JUANITA S. HAMPTON
1927-2008
HOLLOW ROCK: Juanita S. Hampton, 80, died Monday, August 4, at her home. Funeral services were Wednesday, August 6, at 2 p.m. at Dilday Funeral Home with Bro. Tracy McDaniel, Bro. James Stewart and Bro. Fred Ward officiating. Burial followed in Oak Grove cemetery.
Mrs. Hampton was born November 26, 1927 in Buena Vista to the late Clarence and Erma (Austin) Smothers. She was a retired employee of Henry I. Siegel and member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Lee Hampton; two sons, Howard Lee Hampton and an infant son.
Survivors include: one daughter, Karen Lifsey of Hollow Rock; four sisters, Sue Tippett of Nashville, Nell Lowe of Bruceton, Mae Blankenship of Alabama and Glenda Sparks of Camden; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

THOMAS GLENN McALEXANDER
1932-2008
TREZEVANT: Thomas Glenn McAlexander, 76, died Tuesday, August 5, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, August 9, at 2 p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill cemetery near Lavinia.
Mr. McAlexander was born March 3, 1932 in Lavinia to the late Andrew and Vera McAlexander. He was united in marriage to Ellen Louise Hasten-McAlexander on April 18, 1969 in Las Vegas. He was a retired truck driver who loved raising horses. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Lou, Jimmy Sue and Elaine; and two brothers, Benny Lawrence and LaVoyd.
Survivors include: one daughter, Ermalene "Sissy" (Eddie) Latham of Trezevant; one son, Bill (Sherry) Hopkins of Lebanon, Missouri; one brother, Clarence McAlexander of Milan; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

BERTHA LOIS CHANDLER JORDAN
1927-2008
MEMPHIS: Bertha Lois (Chandler) Jordan, 81, formerly of Huntingdon, died Monday, August 11. Funeral services are Wednesday, August 13, at 11 a.m. at Humbles Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Jordan was born June 19, 1927 in Carroll County to the late W.W. and Minnie (Prince) Jordan. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Jordan and W.C. Jordan; and two sisters, Louise Johnson and Lucille Burcham.
Survivors include: two sons, Don (Lesa) Jordan and David (Marianne) Jordan; two daughters, Mary (Peter) Singer and Becky Harrell; two sisters, Bernice Smith and Mavis Woodard Reed; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

ARIC DOUGLAS "BUBBA" DOTSON
1968-2008
HENRY: Aric Douglas "Bubba" Dotson, 42, died Sunday, August 10, at Henry County Medical Center. Funeral services are Wednesday, August 13, at 11 a.m. at New Life Baptist Church in Henry with Brian Anderson and Corey Meggs officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem cemetery in Henry.
Mr. Dotson was born July 20, 1968 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He worked as lead carpenter for Volunteer Log Homes and was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Henry. He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Dotson; and stepfather, Dan Saxon.
Survivors include: his wife, Tamatha "Tammy" Davis Dotson of Henry; his mother, Carolyn Ann Bates Saxon of Huntingdon; one son, Aric Dotson, Jr. of Henry; one daughter, Tara Dotson of Henry; and two sisters, Dawny (Keith) Stewart of Georgia and Dana (Clif) Nunnery of Gleason.
Ridgeway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

JEAN VIRGINIA BARNETT LEE
1928-2008
MCKENZIE: Jean Virginia (Barnett) Lee, 80, died Saturday, August 9, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday, August 12, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie with Bro. Arthur Bain officiating. Burial followed in Liberty cemetery in McKenzie.
Ms. Lee was born May 16, 1928 in Kinsley, Kansas to the late Frank Barnett and Minnie (Smith) Barnett. She was a retired nurses aid.
Survivors include: one daughter, Linda J. Lee of McKenzie; one brother, Virgil Barnett of Cadiz, Kentucky; and one sister, Melba Foote of Winfield, Kansas.

CATHERINE LOUISE WALTERS
1936-2008
BRUCETON: Catherine Louise Walters, 71, died Friday, August 8, in Arlington, Kentucky. Funeral services are Wednesday, August 13, at 2 p.m. at Barren Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Larry Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Walters was born August 9, 1936 in Granite City, Illinois. She was a retired LPN for Life Care in Camden. She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Edward Walters.
Survivors include: her husband of 49 years, Kenneth Lee Walters of Bruceton; one daughter, Venus Lynn Walters of Murfreesboro; and one sister, Violet Fischer of Collinsville, Illinois.
Bruceton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MARY NELL RIVERS
1954-2008
HUNTINGDON: Mary Nell Rivers, 54, died Saturday, August 9, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis. Funeral services are Wednesday, August 13, at 1 p.m. at Parker's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Felix Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Parker's Chapel cemetery . Ms. Rivers was born May 22, 1954 in Clarksburg. She was preceded in death by her father, Larmon Rivers.
Survivors include: her mother, Effie Carline Rivers of Huntingdon; one daughter, Terkessa M. McKenzie of Paris; eight sisters, Rolla Mae Phillips of Champaigne, Illinois, Inell Melton and Lisa Hess, both of Parker's Crossroads, Janice Holmes of Jackson, Sandra Rivers of Huntingdon, Brenda Rivers of Smyrna, Wanda Rivers of Memphis, Carla Haynes of Murfreesboro; and five brothers, Willard Rivers of Huntingdon, James Rivers of Cedar Grove, Joe L. Rivers of Jackson, Ricky Rivers of Memphis and John Paul Melton of Lexington.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

