JOSEPH E. MITCHELL
1922-2007
TREZEVANT: Joseph E. Mitchell, 85, died Wednesday, August 8, at Milan General Hospital. Funeral services were Friday, August 10, at 11:00 a.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan with Rev. James Groves officiating. Burial followed at Poplar Springs cemetery near Milan.
Mr. Mitchell was a World War II Army Veteran, retired security guard of Murray Guard Company, and a member of Tabernacle of the Living God Church in Milan.
Survivors include: his wife, Mattie N. Mitchell of Trezevant; one son, Richard E. Mitchell of Trezevant; three daughters, Brenda K. Whitman of McKenzie, Patricia D. Dixon of Carthage and Donna M. Lowe of Trezevant; one sister, Annie Lucille Scott of Vienna, Illinois; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

JAMES ALBERT TAYLOR
1920-2007
McKENZIE: James Albert Taylor, 86, died Monday, August 6, at Jackson General Hospital. Funeral services were Friday, August 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Trull officiating. Burial followed in Shiloh cemetery in McKenzie.
Mr. Taylor was born August 14, 1920 in Crockett County to the late Oder T. and Trula Lenora Pendergrass Taylor. He was a retired farmer and school bus driver and a member of First Baptist Church of McKenzie.
Survivors include: his wife, Marie (Cotham) Taylor; one son, Freddie (Frankie) Taylor of McKenzie; one daughter, Regina (Henry) Short of Cordova; two sisters, Helen (Charles) Smith of McKenzie and Ruth Little of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

JOYCE BEVERLY FRANCISKOVIC
1927-2007
HOLLOW ROCK: Joyce Beverly Franciskovic, 79, died Friday, August 3, at Life Care of Bruceton. A memorial services will be held Friday, August 24, at Jackson Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The body was cremated.
Mrs. Franciskovic, a housewife, was born August 7, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Alfred and Hertha Tapper Koeckenbery. She was a member of Jackson Park Lutheran Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Franciskovic.
Survivors include: one daughter, Diana (Fredric) Guenther of Hollow Rock; two sons, James (Janet) Franciskovic of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Jack (Sandra) Franciskovic of Waukesha, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

JUSTIN R. BLACKWELL
1980-2007
PARIS: U.S. Army Spc. Justin R. Blackwell, 27, was killed in action in Baghdad, Iraq on Sunday, August 5. Funeral services with full military honors are Tuesday, August 14, at East Wood Church of Christ in Paris.
Mr. Blackwell was born July 18, 1980 in Stuttgart, Germany. He was a 1999 graduate of Henry County High School and a member of Bethany Church of Christ.
Survivors include: his parents, Stephen Blackwell Sr. and Hazel King Blackwell of Paris; two daughters, Abigail Blackwell of Springville and Mackenzie Blackwell of Virginia; one son, Joshua Blackwell of Colorado; three brothers, Stephen (Jennifer) Blackwell Jr. of McKenzie, Army Spc. Vernon (Elizabeth) Blackwell of Fort Carson, and Army 2nd Lt. Nathan (Megan) Blackwell of Paris; his grandfather, Robert Blackwell of Paris; his grandmother, Lorilla Ferris of Amarilla, Texas; and a step-grandmother, Frances Blackwell of Paris.

RACHEL BEATRICE ENZOR FULLER
ATWOOD: Rachel Beatrice Enzor Fuller, 81, died Saturday, August 11, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, August 13, at 4 p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan with burial in Pisgah cemetery.
Mrs. Fuller was a member of the Atwood First United Methodist Church and retired Carroll County Health Department employee.
Survivors include: one son, Bobby Fuller of Gleason; one daughter, Helen Johnson of Atwood; two sisters, Louise Daniels and Naomi McDade, both of Covington; one brother, Bryan Enzor of Covington; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

ESTELLE TUBBS TODD
CLARKSBURG: Estelle Tubbs Todd, 87, died Sunday, August 12, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were Tuesday, August 14, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Huntingdon with burial at Farmville cemetery.
Mrs. Todd was a retired U.S. Army Inspector at Milan Army Ammunition Plant. She also owned and operated a general grocery store in Yuma for several years and served as Acting Postmaster in Yuma. In her post retirement years, she worked in several retail establishments in Huntingdon. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Huntingdon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donnie M. and Lula Mae Tubbs of Yuma; her husband, M.H. "Monk" Todd; and two brothers, Raymond Lewis Tubbs and Hollis Vernon Tubbs.
Survivors include: one son, Howell Wayne of Clarksburg; and one brother, Wayne Tubbs of Paris.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Farmville cemetery Trust Fund.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

ESTHER VIRGINIA SWEARINGEN
1923-2007
DOUGLASVILLE, GEORGIA: Esther Virginia Swearingen, 84, formerly of Hollow Rock, died Saturday, August 11, at Pine Knoll Nursing Home in Carrollton, Georgia. Funeral services were Monday, August 13, at 2 p.m. at Hollow Rock Methodist Church with Bro. Robert White officiating. Burial followed in Prospect cemetery.
Mrs. Swearingen was born January 12, 1923 in McKenzie to the late Edgar Eugene and Bernice Carter Berryhill. She was a retired nurse for Camden General Hospital and a member of Hollow Rock Methodist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herron Basil Swearingen; one son, Warren Lee "Butch" Swearingen; and one brother, Byron Doyle Berryhill.
Survivors include: one brother, Wallace Ray Berryhill, Sr.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

