PARIS - Glen Butler, 57, died Sunday, January 20, at Henry County Medical Center. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The body was cremated.
Mr. Butler was born March 14, 1950 in McKenzie to the late George Albert Butler and Fronie Lee Taylor Butler. He formerly attended Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Michelle (Bobby) Morgan of Gleason; three sisters, Janice (Robert) Chenoweth and Phyllis (Brent) Stoddard, Sr., both of Paris, and Mary Kay Dykes of Springville; and one granddaughter.

Lillie Bell Johnson

GLEASON - Services for Lillie Bell Johnson, 96, were conducted on Friday, February 18, at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with interment
in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson, a retired store owner, died on Wednesday, February 16, at the Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
Survivors include two daughters, Robbie Barineau of Jacksonville, Florida, and Loville Boane of Gleason; two brothers, James Mayo and Elbert Mayor, both of McKenzie; two sisters, Lucille Woods of Gleason and Lula Mae Holmes of Huntingdon; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
CLYDE THOMAS KELLEY

McKENZIE - Clyde Thomas Kelley, 97, died Tuesday, March 4, at McKenzie Health Care Center. Funeral services were Friday, March 7, at 2 p.m. at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Cross Plains, Texas with burial in Cross Plains cemetery in Cross Plains, Texas.
Mr. Kelley, a retired electrical contractor, was born November 11, 1910 in Coleman, Texas to the late Thomas W. Kelley and Minnie (Sewell) Kelley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Aletha (Mitchell) Kelley.
Survivors include: one son, Mike (Paula) Kelley of McKenzie; two grandchildren, Kellie Adcox of McKenzie and Ginger Kelley of Nashville; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Karyssa, Abella, and Cedar; and one great-great-grandchild, Cutter Cash.

WILLIAM EVERETT "BILL" BISHOP, SR.

PARIS - William Everett "Bill" Bishop, Sr., 83, died Monday, March 3, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Graveside services were Wednesday, March 5, at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Methodist cemetery in Huntingdon.
Mr. Bishop was born April 16, 1924 in Monroe, Louisiana to the late Everett Orlando Bishop and Audrey Duncan Bishop. He was retired from Holley Carburetor Plant, formerly worked for International Union of Operating Engineers in California, and was a WW II Army veteran. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Patrick Henry Bishop.
Survivors include: his wife, Alice Ann Byers Bishop of Paris; two sons, William E. (Melinda) Bishop, Jr. of Paris and Daniel A. (Darlene) Bishop of Henry; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

HUNTINGDON - Oren Ray Gurley, 65, died Monday, March 3, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Wednesday, March 5, at 1 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Wray Forrest officiating. Burial followed in Sellers Hill cemetery.
Mr. Gurley was born May 16, 1942 in Carroll County to the late John Oder and Florence Corine (Hardy) Gurley. He was a retired maintenance man for Republic Door Company. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Gurley; and one daughter, Kimberly Gurley.
Survivors include: his wife of 18 years, Norma Jean Gurley; one son, Kemp (Rita) Gurley of Huntingdon; two sisters, Frances (Wilburn) Laws of Huntingdon and Odaleane (Jim) Wyatt of Jackson; three brothers, Odell (Sue) Gurley and Orbra (Sue) Gurley, both of Huntingdon, and Otis (Jan) Gurley of Jackson; and two grandchildren.

McKENZIE - Clifford Wesley Vinson, 95, died Wednesday, March 5, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, March 8, at 1 p.m. at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Burial followed in Memorial cemetery.
Mr. Vinson was born June 4, 1912 in Waterloo, Alabama to the late Joe Vinson and Dora Scott Vinson. He was a retired farmer and a Baptist. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Lennie Vinson, Ethel Mathis, Annie White and Evie Hawkins; and one brother, Ellie Vinson.
Survivors include: two daughters, Paulette (Curtis) Wiseman of Paris and Mary Jo (Larry) Higgins of Savannah; two sons, Bobby (Janice) Vinson of Nashville and Harold (Shirley) Vinson of McKenzie; one sister, Cora Flatt of Bradford; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
GEORGE DANIEL "DAN" LOONEY

HENRY - George Daniel "Dan" Looney, 77, died Monday, March 3, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Funeral services were Wednesday, March 5, at 2 p.m. at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. Joseph Geary officiating. Burial followed in Palestine cemetery.
Mr. Looney was born April 10, 1930 in Henry County to the late Joe Looney and Martha Hall Looney. He retired after 31 years with BellSouth as a switchman, member and past president of the Telephone Pioneers, vice chairman of E911 board, member of First United Methodist Church, U.S. Air Force veteran, and worked for Habitat for Humanity. He was a graduate of Henry County High School and attended UT Martin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Randy Looney.
Survivors include: his wife, Joan Seawright Looney; one daughter, Dian (Bub) Edwards of Paris; one son, Steve (Kathy) Looney of Paris; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

BUENA VISTA - Denny Lee Rhodes, 55, formerly of Camden, died Wednesday, March 5, at his home. Funeral services were Saturday, March 8, at 1 p.m. at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Wilson and Bro. Tommy Oatsvall officiating. Burial followed in Benton Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Rhodes was born January 21, 1953 in Dunclin, Missouri to the late Cecil Madison and Dora Dell Tubbs Rhodes. He was a retired timber cutter. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Carlton (Jack) Rhodes; two sisters, Mary Chaffin and Dell Dora Boyd; and one brother, Junior Rhodes.
Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn J. Eason Rhodes; one daughter, Belinda (Dennis) Harlow of Camden; five sisters, Janet Dabbs of Howenwald, Joyce Rhodes, Charlotte Hampton, Donna Henson, and Laura Albritton, all of Camden; one half-sister, Maudine Buse of Mississippi; three brothers, Ray Rhodes, Charles Rhodes, and Jessie Rhodes, all of Camden; and one grandchild.