RONNIE JONES
1953-2008
LAVINIA: Ronnie Jones, 54, died Sunday, August 10, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Cremation will follow.
Mr. Jones was born in Milan November 18, 1953 to the late Bennie Franklin Jones and Catherine Loucille Replogle Jones. He had lived in Lavinia since 1999 and was a former employee of Milan Box Corp.
Survivors include: one son, James Morris Jones of Spring Creek; two daughters, Angela Sisco of Medina and Catherine Jackson of Lavinia; two brothers, Phillip M. Jones and James Ed Jones, both of Lavinia; two sisters, Robbie Crosby of Cedar Grove and Peggy Mae Landers of Memphis; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

MAUREEN MCCLURE HOPPER
1917-2008
ATWOOD: Maureen McClure Hopper, 90, died Monday, August 11, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services are Wednesday, August 13, at 2 p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home with Rev. James Jackson and Rev. Jerry Milam officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah cemetery in Atwood.
Mrs. Hopper was born September 30, 1917 in Carroll County. She was a retired school teacher from Atwood Elementary School, member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, member of Atwood FCE Club and member of the Tennessee Retired Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hunter Hopper; four brothers, Charles McClure, Gene McClure, Kenneth McClure and Jack McClure; and one sister, Frances Foster.
Survivors include: one son, John (Betty) Hopper of Beech Bluff; two daughters, Nancy (Jerry) Miller of Lyles and Karen (Everett) Holland of Three Way; one brother, Bill McClure of Paris; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

PEGGY RUTH PALMER HALFORD
ATWOOD: Peggy Ruth Palmer Halford, 70, died Friday, June 1, at her residence. Funeral services were Monday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan with burial in Pisgah cemetery in Atwood.
Mrs. Halford was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Atwood. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton Palmer and Birdie Lee Mitchell Palmer; two sisters, Jean Sanders and Paulette Taylor; and two brothers, Carl Palmer and Adrian Palmer.
Survivors include: her husband of fifty years, James Halford of Atwood; one daughter, Jackie Halford of Atwood; one son, Jimmmy (Cathy) Halford of Atwood; three sisters, Cassie Wood of Trezevant, Joan Webb of Milan, and Betty Ann Conley of McKenzie; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church, Atwood, Tennessee 38220.

WILLIAM JOSEPH "JOE" GREEN
1922-2007
HOLLOW ROCK: William Joseph "Joe" Green, 84, died Sunday, June 3, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services are Wednesday, June 6, at 2 p.m. at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with burial in New Prospect cemetery near Hollow Rock.
Mr. Green was born August 16, 1922 near Clarksburg to the late John Russell Green, Sr. and Sarah Magdeline West Green. He was a Baptist and a World War II Navy veteran.
Survivors include: his wife, Agnis Green of Huntingdon; one daughter, Sharon English of Garden City, Kansas; one sister, Bessie Mae Phillips of Bruceton; one brother, Ralph Newhouse of Bruceton; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and 9 a.m. until time of funeral on Wednesday.

JIMMY FIELDER "RED" ARRINGTON
1950-2007
TREZEVANT: Jimmy Fielder "Red" Arrington, 56, died Saturday, June 2, at Camden General Hospital. Graveside services were Tuesday, June 5, at 11 a.m. at Shiloh cemetery in Lavinia with Joe Underwood officiating.
Mr. Arrington was born October 6, 1950 in Jackson to the late Lewis Alfred Arrington and Bessie Irene Ferguson Arrington. He was a self-employed mechanic.
Survivors include: two sons, Thomas Jeffrey Curran of Bradford and Jimmy Brian Arrington of Dickson; two daughters, Betsy Arrington Graves of Henderson and Jenny Lynn Barton of Milan; one brother, Lewis Junior Arrington of Trezevant; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan was in charge of arrangements.

DOROTHY MARIE CARRELL WILKES
1925-2006
HUNTINGDON: Dorothy Marie Carrell Wilkes, 81, died Tuesday, September 26, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 30, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home with Bro. Brett Haskins officiating. Burial followed in Palmer Shelter cemetery.
Mrs. Wilkes was born August 25, 1925 in Carroll County to the late Charlie E. and Birdie Smith Cole Carrell. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Almus Wilkes; one son, Waldon Wilkes; one grandson, Michael Eric Wilkes; three brothers, Laman Carrell, Hubert Carrell, and Roy Carrell; and one sister, Lucille Welch.
Survivors include: two sons, James (Betty) Wilkes and Futrell (Arlene) Wilkes, both of Huntingdon; one daughter, Martha (Norman) Hillard of Huntingdon; five grandsons, two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
