NORMAN 'PAP' BARKER
1937-2007
MARTIN - Norman G. 'Pap' Barker, 69, died Saturday, April 7, at his home. Funeral services were Monday, April 9, at 2 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin with Rev. Scott Penick officiating. Burial followed in East Side cemetery in Martin.
Mr. Barker was born August 3, 1937 in McKenzie to the late Wade and Lola Lester Kelly Barker. He was a painter and decorator in a color shop and was a member of McKenzie Church of Christ. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Barker, and one brother, Wade Barker, Jr.
Survivors include: three sons, Anthony Barker of Paris, Kevin Barker of Huntingdon and Henry Warren of Kennett, Missouri; five daughters, Teresa Kibbler of Paris, Ann Mercer of Glasgow, Kentucky, Christy Curtis of Wynn, Arkansas, Cheryl Foster of Hayworth, Oklahoma, and Rosemary Hopper of Martin; two brothers, Lawrence Ray Barker of McKenzie and Ronnie Barker of Henry; two sisters, Hazel Rainey of McKenzie and Joyce Frazee of Camden; and 14 grandchildren.

PAUL OWENS
1976-2007
PANAMA CITY, FLORIDA - Paul Owens, 31, died Friday, April 6, at Bay Medical Center in Panama City. Funeral services were Monday, April 9, at New Life Baptist Church in Henry with Corey Meggs officiating. Burial followed in New Bethel cemetery in Henry.
Mr. Owens was born March 31, 1976 in Carrollton, Georgia. He was engaged to Carla Goodman of Panama City. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Brack and Louise Swafford.
Survivors include: his parents, Roger and Peggy Owens of Henry; two sons, Kaiden and Chasden Owens, both of Panama City; one sister, Amber Owens of Henry; his grandparents, Edward and Mary Owens of Henry; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

JAMES ALLEN AUTRY
LAVINIA - James Allen Autry, 63, died Tuesday, April 10, at his residence. Funeral services were Friday, April 13, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home in Medina with Rev. Phillip Miller officiating. Burial followed in Lathams Chapel cemetery in Gibson County.
Mr. Autry was born in Madison County to the late James Lewis and Lillie Mae Harper Autry. He was a retired building manager for West Tennessee Health Care and a member of Lathams Chapel Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Autry; two sisters, Mollie Ann Autry and Helen Autry Hinson; and one brother, Billy Joe Autry.
Survivors include: two sons, Brad (Tracy) Autry of Lavinia and Barry (Missy) Autry of Parsons; three sisters, Jane Bryant of Milan, Louise Fonville of Humboldt, and Elsie Frye of Gibson; one brother, Jim Autry of Medina; and three grandchildren.

BOBBY CARNELL MORGAN
1939-2007
McKENZIE - Bobby Carnell Morgan, 67, died Saturday, April 14, at his residence. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 17, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Virgil Bishop officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie.
Mr. Morgan was born June 21, 1939 in Huntingdon to the late Bennie Morgan, Sr. and Clara Mae Wheeler Morgan. He was employed with McKenzie Feed and Grain. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Doug Morgan, Bennie Morgan, Jr., and William Morgan; and two sisters, Evelyn Sydnor and Doris Hall.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda Morgan of McKenzie; four daughters, Donna (Mark) Chapman, Doris Morgan, Melinda Wallace and Angie (Chris) Chrisman, all of McKenzie; one sister, Ruth Morgan of McKenzie; and six grandchildren.

LUCILLE PERRIGIN
TRENTON: Nannie Lucille Perrigin, 87, formerly of McKenzie, died Thursday, April 12. Gravesides services were Sunday, April 15, at Oakland cemetery with Walter Lockhart and Bro. Ronnie Coleman officiating.
Mrs. Perrigin and her late husband, H.L. Perrigin, owned and operated the Gibson County Feed Company in Trenton.
Survivors include: one daughter, Janet Dollar of Trenton; one brother, George Moseley of Memphis; one sister, Janice Moseley Prigmore of Charleston, Mississippi; two grandsons, and one great-grandson.
Shelton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

GLENDA JEAN SEVERANCE
1941-2007
BRUCETON - Glenda Jean Severance, 66, died Monday, April 16, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services are Wednesday, April 18, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Ozment and Bro. Jack Hopper officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Severance was born April 2, 1941 in Crab Orchard, Kentucky to the late Chester Green and Mahala (Anderson) Green. She was a homemaker and a member of Marlsboro Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Delores Miracle, three infant brothers and one infant child.
Survivors include: her husband of 46 1/2 years, Jim Severance; two daughters, Missy (Chris) Beloate of Puryear and Tara Nay (Chris) Stocum of Bruceton; two sons, James Chester Severance of Camden and Keith Randall Severance of Bruceton; four sisters, Jewell Sams of Bativia, Ohio, Margaret Mink of Stanford, Kentucky, Allene Thacker Newtonsville of Ohio and Hartzel Lay of Crab Orchard, Kentucky; 16 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

