Mary Ellen Davis Boyette

Graveside services for Mary Ellen Davis Boyette, 88, were 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Dickson Union cemetery with Rev. Melissa Derseweh officiating. Services under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson.

A retired teacher from the Dade County, Fla., School System, Ms. Boyette died Saturday, March 19, 2005 in Horizon Medical Center in Dickson.

She earned a B.S. degree from Cumberland University in 1938 and an M.S. degree in 1943 from Peabody College.

She was a member of Charlotte Fagan United Methodist Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Lizzine Robertson Darden

Funeral services for Lizzine Robertson Darden, 102, of Charlotte, are 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Rev. Joe Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in Charlotte cemetery.

Mrs. Darden was born in Charlotte and died Saturday, March 19, 2005 in National Health Care Center in Dickson. She was a self-employed housekeeper and a member of Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Albert Darden and his wife, Patsy, and Douglas Darden, all of Charlotte; four daughters, Georgia Lee Greer of Cleveland, Ohio, Margie Smith and her husband, Clifton of Dayton, Ohio, Mable Darden of Nashville, and Mary Aline Dixon of Charlotte; 28 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, 43 great-great-grandchildren and four great-great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Gilbert Darden; two sons, Donald and Charlie Darden; daughters, Virginia Primm and Doris Darden; and her parents, Alvin and Augusta Dixon Robertson

Vernelle Hayes Downey

Funeral services for Mrs. Vernelle Hayes Downey, 64, of Goodlettsville were 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Cole and Garrett Funeral Home.

Mrs. Downey died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at her home. She was a member of Goodlettsville Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Thomas Downey of Goodlettsville; mother, Nettie Mae Hayes of Charlotte; daughter, Rachel Downey of Goodlettsville; sisters, Joyce Mosier of Dickson and Katie Dawson of Charlotte; brothers, Marshall Hayes of Madison and Douglas Hayes of Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Vernon Hayes.

George Leo Hagewood Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. George Leo Hagewood Sr., 61, of Dickson County were 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson. Burial followed in Harvey cemetery.

Mr. Hagewood died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at his home. He was born in Dickson County and was a truck driver with Sessions Paving Co.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Margie Hagewood of Cumberland Furnace; three sons, Chris and his wife, Christine Hagewood, Leo and his wife, Jennifer Hagewood, and Marshall Hagewood and his fiancée, Angie, all of Cumberland Furnace; daughter, Lori and her husband, Tom; two brothers, Boyd Hagewood and Doyle Hagewood, both of Cumberland Furnace; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Myrtle Nesbitt Hagewood.

Charles William Jackson Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles William “Donkey” Jackson Sr., 70, of Dickson County, are 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Rev. Jessie Bohanan officiating.

Mr. Jackson died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson.

He was born in Dickson County and was a farmer.

Survivors include five sons, David, Charles W. Jr. and Doyle Jackson, all of White Bluff, Tommy Jackson of Dickson and Paul Jackson of Bon Aqua; two daughters, Doris Jackson of White Bluff and Melissa Stewart of Charlotte; brothers, Mitchell Jackson of Indiana, Billy Joe Jackson of Humphreys County; sisters, Georgia Daugherty of Illinois, Edna Barnes, Betty Blackburn and Patsy Dean, all of Springfield, Lena Mae Buie of New Johnsonville, Tenn., Lucille Schullttie of Charlotte and JoAnn Qualls of McEwen; nine grandchildren; and 83 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Milbrey Jackson; his parents, John Henry Jackson Sr. and Lillie Bessie Lee Wallace; and his brother, John Jackson Jr.

Thomas Lucious Lampley

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Lucious Lampley, 80, of Sebring, Fla., were 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Barger officiating. Interment icon was in New Hope cemetery.

Mr. Lampley died Tuesday, March 15, 2005 in Sebring, Fla. He was born June 2, 1924 in Jingo, Tenn. A former resident of Williamson County, he was a retired engineer with Teledyne Corp.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna Hill and her husband, Harold of Holland, Mich.; brothers, J. Brad Lampley of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Frank Lampley of Glenmore, Penn.; sisters, Mary Gray of Mesa, Ariz., Sophia Kelly of Las Vegas, Nev., and Joan Watkins Downing of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Mera Stuart Lampley; daughter, Barbara Lampley; and sisters, Dorothy Ozanne, Virginia White and Beatrice Ray.

