BRUCETON - James "Jim" Lewis Wright, Jr., 66, died Saturday, July 5, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, July 7, at 1 p.m. at Bruceton Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Whitworth officiating. Burial followed in New Prospect cemetery near Hollow Rock.
Mr. Wright was born July 14, 1941 in Conway, Arkansas to the late James Lewis Wright, Sr. and Lora Inez Lane Wright. He was a lumber inspector and yard supervisor for Camden Hardwood, member of Bruceton First United Methodist Church, a Vietnam Navy veteran, member of National Hardwood Association, Bruceton Masonic Lodge #731, Bruceton Order of Eastern Star Adah Chapter 314, Hustsburg Order of Eastern Star 153, and Memphis Scottish Rite.
Survivors include: his wife, Charmian Arnold Wright of Bruceton; one daughter, Debbie Taylor of Bruceton; one sister, Linda Nooner of Cmorrilton, Arkansas; two brothers, Ernest Wright of Conway, Arkansas and Doug Wright of Germantown; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

SHIRLEY J. GRIFFIN
1938-2008
McKENZIE - Shirley J. Griffin, 69, died Monday, July 7, at her home. Funeral services were Tuesday, July 8, at 3 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield with burial in Pilgrims Rest cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Griffin was born November 23, 1938 to the late Rev. C.A. Tate and Lucille (Byrum) Tate. She was a factory worker at HIS. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Griffin; and one sister, Mildred Cooper.
Survivors include: one son, Ricky Griffin of McKenzie; one daughter, Kathy (Griffin) Brennan of McKenzie; and one brother, Alton Tate of Gleason.

CLARA A. OSBORNE
1962-2007
McKENZIE - Clara A. Osborne, 44, died Saturday, March 24, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 27, at 2:00 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with Wray Forrest officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Osborne, a homemaker, was born July 15, 1962 in McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Seymore.
She and husband, Kenneth, died in a motorcycle accident. Joint funeral services were held.
Survivors include: her mother, Patricia Edwards Seymore; two daughters, Rachel (Paul) Murphy and April (William) Ivy, both of McKenzie; one sister, Genise Corder of McKenzie; four brothers, David Seymore and Josh Mann, both of McKenzie, Dan Seymore of Waverly, and L.C. Seymore of Chicago, Illinois; and two grandchildren, A.J. Murphy, 3, and Hannah Ivy, 18 months.
Memorials may be made to March of Dimes.

RONALD GENE HUGUELEY
1954-2007
GLEASON - Ronald Gene Hugueley, 53, died Saturday, March 24, at his residence. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Gene Price officiating. Burial followed in New Valley cemetery in Gleason.
Mr. Hugueley was born February 5, 1954 in Weakley County. He was preceded in death by his father, G.H. Hugueley.
Survivors include: his mother, Joyce Ann Bolton (Joe) Mingle; one son, Freddie Gene Hugueley; one daughter, Youvhanda Stone of Dresden; two brothers, Edward Allen Hugueley of Dresden and Donald Ray Hugueley of Latham; and three grandchildren.

MELVER DEAN THOMAS
1949-2007
HUNTINGDON - Melver Dean Thomas, 57, died Friday March 23, at her home. Funeral services are Wednesday, March 28, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Huntingdon with Bro. Fred Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Humbles cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas was born July 29, 1949 in Carroll County to the late L. D. Bryant and Artie B. (Moore) Bryant. She was a nurse's assistant for Extended Care Company, and a member of First Baptist Church in Huntingdon.
Survivors include: one son, Brent Thomas of Huntingdon; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Aldridge of Toledo, Ohio; and two brothers, James R. Bryant of Jackson and Dr. Joseph Bryant of Baltimore, Maryland.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mabel Good Tuck Phelps
1914-2007
MARTIN - Mabel Good Tuck Phelps, 92, formerly of Gleason, died Thursday, February 1, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services were Saturday, February 3, at 1:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel in Martin with Rev. Jerry Powell officiating. Burial followed in East Side cemetery in Martin.
Mrs. Phelps was born April 26, 1914 in Obion County to the late John W. Good and Pearl Harris Good. She was retired from VanAyer Manor Nursing Home in Martin and was a member of the First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Jesse Tuck and Charlie Phelps; a stepson, Billy Phelps, Jr.; four brothers, Homer Good, John Thomas Good, George Good, and Cecil Good; and two sisters, Dolene Noah and Laura Mae Dorris.
Survivors include: two sons, Johnny Tuck of Martin, and Robert Tuck of Gleason; one daughter, Jean Bullington of Martin; one stepdaughter, Roberta McCain of Lansing, Michigan; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

JERRY LYNN CONNELL
1946-2007
DRESDEN - Jerry Lynn Connell, 60, died Sunday, February 4, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services were Tuesday, February 6, at 2 p.m. in Gallimore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dean Doster and Rev. Dennis Scott officiating. Burial followed in Sandhill cemetery.
Mr. Connell was born October 17, 1946 in McKenzie to the late Kenneth and Bonnie Scarbrough Connell. He was retired from U.P.S. and was a member of First United Methodist Church in McKenzie.
Survivors include: his wife, Nancy Connell; three sons, Davey (Lynn) Connell of Franklin, Greg (Baronica) Williams of Martin and Tim (Jeanie) Williams of Gleason; two daughters, Susan (Casey) Beathrad of Franklin and Kim (Tony) Coble of Gleason; three brothers, Larry Connell of Riley, North Carolina, Terry Connell and Gary Connell, both of Germantown; and 11 grandchildren.