JOE V. MCKINNIE, SR.
1916-2007
MCKENZIE: Joe V. McKinnie, Sr., 91, died Monday, August 13, at McKenzie Regional Hospital in McKenzie. Graveside services are Friday, August 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Forrest Hill cemetery (East) in Memphis. Burial will follow at Forrest Hill cemetery (East) in Memphis. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, at McKenzie Funeral Home in McKenzie.
Mr. McKinnie, a retired Railway Express Agency associate, was born January 10, 1916 in Bolivar to the late G.C. McKinnie and Hattie May Hensley McKinnie. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Clark McKinnie.
Survivors include: two sons, Joe (Jean) McKinnie of McKenzie; James (Lynn) McKinnie, Sr. of Kernersville, North Carolina; one sister, Sue Pennay of New York; four grandchildren, Michelle (Scott) Shelton, Janice (Eric) Moore, James E.(Valarie) McKinnie, Jr. and Kimberly (Eddie) Moss; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 16, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital.
McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

CHARLES MERRITT DANGEAU
CORDOVA: Charles Merritt Dangeau, 62, died Tuesday, September 16, at his home. Funeral services were Friday, September 19, at 11 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Burial followed at Barnishaw cemetery in Pinetree, Arkansas.
Mr. Dangeau was a DJ for WEVL FM 89.9 for many years and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, receiving two Purple Hearts.
Survivors include: his wife, Erieka Dangeau of Cordova; one son, Cheyenne Dangeau of Cordova; his father and stepmother, Orvind and Franchelle Dangeau of Humboldt; one sister, Marcia Garrett of Southaven, Mississippi; and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be sent to the non-profit radio station WEVL, P.O. Box 40952, Memphis, TN 38174.

LILLIAN CARROLL WEGENER
1928-2008
MCKENZIE: Lillian Carroll Wegener, 80, died Wednesday, September 17, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Friday, September 19, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Kenny Carr officiating. Burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens in North Lake, Illinois.
Mrs. Wegener was born June 13, 1928 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Alex Roak and Rose (Doktor) Roak. She was a retired factory worker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Ralph Carroll and Charles Wegener; one son, Bobby Carroll; one brother, Walter Pryzbel; and one sister, Bernice Costa.
Survivors include: two daughters, Patricia (Joe) Hopper of McKenzie and Frances (Ray) Conzemius of Bensenville, Illinois; one stepdaughter, Betty Woodson of Springville; one stepson, James Carroll of Elmhurst, Illinois; two brothers, Alex (Lori) Rajkowski of Dunedin, Florida and Raymond (Alice) Pryzbel of Goose Neck, Florida; two sisters, Alice Gajewski of Palm Harbor, Florida and Tillie Kegel of Clearwater, Florida; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

MILDRED NEWBILL HENRY
1920-2008
McKENZIE: Mildred Newbill Henry, 88, died Friday, September 19, at McKenzie Healthcare Center in McKenzie. Graveside services were Monday, September 22, at 2 p.m. at the Garden of Memories in Sikeston, Missouri.
Ms. Henry was born May 15, 1920 in Carroll County to the late Earl and Blanche Bogle Newbill. She attended McLemoresville School and Sikeston Beauty School. She worked as a cosmetologist in Sikeston for 50 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Pollock.
Survivors include cousins.

CHARLES EDWARD TAYLOR
1952-2008
ATWOOD: Charles Edward Taylor, 56, died Monday, September 15. Funeral services were Saturday, September 20, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Atwood with Rev. Brian Simmons officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Olive cemetery.
Mr. Taylor was born June 21, 1952 in Huntingdon. He was a Vietnam veteran and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Ardine Taylor.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Bryant Taylor; his mother, Lizzie Owens Taylor; two daughters, Angel (Rodney) Carter of Nashville and Candrea Taylor of Jackson; two brothers, Owens W. (Felicia) Taylor of Atwood and Danny A. (Cassandra) Taylor of Hollow Rock; two sisters, Myra (Aaron) Taylor of Decatur, Illinois and Alice Forte of Humboldt; and four grandchildren.
Rawls Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

PAUL PARHAM
1938-2008
MCKENZIE: Paul Parham, 70, died Sunday, September 21, at Regional Hospital of Jackson. Funeral services are Thursday, September 25, at 7 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Ronnie McClure and Kevin Gallimore officiating.
Mr. Parham was born August 1, 1938 in Palmersville to the late Bobbie Parham and Louise (Elder) Parham. He was a retired research assistant for MMI. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernie Parham, Dean Parham and Jimmy Parham.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kim Hernalsteen of Michigan and Jessica Parham of Midland, Michigan; two sisters, Sherry Parker of McKenzie and Virginia Schreuder of Illinois; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four nieces, Janie (Dennis) Ricketts of Henry, Barbara Russell, Susie (Mike) Cross and Diana (Craig) Ballentine, all of McKenzie; and two nephews, Mark Russell of McKenzie and Bobby (Sharon) Russell of Gleason.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 p.m. until time of service.