Kimberly Dru Richardson Lunn

Funeral services for Mrs. Kimberly Dru Richardson Lunn, 39, of Blue Springs, Mo., are 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Dickson Funeral Home with Alan Ragan officiating. Visitation is 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005 and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday.

Mrs. Lunn died Saturday, March 19, 2005. She was born July 28, 1965 and was a nurse practitioner.

Survivors include her husband, Jason Lunn of Blue Springs, Mo.; father, Ken (Marie) Richardson of Knoxville; mother, Sally (Walter) Suber Kortge of The Dalles, Ore.; son, Colton Lunn of Blue Springs, Mo.; brother, Bryn Richardson and his wife, Tara of Knoxville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim Lunn and his wife, Jennifer of Burns and Jeff Lunn and his wife, Robin of Dickson; grandmother, Violet Richardson of Tallahassee, Fla.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elmo and Jane Lunn of Burns; and nephews, Cale and Brien Lunn of Dickson, Tyler and Tucker Lunn of Burns and Beau Richardson of Knoxville.

Cleveland James Sanders

Funeral services for Mr. Cleveland James “Jamie” Sanders, 29, are 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2005 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Pastor Tommy Horner officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive cemetery in the Hortense community.

Mr. Sanders died Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

Survivors include his father, Cleveland O. Sanders of Dickson; sister, Aimee Robertson and her husband, Curtis of Dickson; brother, Marvin Northington of Smyrna; two nieces, Damesia Shontay Northington and Deminica Northington; two nephews, Cleveland M. Northington and Ja-Len M. Brown; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Northington Sanders.

M.L. O’Guin

Funeral services for M.L. O’Guin, 77, were 1 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005 at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville with Gerald McCann officiating. Interment icon followed in Kimmins cemetery.

Mr. O’Guin, a carpenter and an elder at Aetna Church of Christ, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at Life Care Center in Centerville.

Survivors include one son, Michael O’Guin of Clifton; three daughters, Janice Totty and Sandra Barber, both of Centerville and Marsha Croslin of Dickson; one brother, George O’Guin of Centerville; one sister, Opal Warren of Hohenwald; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Hazel O’Guin; and his parents, Douglas O’Guin and Mary Ellen Riley O’Guin.

Iva Jean Woodard Horner

Funeral services for Mrs. Iva Jean Woodard Horner, 75, were 1 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Worley Furnace Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Haynes officiating. Interment icon followed in East Dickson cemetery. Services were under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home.

Mrs. Horner, a homemaker and retired machine operator with the former Red Kap Garment Company and a nurses aide at Goodlark Hospital, died Sunday, March 13, 2005 at her home in Dickson. She was a member of Worley Furnace Baptist Church. She was president of the choir, worked with the youth choir and was a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Louis D. Horner of Dickson; sister, Vikki Russ of Dickson; several nieces and nephews, cousins; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sol Woodard and Lucille Simpson Hughes Woodard.

Thomas Alford Larkins

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Alford Larkins, 83, were 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2005 from the White Bluff Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Amos Davenport officiating.

Mr. Larkins, a retired foreman with General Electric, died Monday, March 14, 2005 at McKendree Healthcare in Nashville.

Survivors include one son, Thomas Alford Larkins Jr. of Tuscon, Ariz.; one daughter, Jayne Larkins of Nashville,; one brother, Floyd Larkins and his wife, Ruby Nell of White Bluff; and one sister, Mable Whitfield and her husband, Roy of White Bluff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Emma Martin Larkins; wife, Geneva Grace Larkins; three brothers; and one sister.

Robert Eugene Weaver

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Eugene “Cowboy” Weaver, 84, were 11 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. George Beechman officiating. Interment icon followed in Middle Tennessee Veterans cemetery near Pegram.

Mr. Weaver, a retired truck driver with a natural gas pipeline company and a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran, died Monday, March 14, 2005 at Trinity Hospital in Erin. He was born Oct. 22, 1920 in Bay City, Texas.

Survivors include four sons, Charles Weaver of Charlotte, Wayne Weaver of Springfield, Gary Weaver of Dickson and Ricky Whitaker of Nashville; two daughters, Dianne Burton of Nashville and Brenda Weaver of Dickson; special friends, Curtis and Frankie Hudson; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Harret Ryne Weaver; daughter, Linda Gail Weaver Molser; brothers, James, Wilburn and Elise Weaver; sisters, Marjorie Louise Stalls and Marie Fritz.
