Crosser and Jonathan L. C. Crosser.

Rebecca Logan Holt

Funeral services for Rebecca Logan Holt, 13, were 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 at Trevecca Community Church in Nashville. Interment icon followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements handled by Bills McGaugh Funeral Home.

Holt was born in Nashville on Aug. 28, 1991. She died Friday, December 10, 2004 in Anderson, S.C. She was the daughter of Jerry Holt and Shawna Arnold Blackwell. She was an eighth grade student at Lakeside Middle School in Anderson where she was a member of the swim team. She loved music, playing the flute, enjoyed baking and cooking and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her father and stepmother, Jerry and Karen Holt of Clarksville; mother and stepfather, Shawna and Terry Blackwell of Anderson, S.C.; three brothers, Zachary Ryan Blackwell and Isaac Blackwell of Anderson, S.C., and Cooper Holt of Clarksville; two sisters, Bailey and Aiden Blackwell of Anderson, S.C.; grandparents, Jeneva Holder Holt of Nashville, Jerry Miller Holt of Columbia, Patricia and Cloyd Arnold of Nashville and John and Coetta Daffron of Cunningham.

Peggy Martin Marvin

Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Martin Marvin, 73, are 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Rev. Roy West and Bro. Steve Baggett officiating. Place of rest will be in the Williams addition of Dickson Union cemetery.

Mrs. Marvin, a retired bookkeeper at the former Dickson General Hospital and Bell and Crosby Clinic, died suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004 at Centennial Medical Center. A native of Tupelo, Miss, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Pascal Martin and Valca Louise Hobson Martin. She was a member of Walnut Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, R.T. (Bob) Marvin of Dickson; son, Tommy Marvin and his wife, Cynthia of Dickson; two daughters, Pat Marvin Adcox and her husband, Mike of Dickson and Kay Marvin Woodall and her husband, Judge Tommy Woodall of Dickson; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby P. and Barbara Martin of Ripley, Miss.; brother-in-law, J. P. Coombs of Blue Mountain, Miss.; six grandchildren, Kimberly Hammon, Michael Adcox, Rob Marvin, Abby Marvin, Talmage Woodall and Taylor Woodall; four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Claire, Amber and Sam; one nephew; five nieces, including her favorite, Bettye Coombs Bloodworth Skidmore Hudson.

Memorials may be made to UT-Memphis Diabetes Endowment Research Fund or Walnut Street Church of Christ Building Fund.

Horace "Dean” Street

Funeral services for Mr. Horace “Dean” Street, 67, were 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Calvin Parker officiating. Interment icon followed in Scott cemetery.

Mr. Street, a native of Cheatham County, died suddenly at his home in Lobelville on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004. He was a heavy equipment operator. He was a U.S. Marine veteran.

Survivors include his two sons, Greg Street and his wife, Mindy of Hendersonville and Steve Street and his wife, Gaye of LaVergne; brother, William R. Street of Kingston Springs; sisters, Carrie Street Christian of Nashville and Betty Street Jones of Nashville; three grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Riley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, S. Horace and Martha Mae Taylor Street.

Robert L. Bomar Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert L. “R.L.”Bomar Jr., 78, were 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Bro. Roger Michael and Brother Paul Darety officiating. Interment icon followed in Dickson Union cemetery.

Mr. Bomar, a retired 28-year employee at Tennsco, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center. He was a U.S. Navy veteran with 4 years service. He was born in Dickson County.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty Vetter Bomar of Dickson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.L. Bomar Sr. and Eula Culley Bomar.

PaulBaxter Brown

Funeral services for Mr. Paul Baxter Brown, 80, formerly of Dickson County, were 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2004 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson. Interment icon was in the Brown Family cemetery. Services were under the direction of Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville, N.C., and Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson.

Mr. Brown, a Dickson County native and the son of the late Mark and Ora Lee Larkins Brown, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004 at Haywood Regional Medical Center in Waynesville, N.C. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran having served in Europe. He received a Bachelor of agricultural engineering degree from the University of Tennessee. He was a retired executive of Proctor and Gamble and traveled over the world extensively. He was a member of Central Haywood Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for 18 years. He also served as an elder for many years at Withamsville Church of Christ in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Sue Brown; daughter, Donna Habegger and her husband, Breck of Morristown; son, Gary Brown and his wife, Muriel of Louisville, Tenn.; stepsons, Joseph Hutto of the Cruso community and Jeffrey Hutto of the Lake Logan community; sisters, Iva Pellam of Gallatin, Christine Steele of Charlotte and Rowena Shelton of Dickson; brothers, Robert Brown of Hendersonville, Thurman Brown of Odom, Ind., and Durwood Brown of Tullahoma; and four grandchildren, Jessica Robert and her husband, Matthew of Knoxville and Christian, Paul and Philip Habegger of Morristown.