DWIGHT ANTHONY JONES
McKENZIE - Dwight A. Jones, 41, died from a gunshot wound Thursday, April 12, in McKenzie. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 17, at 1 p.m. at Olivet Baptist Church in McKenzie with burial in Greenwood cemetery in Paris.
Mr. Jones was self-employed as a mechanic.
Survivors include: his mother, Arnita Jones of McKenzie; his father, Tommy B. Jones; one daughter, Kenisha Williams of McKenzie; one son, Zackery Jones of Paris; his grandmother, Daisy Jones of Trezevant; two brothers, Dwayne Jones of Paris and Jeffery Jones of McKenzie; three sisters, Shirley Jones, Sindy Jones Howard and Angela Warren, all of McKenzie; one half-sister, Patricia Jones of Huntingdon; and one half-brother, Antwon Jones of Clarksville.
Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ronny Joe "Red" Lawrence
1941-2005
BRIGHTON - Ronny Joe "Red" Lawrence, 64, died Friday, October 21, at the Methodist Hospital North in Memphis. Funeral services were held October 24. Interment icon followed at Fodge cemetery in Henry, with Dr. Dennis Jones officiating. Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Lawrence was born June 29, 1941 to Wynona Verdell Lawrence and Barney Joseph Lawrence, both deceased. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as an instructor.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sue Todd Lawrence of Brighton; one son, Sean Edward Lawrence of Arnold, Maryland; two stepsons, Dennis Jones of Waterloo, Ill. and David Jones of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; one daughter, Rhonda Elizabeth Jones of Atoka, Tenn.; three step-daughters: Tresa Sander of Gulfport, Miss. and Ann Davenport and April Gish, both of Millington; two brothers, Jamie Lawrence of Hollow Rock and Reggie Lawrence of Huntingdon; one sister, Elizabeth Sims of McKenzie; three grandchildren, and 13 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Vernon Wade "Pea Jacket" Lawrence, and two sisters, Charlene Goodrich and Evangeline Hilliard.

Walter Jerome Swinford
1935-2005
YUMA - Walter Jerome Swinford, 70, died Thursday, October 20, at his home.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 22, at the Yuma Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Phillip Halter officiating. Interment icon followed in the New Hope cemetery.
Mr. Swinford was born July 10, 1935 in Pocahontas, Tenn., to Benjamin and Ottie (Tallie) Swinford. He was owner and manager of Swinford Nursery in Yuma, and a member of the Pocahontas Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Leola May (ValAlstine) Swinford; three daughters: Tina Swinford of Corpus Christi, Texas, Teresa (Terry) Williams of Marion, Rkansas, and Tammy (Mark) Ashcraft of Horseshoebend, Arkansas; one daughter-in-law, Teresa Swinford of Yuma; five sons: Thomas (Cindy) Swinford of Jackson, and Tony (Shonda) Swinford, Walter Swinford, Jr. (friend Donna), Toby (Christie) Swinford and Michael Swinford, all of Yuma; three sisters: Margaret Parish of Linden, Juanita Cruse of Pocahontas, and Joyce Hurst of Bemis; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tim Swinford; one brother, Johnny Swinford; and two sisters, Joann Grimes and Peggy Swinford.

James John Newton Jackson
1920-2005
ATWOOD - James John Newton Jackson, 85, died Tuesday, October 18, at NHC Health Care in Milan. Services were conducted October 21 at Bodkin Funeral Home with Brother Jeremy Ballenger, the Reverend Jack Dickerson and the Reverend Thomas Barker officiating. Burial was in Pisgah cemetery.
Mr. Jackson was born August 15, 1920, in Gibson County, to Arthur Curtis Jackson and Myrtle Icie McConnell. He was a retired employee of Volunteer Company Leather and a member of First United Methodist Church of Atwood.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Louise Jackson; one daughter, Linda (Danny) Martin of Atwood; one son, James (Kay) Jackson of Martin; one brother, Robert Guy Jackson of Chowchilla, California; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Cleatus Jackson.
Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Rue Newsome Joyner
1915-2005
HUNTINGDON - Rue Newsome Joyner, 90, died Tuesday, October 18, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted October 21 at First Baptist Church in Huntingdon with Brother Fred Ward officiating. Interment icon followed in the Hampton cemetery.
Mrs. Joyner was born March 17, 1915, in Carroll County, to the late Claude and Rebecca G. (Derryberry) Newsome. She was a retired factory worked for the Milan Arsenal and a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Huntingdon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Aaron Joyner; and three brothers: Edd Newsome, Earl Newsome, and Houston Newsome.
She is survived by one son, James Ralph (Sonja) Joyner of Huntingdon; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Agnes Bryant
1912-2005
TREZEVANT - Agnes Bryant, 93, died Monday, October 17, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of Huntingdon. Funeral services were conducted October 19 in the chapel of Brummitt Funeral Home of Trezevant, with burial in Trezevant cemetery. Brother Billy Morphis and the Reverend Malcolm Norton conducted the services.
Miss Bryant was born February 18, 1912, to Rufus Leonard Bryant and Ethel Green Bryant. She was a retired school teacher and Trezevant correspondent for The McKenzie Banner. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Trezevant.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Eline Yates.
Brummitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Chad Louis Burns
CEDAR GROVE - Chad Louis Burns, 24, died Monday, October 17, at Jackson General Hospital. Services were held October 21 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Lexington. Burial followed in Lexington cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to the children of Chad Louis Burns. Donations may be sent to: c/o Josh and Christine Burns, 2225 Rock Milan Road, Cedar Grove, TN 38321.
Mercer Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