COOKEVILLE - Christine Bowers Aylor, 91, formerly of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, March 5, at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville. Funeral services were Friday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at Bruceton Funeral Home with Rev. Noel Edwards officiating. Burial followed in New Prospect cemetery near Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Aylor was born September 15, 1916 in Buena Vista to the late William Elijah and Bessie Orr Brewer Bowers. She was a retired secretary for Methodist Publishing Company of Nashville and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bowers.
Survivors include: one half-brother, Alvin Bowers of Wichita, Kansas.

GLEASON - Rebecca Ann Reed Pryor, 52, died Thursday, March 6, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, March 8, at 11 a.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Pryor was born November 25, 1955 in Nashville to the late J. C. and JoAnn Jones Reed. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: her husband, Elton Pryor of Gleason; two sons, Robert Reed of McKenzie and David Pryor of Gleason; one daughter, Shelia (Kevin) Cady of Pascagoula, Mississippi; three brothers, Billy Reed and Milburn (Ramona) Reed, both of McKenzie, and Paul (DeAnna) Reed of Sikeston, Missouri; two sisters, Ruby (David) Sanders of Henry and Tammy (Bruce) Phillips of Buena Vista; and three grandchildren.

McKENZIE - Lorene Hammett, 82, died Saturday, March 8, at Jackson Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, March 10, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Dennis Beal officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mrs. Hammett was born June 6, 1925 in Benton County to the late Ed Branch and Cora (Parnell) Branch. She was retired from Wilker Brothers. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, O.J. Hammett; one son, Nathan Hammett; one brother, Eddy Branch; and one sister, Martha Eakens.
Survivors include: one son, Jimmy (Debbie) Hammett of Milan; five daughters, Barbara Martin, Doris Berryhill, and Wanda (John) Dunn, all of McKenzie, Gladys McDaniel of Henry, and Sue Fiedman of Canada; one brother, Bill Branch of Nashville; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

McKENZIE - Charline Griffin Berry, 89, formerly of Paris, died Saturday, March 8, at Union City Manor. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Paris with Dr. Joseph Geary and Thurman Holmes officiating. Burial followed in Maplewood cemetery.
Mrs. Berry was born June 7, 1918 in Houston County to the late Glenn Turner Griffin and Macey Moore Griffin. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Paris where she served as Sunday School teacher all of her adult life, served as secretary of the Administrative Board for many years and a long time member of United Methodist Women. She was a member of John Babb Chapter of DAR, Woman's Club, Thursday Bridge Club and was a charter member of Paris Professional Secretaries International. She worked for the City of Paris as City Recorder and City Judge for over 25 years retiring in 1975. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Buford Berry; two sisters, Dorothy Griffin Turner and Betty Griffin Perry; one brother, James Burnett Griffin; and one grandchild.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carolyn (Charles) Folks of Paris and Martha Ellen (Jim) Rippy of Union City; one sister, Rebecca (Lee) Gatlin of Memphis; seven grandchildren, one step-grandchild and 13 great-grandchildren.
HENRY "THOMAS" LEE, JR.
JACKSON - Henry Thomas Lee, Jr. died Sunday, March 9, at Jackson General Hospital. Funeral services are Wednesday, March 12, at 2 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Chuck Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's cemetery.
Mr. Lee was a truck driver with Hub Express. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Thomas Lee, Sr.; grandparents, Lewis Patton and Mozzell Lee; George Washington and Beulah Cordelia "Delia" Chesser.
Survivors include: his wife, Patricia Lee; his mother, Ruby Lee of Gleason; four sons, Jeffrey Lee of Paris, Chris Lee of McKenzie, Jonathan Scott of Navarre, Florida and Matthew Scott of Dresden; two daughters, Elizabeth Scott Bass of Milan and Michelle Shrout; two brothers, Dickie Lee of Memphis and Patrick Lee of McKenzie; one sister, Joann Bradley of Montverde, Florida; and 11 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Hilliard was born August 24, 1942 in Westport to the late William G. and Clara Mai (Cary) Hilliard. He was a self-employed mechanic. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Hilliard; one son, William G. Hilliard; one stepsister, Betty Lou James; and two stepbrothers, Willie Leroy Floyd and James Howard Floyd.
Survivors include: one daughter, Bonita "Bonnie" Carol (Ronald R.) Beaver of Oscaloosa, Iowa; one son, Floyd "Eddie" Edward (Carol Lynn) Hilliard, Jr. of Huntingdon; one sister, Roberta Lange of Huntingdon; three stepsisters, Mary Ann Dodd of Cedar Grove, Peggy Sue Jackson and Wilma Sue Smith, both of Huntingdon; one brother, Johnny Hilliard of Cedar Grove; two stepbrothers, Junior Floyd of Westport and Bobby Floyd of Chicago, Illinois; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