ERMA LEE NOLEN
McKENZIE - Erma Lee Nolen, 81, died Sunday, June 29, at Henry County Medical Center. Arrangements were incomplete at press time and will be announced by Trinity Funeral Home.

CAROL GRAY SCATES BLACKBURN
1940-2008
McKENZIE - Carol Gray Scates Blackburn, 68, died Monday, June 30, at her home. Funeral services are Wednesday, July 2, at 11 a.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie with burial in Mt. Olivet cemetery, McKenzie.
Mrs. Blackburn was born March 26, 1940 to the late Buren and Tommie Lou Wiseman Scates. She was a flight attendant and homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gene Blackburn, Sr.
Survivors include: three sons, Bobby Blackburn of Nashville, Stephen Blackburn of Memphis, and Michael Blackburn of Houston, Texas; and three grandchildren, Brian, Shaun, and Jessica Blackburn.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, July 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time.

JAMES SINGLETON, JR.
MILAN - James Singleton, Jr., 76, died Friday, June 6, at Milan Health Care. Graveside services were Monday, June 9, at 9 a.m. at Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Singleton was born March 19, 1932 in Shelby County to the late James and Nan Booker Singleton. He was a retired boxer.
Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

RICHARD SMITH CREWS
1920-2008
HUNTINGDON - Richard Smith Crews, 88, died Monday, June 9, at Henry County Medical Center. Funeral services are Wednesday, June 11, at 10 a.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Lynn Stapleton officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect cemetery.
Mr. Crews was born January 30, 1920 in Carroll County to the late Marion Richard Crews and Lonie Mae (Smith) Crews. He was a retired truck drive for Henry I. Siegel Company. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Audie Marie Crews.
Survivors include: three sons, Harold (Gail) Eubanks of Huntingdon, Frankie Eubanks of Camden and Randy (Julia) Crews of Missouri; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time of services.

GEORGE KEITH TAYLOR
1958-2008
HENRY - George Keith Taylor, 49, died Friday, June 6, at Henry County Medical Center. Funeral services were Sunday, June 8, at 4 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with David Van Wyk officiating. Burial followed in Bevil cemetery in Paris.
Mr. Taylor was born December 20, 1958 in Murray, Kentucky. He formerly worked for ISS Cleaning Company in Jackson and was a member of Seventh Day Adventist. He was preceded in death by his father, George Joe Taylor; and two sisters, Helen Raspberry Manning and Kathy Taylor.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Dortch Taylor of Henry; his mother, Lela Taylor Brown of Carrollton, Georgia; one son, Joseph Keith "Joey" Taylor of Henry; two sisters, Cereta Lawrence of Carrollton, Georgia and Deloris Snead of Henry; one brother, William Little of Paris; and one grandchild.

MARION E. OLDS
1930-2008
McKENZIE - Marion E. Olds, 78, died Monday, June 9, at McKenzie Health Care Center. Funeral services are Wednesday, June 11, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie with burial in Mt. Olivet cemetery, McKenzie.
Mrs. Olds was born May 17, 1930 to the late U.L. and Lena Agnes Cloyd Watkins. She was retired from Sunbeam Bread Thrift Store and a member of Grace Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Harry Olds; two sisters, Earlene Brockman and Juttie Lou Maynard; and two brothers, Johnny Watkins and Billy Ray Watkins.
Survivors include: two sisters, Eulene Walker of McKenzie and Imogene (Jimmy) Patterson of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Helen Watkins of Trezevant; two nieces, Vicky King and Patsy Watkins; and six nephews, Joe Ray Watkins, Steven Watkins, James Paul Patterson, John Earl Brockman, Kenneth Brockman and Donald Maynard.

ARCHIE RAY MCALEXANDER
1926-2008
CEDAR GROVE - Archie Ray McAlexander, 82, died Friday, June 6, at his home. Funeral services are Wednesday, June 11, at 11 a.m. at Leach Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Roger Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Leach Seventh Day Adventist cemetery.
Mr. McAlexander was born April 6, 1926 in Cedar Grove. He was a retired salesman for Horizon. He was preceded in death by his wife, WillDean McAlexander; two brothers, Arvel McAlexander and Dwayne McAlexander; and one sister, Catholene Luna.
Survivors include: one daughter, Rhonda McAlexander of Bishop, California; two sons, William McAlexander of Sutherlin, Oregon, and Cliff McAlexander of Roseburg, Oregon; two sisters, Sue Kelly of Ooltewah, Tennessee, and Arlene Moody of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Albert McAlexander of Chattanooga; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dilday Funeral Home and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services at the Leach Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
